Oh @BreezyPeer here here here! In fact my Sunday is very quiet so 100% on duty! Is an outfit planned or is that not cool? My only experience of recent dating is dd1 and she goes out like a stripper.

pleased ill-ers are feeling better. Lots and lots around.

I am pleased you say have a single monitor @HeidiLite. I am made to feel a freak at work. Some have 3…..

I struggled a bit with dose this weeek. Was about 9.5mg and I was ravenous the last couple of days and ended up jabbing a tiny touch earlier (middle rather than end of day). Some may be down to peri stuff - I think I may have cranked out what must be a shrivelled and desiccated egg a few days ago (always been an obvious ovulator) which would put me in prime pmt carb craving zone. What is an interesting observation for me is that I’m hungry. I’m not mindlessly thinking about food or picking, I need a bit more to eat - gurgling stomach and all. And I want filling food: anyway, due to weigh in in a sec and I will assume sts or small gain but let’s see.

MJalltheway · 03/10/2025 08:07

weigh in day today and disappointed to see I've STS again. Despite going up a dose and weighing in at 0.5-0.8kg less during the week! On the other hand I did go for a big meal out last night so maybe it will bugger off again by tomorrow 😒

SW 101kg
CW 75kg
GW 70kg

i cant remember who else on here said they had a rib defect, maybe @jins? I'm finding mine increasingly uncomfortable as I get slimmer and wondering if I should go and get it looked at again. I had it xRayed a few years ago but it was literally just before covid hit so didn't ever get any follow up on it. And that was the last time I weighed this much too, it had also got uncomfortable then!

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 03/10/2025 08:26

@MJalltheway Hope you had a lovely time. STS is annoying ... but it isnt a gain.

@BreezyPeer 💃fantastic news, the bench will assemble as required. I hope you have a great evening.

@HeidiLite thank you, it is arriving today so I will report back. I've never tried a standing desk, mostly because I love my desk which is an old oak thing that I bought in a sale about 30 years ago. I invested in a new chair this year and it is absolutely amazing comfortwise and beautiful to look at in leather (Humankind Freedom thoroughly recommend).

@myladyjane fingers crossed for weigh in. I do wish our bodies would realise that the game is over and throw the towel in at our age. The last time I ovualted I gained 2kg and it hung around for three weeks.

I'm feeling a bit better today, I binge watched Blue Lights from my bed and stayed up until about 1am so that I would actually sleep a bit.

Weighed in at 12st 11lbs this morning which is my lowest weight yet and 2lbs off since last Friday. I think I'll inject tomorrow morning all being well.

Jins · 03/10/2025 08:27

@MJalltheway yes I’m the one with the quirky ribs but they are unsightly rather than uncomfortable. I haven’t seen an X-ray but a couple are fused and flare out at the bottom of my ribcage. A PT told me it was down to poor posture but as it’s been visible since I was a baby I think not.

Jab and weigh in day and it’s nice to have them on the same day again. I’ve not weighed yet because a bathroom visit is required before I venture on the scales and I’m a bit sluggish in that department. I’ll update with the inevitable gain later

BreezyPeer · 03/10/2025 08:36

@myladyjane i will be planning an outfit but it will likely be jeans and a nice top! My stripper outfit days ( if they ever existed) are over 🤣

HeidiLite · 03/10/2025 08:37

meh just heard back from the recruiter and they have decided to proceed with another candidate due to specific experience I really don't have. I can believe him, everyone I talked to asked about this topic, and it is quite specific. Nothing I could not have learned, mind. Disappointing I never got to meet the CFO, pretty sure I would have manage to convince him I was the best candidate 😁
But then again, the job had a couple of elements that I would not be so keen on. And my current job is honestly fine. Lovely manager, great team, good salary. Oh well, just wasn't meant to be.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 03/10/2025 08:43

Commiserations @HeidiLite , I always think that its ok not to get something but am mindful of the time I have invested. I've been in your position several times over the last 24 months. Mind you I wasnt in a nice environment so it is good that you have got that.

I won't be doing consultancy 2. My time commitment wasn't enough for them so they turned me down. Not a bad thing really given my pipeline but back to the time invested, I'm doing a two day assessment next week, two whole days of assesement.

Zempy · 03/10/2025 09:31

@BreezyPeer I am so excited for you and ready to sit in judgement.

I am still 8:11 and very happy with that. I am incredibly tired at the moment. I’m injecting 10mg and sleeping about ten hours!!

Monitor talk: I don’t use one at all now. I just work off my little Thinkpad laptop. Can’t be doing with IT clutter. No mouse either.

Working tomorrow which is a pain, but I am taking the time back the day before I go to Malta so that will be useful.

