A little NSV for me today as I went for a haircut and fit comfortably in the chair! 🎉 I’ve been putting it off for ages as I hate having my hair cut, at least partly due to not really fitting in the damn chair.

I had the same NSV this week..the very very long hair I hid behind,is now gone and I have a bob 😀

I've got an NSV.

Fourteen months ago, I put my favourite jumper on Vinted. It was a size 22 and it became too big.....

Anyway I've always missed it. But a day or two ago, I found the same jumper on Vinted in a size 10, so I bought it, it arrived today, and my favourite jumper is now back in my life.

I did similar a few weeks ago. I went to a hair salon for the first time since before lockdown 😳. My DIL has been trimming it for me for the last 5 years, but I braved it and went for a re-style. It was so lovely being pampered, and I've now booked for my colours to be done. Ive started to take pride in my appearance again, and it feels so good

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 31/10/2025 18:37

I live the jumper story! 22 to size 10 in 14 months is incredible!! Well done. It still sounds unbelievable doesn't it. I still can't quote believe how far I have come.

I've spent an afternoon clearing out tons of resources and notes and feedback forms from the job I've had the last 10 years. It was a really horrible toxic place to work - but the actual groups I ran were lovely so feeling all emotional. But aware a new me is emerging.

PearlTeapot · 31/10/2025 19:21

I looooove the jumper story!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 31/10/2025 21:42

Just back from a Halloween party, I was a bit worried about what food there would be and staying on track, especially because today is jab day, and I was definitely feeling hunger and food noise, to the point of thinking sod it, I'll just eat whatever and not worry about it. But I decided to jab just before I went (usually wait until bedtime) to see if that would help suppress the urge to overeat, and I don't know if it was the jab or just the act of choosing to take it having an effect on my mindset, but I managed to stay within my calories without feeling deprived! So glad I didn't lose the plot as situations like this are what have always been my downfall in the past - not being able to be in control of what I can eat leading to a feeling of sod it, can't be bothered any more and then a spiral into old habits.

Lds1 · 31/10/2025 22:12

I've eaten an awful tea tonight, although within calories so hopefully ok even if not nutritional.

I've done some decorating tonight my back hurts so much urghh. It'll be worth it in the end.

A funny thing happened earlier when I was getting dressed, I went to put my underwear on and thought i had them the wrong way round and that I had a leg hole instead of where my body went, so held it up a bit confused as realised it was actually where my body went they're just so much smaller 🤣🤣

TragicMuse · 01/11/2025 00:06

NSV hot off the presses!

We went out tonight, got the bus into the city. But there were no busses or taxis later so we walked home. No stops. Not being out of breath. And crucially I wasn’t wearing tights or long knickers but have no chub rub.

In the old days we’d have had to stop 2, 3, 4 times.

Chuffed with that.

PrincessEmilyC · 01/11/2025 00:36

Thankyou everyone for your responses, I do feel somewhat more at ease. Just need to make sure that I drink plenty 😉

I have a gym induction Tuesday which is terrifying 🫣 however I will be mostly attending the gym in the dead of night when hopefully everyone will be in bed as it’s a 24 hour gym. Luckily I’m a night owl and get my bursts of energy past midnight 🤣

Can’t wait for this new chapter in my life and to follow you guys along ❤️

Your losses are phenomenal and such an inspiration.

PositiveAttitude · 01/11/2025 07:50

I need some help please. I know this has been done a million times before but I can't find the posts.... I need to get some syringes and needles to get the last bits out of my pen. I have seen sterile sets, but surely I need 2 needles per syringe, one to get the liquid out and one to jab with. Where can I buy these from please? @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOnei know you have the answer to this one. Sorry I am having to ask it again.

I have had a really bad few days eating wise. This has shown me how fragile my will power is. It started when I had an unexpected gain on my scales and I allowed the "screw this" attitude creep in. I am determined to claw this back today and get back on it. It's my first major blip since the end of June, so a lot longer than I would ever have got previously.

Welcome @PrincessEmilyC. It sounds like you have a very positive attitude to this journey. You will be fine. I have not had any side effects really, certainly nothing too bad at all.

So good to hear from you @PearlTeapot. A pain about the pens, but I suppose they have to go by the rules totally!!

Some amazing NSVs and some even more amazing total weight losses amongst you here. I can't even get my head around being the weight some of you have got down to. In my head I want to get to feel like a "normal fat person" rather than a hugely fat person. 🤔😮

Have a good weekend ladies.

Fffreeeeezing · 01/11/2025 08:42

@PositiveAttitude I buy these https://medbasic.co.uk/bd-micro-fine-30g-1ml-syringes-needles/?attribute_pa_quantity=10

Only £3.50, I've seen some other posted on MN before but they were a lot more expensive I think, I've ordered these twice before and they do the job absolutely fine. No need for 2 needles though, you simply push the syringe into the pen, withdraw the liquid, pull out of the pen and then inject it in yourself, easy!

