Hi all, popping back into the thread after a long time away.

Yesterday I weighed in at 9st 13, which is great as I’ve been in the 10s for months. Feels so strange to think I started in January in the 15 stone bracket so I’ve seen 7 stone brackets in that time! (If that makes sense…!)

I’m off to sunnier climes for a break next weekend, and for the first time I plan to skip a dose as I don’t want to take my pen with me- I’m quite nervous about it, I hope I’m not ravenous whilst away.

I am beginning to think ahead to titrating down the doses after my next 10mg pen though, so I’ll be reading up on people’s experiences on this thread and others on the site.

Happy weekend all.

BreezyPeer · 18/10/2025 08:31

Morning 🌄 losers!

I will read and respond to the thread tomorrow. ( sorry time is just running away from me)
I'm also going to be assembling the judgy panel! Two dates this week so plenty of judging and advice needed xx

Jins · 18/10/2025 09:06

Welcome back @LillethCrane. You’ve done so well! That’s a huge number of stone brackets to drop.

I’ve got a quiet Saturday on the horizon and I’m going to enjoy it to the full. Then tomorrow it’s MILs 90th and DH and the lads are off to celebrate with her. I’ve made my apologies for that and will see her another time. I’m brewing a cold/tonsillitis and it’s the last thing she needs. Also I can’t stand BIL 🤣

I’ve had a quick survey of tops and it’s a bit desperate. I don’t mind wearing oversized sleeveless tops and camisoles but the few that I have with sleeves are just too big. I’ve put a pile of the ones that may be salvageable next to my sewing machine. I’m not sure what to do with the others as they are handmade. I guess charity shops can rag them if they can’t sell them? I’m a big fan of a cardigan as well and they are all only fit for wearing round the house. So I need to find a couple of new ones and while there’s loads in knitwear I’m trying to replace one in almost sweatshirt fabric that looked like a casual jacket. It also has to have a V neck. Haven’t found anything so far so I guess I’ll be making one of them as well.

I emptied the veg drawer yesterday of all the tired veg and made two soups, a tomato and pepper one with a hint of chilli and another with everything else. Both delicious and both impossible to replicate. There won’t be much going into food waste nowadays since I got my soup maker.

Have a great weekend!

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 17/10/2025 09:31

Thanks @MJalltheway , Farmeci have confirmed they have issued a refund which is good. I love Copenhagen.

Have a great time @2025istheyeari .

Are you local @Zempy ? My kids spent most of their summers at CH, in the good old days when HHA membership got you in all year round rather than just once a year. Neither of them are up yet so it looks like we will be arriving for lunch.

I am going to get vinting this weekend, forecast for Sunday is dreadful so I think that might be the day.

No but my aunt lives in York.

On my way back from Malta. I am expecting a significant gain!! It’s been lovely. I could easily spend two weeks here.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 18/10/2025 09:25

Very impressive @LillethCrane , well done, you must be thrilled.

Quiet day here apart from our postponed walk. I had the worst night’s sleep in the world. I actually got up and did the washing up that had been left in the sink 🤬 after I’d gone to bed. After an hour I brought my laptop to bed and created new calendars for all my different workstreams, then I bought some new shoes 😻. I went back to sleep at 4:30am and set an alarm.

I’m still very tired post that virus two weeks ago, obviously not sleeping well isn’t helping.

I think I’ll restart my ifit membership today and find a walking series. I’ve taken on too much work and I know that I won’t go to a gym enough given what I’ve signed up for 😬.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 18/10/2025 09:34

Safe trip home @Zempy . York is a nice place. I’ve considered moving into the city for my retirement, not sure if I will. Am very close to it so it’s somewhere I go most weeks for various things.

Jins · 18/10/2025 09:57

I love going to York. Haven’t been for a few years but we’re booked onto a site towards the end of November. We’ve been lucky in the past to get a pitch on the city centre campsite but no luck this time. Then I think we’ll be putting the caravan to bed for the winter.

