Hi all, Hi , I started Wegovy in September and did 4 weeks of that before I decided to switch to MJ, this is my first full week on MJ.
i felt awful on Wegovy and so much better on MJ fingers crossed 🤞 it continues. I had quite good supression the first half of the week but this weekend hardly any which is my downfall in terms of snacking so I’ve probably undone all the good work I’ve done 🥲. I have been doing my jab on a Monday evening but I may switch to a Tuesday so I have more supression on the weekends but I also done want it to be too close to the weekend to interfere with having a few cheeky glasses of wine.

how long does everyone’s else supression work after doing their jab? When did you decided to moved up a dose? Any way I’ve got 3 weeks of 2.5mg so we’ll see how I go.. maybe the more it builds up in my body the better the supression. Anyway have a great day everyone xx

I’m about to go up to 3.75 so it’ll be interesting to see if the suppression lasts a bit better. We’ll see!

@Elliebearblues my mum will definitely be one of those ‘oh what about the side effects?’ people (though also often one of the main people trying to encourage me to lose weight!) so I just don’t want to go there. Families eh?! 😂

Well, I am feeling much better this morning and feel rather a wimp for posting last night! I took two Imodium at around midnight as the stomach pains were increasing and I could not lie down comfortably. I took another after the next toilet run and then another about 4 am. That is very unusual for me but I was getting desperate for some sleep! I did settle down then and woke up at 9.30 feeling fine.

I really don’t want to give up on WLIs as I have a goal which I want to achieve, the first part of which needs to be done this year for me to reach my final goal. I think I’ll be told to come of MJ before my knee replacement surgery so I need to lose as much as I can in the next 6 weeks. I don’t even want to go down to 2.5 or even 3.75 as I had no noticeable effects from the 2.5 and only lost 6 lbs in four weeks. It’s annoying though that I seem to have a nasty reaction after each jab, I guess I just need to plan my diary to accommodate it!

The pharmacist I get my meds from has said I could change to a different drug but he’s not in favour of messing around with split doses, as an NHS pharmacy maybe he’s bound by their guidelines? I chose to use my local pharmacy for peace of mind and I can pop in anytime for a chat if I need to.

Let’s see how I get on after jab 2 on 5 mg, I’m going to reduce my calorie intake for today and eat very bland foods. I had stocked up on high fibre things to help with the constipation I had after my previous 2 jabs but I won’t eat them now. I’m going to make some home made soup and have it with white bread. But I’ll apologise in advance for moaning on here if I react badly next jab, living alone I don’t really have another understanding friend.

I have a lot to do today to get ready for some building work starting tomorrow - new drive and fencing which will take about 10 working days. I am Chair of a group of local WIs and we have out Autumn meeting next week, sold over 200 tickets, and I have all the catering stuff stored in my garage. I need to load up my trolly today as my garage is being used for the landscaper to store some equipment in overnight and to access power and water so I might not be able to get in after today. He’s offered to load up my car for me on the morning of the event as it will be parked somewhere up the road.

I had no noticeable suppression after my first four 2.5 jabs, but I’d been dieting through intermittent fasting for the previous 4 months and lost almost two stone - in fact my weight loss slowed down slightly as in not been counting calories while fasting, just eating more high protein meals, but once I started counting them, I think I was eating more! I used a TDEE calculator to work out the calories I needed to lose 2 lbs a week which was around 1400 but I’m now restricting myself to 1200 to hopefully lose more.

I found after a month or so of dieting that I did not feel as hungry between meals and it was easy for me to avoid my bad habits - alcohol, crisps, cakes and chocolate!

I've just weighed and I’m down to 11 stone, that’s 11lb in 3 weeks.

as I feel ok, well great at times, and I’m drinking loads of water and walking more and drinking less booze lol, am I ok to presume it’s ok to loose that much in 3 weeks?

@lulu1921 Well done on your loss. I lost 10lb in my first 3 weeks and at the start we always lose more with water loss etc so it’s a safe amount to lose.

@Ihateslugs I’m pleased you’re feeling better. You had a rough start on the 2.5 but got through it feeling fine so I’m sure the same will happen on the new dose. Fingers crossed!

@OneDayIWillLearn I’m the same as you, struggle at the end of the week on 2.5. I’ve had big cravings today and tonight is my first higher dose so I’ll let you know how I get on with any extra suppression or side effects after being lucky on 2.5 to not really have any.

Exactly my point I don’t want to go there! Can’t be trying to explain myself and then talk myself out if it. My sister would be like weight watchers works for me as she and I both lost lots of weight on it years ago but it obviously didn’t stay off for either of us, she’s rejoined and I tried it for 2 weeks but it just isn’t for me x

I’ve tried so many diets but never have worked long term. In the week my supression was good so if I’d wanted I wouldn’t have been able to eat rubbish as I was too full. Come Saturday I had my usual food but then had some trifle after tea that my mother had make me and then a share bag of crisps with hubby. If the supression had been there I wouldn’t have been wanting the crisps

@Ihateslugs Good to read you are feeling better. Adverse effects are so dispiriting. Hopefully things will settle down again and it’s just a blip with the dose change.

It's my weigh in day and I am thrilled to have lost 3lb this week taking me into the 12 stone bracket (just!). This is quite a breakthrough for me as I have tried so many different combinations of diet and exercise for the past five years, but never managed to get lower than 13 stone since staring Hrt.