Wk36 weigh in this morning (wk4 on 7.5mgs) … 2lbs off. Happy with that given my recent slow down. Start next pen today and have stayed with 7.5mgs again as no side effects and still losing (albeit slowly!).

Total loss: 68lbs (4st 12lbs)

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 01/11/2025 09:34

Another really good loss this week, definitely glad I went up to 3.75mg. I've got enough in my last 2.5mg pen to do this again next week then will probably go up to 5mg for ease but I'll see how it goes. Total loss is 21kg (3 stone 4) in 16 weeks.

SW 139.7kg
W1 -3.8
W2 -1.9
W3 -1.7
W4 -0.9
W5 -1.5

PositiveAttitude · 01/11/2025 09:34

Thanks @Fffreeeeezing. That's ordered! 😁

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/11/2025 09:36

Meanwhile, in other news, I've now lost 42% of my starting weight.

Mind you I ate an entire giant tube of Smarties yesterday so that's probably not accurate

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 01/11/2025 09:52

Wow. So it seems like for the first time ever I forgot to jab on a Friday. Half term madness I've been like clockwork since I started in January!

My weights gone up nearly a kg since Monday due to period but I know that's how my body works. I'm less understanding of the fact I'm low around this time too!

Having said that today I'm 14st 11 which is exactly 7 stone loss since January!!

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 01/11/2025 09:59

I love reading all your updates, these are such a great motivation! My NSV this week was the realisation that my big girl pants are actually stretching much higher over my stomach than they used to. Made me smile 😊

I’m week 10 now, stats below:
W10 D1 3.75mg
SW 19st 3lbs
CW 16st 9lbs
GW1 15st
GW2 13st
Last week -3lbs (since Monday as we were away for the weekend). Loss of 36lbs in total.

I had a quite weird start for the week. We were away from Thursday to Sunday and ate out twice and had a takeaway. On Monday my suppression was gone and cravings started, I could have eaten anything and was debating to move my jab day. Luckily I didn’t because after returning back to my “normal “ diet, the suppression returned for the latter part of the week and I was feeling normal. Whilst I didnt over eat, it was a good reminder to myself about the food choices. We are going out for a dinner again tonight, I have checked the menu and will go for a fish option and will swap potatoes for a greens.

SilenceInside · 01/11/2025 10:16

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden I also forgot to inject yesterday as I was so busy with kids, half term and halloween prep! I am also up about half a kilo due to having a horrible cold this week and not really moving much, and certainly not paying attention to what I was eating. I think I will write this week off and try not to let it derail me.

Congratulations on the 7 stone loss! Brilliant progress Flowers

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 01/11/2025 10:21

I've just realised I still need to lose 1/3of me. That's crazy. I feel like a slimmer version of me already. I guess that's why we're here as I feel I'm so close to goal compared to where I started but this is a starting point for many on other threads!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 01/11/2025 10:21

@SilenceInside hope the cold passes soon x

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 01/11/2025 10:26

I've just looked back and realised that I am now the lightest I've been this year! Although it's quite shocking to realise I managed to put on 3 stone in less than 6 months with no medical reason to excuse it 😮. Last year's graph is also quite enlightening - short bursts of weight loss followed by longer periods of gain. I really need to make sure I sustain it this time, thank God for MJ!

Week 33 and just 1lb off this week which is absolutely fine, I've lost 11lb in the previous 4 weeks so I expected a week of slightly less.

25% of me gone though and a mere 1lb until I'm at the 50% there mark. BMI should hopefully be approaching 40 by Christmas(ish), that'll feel like a big milestone stone being under 40 considering I started in March at 59.6 I think?

This weeks concern is mainly that I think I need to buy a waterproof dog walking coat as I suspect mine is borderline looking ridiculous, feels like I could fit another person inside it with me. I may ask for my mums opinion on it today (she has lots of them, mostly unwanted usually!). But good warm, properly waterproof coats are ££ and I don't want to buy one only to get a few months wear out of it and then have to spend out again....... off to have a look on Vinted.

Well done to all this weeks losers (that includes people who have gained because we all know it's only temporary!) onwards and downwards

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 01/11/2025 12:36

Wow @Fffreeeeezing you've made so much progress.

I've joined those of you on here buying in Vinted. My big seasalt coat is ridiculous but costs £180 to replace (I think I got it on a good deal 3 years ago). I can't spent that now so found one in roughly my size for £30. I am worried it might be a bit small... But we will see. It would be good it it got me through the Winter.

I'm wondering about selling on Vinted but I think most of my things have been worn a lot now. I've finally accepted my origional seasalt dresses I was wearing and just kept wearing are now too big.

It took 9 months though really. I'd obviously worn them and still put on weight so to begin with I shrunk into them fitting better, then as I got smaller they were still okay as they were jersey dresses. But now the time has come...!

mamabeeboo · 01/11/2025 19:45

I'm going to jump on the vinted bandwagon.
I'm a size 18 and I look ridiculous in my size 28 clothes.

But I'm also getting overwhelmed at so much choice in the shops/online . I'm used to only choosing from the small obligatory plus sized section. It feels strange.
