We have all been on for over a year now

Last month the year before , we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

Some are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it
And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did

Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots - I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

Blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This year will almost be harder. To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely

Thanks @FurForksSake. Now dressing comfortably I know how to do but put me in a situation where I need to make more of an effort and it all goes to pot!
I hope you enjoy the theatre. Will you be ok sitting for so long?

morbidcuriosity · 08/09/2025 20:48

I'm looking at the oushk now, 10mg coming up £266 , is that right, with the £50 off? . If I can grab a cheaper one I will. But 266 seems a lot.

FurForksSake · 08/09/2025 20:55

It’s expensive everywhere, is it the monj site that compares?

@poppym12tickets were booked when I could still sit. We will leave at the interval if I can’t manage and Sunday we have no plans (I never have plans). DH and I love inside number 9 and league of gentleman so we’ve decided to suck it up and see. I’ve messaged to ask about access but not heard a reply so I’ve paid for priority access so we don’t have to queue to get in. I’m going to wear my usual leggings which are quite compressing which I find a bit helpful and then a shirt and cardigan I think.

Timetochange24 · 08/09/2025 21:55

@morbidcuriosity it's slightly cheaper to get a 12.5 on the oushk offer. Which seems ridiculous. I saw the email and thought they meant £50 off the £289 in the example. This is definitely my last pen unless the prices go down again. I think I've hit the weight my body wants to be - it's not shifting after weeks at this dose, except for gaining 2kg on holiday and dropping them in 2 weeks when we came back.

Thanks for the update that there won't be any spare capacity in a pen soon. Does anyone know when that will kick in? Fingers crossed there's some stock left with the bonus dose in.

20bloodypounds · 08/09/2025 22:09

I think my adult dds have BMIs of about 18 but they have always been very slender - tiny wrists, tiny hips. And they're mostly vegetarian and neither of them drink! [no idea where those girls came from!] I guess that as they go into their 40s and 50s that will change a bit.

At the other end of the age spectrum I think I need to be well enough (BMI) now that my metabolic health is in good shape, but also that I have enough meat on the bones for when I'm in my 70's and 80's. I think approaching your 70's with a BMI of 19 or 20 is risky - one bad flu (or 2 weeks in hospital) and you're losing muscle only - with a big struggle to regain it, when you recover.

20bloodypounds · 08/09/2025 22:20

I got the Oushk email and I was tempted to rush in and grab a bargain. But... I'm maintaining on 2.5mg. I have a 5mg pen (which I'll use beyond the recomended dates), and another 2 x 2.5 mg pens - all of which will take me beyond the end of the year.

I think the panic of the price rises, and the shortage of supply has made me feel a bit panicky about not having access to MJ, and making me feel like I want to grab a bit more from OUshk while there's (what looked like) a bargain.

But, I have taken a step back. I've looked at my strategy, and I've calmed myself. I'll stick with my plan. And I'll be OK.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/09/2025 22:32

Try pharmolous. They are cheaper the. Ousch

Something I wonder about in the UK is whether the Nhs helps to normalise very low bmi in young people. Dd is still in primary so her bmi is measured in centiles. She's 3rd to 5th centile depending on whether she's about to grow even taller or has just done some growing. Australia and the US would class her as underweight and probably suggest a bit of clinical input. The Nhs thinks that's still in healthy range as a child, but if she carries on growing on the same lines on the growth chart then her BMI aged 18 would be in the 17s and she'd be called in to see the GP to talk about how to put on weight.

I guess what I take from that is that we can't win 😂 I do worry about her staying healthy as she gets older though. She has a tiny appetite and very long bones and I worry about her building healthy bone density as she grows up.

FurForksSake · 09/09/2025 00:24

@Timetochange24i think that for girls puberty makes a big difference to weight and body composition so she’ll likely be a healthy weight by the time she reaches adulthood as long as she eats normally. That might be why the NHS don’t pay any attention to low centiles for children as it doesn’t correlate with underweight adults?

losing weight has made me really shocked at how low some people’s bmi is, I don’t think you can necessarily be a healthy weight and wear a size 4 or size 6. But being at the bottom end there’s not much room to go between being very slender and being in the realms of poorly. 2% of adults are apparently underweight and 4% of adults morbidly obese. Thirty percent have a normal bmi. That’s really interesting as underweight is higher than I’d ever have realised.

when I was obese my aim was to get to a healthy weight, bmi 24.9 and in my head I’d look and feel slim then. For me, I really didn’t. I was slimmer but not the skinny Minnie I had assumed. The same with going under 9st, I thought I’d be a guaranteed size 8. Even at just above 8st7 I’m between the two sizes. I think at a bmi of 20 I’ll be an 8 in most clothing shops.

and then on another thread I saw a whole lot of posts about how a size 8-10 now is actually a 12-14 with vanity sizing and I wonder just how slim women of the past were and how they’d judge me.

