We have all been on for over a year now

Last month the year before , we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

Some are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it
And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did

Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots - I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

Blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This year will almost be harder. To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely

Waves to @Slimhopes

@FurForksSake why didn’t you weight ? You may have surprised yourself

I increased c by 500/600 and was still losing each week when didn’t want to

@Weepixie maintaining while still on mj - I think many or maybe just me is scared to come off it as 1) can we get back on tho juniper and pharmo are a yes - Ousch I’m peeved how sneaky and snide their advertising is 2) to have to start back at 2.5

im not making anyone feel guilty and obv anyone can post anywhere.

I’m just aware how supportive this thread was for me /others when losing and know still some on here who want to lose more and be nice for us who have got to where we want to still be cheering them on

I’ll still be here!

@Blondeshavemorefuni had to drop a child to breakfast club and chivvy the other to get on his bike and go. I’m really scared to up my calories, which is probably why I should! I’m trying to add in some protein shakes as my hair is shedding again!

I’m definitely worried I won’t be able to maintain without mj with how sedentary I am and how low my mood can be.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2025 21:03

@PoemsForTea and @morbidcuriosity glad still here

@FurForksSake luckily never lost any hair but I’m also very sedentary so don’t worry

morbidcuriosity · 10/09/2025 21:25

I'm very worried about having to come off.. I think I will come down the dose, make my pens last longer then when finally run out see how I go, then can always start wegovey if needed.. my friend is on 5 and swapping over so will see how she goes with it..

Azuresky68 · 10/09/2025 21:36

I am still here. As you know I regularly post and this group is my main one. But it started to feel lonely as hardly anyone was posting and I felt like I might be boring people with my posts.
I have been on the maintenance one too but it's not quite the same as we have been together here a year now and we chat about other things too.
@Blondeshavemorefun what's the latest on Ouschk...how are they being sneaky? Unless things change I will probably have to move suppliers as Oushk is so expensive for postage. While ever we had the maintenance code they were competitive but not anymore.
It will be a great loss if our lovely thread fades away won't it.

FurForksSake · 10/09/2025 21:40

with oushk maintenance is it now just £15 off and we have to pay for postage?

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2025 21:59

@Azuresky68 you aren’t boring me and sure aren’t boring others - agree will be a loss if this thread stops

we will stand united 😂

sneaky due to their email saying £50 off but was overall their pens and think it was £5 off each the low to 10 ones

pharmoulous was free postage and I was impressed with them and cheaper then O

also juniper was ok

I think tho @FurForksSake which as p&p is £7 is really only £8 off

which is a piss take

With Lily upping the prices and now saying they are limiting the 5th dose I feel they actually don’t want people on mj

FurForksSake · 10/09/2025 22:03

I’ve got two or three pens in the fridge and three on the way in the coming weeks so I’m covered till Easter or a bit more depending how I can eek. I’m planning to buy one every six weeks but not sure when I’ll stop.

20bloodypounds · 10/09/2025 23:17

@Weepixie when I'm on mumsnet I try to post on all the ongoing threads that I 'belong' to (weight loss and other topics). Sometimes there's a particular discussion going on that I feel I can offer something to, and that might take more of my time/energy.

But I love it here. It reminds me of an ongoing NCT group where despite the differences we have all done something big, and scary at the same time. There's a 'togetherness' that is bonding. I have always loved the way that with the Auggies thread, it is slightly quiet, then you go off to work or get on with other life and 6 hours later - BOOM - there are 23 posts that you've missed. And all of them fascinating in their different ways - sharing heartbreak, sharing achievements and photos, spotty dog pics, style advice. It's all here.

Ithinkimrincewind · 11/09/2025 02:33

I post rarely but always check to see how everyone is doing. It's great that sometimes its clothing advice or holidays or medical.
I still have a couple of 5mg pens but need to get brave and taper down more and see if I can cope without it. I hadn't seen that they were reducing amount in pens, but how snide to do that while bumping prices!!

Motnight · 11/09/2025 07:15

Hello everyone. I'm one of the Auggie threads posters who don't post very often and still have a lot of weight to lose. I love this thread and really find it useful still ☺️. It's great for me to be able to keep up with posters that I have 'known' for over a year.

I am beginning to think similar @Blondeshavemorefun. Is this a ploy for us to all move to Wegovy? I can't see the idea behind the business model - 'up the prices so much many current customers genuinely won't be able to afford it. And for the smaller pool of customers left, let's cut the dosage so that they are paying a lot more for 20% less'.

Motnight · 11/09/2025 07:26

@Azuresky68 you have never bored me 😊

WitchDancer · 11/09/2025 07:36

I’m still lurking too. I’m really struggling without injections and the hunger is back big style. I have put on 12lb in the past 3 months, which I really need to do something about. Life is good other than that, although hectic because I’ve taken on a second job.

1clavdivs · 11/09/2025 07:41

Well, I made it to goal today. I’m probably the slowest loser and it’s cost me a whopping £31 per 1b, but I’m just left wondering if it’s been this slow and challenging with the help of the “King Kong of weight loss jabs” how on earth was I expected to do it without?

