Thanks @meatyryvita but much like my favourite pair of Miss Sixtys, the jeans I’ve made look great but don’t fasten 🤣. At least I’ve learned what needs to be amended.

Off to the shops shortly to find some alternatives to crème fraiche. The Oatly one looks hopeful @PenelopesPursuitPrevails as apparently it performs in the same way but I’ve been given a tip that blended cottage cheese (sounds delightful) can work in some recipes and as it’s very low in butyric acid it has to be worth a try.

I remember asking my mum what age I was when I stopped drinking milk and she said it was well before primary school. I’m of an age where school milk was a thing and I remember refusing to drink it for a full school day on one occasion. Having avoided dairy for the best part of 60 years it was only fairly recently that I found out why. The weird thing is that I can cope with cheese sauce but not white sauce and custard but I still use half skimmed milk and half water when making both. The family has no idea - hope they don’t read this 🤣

Have a great day everyone. Hope the job situation sorts itself out @2025istheyeari

Greetings from Barcelona losers!
arrived yesterday, lots of sightseeing planned today but currently waiting for DD to wake up 🤨 I've already been to the hotel gym for a workout 💪
been away from home since last friday so no idea where I am weight-wise and food has been all over the place. I realised when packing to come here, I've got very few summery/warm weather clothes that fit now despite having gone down a size in summer - I've carried on going!

Very disappointed to have put on weight twice in a row but . . . I was messing around with spacing the jabs out and I've just got back from a few days away, hotel breakfast and cinema with sweets and an Italian meal last night so I don't know what I expected 🤣
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing xxx ❤️

BlueLimes · 30/10/2025 09:26

@2025istheyeari all ok- decided to try to stop obsessing during my plateau. Will catch up on thread later.
Lots if positive job vibes coming your way.
Also need to catch up re judgy bench as there appears to be underwear progression !

Have great day all 😊

meatyryvita · 30/10/2025 10:02

Oh @BreezyPeer that's so frustrating!! I know that I tend to hold on to weight after a night out or some time away and so I'm sure it will right itself within the next few days.

@MJalltheway you're in one of my favourite cities! I travel there for work a couple of times a year and stay in the Poblenou area. If you're near there, I highly recommend Recasens for a lovely dinner (it will NOT help your calorie count but you'll love it!). There's also a fab place called Timesburg that does, as you may guess, awesome burgers - their chips are terrific too. Have a wonderful time.

HeidiLite · 30/10/2025 10:39

same @BreezyPeer , I have also yoyo'd a bit. Then again it's normal that our bodies think it's famine and they want to re-gain what we have lost. At least it's just a few pounds we are dealing with, not a few stone.

CurlsandCurves · 30/10/2025 08:14

Morning losers!

Another one back after a hiatus. The website is pretty much unusable on my iPad so I’ve dragged myself into the modern age and downloaded the app. And here I am.

I'm currently in a perfect storm of a weight loss stall. Perimenopause means my period is currently awol but my body feels like it needs to arrive. Constipation has made an appearance, but hopefully the fibre gummies that arrived yesterday will help that. And I definitely need to move up to 12.5, my food noise and appetite are sending me crazy. But I go on holiday next week so am putting off moving up so I don’t have to deal with any possible side effects while away. It’s so frustrating, but I just need to be patient. I had the exact same thing happen in July so I know this too shall pass.

I really did want to get to 4 stone off by my holiday, but I’m currently 4 lb away from that. Never mind, it was just a little goal I had in my head. One good thing is I’m now getting a few ‘have you lost weight?’ comments from customers at work, which is lovely.

Wow, I had no idea there was an app. Ive downloaded it, hopefully it will help me follow along better!

tinyemmy · 30/10/2025 13:16

I'm back after a week all inclusive to Egypt and I'm looking at about 1.5lb gain. I will monitor over the next few days as I feel like it might be a false low.

I haven't yet jabbed yet, so on day 10 after jabbing on the Monday before I left. I think I will jab 1.25 tomorrow morning when I've recovered from the travelling and then go back to 2.5 on Monday. Although a small part of me is tempted to try and maintain on 1.25... and leave it until Monday to jab 1.25

myladyjane · 30/10/2025 13:22

morning my angels

so after my birthday binge I am on a protein focused day only. It was a revelation to really not be fussed re cake (I had a bit but I didn’t enjoy it really) and pizza (I took half home and had it for dinner later).

today is my solo post birthday shopping day and I am having my lunch (craving fruit salad, yoghurt and water!). Well losers I am LOVING the shopping. I appear to have gone down to a 12/14 without noticing. I bought an ace bra in John Lewis thanks to fitting lady. I am trying on all sorts of stuff. Some looks awful, some great. It’s just fun. Dd is getting live blog updates and passing judgement. My favourite thing is a green wide legged jumpsuit from phase 8. It’s a party outfit really and I dont have anything to wear it to so I won’t get it but I felt like a swishy princess lady in it!

have a good day all

HeidiLite · 30/10/2025 19:37

that's fabulous @myladyjane !

meatyryvita · 30/10/2025 19:55

@HeidiLite you asked an interesting question at the end of the last page, what are the highlights we’re experiencing having lost weight?

