I took my first 3.75mg last night before bed after 4 x 2.5mg doses and no side effects other than constipation.

Here’s how I’ve found my first day on the increased dose:
I woke up feeling very sleepy. On 2.5 I kept waking up at 5am and not being able to get to sleep but this morning was the first time I could easily fall back to sleep.
I got out of bed and felt quite nauseous. A new side effect for me. I had a protein meal replacement shake and the sickness subsided.
I’ve felt a bit fuzzy and odd today.
I managed to eat a wholemeal pitta filled with chicken and salad for lunch no problems.
Dinner was no issue either and I could’ve ate it all but I stopped in case I did make myself sick.

Currently I’ve got more side effects and no increased suppression since the increase but it’s only 10 hours since jabbing so early days.

I took my first 3.75mg last night for the first time too! I find that the suppression builds over a day or two, or at least I did with the previous dose. It's not going directly into your blood stream so it's slower to act.

I have felt a bit of suppression but still a lot of food noise. Managed to distract myself though.

Best of luck for the week :)

OneDayIWillLearn · 14/10/2025 07:42

After first 3.75mg yesterday morning, I slept badly last night (woke up hot, tossing and turning). Could be just coincidence though. Otherwise no real side effects yet apart from being a bit constipated, but it was starting to go that way over the weekend anyway. So might need to do something about that!

Fivetogo · 14/10/2025 07:43

Hi all, first time posting and hope it’s ok to join in for moral support and sharing successes and milestones on the journey!
Did 5th jab of 2.5 last week, will stay on it for 8 weeks (my doctor prescribed a 5 pen to use for 2 months). So far a steady loss 12.9st down to 12.1, target 10st. No side effects and all so far, apart from feeling tired day after the jab. Taking an electrolyte sachet and it seems to have done the trick. 1200-1300 cals a day prioritising natural protein and veg.

I also did 3.75mg yesterday tea time, my sleep hasn’t been great since I started the jabs loads of weird dreams all the time.

Ihateslugs · 14/10/2025 08:12

Well, i would have expected a decent weight loss after a violent diarrhoea episode on Saturday night the day after my first 5mg dose and two days of not eating very much. But no, a slight gain this morning! I really need to stick to only getting on the scales once a week on injection day, which for me is Friday.

Im back to normal now so will stick to my usual diet and aim for 1200 calories a day, my TDEE limit is currently 1400 but that gives me some leeway.

Ihateslugs · 14/10/2025 08:17

I’ve been using the app ReciMe to save recipes from FB instead of taking screenshots but spotted a flaw yesterday. I made some banana and carrot muffins which turned out rather well, I plan to have one or two for breakfast this week. According to the nutrition tab on the App they only have 30 calories in which seemed very odd to me considering they used sugar and flour in the recipe. So I worked out the calories for each ingredient and divided by the number of muffins it made, the actual calories was over 160 per muffin! It’s a good job I did not rely on the App, I might have eaten several in one go!

Mounjaro.

Should you increase your dose or reduce the period between doses?

An interesting video from fatoldclimber where he suggests that Wegovy and Ozempic doses last for a full 7 days and that the makers of Mounjaro know it’s only effective for around 5 days then drops off rapidly.

His solution is instead of increasing the dose to the next level to ensure suppression lasts for a week, take the same current dose every 5 days instead of every 7 days.

Definitely food for thought! 😁

Love for you to watch the video and discuss this further. I haven’t increased my dose yet so still considering the options.

Yes I think this is true for me too - definitely weird dreams and I think the night or two after jabbing I seem to sleep worse? I haven’t generally felt tired though so it’s not really a problem, just interesting!

This is interesting, I did up my dose to 3.75 as I only had 3 days supression last week on 2.5

I agree with not going up doses too quickly, as I'm not planning to go higher than 5mg. But I don't like the idea of having suppression 100% of the time, as I think it's good to still have hunger cues otherwise what happens when I stop taking MJ?

5th jab today. Managed to get about 0.8ml out of the remaining liquid in my pen. Will decide next week whether to stay at 2.5mg or not.
0.8kg loss last week, making a total of 6.6kg(14.5lb) and I’m a third towards my goal. DH has lost over a staggering 11kg (24lb) since we started a month ago and he looks and feels so much better.
So far, this has been the easiest weight loss journey either of us have ever experienced, without any major issues.

Chopsy123 · 14/10/2025 14:42

@bluepaperwaspofbxl

If you dosed with 0.8ml liquid, you’ve actually dosed over 3mg strength of Mounjaro, not 2.5mg.

