Been having a weird three weeks, basically hovering around the same weight, up and down within a couple of pounds. I lost a stone during the first six weeks so am not sure what’s happening. I count calories using an app and try to prioritise protein and less carbs.
Tomorrow will be my second golden dose so I am wondering if I might take 3mg if there’s enough left to do so. Just for a boost as my next pen is also 2.5mg (I wanted to try and stay low for one more).

Ironically I lost more weight through dieting ( intermittent fasting and healthy eating) than when I began to use Mounjaro! This confused me until I started properly tracking my calories using an app, I logged every morsel that went into my mouth, including squirts of sauce, cooking oils, amount of butter on a sandwich etc and found that I was actually consuming more calories than I though. Not many but took me over my TDEE limit of 1400 calories ( I am very over weight!).

I plateaued for a couple of weeks then after using the app, then I reduced my daily total by 200 calories to allow for any inaccuracies in my calculations and to kickstart my weight loss. It seemed to work as I then began to lose weight again, around 1 to 2 lb a week which is a good amount over time, healthier in the long term than more drastic losses I understand.

Obviously you should not reduce your calories to an unhealthy amount.

What I tend to do is wear two crop top type bras from TU together. It’s comfortable and surprisingly supportive/ gives me plenty of life - plus no bulging even when I was at my heaviest. This kind of thing: https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc145441237

Definitely two at the same time though otherwise wouldn’t be supportive enough! I’m a FF cup.

I bought some Snag bras a few months ago and find them really supportive and comfortable. I have huge boobs but refuse to wear wired bras! It was confusing buying the correct size as Snag use a different way of measuring and I had to change my first order ( customer services were brilliant) but I now own 6 in different colours. Online only.

However, like you, they are now a bit large but I refuse to buy anymore as I want to lose a lot more weight. The fabric is soft so I’m going to take in the sides and straps to hopefully help tide me over through the winter, they should then be tight enough across the back and shoulders even though the cups might still be a bit big. I reckon with thick winter tops I should be able to hide the lumpiness!

I will then buy some new Snag bras in a smaller size, they are so comfortable to wear, I wore one recently during an overnight flight without rubbing or chaffing.

So my weight loss has stalled. No movement on the scales for the past 2wks but I’m still having good suppression so I don’t want to up my dose. Anyone have any tips on how to kickstart the loss again? X

Pinkbox · 20/11/2025 08:39

I‘m the same, three weeks no movement. Weighing everything I eat for the app. Unfortunately ordered a 2.5 pen again this time. I have just started back on 16:8 fasting to see if I get a boost that way.

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 20/11/2025 08:51

@Pinkbox @Absolutelycluelesss Reading the other threads, many people use fasting to kickstart the weight loss after few weeks of no movement. Fasting is not for me so can’t comment anything else on that. Only other thing I can think of is to check if TDEE etc have changed and need adjusting to retain the calorie deficit. Also depending on how much you have lost already, your body might be just “adjusting” to the new weight before it’s ready to go again?

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 20/11/2025 08:59

I’m having a very frustrating week again. No suppression at all and feeling much hungrier with the same food/ calories than before. In some reason I’m not tempted to snack or crave sweet things, but I just feel like I need more food! All the time! Like this morning, I had my normal porridge which usually is plenty but I could have eaten double. Working on my willpower now!

outofofficeagain · 20/11/2025 09:23

No real movement for me either although it’s no surprise as I’m not tracking my calories and there is a bit of ‘biscuit creep’

last 3.75 today and next week moving up to 5.

Before I went on Mounjaro I dieted by following the 16:8 fast and found it suited me, losing at least 1 and 2lb a week. I also focused on eating high protein meals, mainly chicken, tuna, salmon or lean steak with a huge salad. I cut out alcohol ( apart from one night a month) and resisted eating cakes, biscuits, chocolate and family sized packs of crisps! I’m ashamed now of how greedy I was!

I found it easy not to eat for 16 hours mainly because I was asleep for a large chunk of it and could easily delay my first meal of the day until 1 pm as I no longer have to work.

I’ve stalled losing much over the last two weeks so cut back my calories from my TDEE amount of 1400 to 1200 calories and that seems to have helped. It’s weigh in day tomorrow but I sneaked on the scales this morning and it looks as if I have lost 21/2lb this week. I have been making myself some new recipes of casserole type meals of around 500 calories but I’m thinking of going back to simple re salad type meals which I think will help as well.