My favourite thing is that my thighs, having been rubbing against each other for as long as I can remember (even as an older child), are now distant relatives. I’m not shredding any trousers!

I also love that I can dress without thinking about it - I.e. not worrying if my gut/butt/thighs look awful.

Actually, my absolute favourite thing so far was when I caught my reflection in a full length mirror at M&S and I actually LIKED what I saw!

OP posts:
Zempy · 30/10/2025 20:21

Yeah I have been thinking about @HeidiLitequestion and I am not entirely happy with where it led me.

Yeah, sure, I love being able to wear nice clothes and not worry about looking shit.

However, I also love taking up less space. With friends, socialising, in public, just out and about. Does this make sense to anyone else? I feel guilty about it. The feminist in me doesn’t think I should enjoy taking up less space…

HeidiLite · 30/10/2025 20:24

hmm @Zempy as a feminist, i can understand. But we don't have to take up less space and shrink away just because there's less of us. try manspreading 😁

Thelittlestranger · 30/10/2025 21:52

Is it your bday @myladyjane ? Happy birthday! Sounds like a lovely day out of shopping.

Today I have been tempted by chocolate, bought for me, and crisps - brought to my desk. Without mj I don't have the willpower to not eat it if put in front of me. I do if it's not delivered to my hand. I expect if I needed to lose a few lbs I would be able to say no, but given I'm right on target it's hard to ..I need everyone to get off half term, and back to work/school so I can get back on to my routine. The good news I did a weights session and a run today, so that should rebalance it somewhat.

My highlight - yes to the thigh gap. Quite extraordinary. And being able to wear pretty much anything and not worry about it. That is so lovely.

2025istheyeari · 31/10/2025 07:21

Hiya

welcome back @CurlsandCurves and thanks for the info re the app, omg I had no idea and it’s so much easier ( although haven’t figured out how to heart rather than thanks yet!) .

Hapoy Birthday @myladyjane, shopping trip sounds fab, what did you buy ( and I say buy the jumpsuit it sounds fabulous!!).

@MJallthewayhave a great time and well done on the dress size change!!
@BreezyPeersorry about the slight increase, I’m sure it’ll go but it’s frustrating…

@tinyemmythats impressive after a weeks all inclusive!!

@HeidiLitegreat question, mine are all quite vain 😳, I look younger, I can go into a shop and buy anything I like ( within reason) rather than buying to fit, I know my colours and my shape, I feel more confident and I’ve hopefully increased my life expectancy!! I’m struggling a bit atm, like @Thelittlestranger I’ve had lots of temptations this week and I had crisps and sweets yesterday. I wouldn’t have touched them 2 months ago, but this is life right, everything in moderation!

Right, another day another interview, so happy Friday all, prep for me!

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 31/10/2025 07:37

Morning all, Very Happy Birthday wishes @myladyjane 🎂.

I didn't know there was an app, off to look as I do find the new website a pain. Tbf it probably saves me time as I frequently can't be bothered with it 😂.

I'm working today which was not part of my plan at all. Busy day with work, lunch with a friend, back to more work and then off to an adult Halloween event in a castle with both DC (who have never grown out of these things). I need to find somewhere to eat en-route which I haven't done yet.

Happy Halloween folks 👻.

myladyjane · 31/10/2025 07:45

Thanks you for birthday wishes. I didn’t actually buy heaps - 2 bras and some pants and a check shirt. I tried on masses including the M&S barrel jeans that were comically horrific. I looked like a toddler. I tried on about 20 pairs of jeans and sizing was hilarious. But instead of thinking it was me, I thought it was the clothes so @HeidiLiteto your point about positives this was a good one for me. I tried on jumpers in a 10/small which were baggy and jeans in a 16 which were tight. I ended up getting jeans on vinted because they didn’t have quite the right ones in store - I deliberately sized up as I thought the fit would be slightly better and I just bought a velvet blazer from vinted in exactly my colour and in petite. It is a 14 and yesterday a lot of 14s were too big but 12 too small but hopefully it will be ok - the petite fit was worth the gamble

DGonMJ · 31/10/2025 08:32

Happy Birthday @myladyjane 💐

And Happy Halloween to the rest of you!

Copenhagen was wonderful! I had a cinnamon bun every day for breakfast and ate what I wanted. We managed to get a bit of walking in, despite DH’s knee, and take in a few museums and browse the shops. Yesterday’s WI was 200g gain on Saturday. I was worried it would be more as I really felt like I ate way more than 2000 calories a day.

Back to meal planning and home cooking this weekend. DS is having a small Halloween gathering on Sunday so we’re doing a big vat of chilli for them.

Jins · 31/10/2025 08:51

Happy Friday everyone and belated Happy Birthday to @myladyjane.

