Well, suddenly after a stall of four weeks, I’ve lost 4lbs. That makes it a stone. Hurray!

Good to see the 16 on the scale again.

@lulu1921

This is what I bought from Amazon for the golden dose. They come in individually wrapped packs and the needle is fine and not too long.
I only ordered a 10 pack because I heard that the MJ pen design is changing so that there’s only enough liquid for priming and not enough extra for a golden dose. ☹️

They say they are non-sterile, so don't use those x

SoUncertain · 07/10/2025 08:53

@lulu1921 I ordered the ones from UK Medi recommended on the previous thread: FMS Micro Syringe 32G 8mm 1ml - got a box of 10 for the same reason as @Chopsy123. I also ordered 10 alcohol wipes and with delivery it was £15 altogether

Shwighty1 · 07/10/2025 09:07

Brilliant @Georgelassosthemoon so pleasing to reach a milestone loss!

chunkybear · 07/10/2025 10:55

Jab5 today, going up to 5mg. I’ve lost 5.5kg, so very happy with that … I think it would be more if I could cut right down on the wine but I’ve cut it down a bit 🙃
I didn’t want to know my start weight, so I’m doing this through my pharmacy and the pharmacist is taking my weight, waist and BP, my aim is 30kg by 6 months so am on course for this!
good luck everyone

Atalosswhat2do · 07/10/2025 11:06

@lulu1921I bought similar to@Chopsy123my ones are 6mm instead of 8mm. I will be doing my golden dose on Thursday.

RE your price increase, have a look at Pharmacy2u I found a code on monj.co.uk for 50 off first and a £30 off for returning (but it gave me £40 off) so my second 2.5g pen only cost £118.

Hi guys, I took dose 1 of my second month yesterday. I lost 11lbs in the first month on 2.5mg so decided to stick with the 2.5mg again, but cannot feel any suppression to it now and am worried I should have just ordered 5mg instead.

If I really need to, can I inject twice from my 2.5mg pen to make it 5mg?

Thanks
Evie

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 07/10/2025 13:01

Just checking in having just done my 6th jab. I am down about 11.5lbs in 5 weeks which I am quite pleased with.

I've decided to move up to 5mg as the side effects were minimal... a couple of dodgy tummy days where I had eaten more/richer foods on nights out... and some heartburn/nausea/sulphur burps. Can't say I had much suppression but I have found it relatively easy to stick within calories on my high protein low carb plan.

I have now hit what is usually my "sticky weight" of just over 13 stone. I would really love to lose another 1.5 to 2 stone, but first goal is to get down to 12st 7lbs. Would be great if I could do that in the next 5 weeks on the current pen🤞

Well done to everyone on your losses x

Kazzaa46 · 07/10/2025 13:33

Well done everyone.
I weighed today and 3lb lost, amazing as I went off the rails a bit at the weekend.
Losses so far:
W1: 5.5 lb
W2: 1.5lb
W3: 3lb
Total: 10lb

bluepaperwaspofbxl · 07/10/2025 15:07

Great to see everyone's progress!

Jab 4 for me and DH today. Loss for me slowed a little to 0.7kg, he dropped another 1.8kg. He has a lot more to lose than me, but I'm envious anyway.
Still planning to stick to 2.5mg, but if loss slows even more by nest Tuesday, I'll be going up to 3.75mg.
Hungry today. Same happened last Tuesday, until aversion kicked in the day after jab. Can't believe I've totally gone off biscuits and wine.

Absolutelycluelesss · 07/10/2025 15:11

Hey all. Food noise is creeping in! Jab day is Friday and will be 4th week. I’m currently 9lb down. Not sure I need to move up as I am suddenly thinking more about food and fancying things (which I haven’t had since starting mj). Scared of the side effects a higher dose will bring….

jigsawmeup · 07/10/2025 15:42

Omg I can not stop burping after doing my jab yesterday!

Burping has been one of only SEs for me. Peppermint tea sorts it out.

Ihateslugs · 07/10/2025 16:23

I downloaded an App called ReciMe last night to have a go at saving some of the high protein/low cal recipes I’ve been inundated with on Facebook reels - I guess the algorithms have gone crazy since I’ve been posting about my weight loss journey and googling recipes!

It is only free for a week and they want card details first ( so need to be aware to cancel in time) but I’ve been playing around with it and have decided to pay for a years subscription at least while taking WLIs, I think it’s around £32 for the year.

I downloaded a few videos I watched last night as well as written versions if they were there. It also saves screenshots ( the previous way I saved recipes from FB) and can scan its recipe bank to get a match if your info is incomplete ie only got ingredients. I think it’s great and so easy for when I go searching for new ideas to try to stop getting bored with a restrictive diet especially going into the winter when salads are not as attractive.

I do already use Pinterest a lot and search recipes on there a lot but I think this App complements it well.

I’m going to try Cheese Bread this afternoon, 110 Cals per slice with 6g of protein which was saved from a screenshot in my photos. I hope it will be a tasty change from my usual whole meal seeded bread.

Hi @Elliebearblues , can I ask why you're switching to MJ? I was tempted to start on wegovy due to the price difference but decided on MJ as thought if I'm paying for it I want to be on the more efficient one!

I wanted to start on MJ first but the price put me off to be honest. On Wegovy I felt awful was only in it for 4 weeks but I did lose 7lbs so that’s a start. I can also get MJ cheaper than online from a local nurse so it was a win win xx

Elliebearblues · 07/10/2025 17:16

Day1 on MJ and I feel ok to be honest touch wood I continue to feel like this 🤞 x

Yes

Chopsy123 · 07/10/2025 21:31

Ugh! I had my Covid and flu jabs yesterday and I feel exhausted. 😩
I’ve hardly eaten anything both days due to feeling tired and disinterested in food.

I bought a beef salad roll whilst out today as I was driving quite a bit and only managed to eat half of it and it wasn’t huge.

I’m going to have an early night and hope I feel brighter tomorrow. 🤞

Elliebearblues · 08/10/2025 07:26

SoUncertain · 07/10/2025 19:45

Yes

thats guttering when you feel like your losing well and was doing great to find out no suppression, I’ve heard of a lot of people doing a 5mg dose out of the 2.5mg pen, I don’t see why you cant x

Oh noo hope you feel better soon, I’ve got my flub jab Fri morning and hope I don’t feel like that. x

Elliebearblues · 08/10/2025 07:31

Day 2 here and I can’t say the suppression has kicked in yet, I didn’t eat that much yesterday, but what I did have filled me but I don’t feel too full if you know what I mean.

no major symtoms for me yet, I did feel a bit nauseous after tea yesterday but that soon passed. I’m really hoping I get the suppression soon x

Chopsy123 · 08/10/2025 08:53

@Elliebearblues

I suspect it was the Covid jab that made me feel yuck as that arm was quite achey whereas the flu jab arm was normal.

Thankfully, I feel fine today so I think it was a mild reaction. Good luck with yours but I’m sure you’ll be fine. x

UnimaginableWindBird · 08/10/2025 11:20

I had my flu jab yesterday, then went for my first meal out since starting MJ and had a PT session before work this morning so I'm shattered, especially as DH went a bit too hard on the wine and kept me awake all night with his snoring.

I had been a bit nervous about the meal out but it was fine. The guy sitting next to me was also on WLI so he ordered a starter sized portion for his main course, while I got a normal sized meal but decanted half of it into tupperware for today's lunch.

SoUncertain · 08/10/2025 12:12

@Elliebearblues I think it was about day 3 that I started to feel it, then quite strongly for the rest of the week. It builds up in your system too so each jab you will have slightly more in your body even at the same dose.
