An impressive 2.3 kilo holiday gain to report! Of course I could not have put on basically a pound per day of fat, but there definitely was a lot of eating and I also had a couple of drinks each day. So will see how fast we can get rid of this.

For eyebrows, yes eyeshadow and the angled brush is good. There are several brands doing more permanent tints that also colour your skin, Maybelline Tattoo Brow for example - helpful if you don't have much hair, as in this case the regular tint won't make a massive difference.

Or, if you are blonde like me and have sparse eyebrows on top, therefore looking naturally like a surprised rabbit - I can't recommend semipermanent tattoos enough. Not microblading, that's different. My tech does both hairstrokes and powder brows, I had mine done years ago and love them so much. Saves me a ton of time every morning. I also have a tattoo eyeliner, so people don't ask me if I'm ill every time I go out without make up.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 28/10/2025 07:07

Morning all, I am sure your gain will disappear as quickly as it appeared @HeidiLite .

Another gain here today, I am feeling very hot flushy and a bit hot generally, so it could be hormonal.

Yesterday I ate (all weighed and measured), porridge with a weighed dollop of unsweetened fruit compote made with semi skimmed milk, 75g of grapes and an apple, 25g of cheese and three brazil nuts, mini baked potatoes with roasted cherry tomatoes and cavelo nero and a roasted sea bass fillet. Sub 1000 calories.

400g gain. 😤Whatever.

Really busy here today juggling deadlines for two different consultancies. No one to blame but myself but I am really looking forward to Thursday.

Zempy · 28/10/2025 07:31

Weighed in at a new low of 8:8 today. I am supposed to be in maintenance. However, if I lose just one more pound I can say with conviction that I have lost five stone this year…

The dieting mindset is so deeply embedded in me.

Very busy week at work with face to face client meetings most days. At least I am having to wear “real clothes” so they get an airing!!

BreezyPeer · 28/10/2025 07:38

Morning 🌄 losers!
How is everyone this fine morning?
Me and DS are away for a short half term break, shopping and food ( !) Will be very much on the cards, xxx

myladyjane · 28/10/2025 08:24

Morning my prawn dumplings. @HeidiLitei am 100% blaming you for the fact I have ginger eyebrows! I got the maybelline stuff on the weekend and its not a great look…..

I’m pleased you had a lovely time though and that extra will go v quickly.

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails for me will you try not daily weighing for a week. You do seem to fluctuate more than the average bear and I worry about it making you down in the dumps :(

I am still seething re my style thing. I did email her and she came back really quickly so I cant fault for customer service but I genuinely thought it was more targeted than it turned out to be. So my bad I guess.

Jins · 28/10/2025 09:02

Morning all!

Quiet day planned again today. Knee feels better again which is good but taking it easy is still the plan.

I can’t join in with the eyebrow discussion as mine are huge and black and the bane of my life. So many of my friends have wispy brows from overplucking and mine just laugh at the tweezers. They are in ok shape today as I went at them but by tomorrow I’ll have the telltale black dots showing from ones I did last week. I’ve had a long fringe for 25 years - no prizes for guessing why.

I’ve got loads of work to do this week for our local councillor who is fighting off some massive green belt residential schemes in our area. 760 homes planned which is more than the total number of houses in our village and the neighbouring one combined. The idea of actually doing it has confirmed that my decision to retire was the correct one but I’m going to set up my old laptop this afternoon and hope I haven’t wiped too many useful documents. In a 35 year career I managed to avoid residential work completely and I keep trying to explain that it’s like asking a conveyancing solicitor to deal with an intellectual property matter but I’m getting nowhere. At least I don’t have to put my name to this.

Feels like we’re bypassing autumn and heading straight to January today. I’d love to see some sunshine.

HeidiLite · 28/10/2025 11:42

sorry to hear about the disappointing stylist experience @myladyjane
Hopefully still some advice you can use from it. No idea why maybelline is orange on you, I've tried it before and was fine. It won't last that long though, you should look less ginger soon!

@Jins I also find that people are able to grasp that a dermatologist won't know what to do with your dodgy hip, but other specialists should be able to do it all. Sorry, I know nothing about financial markets or the finer aspects of patents, I have people for that..

Randomusernameround2 · 28/10/2025 21:20

Hi losers! Not sure if anyone will remember me as I've taken a looong hiatus.. I originally started 30 dec/1st Jan.

Got to a happy weight in May and then stopped for about 10 weeks before going back to the jabs after a 9lb gain in that period. I've been microdosing since August and fluctuate between maintaining and small loses/gains.

SW- Jan. 13st 13.8.
GW- achieved May. 11st 7. (Just under at 11st 5)
Post holiday gain took me to 12st 1lb.
Restarted August at above weight.
New GW- 11st.
CW- 10st 13.
(5ft 7.5 for reference).

Since August I have been taking between 3/3.33mg from a 5mg pen.
I have another 5mg in the fridge and plan to take 2.5mg from the whole pen. Not sure on my plans after this. Ideally, I would like to stay on a low dose long term as the jabs do wonders for a chronic health condition I have.

