@cloudjumper must add that I am not buying from a place of knowledge and I really cba to research as there are way too many options to consider, I have no idea about nits (well IT nits anyway) and any of the other stuff people seem to go on about. I just googled for reviews, most of the review pages seem to have been infiltrated by amazon, and went from there.

I just wanted a bigger screen with decent resolution.

Jins · 04/10/2025 10:19

Weighed this morning and I’m up again! Hopefully yesterdays jab will kick in soon but if not I’ll jab again with a dose tbd on day 4 or 5. I know it’s down to the holiday, being constipated and seeking out comfort food but in my head I’m seeing myself back up to starting weight by the end of the year. 🤣

NSV though. I nipped into my favourite charity shop and there on the sale rail was a pair of ultra low rise Gap jeans. Marked M on the shop label and 6 on the garment label so that’s a 10 in uk sizing IIRC. Too big but the waistband! It falls at exactly the right place to hide the apron belly and I don’t get a bulge anywhere. I’m going to try them on again today with a more critical eye as they really are too loose on the nonexistent bum and thighs but if there’s a chance I can style them out I will

HeidiLite · 04/10/2025 10:53

@cloudjumper I have no idea, DH buys those things, it's long and curved, if that helps? 😀

All this talk about consulting as inspired me, I think I want to find a little consultancy side gig. Not because of money, but just want to do something new and fun (while keeping my nice secure well paid day job). Will look around, maybe some start ups or similar.

MissPobjoysPonies · 04/10/2025 11:47

So I thought I’d be clever and titrate down from 7.5 to 5. I’m definitely more hungry and I’m not quite at goal (and have put on 2-3lbs) so I think I’m going to go back up again to 7.5 and then think about 10 too before I come back down again 🙇‍♀️

MJalltheway · 04/10/2025 12:23

What hideous weather! Planning to spend a day indoors by the fire today (apart from various mum-taxi duties). Going to catch up on some crafts this afternoon, haven't done anything for a while.

I tried out my local gym first thing this morning, it's a bit crappy machine-wise but it was nice and quiet which is basically what I'm looking for. And just chuffed with myself that I went in, I find gyms so intimidating!! Also did my high impact class last night and did it high impact all the way through, foot was just a little sore at the end so I reckon it's pretty well healed now.

weight was down a bit again this morning so I'm a little mollified after STS for the second week yesterday. I'd like to lose more to bring my body fat down but to be honest I'm at a pretty good weight as it is so if I end up bouncing around this weight, that'd be ok.

cloudjumper · 04/10/2025 14:11

NSV - my rings are all getting really loose now. To the point they start sliding off I I’m not careful. And the few belts I own need more holes 😂

HeidiLite · 04/10/2025 14:17

@cloudjumper I got one of those plastic ring adjusters from amazon, so I don't lose the wedding ring before I can go get it professionally adjusted.

Polkadotdash · 04/10/2025 14:37

Husband has measured me this morning. And I do come out at 5’ 7’’. Thank the Lord. But now it means my NHS record is wrong. So next time they measure me I will have grown 2 inches. It’s a miracle!

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 04/10/2025 16:08

That would be funny if it wasn't so ridiculous @Polkadotdash .

I'm still fairly horizontal here which is getting boring.

Just starting watching the Residence on Netflix- it’s quite interesting and fun.

Schnooka · 05/10/2025 00:14

Found you all! Hello again…

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 05/10/2025 06:52

Good morning, reporting in at the bench @BreezyPeer , I hope you had a great evening.

I’m still feeling very dizzy.

Now the temporary owner of two large pc monitors with another on the way. 🤯 @cloudjumper the Dell one I linked to is a really great size.

In another moment of madness I seemed to have placed my grocery delivery order for 6am this morning. I’ve been awake since 4:30, no idea why I did that, I have no plans for today.

@BlueLimes I have watched more stuff in the last week than I have in a very long time, I’d not seen Blue Lights before but had watched two series (12 hours 😱) since last Sunday.

Jins · 05/10/2025 08:17

Morning all, I’m ready for bench duty.

DS2 has been using Hello Fresh for a while now and yesterday I decided to give it a try as well because the planning and shopping for every day meals has become tedious. I now only have to think about 3 meals a week which is much better. I love cooking but MJ has definitely decreased my interest in food to the point that decision making is impaired.

I’m tackling the laundry mountain today during half price electricity hours as the tumble dryer is going to be needed. Living the dream right here folks.

I’m hoping to reverse the small gain this week before it becomes a big gain. I’ve also joined the thinner hair gang but there does look to be some regrowth starting. I’ve got really long hair, waist length at the back, so I may need some layers at some point but I’ll leave that for now. I’m not averse to a drastic cut but I’m enjoying breaking the ‘rules’ with my waist length grey hair 🤣. I love an MN thread about grey hair as quite clearly some women are repulsed by it and it makes me laugh.

BlueLimes · 05/10/2025 08:19

Checking in for bench duty.

Judgy panel are called for bench duty!!
So . . . the big news is . . . It went well. Disappointingly uneventful pleasant evening. Its been a really long time since I had a date but he was nice and kind about my nerves. We talked a lot ( nearly missed the start of the film) and the film he had chosen was interesting ( I did joke any future dates were off if the film was rubbish and he said he was worried 😅)
He'd like to see me again so I think I will do that. There weren't any lightening bolts and I'm not even sure what my 'type' is anymore but I couldn't be happier that I did it.
Thank you all for your good wishes and advice. I will assemble the judgy panel ( new members always welcome) on future occasions when needed!