A full 2.5mg dose from a 2.5mg pen is 0.6ml liquid.

Let us know if you notice any difference in suppression this week?

Chopsy123 · 14/10/2025 14:46

@maz99 Yes, I see where you’re coming from but I’ve got a fair bit more to lose for now, so I think I’ll think about tapering back once I’m near my goal weight.

lulu1921 · 14/10/2025 15:24

Hi all,

Not sure if I'm doing the right thing this week but I was due to jab today and I've decided not too, only because I'm going our for a works meal on thursday and I can't bear the idea of anyone picking up on the fact that I can't eat much of it.

The food noise is really strong today, so much so that I have gone shopping to buy everything to make a full blown roast dinner, forgetting that I've already got a chicken pasta bake in the fridge.

I'm hoping that I won't regret my decision to have essentially 'a few days off', I'm still fasting for 14-16 hours and only eating a light lunch so these few evening meal until I jab might put me back a bit but is it really that bad to enjoy myself for a few days, especially after eating so little for 3 weeks?!

I did this (intentionally) last week I.e. injected 0.8ml from the end of the 2.5mg pen. The suppression wasn’t vastly different but I would say the first couple of days felt a bit stronger - but had still worn off by day 6/7 post jab. Mine was slightly under 0.8ml if anything.

And I’ve gone onto 3.75mg this week. Good suppression today (day 2) but we’ll see for the rest of the week!

I still have a lot to lose too (5.5st)...

bluepaperwaspofbxl · 14/10/2025 16:03

@Chopsy123 @OneDayIWillLearn I did intentionally do that, but was hoping to be able to get 0.9, as I want to move up to 3.75mg but was too chicken (and an element of tight fisted) to just get on with it from the 5mg pen in the fridge. I do feel a little different. Jab day is usually hungry day for me and right now I don't feel much like eating.

Chopsy123 · 14/10/2025 17:07

It’s fascinating to read everyone’s experiences using these jabs and trying to work out if there are things I could try and tweak. I know I need to drink more water for a start!

I really appreciate reading all your posts especially as I’ve no-one to talk to about it in RL. 😂

NSV today. I went to my usual coffee morning and a couple of the ladies commented that I’m looking thinner in the face. They know I’m dieting but not about my secret helper. 😁

Ihateslugs · 14/10/2025 17:20

If I’m honest, I have no idea if I get any less food noise or suppression from using Mounjaro as I don’t really know what they mean! As long as I know what I have got planned for my meals each day then I don’t really think about food, never have. My downfall is that I eat very fast and can eat a lot in one sitting. So far ( 4 weeks on 2.5mg and one on 5mg ) I haven’t noticed any loss in appetite but I can stop eating after I’ve had my portion through will power. The previous 3 to 4 months doing intermittent fasting has taught me that and I lost almost 2 stone. I don’t buy any “ treats” or “bad” foods, just have healthy options in the house so am not tempted.

I hope Mounjaro does kick in soon, the side effects I get after each jab are pretty grim and so far it does not seem worth the expense.

Kazzaa46 · 14/10/2025 17:38

3.75mg side effect update from me. So it’s my second full day (jabbed Sunday night). I’ve had a terrible headache all day, and have just felt off although that could be the headache.
No more nausea since a brief spell yesterday morning, just currently feel a bit rough.

I don’t want to scare anyone off going up to 3.75. The side effects are manageable and today’s headache may be unrelated as it’s time of the month.

I can feel suppression today. It didn’t stop me eating breakfast and lunch and I was able to finish it which was good but I could quite easily skip dinner although I will still eat.

Bugling · 14/10/2025 19:18

Sugar free cloudy lemonade does not agree with me. I’m feeling very sick and burpy, heartburn etc. Thought it was the injection but that was on Friday. Have had some alcoholic drinks over the weekend but felt fine yesterday. Had a couple of larger meals so not sure what I’ll have lost on Friday, although my weekdays are generally clean eating and drinking tons of water! Still feeling that 2.5 is working for now.

Shwighty1 · 14/10/2025 22:05

So lots of different feelings this week for everyone! I’m having a strange one, I’ve realised I have far more energy and don’t fall asleep on the sofa after dinner anymore. I do wonder if I am/was pre pre pre diabetic! Also I’m feeling very bloated when I don’t drink lots of water, but my weight loss seems pretty stable. I haven’t had a huge amount of suppressing this week but I jabbed in my thigh and I moved my days around so my body is all a bit confused!