Hi everyone. It's interesting to see all of your results and how mixed they are this week. Looks like loads of us experienced a lag at this stage in treatment. I Moved up to 3.75mg last week (squeezed out of the golden doses of 2x2.5mg pens for my dose 😂) and managed 1.2kg (2.5lbs) after losing nothing the previous week. We both had the same side effects as the very first jab in September. My husband had flu like symptoms for a day (shivering and feeling like he was getting ill) and we both have occasional nausea, which is mangeable. The only thing that has been an issue for me is waking up at silly o'clock and being unable to drift off again for ages. It's really irritating. I've tried some magnesium but it doesn't seem to do much to stop me from being wide awake between 0400-0500 most days. Suppression has been high. For a couple of days I didn't want to eat anything at all. Going for the second 3.75mg jab today and hoping sleep will settle down.

SW 86.5kg

My best tip would be to download the ChatGPT app if you don’t already have it, and pop all of your details into it and ask for some advice on kickstarting your weight loss. Give as much detail as possible, your SW, your CW, your dose, your calorie goal, how much Carb, Protein & Fat you have, how much you exercise etc. The more details you give, the more ‘helpful’ the advice will be.

I done this 3 weeks ago after a 0.5lb loss when my calorie deficit suggested I should have lost 2.5lb. It turns out I had to eat ‘more calories’. I was averaging 800-1000 (and not hungry). I have upped them to 1100-1200 per day and my losses have increased. I try and have a 34/33/33 split on my Macros.

Thank you! ☺️ I am currently on Week 3 of 3.75mg.

Stompythedinosaur · 20/11/2025 13:43

Hey gang! I'm back because I'm debating whether to stick on 7.5 at present or continue to move up the doses. I wondered how other people have decided?

I've done 4 weeks at 2.5, 5 weeks at 5 and now 2 weeks at 7.5 (which I plan to stay on for another 3 weeks). But I need to order my next pen soon.

Things are going quite well, appetite suppression is good, and I've lost just 2.5 stone so far. But, it's hard to gauge how I'll feel in a few more weeks, as on past doses I felt like the suppression was wearing off as I was due the new pen.

What's everyone else doing?

JustPickleRick · 20/11/2025 17:39

I'm feeling the food noise a lot more lately too! I haven't gave in and eaten bad stuff but I am absolutely wanting it 🫠 i wanted to stay on 3.75 as long as possible but maybe 5 will be needed sooner than I thought

outofofficeagain · 20/11/2025 17:55

I've added up my weight loss, and it's patchy but actually not bad at all. I'm giving myself a round of applause.

@Stompythedinosaur Wow, 35lbs is a significant loss in only 11 weeks! Well done. 👏👏

What made you move up the doses so quickly? Were you finding the suppression ok at the beginning of the week and reducing significantly by day 5 or was it virtually non-existent for the entire week by the time you came to the 4th week of a pen? Are you offered any advice or support from your prescriber?

I’ve been taking 3mg out of my first 5mg pen as I don’t want to move up too quickly in case it gives me worse side effects. Constipation has been a problem!

I’m also still happy with the amount of suppression I’m getting. Some weeks it’s definitely reduced by day 5 but I’m not too bothered by that and happy to wait for Jab day to come around. Other weeks, I’m still not that hungry by day 7. 🤷🏻‍♀️

(I used a syringe to extract the golden dose from my previous 2.5mg pen and worked out it was 3mg so I’ve stuck with that dosage for now.)

Kazzaa46 · 20/11/2025 19:04

My losses had really slowed too and I seemed to be stalling. I will say though that since starting 5mg my losses seem to have accelerated again. But I don’t know if this is the increased dose or because I’ve just got over a nasty respiratory bug and wasn’t able to exercise for two weeks. I wonder if not exercising has led to some muscle loss, although not sure how quickly that happens.

How is your water intake? I am very focused on drinking water, but the weeks where I haven't concentrated on it as much have been much slower. Then the weight loss picks up again when I refocus. I really drink a lot!

@Somethingsnapped to be honest not very good. I really struggle to drink a lot of water. Especially in this cold weather as it just makes me feel colder. I’m going to try having some hot squash to see if I can up my intake that way. As I probably only manage a litre a day x

Been too busy to post earlier... I lost 0.8kg/1.8lbs this week... kind of surprised as I haven't done any exercise since last week Tuesday. Good to know I can lose weight without exercise (didn't really believe it)

Took my 13th dose yesterday (Thursday) - it was supposed to be 30 clicks from the 5mg pen plus 2.5mg of the golden dose. But when I turned the pen I couldn't get it to the line marked for 30 clicks... there were only 21 clicks. Also, when I used the syringe I could only get 0.6ml out but the was supposed to be 0.9ml remaining.