Glad you enjoyed Malta @Zempy. There’s so much more that we didn’t manage to see so a return visit is inevitable. Plus it was amazing to meet up with my friend after many years and I want to do that again!

Thelittlestranger · 18/10/2025 11:02

My daughter goes to York uni - it's a beautiful place!

Noticing the lack of mj in my system now. 3 weeks post jab, and last night I had the Friday fuckits for the first time this year. It was still quite tempered compared to before, but it was noticeable. Luckily I have planned for this in my weekly cals but I had to remind myself that it didn't make me feel great.

Have just got back from a 5 mile run in penance. Three weights sessions and three runs this week and average of 1550 cals (approx) seems to be my maintenance sweet spot.

@LillethCrane impressive results. Well done!

DGonMJ · 18/10/2025 11:38

Morning all, it’s the morning after our anniversary night away 🥰. We’ve checked out of the room but can use the spa till 2.
I’m so happy to not be feeling self-conscious in the spa.

Jabbed 2.5mg last Sunday and didn’t really feel the suppression till Friday, which is not really what I was hoping for. Skipped breakfast, had a good swim after lunch, but dinner was still a bit of a struggle last night, although made it through dessert. And despite waking up hungry I couldn’t finish my full English (DH very happy to help out)! However, it’s reminded me that the portions I was eating on the lower 2mg dose were probably a little bit too big and the weight was creeping back on (also daily cake).

Will jab 2.5mg again tomorrow, but will try and focus on protein & veg again this week. And keep carbs to whole grains only.

It’s been a busy and stressful week at work, and definitely needed this break. It meant I couldn’t get much exercise in. But a little swim yesterday, some more today and then heavy weights tomorrow hopefully make up for a sedentary, brain-draining few days.

HeidiLite · 18/10/2025 11:57

I'm DC taxi today, they had a computer programming class (in Switzerland) and will now go to painting (in France). I do love where we live but it's a small village, so even though in theory we are 10-15 min from nearest towns where all the activities are, public transport is close to non-existent.

While they had their computer class, I did some light shopping. Saw a cute pair of trousers and again my first thought was that 'haha those are tiny, no way will they fit me'. Not only did they fit, they were too big and I bought a size down.

And I think I could actually get away with higher necked tops. Have only been wearing big boob flattering lower necks my entier life, but tried some higher necks and actually, not so bad. Will again open up a lot of options, also much cosier for winter.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 18/10/2025 12:34

@Thelittlestranger so does one of mine! Lived at home for year one and commuted but decided to live with friends. Took me a while to get my head round spending thousands on rent when it’s so close, but I did and am pleased he moved into the city tbh (although he does come home a fair bit as he still has stuff going on where we live).

Zempy · 19/10/2025 08:15

Weighed in after holiday. Gained three pounds in four days 🫣 am now 8:13 which is obviously SIGNIFICANTLY better than 9:0.

I am weirdly looking forward to getting back into the swing of my usual routine between now and Christmas. It’s a “hunkering down” time of year for me. One I don’t enjoy weather wise due to arthritis pain. I do luxuriate in a bit of hibernation though!!

HeidiLite · 19/10/2025 08:37

of course 8:13 is totally different than 9. Just like 59.9 is nothing like 60kg :D
But 3 pounds holiday weight is totally reasonable.

I definitely feel more snacky with weather cooling down so also have to rein it in this week, Athens next weekend and I'm sure will gain some weight there. Maybe even add some longer runs for cardio and calorie burn.

MJalltheway · 19/10/2025 08:50

3lbs is not at all bad for a post-holiday weigh-in. That'll disappear in no time once you're back in routine.
Was feeling very tired yesterday so stayed in bed instead of going to the gym in the morning - it was a very unusual and welcome lie-in!
just about to go into the gym this morning instead but have hopped on to say this morning's weigh-in has me at 73kg - OFFICIALLY 28kg lost now!!! 🤯
Have a great (albeit rainy!) day all 😁

HeidiLite · 19/10/2025 08:57

@MJalltheway I challenge you to go to gym and pick up a 28 kilo weight. Then imagine carrying this around all day and night.