@HeidiLite asked a good question and I’m struggling with an answer. I’m hanging on for grim death to the positive health benefits. Excellent visceral fat score being a particular highlight. Unfortunately if I’m being totally honest I don’t look better. I look slimmer but not slim. Now that my face has lost the fat padding it out the wrinkles have crept in and my upper arms are so wrinkly in certain positions. I don’t buy clothes in shops but I’m sure that if I did I’d still struggle to find a good fit. I still have an apron belly and armpit fat that I struggle to hide. So health benefits and hopefully improved longevity are the positives and literally everything about the way I look are neutral to negative.

Weigh in and jab day for me today. Hoping that i see something under 9st.

DGonMJ · 31/10/2025 17:24

Jumping on the ‘Highlights’ chat. Definitely easier to wear clothes, easier to make healthier food choices (I still eat plenty of sweet treats in maintenance but I don’t binge), easier to move - I don’t get out of breath walking up the stairs or walking up hill.
One unexpected highlight is I don’t sweat as much, so I don’t stink as much. No longer massively paranoid about armpits and unnatural fibres!
I look better in clothes, which means I’m less likely to get upset at how I look in photos. I still don’t feel skinny and I’m not parading around in a bodycon dress. But I can tuck a jumper into jeans, or wear a skinny belt over big boxy shirt. I’m used to my slimmer face now (didn’t not like it at all at first).
And the biggest upside is going away and somehow coming back the same-ish weight.

HeidiLite · 01/11/2025 08:08

happy weekend losers!
Ate way too much yesterday, just mindlessly snacking. Doesn't make me feel good, being all stuffed and heavy. Need to remember this feeling next time I pass the fridge and grab something just because eyes are hungry.

Quiet weekend planned here, no special events.
Kids have their coding class this morning, luckily that's just next to my gym, so that's where I'm heading. I'm used to low weights and many reps, so still getting used to taking heavy weights to failure. But makes a massive difference if I do that. Then a nice long run later with the dogs if weather stays reasonable.
Maybe clean carpets or sort some drawers and other exciting stuff like that.

Anybody doing anything more fun?

2025istheyeari · 01/11/2025 08:37

Happy weekend! Beautiful day here.
@HeidiLiteI did exactly the same yesterday and had wine, again! I need to snap out of this pdq! I’m pretty sure it’s a mixture of boredom and fact I’m not aiming to lose much more, the motivational dip on the scales isn’t there any more. I need to focus on how I maintain, and I know I’ll get there, this week has just been full on with interviews, holiday replanning and a load of other stuff.

I’ve got dull chores this morning, my parents in law are coming for a week (😱) on Thursday, so we need to get ship shape! Then a lovely autumnal walk and ice bath and sauna with my bestie later. Quiet evening in front on the fire with the dog and my boys.

have a fab weekend everyone!

Jins · 01/11/2025 08:49

Happy weekend all!

I’m looking forward to a spooky ghostly walk in the cemetery of the Anglican cathedral in Liverpool tonight and we’ll be getting a train early afternoon for a bit of an explore. We were both at the Uni of Liverpool (didn’t meet there though) and we enjoy getting back there to see how much it’s changed. Lots as we started the year after the Toxteth riots and during the period of ‘managed decline’ 😡

I weighed just over 9st yesterday as the scales flickered between 9 and 9st 0.2 before settling on the higher number. So I increased my dose to 40 clicks which is about 6.6mg and I’m waiting for the suppression. 6.25 was my happy dose for losing and I had bad side effects on 7.5mg so I may be in for a tricky week. I fully appreciate that the difference between 9st 0.2 and 8st 13.8 is negligible and still well within the maintenance window but I’m sure you’ll all understand 🤣. It takes me more than willpower to avoid all the treats that are appearing in the shops and there’s a reason I’ve started a diet in most of the Januarys of my adult life.

MJalltheway · 01/11/2025 09:01

Checking out and heading home today, had a lovely break away with quite a few cocktails 🥴
booked into a spa for massage and relaxation before the flight - bliss!
Not too fussed about what's happened weight wise (ha, let's see if I'm still so sanguine in the morning when I weigh!), but I am looking forward to getting back in proper routine for food.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 01/11/2025 09:08

Morning everyone, lovely day here too although really really windy. Two of my huge Italian cypress trees have blown over in their pots in the garden. They’re very heavy! My drive up the dale to take DC2 to work was a bit hairy with tree limbs all over the place.

Not much on here this weekend, DCs are here but at work day. I need to work a bit and make a start on my wardrobes.

I’m still dancing around the same kg on and off and on and off.

I’ve managed to shrink a favourite wool jumper 😬 which is annoying, I’ve sort of stretched it back into a wearable item with steam but it isn’t quite the same 😩. Looks odd in the boob area and too wide at the bottom. Oh well, wfh wear.

Much better news is that my slim fit classic duffle coat is wearable again, I haven’t been able to wear it for five years! I remember thinking it was a big investment piece when I bought it, I went for a size 14 so that I could get big sweaters under it and chose the women’s slim cut version as the normal one was too generous fitting. Of course I did not expect to gain 5st in weight. Oh well, the silver lining must be that I will get five more years wear out of it.

I’m enjoying the changing seasons, I love autumn and where I live is really beautiful at this time of year. I also love the food of this season. Squashes, parsnips, slow cooked food, cooked for hours in a low oven.

Have a great day losers.