Those of you that short dose using clicks - where do you start counting? Do you start as soon as you turn the pen or after the priming clicks (first 2 clicks)?

Start weight: 121.4kg / 267.6lbs
Current weight: 111.8kg / 246.5lbs
Total loss: 10.4kg / 22.9lbs in 12 weeks

Dose 5: 117.8kg - 0.4kg / 0.9lbs

3.75mg dose (30 clicks 2.5mg pen + 30 clicks 5mg pen)

Start Weight: 5.09.2025: 211 lbs, BMI 34.1
1st Goal Weight: 190 lbs (10% bodyweight loss) - Achieved 7.11.25! 🎉
2nd goal weight: 185lb (BMI 29.9)
Current Weight: 185.6 BMI 30.2
Total loss: 25.4 lb

Mounjaro, 2.5
Week 1: -1.4 lb

Week 9: -1.8lb
Week 10 -1.8 lb
Week 11 -2.6 lb

I was dithering about moving to a higher dose, but my next 2.5 mg pen is due to arrive today and I really don't want to be losing weight at a faster rate, so fingers crossed that it keeps working for the next month.

I’ve not used clicks so far, will be doing that for my next two doses though, but as after you prime the pen, it resets to 0 so I assumed that the 30 clicks would start from then ie 0?

Weigh in day for me and wow, I was shocked! I lost 4.2lb this week, the highest weight loss in a week so far, which I was not expecting. That’s encouraging as I was beginning to think the weekly bouts of severe diarrhea was not worth it anymore and was thinking of stopping taking it.

SW 248lb ( began using MJ)

Weight at end of week following:

2.5mg
Jab 1 Lost 3lb
Jab 3 Lost 2lb
Jab 3. No change
Jab 4 2lb

5mg
Jab 5. Lost 1lb
Jab 6. Lost 3.5lb
Jab 7. No change
Jab 8. 2.9lb

5mg
Jab 9. Lost 1.1lb
Jab 10. Lost 4.2lb

Total lost since using MJ 11 weeks ago 19.7lb

Total lost since starting diet earlier this year ( intermittent fasting) 40lb or 2.85st

I was getting a bit fed up with the slow losses up to now as I was following my calories deficit of 1400 calories and drinking lost of water so three weeks ago I reduced my calories to around 1200 per day and that seems to have made a difference.

I am coming off MJ in 2 weeks before knee replacement surgery in 16th December and as I’m hoping to have second knee replaced 6 to 8 weeks later, it doesn’t seem worth starting again at 2.5mg in between the two operations. So I’ll try to do intermittent fasting again, eating 1200 cals each day and do some exercise then decide whether to go back on MJ. I want to lose another 2 stone before my son’s wedding at the beginning of May which is a tough challenge!

At the moment I cannot do any exercise as walking any distance is very painful, I rely on either a walker or two sticks to get around but I’ll be doing all the exercises advised following knee surgery and also hoping to be able to walk a decent distance every day.

I am going to try to get to a 3st loss before my operation, only another 2 lbs!

That’s a really good, consistent weight loss over 11 weeks, 25lb compared to the 20lb I’ve lost in the same time period. If you are losing that and still on 2.5mg, then I guess there is no need to increase the dose.

Well done

Bugling · 21/11/2025 12:11

I’ve had an odd few weeks with the jabs, I started doing the 3.75 and lost a pound. Then end of last week I decided to try 5mg, spent the next 2 days violently throwing up (even a glass of water would come up) and everything I threw up had an awful sulphur taste. I was genuinely quite worried until my husband started and I realised it was a stomach bug! So 5 days later I’m still quite off food and a little weakened and not ready to do another jab! Did lose 4lb though. I think I’ll stick to 3.75 next time just in case.

SW 16s 4lb
CW 14s 7lb

so close to 2 stone loss! I’m aiming to be in the 13 stone numbers by Christmas. A nice KG weight loss stat is I’m now 10kg in 10 weeks, which is a pleasing round number.

NSV the jeans I was so pleased to get zipped up in my first weeks are now too baggy. The button up denim dress I couldn’t button over my stomach at the start? Wore it to work yesterday :) I have a couple of dresses I’m aiming to be into at Christmas.

I really need to focus on more exercise now. I am active as I walk everywhere but I need to do more weight work. I’m feeling a bit weak (could be the lingering bug)