Weepixie · 09/09/2025 00:52

@FurForksSake thank you for that. I can recall reading about the possible decrease but didn’t know it had been confirmed. It will be interesting to see if the price also decreases to make up for it.

Weepixie · 09/09/2025 00:56

@20bloodypounds - I use this bmi calculator. It’s a relatively newish way of doing things and I’ve noticed of late than when I google this link more and more weight related sites are using it.

https://www.smartbmicalculator.com/

@poppym12 - I think it may be too late for the event you’re going to but would you consider having an appt with an instore stylist for future events.

Weepixie · 09/09/2025 01:48

The talk of BMI came up on a thread I posted on yesterday. I don’t know if it was ever intended to be a goady thread but it certainly became one and I got stuck in - not that it was difficult given the pathetic standard of trolls on the WLI boards nowadays.

Will have a look later although I am trying not to go down too many rabbit holes at the moment, I can't resist looking to see what you daid 😅😅😅

Weepixie · 09/09/2025 08:23

@Azuresky68 there aren’t too many pages left after page 5.

poppym12 · 09/09/2025 14:23

I thought about an in store stylist @Weepixie but I only know of John Lewis offering that service anywhere near to where I live and I had a good look in there yesterday - some of the And/or brand was ok but the rest was patterned flouncy things that i'd never wear.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2025 16:04

Hello I’m still around , had lost the thread briefly as I’d forgotten to click watch thread and thought it was super quiet 😛 have posted a couple do times on the maintenance thread but appreciate following everyone’s journey here and I was thinking earlier that the auggies with weight to lose still, I hope they feel ok about posting as it must be hard seeing a lot of people at their goal. I always found it helpful to see different stages of the journey but I do remember feeling frustrated inthe middle of it too
well done on the raincoat @Blondeshavemorefun !

FurForksSake · 10/09/2025 16:34

Hello! I injected today, but I didn’t weigh.

im finding my calories hard to stick to at the moment and the smart bmi calculator @Weepixieshared showed me that there is nothing to be gained by losing more. So I am wrestling with slowly increasing my calories a little and saying 8st8 is the end of my weight loss. Which is annoying as it’s not the final target I set, but it is close.

I’ve also stopped priming my pen or whatever the word is, I’m considering trying to get six doses out of my pens by counting clicks. I’m injecting every 8 days and don’t care about the 30 days. Whatever I can do to stay on fkr as long as possible.

@Blondeshavemorefungreat non scale victory!!

I think there’s a clash between this thread and another one some of the posters here are also posting on. I think if people only have x amount of time a day to be here then the thread most relevant to them is where they’ll go. Im not in a hurry to go anywhere else, I like it here with the people I’ve been with for a year, I’m not looking to make new friends and if I move to a maintenance thread it will only be when I’m off mounjaro and going it alone. I’m really confused by the concept of maintaining but still being on Mounjaro.

I’d encourage anyone to have a session of a couple of sessions with a stylist, and if they’re independent stylists then all the better though I. Store stylists are also great. The independent ones can give more of an overhaul to your entire wardrobe and style whereas the institute ones are usually for specific event.

Patterned and flouncy? Honestly, it could be that after your weight loss patterned and flouncy is now your style, and if you had someone advising you on how to do it properly you would look absolutely fabulous.

I’m almost at my second goal which is 2kg less than my main goal and I’m okay with seeing others at goal. Im happy for them.

There’s been quite a shift over the last few days to the maintenance thread and I think if that’s where people need to be because of being at target then that’s where they need to be. I don’t think they should feel guilty about it and neither do I think they should feel obligated to nip in here and say hello.

Will the thread just fade away? Yes, I think it will unless posters who are still to reach target start posting again because the thread once again is about still to reach target.

I'm still here, just overwhelmed with work stuff - home stuff and last days for my lovely old doggo. I went up to 15mg to accelerate loss and its worked a bit. I still don't have a goal, I don't know what to wear and I just know im healthy now, so not much to post about I guess! It's a natural conclusion for the group, and in the best possible way! I still read but only.comment if I feel I have something to add, apologies for that 🫣

morbidcuriosity · 10/09/2025 19:40

I'm still here.. Still read this thread, I should aim to comment more, but nothing exciting to say really.. I'm still 11 stone, maintaining. Once seen a flash of 10.13 but settled on 11 in the end. Who knows what Monday will bring, my supression kicked in again this week, I get some weeks where it just vamps up..
Still on 10mg for a while but will start to come down soon maybe after my next full pen done.
