We have all been on for over a year now

Last month the year before , we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

Some are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it
And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did

Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots - I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

Blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This year will almost be harder. To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely

Interesting because I'm planning a whole month off (well 4 weeks... or maybe 3 and a half...). I'm interested to see how my hunger really is. I think I need to be meticulous about calorie counting. At the moment I can get away with ordering a pastry with my coffee because half way through I feel like I've had enough. I guess that won't happen 4 weeks off MJ, so I will need to be disciplined about simply NOT ordering the pastry.

I agree @20bloodypounds. Calorie counting is going to have to be number one priority for me. I've continued to count everything every day but for some reason, since I dropped down to 10mg on Sunday from 15mg (3 days late), I've gained half a kilo.

I've been averaging 1320 calories per day which I didn't think was too bad (my tdee is around 1600 apparently) but I'm going to have to rethink.

I'm tempted to top up the 10mg to 15 as I think I need to lose a few more lbs to give myself more leeway.

That’s fab @PoemsForTea. The 15 re
ally helps lose the last few lbs

@morbidcuriosity that’s brilliant. Well done. Know you’ve wanted to get under 11 for ages tho you’ve been healthy weight for a while

@WorriedRelative I’m sure the water /weight gain will go next week

maybe it should be a rule don’t weight till a week gone after holiday to let body settle 😂

Agree with everything you say re holidays and water weight Blondes. Got back last Friday and finally braved the scales..I was .6 of a pound lighter than when I went, despite 🥂🍺🍷in moderation everyday. So over the moon as last time I went in July I had just reached my target then gained after 3 weeks away and really struggled to lose it...remember Blondes, that's when I went up to 15 for a few weeks. So apart from the post holiday gain in July I have actually been at target since beginning of June. I am on 10 now, jabbing every 8 days.
Aldi ready meals have been a game changer too! I usually cook from scratch but get fed up of it. For lunch today I had an Aldi sheperds pie with lots of green veg. Feels like I can eat 'normal' food again.
BMI is 23.6 and weight is 8 stone 5 pounds.
So happy, despite some health issues..diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and have to go for bone scan this afternoon.
Good news is that I have an appointment in December with the hospital Pain Clinic for my back.
Hope everyone is doing OK 👍 💐😘

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/10/2025 14:13

I have Aldi meals a lot. As cba to cook

I’ve been at goal or less since June and been lowering

last 7.5 this week and will brave 5 next week

Went to a pub quiz this week and had a massive fish and chips. Still clocking in at 59.9 kg though. I think I need to start moving down the doses now but feel really nervous about that as I've been this weight before and let it all go again. But also I'm finding it hard to make good food choices because it's zapped my appetite. I didn't think I'd ever get to the point where food feels like a chore rather than a pleasure! So I need to move to a point where more than 3 ingredients appeal, even if I stay on a lower dose there for a while to build good food habits back up.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/10/2025 15:46

What strength are you on @Timetochange24

I had soup for lunch, with a crumble of blue cheese and half a naan. Eating things up for holidays. But better than yesterday’s cheeselet sack. Soup was Bol super soup and is so nice. I need to make a vat!

We are going to Muir of Ord, physio is encouraging me to have one day getting out and doing some light walking and one day of being knackered to build some stamina before surgery. It’s Inverness in autumn, it’s hopefully going to be beautiful!

https://bolfoods.com/collections/power-soups I particularly like the butternut squash, but they are so nice and don’t feel too salty or crappy.

Just catching up on posts. @owlyboo you and Dublin both look great! @Blondeshavemorefun your post reminded me, I have lots of protein powder that DD gave me ages ago and I have hardly used. Will start having protein shakes again.