BreezyPeer · 19/10/2025 09:51

Morning 🌄 losers!
I am (finally) having a quiet day to catch up with you all.
@Jins you are so right about the tops. Friday night I put on one if my 'banker' tops, red long sleeves, suits me, floaty, you know the one! Anyway, put it on and it had developed a cowl neckline- not in a good way! So, another one for the vinted pile and another new top I need to buy (shame!)
Soup maker sounds amazing although I am trying not to but too many kitchen gadgets. ( recently got an air fryer - life changing!)
@Zempy Malta sounds amazing! I've never been, would love to go sometime.
@LillethCrane well blooming done!!
@PenelopesPursuitPrevails isn't it funny how things work out? All that worrying about work and then you worked so hard you have more than enough work now!
Sleep 😴 is so easy to underrate when you are getting enough but it's a nightmare when you aren't.

I enjoyed the vision of you doing early hours washing up! When I have suffered a bit from insomnia in the past, I have never considered doing any actual chores 🤣 I would watch the telly with the sound down or read a book. You are productive even I the middle of the night!
@Thelittlestranger so interesting to hear how the reducing MJ is affecting you. York Uni is a great call. I can imagine everyone wants to visit there!
@DGonMJ Spa day! Sounds wonderful. What a relief to be able to enjoy it with no body image concerns.
@HeidiLite your international travel all in a week's work sounds so exciting! ( I'm sure it's not!) High necked tops for the winter does sound cosy.
I am going to try to pick up 31kg which is my current loss when I am in the gym again. I think that will really help me to visualise the change
@MJalltheway thats is a fabulous loss!!

I've had a couple of dates this week.

Two lovely men. Both very different. Conflicted about what to do next. - Good position to be in!

Have a great Sunday everyone! Xx

myladyjane · 19/10/2025 09:51

@Zempy 3lb post holiday will settle immediately

@MJalltheway that’s ace.

i love autumn. It feels cosy and celebratory and I find myself more inclined to go for long walks and be outside. I do like to hunker too but a mix. today will be pretty good - lie in, tea in bed, walk with my mum for a couple of hours, family lunch, some weights/yoga, an everything shower and then pjs and hunker.

i am not sure what’s going on weight wise. Still not quite up to the full 10mg but my wind symptoms are pretty bad. My sleep is disturbed and I’m weeing for England which I seem to recall having before but my weight is sts. I am a set point for me though so I guess battle on through and increase the bloody activity as I’ still too sedentary.

myladyjane · 19/10/2025 09:54

@BreezyPeer maybe asking for advice on positions is a bit much ;)

my advice is to keep it casual with the ones who make you smile the most,

Thelittlestranger · 19/10/2025 10:25

@BreezyPeer if you weren't to see either of them ever again would it bother you? Don't settle...😜

Yesterday I had a lovely afternoon with my friends drinking fizz, and then had to abandon our house as my 17 year old was having a party - so went to the pub. The ratio of alcohol to food yesterday was not balanced at all so I'm looking forward to having a fresher, day today. No exercise planned - my body feels a little tired and I usually do Mon,Tues, wed and Thurs exercise. So today is about self care. Oh, and getting an assignment done for my course.

I love Autumn. The colours look beautiful at the moment and I welcome the longer evenings. To a little bit at least.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 19/10/2025 10:44

Wow @BreezyPeer you are a dating demon. Honestly I take my hat off to you, amazing! I hope you are enjoying meeting your dates.

@myladyjane I love autumn too although I still have absolutely no energy at all post that virus I had so haven't done anything other than walk.

Today is meant to be starting Vinting day, we shall see. It isn't raining yet and that was my reason for starting 😂. Maybe I will start with shoes. Tbh the thought of ironing everything to photograph it (presume you do this with things that actually need ironing) puts me off.

Back down to 12st 12lb today which I first achieved 3 weeks ago. I'm planning on stopping at 11st 10lb so fingers crossed I acheive a bit of a downward trend in the next month. I can see my face changing now, in particular my top lip looks older with my weight loss. I have always looked youthful for my age so it is really noticable (to me).