I'm still not really getting any suppression from the jabs e.g I have never not been able to eat a specific type of food /finish a plate of food, but something is obviously working. I really upped my exercise this week which might have contributed to a bigger loss as I have been plodding along quite slowly so far. I am still considering what to do about my 3rd pen as funds are low. Will see how the next couple of weeks go. I am sure if I do order again I would stick to 5mg as it's a huge price increase up to 7.5. I will do my 8th jab later today - 3rd dose of 5mg.

Very early start for me as workmen have just arrived to start work on a new drive and fencing, I’m a night owl and rarely go to sleep before 2am and tend to wake up around 10am! I’m wondering how the day will go with me having my first food at 7.30 instead of 11ish but I have to eat something when I take my pain meds so have had a banana already. I woke up feeling very hungry after not eating very much yesterday following my bad reaction to my first 5 mg jab.

I am planning to make some soup today ( curried apple and carrot) for my main meal, I’ll add some chickpeas to it to get some protein and carbs. I also need to make some oat breakfast bars as the two bananas I have left are too soft for me to eat for breakfast so that will kill kill two birds with one stone - no waste and breakfast for three days until my Tesco delivery comes!

I went straight up to 5mg. I just thought I'd follow what was recommended as had zero suppression on 2.5 and no real side effects other than a mild headache and a bit of insomnia on jab day. I don't get suppression on the 5mg either, but from reading some of the threads on here it seems that it just doesn't happen for some people. My only side effect from going up to 5mg was lots of burps the day after I jabbed last week.

I've decided to go up to 3.75mg this week as I felt 2.5mg was significantly less effective over the past week. I ate more than I usually have been and was getting a lot of the food noise coming back in. I almost feel guilty to go up, as feel like I should be able to have some self control, but then I remember this is why I didn't try WLIs for so long and I need to use the tool I have!

Saying that, I didn't want to jump straight to 5mg so went for the halfway option!

Yes I ordered through med express initially but used monj to find a new supplier, there’s a tonne of discount codes on there too. I’m worried about other suppliers not sending out as quickly though. So I’m not going to leave it late to order

I have used two different suppliers. Like @Shwighty1, I just go for whoever is cheapest on monj.co.uk. I used IQ doctor first time then Pharmacy2U. Both were fine.

I’ve got two different suppliers (Oushk and MedExpress). I’m hoping not to need to sign up to more if possible as they seem to both sporadically have discount codes, and I’ve heard other people say they will sometimes send codes if you’re got a gap in ordering to lure you back.

I'm at the end of week 6 on 2.5 MJ and have lost 10lbs in total.
Last week I only lost 100g though which is slightly depressing.
I'm too scared of side effects to go up to 5mg though.

I also can't feel any difference in clothes which is also depressing 😬 I tried on some trousers that had been a smidge too tight, and they're still a smidge too tight.
I'm due to go on holiday in a few weeks with some lovely friends, all of whom are skinny minnies and dress gloriously and yet again I'm going to be The Fat Friend in all the photos...

I also have found that if your bmi is below 30 as mine has now dipped it might become increasingly hard to sign up to new suppliers. I’ve had to send more pics and screenshots of orders and the pen to assure them. Their reason was because my bmi is low, ummmm no it’s not yet that’s why I still need it.

it’s good to know that they all send out codes to entice you back, hopefully that means I can cycle between two suppliers

Just done my first 3.75mg jab - first time click counting, seemed to go fine! It will be interesting to see what it’s like this week. I’m open minded about whether to stay at 3.75mg or up to 5mg next week. We’ll see! Looking forward to hearing how others in the 3.75mg club get on.

weigh in (start of week 5) today was 12 stone 13.75 lbs - 2.75lbs down on last week and JUST into the next stone bracket which I have been very keen to reach! After a not very on track Friday night and Saturday, I wasn’t sure I’d make it but I had a good day yesterday so 💪

So that’s just over 10lbs lost since starting (SW 13 stone 10lb) and means I just go under the BMI 30 level again.

It’s a slightly bittersweet milestone as I went from the 13s to the 12s in June 2024 on a weight loss journey which was meant to be the start of me changing my weight and eating habits for good. And I stayed in the 12s for a good 10 months, even got as low as 12 stone 2lbs at the end of last year, with me hoping to be about 11 stone by summer 2025. But then we moved house and I got stressed out with work and went back to old ways, and by May/ early June I was back at 13 stone, and a summer with lots of travelling for work left me at 13 stone 10lbs I.e. right back where I started in 2024, obese again and absolutely not 11 stone.

Anyway, can’t dwell on that too much!!

My next objective is to be in the lower half of the 12s for a conference I’m speaking at in mid-late November. I’d love to see an 11 on the scales by Christmas (for my 10th wedding anniversary) as I haven’t seen that since 2021, and even then it was very brief if I’m honest!

I took my first 3.75mg last night before bed after 4 x 2.5mg doses and no side effects other than constipation.

Here’s how I’ve found my first day on the increased dose:
I woke up feeling very sleepy. On 2.5 I kept waking up at 5am and not being able to get to sleep but this morning was the first time I could easily fall back to sleep.
I got out of bed and felt quite nauseous. A new side effect for me. I had a protein meal replacement shake and the sickness subsided.
I’ve felt a bit fuzzy and odd today.
I managed to eat a wholemeal pitta filled with chicken and salad for lunch no problems.
Dinner was no issue either and I could’ve ate it all but I stopped in case I did make myself sick.

Currently I’ve got more side effects and no increased suppression since the increase but it’s only 10 hours since jabbing so early days.