Just thought I would drop in with an update and say hi! Going to have a good read through of everyone's progress now 😊

BreezyPeer · 28/10/2025 21:47

@Randomusernameround2 Welcome back! Great stats and another one for our growing band of maintainer.
My big news of the day is I tried on and bought some new bras! I bought new knickers too but they are exactly the same as my old ones just smaller! I hope this is going to help me look less bumpy under clothes ( This is more important than I thought it would be in dating!) Xx

Really great to hear from another maintainer, sad that you couldn't maintain off mj (I'm not sure I can either, I've not tried) but I think it helps with my autoimmune thyroid disease. I've just had more get up and go since being on it although could also be a reduction in sugar (that I'd have never made off of mj). I've been on 2.5 almost entirely since end of May (I've been up to 3.75 a couple of times and with the whole titration thing this has meant a number of weeks at a higher level) although I noticed more recently that more sugar has found it's way into my diet and I may up my dose. Currently on holiday, I feel like I've gained, I would normally jab Monday but decided to miss it while away this time so need to decide whether to jab on Thursday morning and Monday both with 2.5 or with some variation - perhaps 2.5 or a dose that would get me back up to the top of 2.5 and then a dose on Monday that will do the same so I can go back to weekly 2.5 or perhaps use this as an opportunity to try a lower dose... It's difficult to tell how I feel. I've definitely noticed more treats at the end of the holiday than at the beginning, but still not ridiculous. I will have to see if the binge eating returns when I get home.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 29/10/2025 07:25

@myladyjane thank you 🤗, however, I weighed before I checked in and I am now at my lowest weight yet - 80.2kg🙃. Whoever thought it. Long day yesterday with a hideous drive, beautiful scenery but at least 60 miles on B roads.

The style thing sounds very annoying. I've never gone down that route. My DD tells me I am a winter, I was often called 'Snow White' by my team. When I said what does that mean then, DD rolled her eyes and said 'Snow White' mum 😂.

I wore a fitted, tailored dress yesterday which I bought a couple of months ago on ebay BNWT for £20 (instead of £200) in a size smaller than I already owned it in, it was very roomy - I wouldn't buy it now I would say it was too big.

Have a good day losers, straight to my desk this morning.

BreezyPeer · 29/10/2025 08:03

Morning 🌄 losers !
We will be going home from our little break this morning as DS has a sports event to attend.
We've had a lovely time, food not too healthy but not too much so . . . We'll have to see.
Hope everyone has a good day xxx

Zempy · 29/10/2025 08:17

Welcome back @Randomusernameround2 and well done @PenelopesPursuitPrevails. I am also at my lowest weight today, 8:7 and that gives me the exact five stone loss I was hoping for. I am pretty much aiming to maintain now between here and not going as far as 9 stone. I will continue to reduce my jabs dose but I am definitely better off jabbing weekly rather then spreading it out.

Thelittlestranger · 29/10/2025 08:43

@Zempy @PenelopesPursuitPrevails what lovely polite scales this morning. Congratulations!

@Randomusernameround2 nice to see you!

I'm back from my few days away and weighed in at 9stone, so my usual top weight. Given I had no holds barred on food, very happy with that. I suspect it's the running I did while there - which was part of the fun and not considered exercise. Such a lovely way to see a different part of our beautiful country.

Back on it today, for the next few days or until I'm back down to 8.12. Might try to get it to 8.10 in November ahead of Christmas. Hmmm...

I can safely say I have no MJ left in my system after nearly 4 weeks and this is me on my own now. I can see the difference when it comes to chocolate and crisps. But - at the moment, it's working keeping those (mostly) to the holidays and weekends.

cloudjumper · 29/10/2025 13:10

Hi all, hope you’re all good! I’m struggling to keep up with all the chatting! Will try to catch up asap.

Im still plodding along, weight loss is about 0.5 kg a week, if that. Even less this week, boo. I still have at least 3 kg to go, but would like to lose another 10 ideally.
i think I messed up my jab last night… the priming didn’t seem to work, and I stupidly just went ahead and jabbed anyway, instead of changing the needle. I could barely press down the plunger, and there seemed to be a lag/delay with the liquid coming out of the pen - when I pulled out the needle, the liquid was still squirting out! So I don’t think I got the full dose… this is going to be an interesting week then!

Jins · 29/10/2025 16:29

Afternoon all. I’ve struggled to post on MN today as I keep being logged out.

Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives to crème fraiche? My supertaster senses can’t cope with it (or most dairy except cheese) and Hello Fresh use it a lot! I couldn’t eat yesterday’s meal as the taste was overwhelming. The combination of crème fraiche and Parmesan was just too much butyric acid for me 🤮

In other news I’ve dropped one of the pesky pounds and completed my trial jeans (loads of adjustments needed but good practice). The knee continues to improve which is good as I’m off to Liverpool at the weekend for a ghostly tour of a cemetery. I’ll be taking my stick to ward off the phantoms.

Zempy · 29/10/2025 16:47

Sour cream?

Polkadotdash · 29/10/2025 16:50

@jins quark?