@BreezyPeer you are right, I have taken too much on and am committed for more than full time hours for the next six months. No idea where that came from tbh. I'll still be working less than I used to I guess as I worked full time and had my consultancy work but I'll see how it goes. I will make sure I don't commit to this much work after March when I will be less inclined to be behind a desk, I won't mind it so much in the winter. I'm so grateful I bought my new office chair, honestly it is blissfully comfortable and puts me in a really good place posture wise.

I am going to poach a chicken today, I haven't done that for decades and not sure where it came from but I fancy poached chicken in a broth in a bowl of rice and vegetables for dinner.

@Thelittlestranger the autumn colours are really beautiful. The Stray at Castle Howard, where we walked this week, was simply stunning with the changing colours on the trees.

myladyjane · 19/10/2025 14:33

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails get vinting - I rarely do but did last week and everything has sold (and dd who vints a lot has seen a real flurry too)

HeidiLite · 19/10/2025 14:43

@BreezyPeer just keep dating them until it's clear which way it's going. No need to decide after first couple of dates.

Had another run with dogs but really have to work on training the beasts. They are friendly dogs, but young and curious and if they see another dog, they (mostly the male) simply does not listen. Today he pulled so hard I almost fell over and my Garmin was about to make an emergency call 😁Also not helped that both together they are now significantly heavier than me.

DGonMJ · 19/10/2025 15:44

Hello all,

Went to the gym today and did heavy but not max heavy on the weights. Now in the middle of prepping a roast and an apple custard tart for later. For the first time in a while I’m not batch cooking soup, we have enough! But I’m making a great big dish of cauliflower cheese so we can portion that up for the freezer. Menu is planned for the week - chicken puttanesca, prawn burgers, turkey steaks, chicken noodle soup and a fish stew.

Weekly maintenance weigh-in and I’m at 58.9kg which is a gain of 0.4kg. Not bad after a weekend away. Jabbed 2.5mg after only 7 days and the suppression feels quite high. Depending on where my weight is next Saturday, I may reduce to 2mg next week, or space out the dose till I’m back from our trip to Copenhagen. I find it really reassuring being in maintenance while on a low dose - I can still play around with dosage and timings to keep on top of any gains.

@BreezyPeer all feels early days to be making a decision, but a lovely problem to have!

I love autumn too. The golden trees, the cosier nights in, the wool coats and boots aesthetic. I need a new pair of knee high boots. Think it’ll help with keeping the skirts & dresses on rotation.

PenelopesPursuitPrevails · 19/10/2025 16:22

@BreezyPeer I agree with @MJalltheway , it is a nice problem to have and a world away from everything you read about online dating. You must be very good at sorting out the wheat from the chaff.

@myladyjane I've actually swerved Vinting for today (no surprise) 😬. I need to organise my clothes and actually put away loads of clean laundry which has mounted up since I was unwell. I haven't got rid of all of my summer clothes yet from my wardrobes, add to that the fact that I have bought a few things and it is chaos.

I might set myself a target of two items a day for a fortnight once I've sorted out what I want and see how it goes.

@MJalltheway I love boots and have got far too many pairs. I bought a cord dress from Hush and a black denim skirt from Whistles today, if they are keepers they will be good with boots. Brand Alley have got some very nice boots at the minute, including Russell and Bromley. I have restrained myself as I bought some shoes this week (but I will probably regret not buying them).

I love cauliflower cheese, something I make myself when I'm home alone, I make it even worse by adding breadcrumbs and truffle on the top.

Very rainy here now, I have poached a chicken and made an Asian broth which just needs straining. I'm hoping that it all comes together well as I need comfort food.

myladyjane · 19/10/2025 16:40

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails I made spicy noodle soup last week (prawn for me, chicken for dd) when we were ill and it was delicious I must say. I poached them shredded a chicken breast for her. Enjoy.

i just had the tiniest portion of apple crumble and literally less than a tablespoon of custard and it was too much and too sweet. My walk was nice and very autumnal.
