We're all getting there.
Even if it's very slow now.

Welcome back to the thread regulars and hello to anyone who would like to join us.

Weigh-day for me today, 1.5lbs off which puts me at 11st 1.4lbs, I’m so close to the 10s which is unreal, and about 11lbs away from the ‘normal’ bmi range!
113.5 lbs lost on Mounjaro 💪🏻 which is (according to that weight loss ‘chart’) the amount of red meat the average American eats in a year, one Guinea pig and a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts…

AlicesMum2025 · 25/11/2025 15:18

@mamabeeboo I get the body fat vs muscle data from my Etekcity smart scales. It's probably not 100% accurate but good enough for me.

AlicesMum2025 · 25/11/2025 15:19

@Iwouldratherbesinging so close to the 10s!!! Well done on another brilliant week

If you are gaining weight despite being in a calorie deficit (and unless you are eating a huge/calorific amount in your one meal you must be) I would see your GP.

My 1 meal isn't 1000s of calories, it's chicken, veg and a couple of potatoes and fruit after. If it was 1000s of calories I wouldn't have lost the amount I have and would obviously know why I was gaining.

GP is last resort but if it doesn't sort itself out I'll have to try them.

That definitely sounds like there's something more going on than just metabolism etc - thyroid maybe?

Have you tried using a syringe to extract all the mj?

Yes I do that at home @mamabeeboo but they'd never let me here! It's all overseen by nurses/doctors in the medical room. I was lucky they never spotted I used the same pen 5 times.

What might be good next time is to say you're collecting the pens as part of your weightloss journey for photos or whatever.

They might let you keep the pen so you can syringe the rest 👀

How would Pearl keep them cold till she got home?
And they'd have been open for ages.

Doesn't have to be refrigerated after opening right? Especially if its the last dose in the pen.
(I don't know under what scenario the jab is being taken here though because I do all mine at home. So I might have missed something here.)

SilenceInside · 25/11/2025 21:11

@mamabeeboo Pearl is not at home, she's in hospital for her mental health.

mamabeeboo · 25/11/2025 21:24

@SilenceInside oh of course! Thank you for jogging my memory... Then I don't have any ideas 🤦

eibbed999 · 25/11/2025 21:30

Totally understand that @PositiveAttitude - stair trauma is real, I'm the same! I'm not sure the confidence will ever come back for me, but that's ok, I appreciate every step I take these days!

TragicMuse · 26/11/2025 08:23

Week 39, 10mg

SW 19st 4lbs (Jan 2025, pre-MJ)
SW on MJ 18st 11.5lbs (1 Mar 2025)
CW 13st 12.5lbs
Loss this week 1lbs
Total loss 75.5lbs

I was doing well - Sunday and Tuesday had lost a further pound. Today on WI, it’s back! Not sure why, I drank water, haven’t gone mad or over calories. Ah well. It’s all progress.

And it comes with an NSV. When I took the cords back to John Lewis because the hem came down they only had one solitary pair left in a 16. I was returning size 18, but they were a bit loose and saggy. So I took the 16s. They were snug! And the pockets didn’t lie flat. Today they fit, are comfortable and look nice. So that’s a win!

Have a good day everyone!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 26/11/2025 09:47

Lovely to hear about the trousers @TragicMuse
Isn't it brilliant?
Pre-MJ none of us would have dreamed of accepting the next size down of anything. It wouldn't have been realistic.

TragicMuse · 26/11/2025 09:56

That is very true Broon! I’d have had to get a refund and then been sad I had no trousers!

WafflingDreamer · 26/11/2025 10:05

How are you picking your target? Is everyone chosing to aim for a BMI of 25? I'm not sure that's going to be realistic for me especially in the long term as I don't want to stay on WLI forever

My target is close now.
I decided on 10st 10lb as a target, ages ago, because I was that weight about twenty years ago, and I looked and felt great.

That still gives me an "overweight" BMI (just). However, the practice nurse and I believe that older women should aim for that kind of range. We had a long discussion about it after church one day.

I mean, I could aim for 9st but it would take another year. I can't see the point. I'm already in size 8 - 10 jumpers and I've got plenty of size 12 jeans which fit perfectly.

And yet my BMI at the moment is 29.1.

As we've all said on here, many times, BMI is bollocks.

Ooh and guess what?
I've had two offers on Ebay for The Masturbator.

That's crazy my BMI is currently 30.2 and I'm still comfortably in size 18's, I could probably fit in 16 tops but I have wide hips and big thighs.

I'd originally aimed too low I think so have come up a bit but I do think my head hasn't caught up and I still see myself as fat. I wonder if realistically I might never be truly 100% happy so I just need to decide where I want to stop

SilenceInside · 26/11/2025 10:33

@WafflingDreamer I want to be well into the healthy BMI range, so maybe BMI 22 or 23. My original "final" goal is 10st 3lbs which is a BMI of around 23.5. When I get to that point I will have a think about whether that's enough of a buffer, and then maybe readjust downwards. I think that I will also then factor in fitness and body comp, as I think exercise will need to be a core part of maintaining my weight.

I'm currently BMI 26.5 so a little way to go to get to my target, and the weight loss is definitely slowing down. I am currently a size 14 top and bottom, so could go down to 12 or 10 without feeling like I was getting too small.

TragicMuse · 26/11/2025 11:19

Despite it being bollocks, I’m aiming for something in the ‘normal’ band for BMI! At my height that’s an upper limit of around 10st 13lbs.

In reality I will see where I feel comfortable.

Autumnflowers2 · 26/11/2025 11:30

Well I'm still trying to get back to my wedding weight ,which is a 10 stone loss ..I'm currently a pound on and a pound off the last couple of weeks .
Starting to get frustrated again.
I'm still like 5 pounds away from my 10 stone loss

But even that is not the end as I got married in a size 18 dress .

Autumnflowers2 · 26/11/2025 12:07

There was another study published in the paper I recently saw saying, majority of people put weight back on ,coming of jabs ..they love to project doom and gloom on to us .
I just think ,it's like any diet ,if you go back to old ways ,then weight goes back on.
So it has to be a lifestyle change not a diet ..
I currently can't even imagine getting to a point where I'm happy with my weight to come of them .
I suspect it will be dictated by finances in the end

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 26/11/2025 12:09

I haven't set a target, I've never managed to get below a BMI of 30 so I won't know how I feel until I get there. But what I do know is that I want to make sure I don't get visibly slimmer than my teenage daughter. I am very conscious of making sure that she has a positive body image and doesn't end up in the cycle of dieting and gaining that we all know too well, and I worry that if she sees me dieting to get slimmer than she is, that that would make her worry about her own weight.

yes I saw that, I think I'll just need to remember the changes I made. Like I used to eat the entire portion of a microwave rice and curry meal, and now I eat half the rice portion and leave the rest, and just pick out the chicken and leave the majority of the sauce. If I keep to the changes then there should be no reason for me to put the weight back on.