BlueLimes · 03/10/2025 10:31

Ooh @BreezyPeer so excited for you. Where are you going? Make sure you have a get away early excuse, people have all your details etc (nag nag).
Big fan of jeans and a nice top - killer blow dry, lip gloss and cushions ready for the judgy bench.

ha! At stripper look - I don’t know how DD is getting away with her skirt length at school - the school badge had to be shown at the waistband so I’m really not sure how she’s managing it !!!

Jins · 03/10/2025 10:43

Excited for you @BreezyPeer and I’ve cleared my diary for judgy bench availability.

Weigh in complete and I’m 9st 0.8 which is exactly 2lbs more than my weigh in two weeks ago so not too bad. I’m hideously constipated which isn’t unusual for me after a holiday and I prefer it to the alternative.

I’m really pleased that after 3 holidays this year, two of which were AI, my gains have been minimal. Now to get back below 9 again and hopefully it won’t take as long as it did first time round

Polkadotdash · 03/10/2025 11:34

Oh good lord. I’m at yet another hospital appointment. The nurse has just measured me. All my adult life I have been 5’ 7’’. I was measured as that before my surgery in July. Today she’s measured me as 5’5’’. I got her to check it three times. How? What? Two inches of height lost in three months???? And it means my BMI is up one point now as well. FFS. Noooooooooooo

HeidiLite · 03/10/2025 11:42

2 inches?? Yes sure we shrink when we get older but that is a bit drastic.

myladyjane · 03/10/2025 12:53

@BlueLimes dd1 is disproportionately leggy and does 15 hours of sport a week. Her school skirts are so short the hem of her jumper covers them. My mother thinks I should say something but fuck it, she’s 16 once, she works hard at her sport and genetics is genetics (not my genetics obvs. Her dads).

@Polkadotdash that seems a lot? My mum has lost height and is now under 5ft but she’s nearly 80. And only 2 inches. I blame the measurer.

i did have the tinest of gain (less than 1/2 lb) so am counting it as sts. Am a nasty mixture of hungry as my body needs fuel and sick as jab is kicking in. So I ate a bag of quavers which helped precisely not at all.

Oh there’s no point saying anything, plus they have the beauty of youth- let hem crack on I say.

Quavers ?? Frazzles would probably have done the trick.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 03/10/2025 13:21

@myladyjane 🤦🏻‍♀️, my DD is 5’11 and her school skirts were eye poppingly short for years. I could often be heard saying ‘bloody hell, don’t bend over whatever you do, you’ll be showing your gusset’. Like you I largely let her get on with it. Even now she can look like a busty Tudor wench with far too much cleavage on show for my liking. Definitely not my style and I don’t understand it but I’m not 19, nor do I have supermodel proportions. She’s a good kid. I don’t get it but she’s actually much more decently dressed than some of her wider friendship group so I think I must just be too old to appreciate it 🙃.

I think I might have peaked for today 😩, I’ve worked for three hours but now feel shaky and dizzy and my head is pounding.

myladyjane · 03/10/2025 17:40

Oh @PenelopesPursuitPrevails I hope you are back in bed my lovely. I can recommend 9 bodies in a Mexican morgue for pure stupid entertainment.

DGonMJ · 03/10/2025 18:23

Hi ladies - have been trying to keep up but MN keeps crashing on my phone.
I cancelled my GP appointment in the end, neck sort of feels back to normal so might have been a muscular thing. Will see if it returns next time I jab. I’ve gained a little this week, weighed 59kg this morning, but I’m due on so expecting to be a bit bloated.

I now have 4 pens in my fridge - one final dose left in one I’ve been using since August, this will be the 9th dose with the last two spaced 10 days apart so it’s been open waaaaay over the 30 day limit. Funny how the price rise changes your attitude to risk! Then a 5mg and now 2 x 2.5mg that arrived today ordered during the pendemic. I didn’t order during the Oushk ‘we passed’ promotion. I think I’ll see how I feel once I get to end of Nov, when Oushk will expect me to order again. But if I were to stick to a 10 day dosing plan at 2.5mg on the 5mg pen I’d be using that pen for 100 days, before cracking open one of the 2.5mg.

Sorry to hear of illness, covid and unexplained shrinking. As if life isn’t difficult enough!

Thelittlestranger · 03/10/2025 21:12

Have been reading and trying to keep up with you chatty lot.

I don't know if it's my imagination given I know I won't be having another jab, as my levels have been lower than this before, but today I have been focused on food a lot. It feels like it's back to where I was pre MJ. I've kept it in check, and my weight is fine, but it's given me a bit of an eye opener. Hoping it's a hiccup and will continue to track for now to keep an eye on it.

Lots of illness going around - think my daughter definitely had it. Very pleased it's the weekend.