Anyhow I have three jabs left in a 12.5 and three 10mg in the fridge so I’ll be using those to move down then either go on to 5mg, which is affordable, or do the switch.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/09/2025 09:36

@20bloodypounds that’s how I feel. Our little auggies all coming together and fighting a battle most of us have had for years

@Ithinkimrincewind are you at goal. Sorry I can’t rem

@Motnight and we are still here behind you supporting

as I do feel I wouldn’t have lost the weight /carries on without this group as no one knows

some have asked but I also know their views on it from other people being on it so I’ve always avoided it and said I’ve lost eoeghr via calorie counting which tech is true as I still feel I don’t get that much suppression from it and do eat cakes biscuits crisps

where many say they haven’t had at all.

im The one limiting me as I could easily eat 3 packets a day but I have one

I just can’t work out why due to USA we had to pay silly prices for it and they take the extra dose away - yet they want our business

or do they want all to go on W?
If I wanted W I would have started on it - I feel for those starting now and being pushed to do what they might not have chosen iyswim

waves to @WitchDancer. This is my fear that if I stop totally that i will gain and gain a lb a week which we /uou know is easily done

are you eating healthier still or it’s the size of portions @WitchDancer?

whoop. Well done @1clavdivs 🌟🌟

OP posts:
WitchDancer · 11/09/2025 09:51

@Blondeshavemorefunit’s the evening snacking creeping in again - the crisps and biscuits - plus going away, plus there’s been a lot of cake at events I’ve attended recently so I’ve been tempted there too.

I know what I need to do, it’s just fighting the food noise again. I think I need to sit down and meal plan properly and then not have anything in the house that doesn’t fit in with that plan.

It’s so easy to beat myself up for putting the weight on again, particularly as it came off so slowly! I’m not going to though, particularly given how traumatic the past few months have been.

Onwards and downwards!

doingitthistime · 11/09/2025 09:53

I'm still here. I need to come off due to the cost so Tuesday had 6mg from my 12.5 pen, the 8th dose from that pen, (puts tin hat on ready to be shot down in flames) so I'll see how this week goes before I decide on next weeks dose, if I don't eat the entire fridge I might do 6 for another 2 weeks then drop to 5. Have a 15 pen to play with so can spend 10 weeks or so coming off.

FurForksSake · 11/09/2025 10:14

Morning! Congratulations and commiserations as appropriate. Nice to see so many people!

i weighed this morning and have apparently gained 2lbs this week, which I know is impossible but also sucks as aside from one meal out I’ve been under my calories every day and I’m on 12.5mg. I’m seriously considering doing some calorie cycling and not just talking about it and doing a week or two at 1500 calories and then cutting again to try to get to my goal.

poppym12 · 11/09/2025 11:17

I'm still here. Today I've crept below my original goal (set last August). Unfortunately it still leaves my BMI at 25.3 (or 24.7 according to the shotsy app 🤔) so I'll keep going with the couple of pens I have left and see if I can shift a couple more kg. Any loss is at a snails pace these days but at least I'm not gaining.

I've found I'm starting to crave something sweet during the evenings again. I had a Bounty last night and it took me 4 cals over my 1200 limit but I really enjoyed it. I can't see myself never eating sweets/chocolate/cake so I'll continue to have something if I know that my food intake has been reasonable. At least I didn't scoff down a half a big block of chocolate like I would have done in the past.

BettyandtheVets · 11/09/2025 12:24

I’m still here and are ever thankful for the regular posters of which, I’m ashamed to say, I’m not one. I read every single post, am never bored of seeing peoples posts, and never, ever feel like anyone is gloating over reaching their goal (I’m looking at you @owlyboo 😁 ) It is really helpful to see how those that started at the same time are doing, being it still loosing, maintaining, struggling with life, health issues etc.

The price rise has given me a lot to think about and thanks to the BMI calculator that @Weepixie posted I’m thinking I might aim to loose another 7lb and then call it a day in terms of aiming to loose weight. If I loose more, then so be it but if the loosing comes to an end then that’s ok too. Upped to 15mg for the 2 urgently bought pens and it really does seem to be working well and wished I had gone up the doses much more quickly than I did as I’ve been a slow looser with minimal side effects.

Just back from a week in France where lots of alcohol and pain au chocolate were consumed, but still weighed the same when I got home so happy, and think I can thank the 15mg for that.

next steps? I have no idea, maybe switch to Wegovy, but I’m concerned that all the other benefits I get from MJ might disappear. Will wait to see what others experience and then make a decision.

Weepixie · 11/09/2025 12:35

Poppy, another bit of a slowish loser here.

You mentioned craving something sweet - me too. Just this last week. An almond croissant of all things. I think I’ve had two in my life and just the other day I really fancied one so I had half and fed the other half to the birds. Oh and I’ve also had a craving for a glazed donut. I’ve not had one though, and I’m going to ask my physician son in law at the weekend what it means that me and Poppy have developed sudden cravings for something sweet.

And Id say it was a craving I had, it was way more powerful than fancying something.

Weepixie · 11/09/2025 12:42

On a different note - I’m going back to counselling tonight to resolve the feelings of anger I’ve had recently about things from the past (and present) that are no longer being anaesthetised by food the way they were before.

What a journey this has been - not that I’d have missed it for the world. But there’s no way I’m coming off Mounjaro by the end of the year then dealing with these thoughts and feelings whilst trying to maintain my weight loss. I’m sorting it out now. It was quite a lightbulb moment though - why am I so angry about x y or z then realising - bloody hell, it’s because I’m not anaesthetising myself with food anymore.

Weepixie · 11/09/2025 12:43

will catch up with all the other posts when I’m home tonight.