Jins · 29/10/2025 17:04

Sour cream won’t work. The taste of vomit is very strong with that. Quark might be worth a try. I’ll pick some up along with some vegan alternatives. It’s my worst food issue. I can get over the soapy coriander and the hydrocarbon peppers but food that tastes as if someone has already eaten it is a step too far for me.

DH is my official ice cream taster. It’s a tough job but he’s trained hard for it

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 29/10/2025 17:44

@Jins, we use a lot of non-dairy products here. Oatily do an oat creme fraiche which is fairly acceptable, in the chilled cabinet.

The H&B tablets seem to be making a slight difference, slowly.

I seem to have skipped 💃through another week, surprised to see it is jab day tomorrow.

2025istheyeari · 30/10/2025 06:48

Hi losers!

@HeidiLite that’ll disappear super quickly, bet some of it has already!!

Yay, amazing @PenelopesPursuitPrevails and @Zempy, so pleased!

Welcome back@Randomusernameround2 and thanks for sharing what you’re doing!

@BreezyPeer well done on the underwear! Hope you’ve had a great break.

@Thelittlestranger well done, sounds like a fab break!

@cloudjumper hi, keep keeping on, you’ll get there!

I’m still holding on to 2 pounds of my weight, but it’s fluctuating as is my eating, I guess this is maintenance right! I’d love to get to 10 7 by Christmas just to see if I can, so 4 pounds away. Let’s see.

Busy and slightly frustrating week here, 2 more interviews and 1 they want to move to offer, but issue on budget, it’s the one I really want and have had 6 (!) interviews for. One option is I go part time which is pretty appealing to be honest!
I’ve got a bad case of perioral dermatitis so on antibiotics for a month and my skin is so dry 🙄.

Off out for a good stomp with a friend and the dogs this morning, have a good Thursday!

meatyryvita · 30/10/2025 07:54

Good morning losers! I’ve had a busy week at work so far hence the radio silence. Best wishes to losers, gainers, jeans-makers (so impressive @Jins !). I hope all the holiday makers had a fantastic time too.

I’m in my last week of 1.7MG which I’ve topped up to 2.2mg and am delighted to report a 1.7lb loss this week - it’s the most I’ve lost in months! I’ll top up again this week and then next week week am officially on 2.4mg.

Have a great day losers!

Hey everyone! After being rewarded by the scales the other week I seem to have annoyed them again by switching medication to wegovy and they’ve gone back up 2lbs! 😡😤 I don’t think it’s helped by not having been to the gym for two weeks (battling head demons, a bad back and now half term) so I’m going to press the reset button on Monday (can’t really do it before as DC are too little to look after themselves and DH working more now after part time hours to manage his elbow physio appointments) and refocus on a new training plan, drinking enough water and protein, protein, protein. Fingers crossed I can force my body to cooperate again!!

CurlsandCurves · 30/10/2025 08:14

Morning losers!

Another one back after a hiatus. The website is pretty much unusable on my iPad so I’ve dragged myself into the modern age and downloaded the app. And here I am.

I'm currently in a perfect storm of a weight loss stall. Perimenopause means my period is currently awol but my body feels like it needs to arrive. Constipation has made an appearance, but hopefully the fibre gummies that arrived yesterday will help that. And I definitely need to move up to 12.5, my food noise and appetite are sending me crazy. But I go on holiday next week so am putting off moving up so I don’t have to deal with any possible side effects while away. It’s so frustrating, but I just need to be patient. I had the exact same thing happen in July so I know this too shall pass.

I really did want to get to 4 stone off by my holiday, but I’m currently 4 lb away from that. Never mind, it was just a little goal I had in my head. One good thing is I’m now getting a few ‘have you lost weight?’ comments from customers at work, which is lovely.

HeidiLite · 30/10/2025 08:25

morning all,

sorry to hear about the perioral, @2025istheyeari . It is a total pain, isn't it. Also had to do oral antibiotics again last year when creams just stopped working and I had a permanent red beard effect.

Excellent, @meatyryvita ! I'm sure you'll get to goal by Xmas.

one kilo of holiday weight off but other still around, so at the moment I'm up 3 kilos from my goal weight. Need to be stricter again, and honestly getting a bit tired. Can't the weight just behave and stay stable?
Well I know it can't and it will be a lifelong effort. Luckily it is easier with drugs. next time, I do need to make an effort to lose a couple of kilos before holidays, so it's easier afterwards. 60 kilos today, GW 57 and ideally would want to be 55-56 before Xmas, to have a buffer.

But even if it requires constant effort, I really don't want to regain the weight again, because being slim is just so so fabulous, isn't it? I actually like my holiday photos. Everything fits - turns out it's so easy to be stylish and put together if you don't have to think about garments' flab hiding properties. Running - I still don't like it much, but thinking about signing up for a couple of races, because it's so much easier. And I just love being in front of my fitness classes knowing that people are not thinking that 'oh she's actually quite fit even though she doesn't look it' (overheard one client saying that to another in the changing room).

What are your highlights, losers?