Similar to me but I'm not keeping them in the fridge! I've got 7-9 doses left in my current pen (dependent on if I gift my golden dose to hubby, he prefers the syringes and I prefer the other needles so it works and means the pens not open quite as long as it could be. He seems to be jabbing sporadically at the moment though, probably every two weeks. He doesn't note it down). One more 5mg in the fridge, so another 8-10 doses there and in the next couple of weeks I think I will order a 2.5 from Pharmulous. I'm also now on the waiting list for ADHD medication. They said it was about 3 months long and my current thought is I'd like to be off mj to see if my binge eating can be kept at bay on the ADHD meds... So perhaps I will use up the two 5mg and keep the 2.5 in the fridge for a rainy day...

Thelittlestranger · 04/10/2025 07:23

I had two pens, which I panic bought before the prices went up. I've sold one to a friend who is already on it as it cost less than her usual subscription. The other I was going to sell as well, but I think I'm going to keep hold of it until after Xmas. It can be used until next July. As a safety net after Xmas.

Woke up this morning feeling slightly more positive. My scales are pretty much bang on 9stone, and I expect some of that is water weight as I did leg day yesterday. Going for a run, and going to eat healthy and take one day at a time. And try not to analyse too much.

Have good weekend all!

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 04/10/2025 08:58

Good morning, I did go back to bed @myladyjane , I've spent more time in bed than out of it this week.

I'm up and dressed for however long that may be.

@HeidiLite my screen came yesterday and I think I will find it better than two. However, I decided I wanted a slightly different/bigger one so that's arriving today. That's why I am up actually, 😅screen delivery in the next couple of hours.

Feeling a bit stir crazy but not well enough to drive anywhere as I keep going really dizzy. I might delay my jab until Wednesday. I've got an all day assessment day on Monday and a meeting on Tuesday, I don't want to add anything else in my world that makes me feel less than champion before I've done those.

@Jins, did you find pure consulting a bit isolating, or even in the beginning? I am wondering if I might feel that way after this week of not leaving the house. Realise that it is very early days and I have felt rubbish so haven't done anything else at all.

cloudjumper · 04/10/2025 09:15

@HeidiLite@PenelopesPursuitPrevailswhat screens/monitors do you have? I’ve been thinking if this is something I should get - rather than having 3 separate ones… Wondering if my new company will pay for it 😜 They have sent me a laptop, but nothing else! No mouse, no keyboard, no monitor. I don't really want to start asking for stuff straight away, but this is really basic…

Jins · 04/10/2025 09:27

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails no I didn’t find it isolating but I’d been hybrid working since 2006, before it was a thing, and dropping the single office based day wasn’t a hardship. It may depend on the type of work as well. I spent a fair proportion of my time on site visits and consultant team meetings and I think I probably spent more time with project teams than I did with my colleagues. The other key point for me was that I was the only employee with my professional qualifications and experience throughout the (large) firm so there was never anyone to bounce ideas off properly.

It is a huge change and you will find ways to adapt. The week you’ve just had is unusual as you’ve been ill in the early days when doubts will inevitably start to creep in. I used to collaborate with another specialist who was the opposite of me in that she missed the buzz of the office. She used to timetable sessions in the library which helped her a lot. Personally I found that a quiet house with no interruptions from colleagues meant that I worked more effectively and had more time to myself. The other thing to take on board is that presenteeism has run through our careers and it’s not helped by office systems that record non-chargeable time. It takes a while to shake that off and remember that you are the one in control and if you want to spend the afternoon at the cinema you don’t have to justify it to anyone.

Another friend is winding her consultancy down and she’s probably two years away from closing it based on her ongoing projects. She’s doing two shifts a week in Next, not for the money but just because she fancied something completely different.

Ultimately though nothing is forever and if it’s not for you then it’s a stop gap until the right job turns up.

BreezyPeer · 04/10/2025 09:45

Morning 🌄 losers! Late start for me today. Been chilling and chatting to real people 🤣 but I haven't forgotten about you all. I'll update the judgy panel tomorrow about the date xxx

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 04/10/2025 10:06

Thank you @Jins. I have been hybrid for a long time too. My work isn't really that collaborative most of the time unfortunately. I too was a lone wolf in my workplace with no one else having my quals and not having anyone to bounce ideas off. I guess I will just have to give it a few months and see.

@cloudjumper , I've got a screen from Dell on the way. Having looked at what I've ordered with less tired eyes this morning I do not seem to have ordered a 4k screen which was the whole 😡point.

Give me strength, I've now spent the best part of a grand on two screens that will be returned. I was initially taken in by this, but then thought 'why do I need to replicate the colours on my Mac'? I work largely in B&W.

Then I ordered this, which is not 4k. God knows @cloudjumper . I decided I was happy to spend £600 and was then swayed by the Dell one which I thought was a bargain clearly because it is not 4k.