SteveHarringtonsHair · 05/10/2025 09:20

Morning all.

I’m into my fourth week of maintenance. Just taken my final dose of 7.5mg which I’ve been jabbing every 8 days.
This morning I’ve weighed in at 125lbs which I’m very happy with as a pound under GW.
I’m planning to go down to 5mg next week and stretch to 9 days between jabs.
I’m really enjoying the taste of my food at the end of the eight days but still able to be mindful of when I’ve had ‘enough’. Hope that continues on the lower doses. I’m hoping this means my body is adjusting to smaller portions too.
It’s been almost ten months since I ate anywhere near the amount of food I used to consume. I don’t know how long your body needs to do that before it becomes the norm though?
I’ve read lots about set point but everyone’s different I guess.

Good luck to us all as we continue to lose, maintain or STS!

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 05/10/2025 09:28

Sounds like a lovely evening @BreezyPeer . Well done for being brave enough to take the plunge.

Jins · 05/10/2025 09:29

@BreezyPeer This Judgy panel member approves of lots of chatting. Also I find the word uneventful to be positive. I support a second meeting.

@SteveHarringtonsHair I’m currently on 5mg and still finding it pretty easy to stop when I’m full. Hopefully you’ll find the same. I think extending the gap between doses, especially when moving down, is a good solution to tapering down.

BlueLimes · 05/10/2025 09:42

@BreezyPeer this sounds good and balanced. Could we be nosy and ask age, married before? Job? Lives relatively somewhere near? No need to tell us if don’t want to !

Hope all fellow lurgy sufferers feel better soon.
@Jins I really like long grey hair 😊 mines annoying at the moment - grey at temples and midsection, not a good look so I dye it but do nerd long term plan. Going to get sone Biotin tiday, already take Collagen.
@SteveHarringtonsHair skubds like all going well @PenelopesPursuitPrevails I’ve heard that’s good, I might watch episode 1 today.

BreezyPeer · 05/10/2025 09:49

@BlueLimes that's not too nosy. So, employed in a job that involves travel but also has a hobby that takes up quite a lot if time and he talked enthusiastically about it. He's a couple of years older than me ( 50s) and he lives within an hour of me. So writing it down, it feels even better because although I obviously want someone who has time for me, I also enjoy spending time on my own and with my friends so I don't want someone with nothing else on.

BlueLimes · 05/10/2025 09:53

@BreezyPeer this is sounding positive and all judgement is reserved to date 2 😊

HeidiLite · 05/10/2025 10:04

@BreezyPeer that sounds lovely! Certainly better than 99% of online dates I've had.
The '6ft' man who was a couple of inches shorter than me - I'm not heightist, happy to date someone my height, but it's a bit much if I can comfortably rest my chin on their head. Do they think we won't notice if 6ft shows up as 5'4?
There was the guy with whom we talked quite a bit before we met. Then finally met uo and I was immediately 'nope' - nothing wrong with his looks, just didn't fancy him at all. But he, as it turned out, had already planned out our entire joint life and was very upset I was not on the same page. What do you mean you're thinking about applying for that job, what about me?? We literally just met..
There was this cute guy, great connection, lovely date - ruined by bumping into him, his wife and baby at the supermarket later that evening..

BlueLimes · 05/10/2025 10:10

Oh wow - the man with the wife and baby - how awful @HeidiLite

MisseyLurker · 05/10/2025 10:10

Checking in as I’ve been so busy of late but hit my target weight of 10st 7lbs (66.22kg) at the start of the week. 5st 7lbs off (34.93kg) and a BMI of 21.4.

Now to think about maintenance and what that looks like. Currently on 7.5mg but my provider tells me that if I stick with that I’m using MJ off-label and should be considering 5mg or 10mg. Considering I had just moved up to 7.5mg and this was my first pen, I’m probably going to have to go back to 5mg. Ah well saving money there. I’m quite happy with how I’ve felt with 7.5mg strangely had zero side effects unlike with 5mg but I’m happy with my weight so maybe 5 is right.

DGonMJ · 05/10/2025 10:14

@BreezyPeer glad to hear it wasn’t a nightmare. Watching a whole film together is brave…I was thinking a 1 hour date with a friend scheduled to call after 30mins as an exit plan 😂

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails hope the dizziness eases off today and you start to feel a bit more normal.

@Jins Since the start of term I’ve got much more into meal planning now I’m on a lower dose. I’m sure the novelty will wear off though!

@SteveHarringtonsHair I’m about 3.5months into maintenance and this last week I’ve really enjoyed my food. Things have tasted delicious and I’m definitely getting that dopamine hit from food again. However, anything too sweet can still make me feel a bit nauseous, which is a good reminder to go easy on sweet treats.

Maintenance update
Week 19 of maintenance, weighed in at 58.65kg, which is a 250g gain on last week.
I’ve jabbed 2.5mg again today, there was probably 2ml left in the pen but I’ve thrown it away now. I’ve steadily gained a kilo over the month, which I’m happy with, but I would now like to maintain at this weight - or all my new trousers will be a bit too tight! Given my original goal was 62.4kg, I wouldn’t have a problem gaining another kilo (I think I’d like to stay under 60), but ideally that would be muscle. I think I’ll see if I can go 10 days on this 2.5mg. Last week’s 2mg combined with being pre-menstrual had me eating probably a little over 2000 calories a day. And I need to be a little under that.