Have lost my 100th lb as of today so am feeling quite positive. DH has been very poorly and in hospital, he is out now but his health is always going to be shit (has ms) and it's made me realise how lucky those of us are who can control our own health.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2025 09:43

WWJ and dropped again to 10.2 and same as @Motnight and reached a loss of 100 lbs myself 🙀🙀

staggering really !!

but I don’t really want to be here as much too light for me and face looking gaunt and too much saggy skin

I know if I come off mj I will def gain from it

i only wanted to be 11s. Then kept losing and dropping to 10.7 and hovering there while trying to maintain .

Then 10.4 and 7s loss and now wavering up and down from it as keep trying to gain weight

who would have thought pmsl

so will fatten myself up with Malteasers and posh maccy cheese. The Aldi one is so good but 800c

maybe I need to change my mindset and be 10-7 to 11 and if start gaining over 10.7 to cut back

it’s weird as I’ve had a figure /weight in my mind for years what I wanted to be but I’m much lower

OP posts:
Motnight · 24/10/2025 10:02

I hadn't realised that you had lost that much weight @Blondeshavemorefun. Maltesers and posh maccy cheese is the way to go if you want to gain some weight. I am still very far away from looking anything approaching gaunt 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2025 10:17

It’s my face. I’ve lost the plumpness of my skin /or where I’ve lost weight it’s saggy/wrinkles are more noticeable

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2025 10:18

Copied from the maintaining thread I’m on

I’ve been at goal since June. I was 17.4 - bmi 38 - My goal was 11s and bmi 24

but since trying to maintain and reducing from 15 to current 7.5 I have also lost weight and got down to 10.7 without trying to lose and hoovered that for a few weeks then dropped again and to 10.4 which is 7s loss

i I don’t understand How I can eat an extra 600c + a day now on 1800 and was 1200 yet lose weight still

where would have weeks of sts on 1200 and getting pissed off

reducing from 15 to 7.5 I have def noticed I have more of an appetite and growls of tummy near meal times

but equally know that I don’t need food and will survive that 30/60mins till the food is ready

where before I would snack. Have crisps. Bar. Etc

pain is also a factor. Mj reduces pain and my arthritis is better /less aching in ankle knee and hips then before

I have noticed that the pain is slightly more and get twinges in my hips - which was the reason and kick up the arse why I started to lose weight - now I’m lowering doses I notice pain more but it’s liveable

Fantastic losses @Blondeshavemorefun & @Motnight
I’ve been trying to catch up on this thread- you’re all doing so well still.

So I thought I should update my journey. It’s not great to be honest! But I do think it’s important to see the struggles as well as the successes to give a balanced perspective.
So I spent 12 months exactly on MJ. August’24-August’25. I lost over 5st & ended up below my goal- in fact I dropped my goal a couple of times as I was losing so much. I’m actually glad I did that.
I began dropping doses from mid June. I was at my lowest at 8st 8lbs then, & BMI 21.4 My appetite started to come back as I dropped doses and when I gave up MJ in August I was 8st 11lbs. I was on 5mg. I did think I was looking a bit gaunt & even though when I was younger I weighed less, I think now I’m early 60s it just didn’t suit me. So I wanted to ideally maintain around 9st. I’m 5ft 3”.
I’ve been wanting to join a nice gym, there’s one nearish me which has a waiting list. I’ve now joined & start November. I really need to motivate myself to get in shape, & I think only by committing myself to monthly gym costs would make me go. I was never a person who loves sport. More of a book worm!
I couldn’t afford both MJ & gym costs every month. It was either or. I’ve tried exercising at home but I do think it’s easier to remain motivated in a gym environment. But I also knew that it had to be a small more exclusive gym environment that would make me go.
Anyway- wanted to explain that bit. So the last time I ordered MJ was back in April. I stock piled pens a bit.
So since stopping in August I have gained 13lbs☹️. My appetite came back with vengeance really. I thought I was still careful with what I have been eating. But it just shows what a difference not finishing meals, & eating everything on the plate again makes. Plus the worst is the snacking. I didn’t think prior to MJ that I snacked much. But I think it’s just that I’m so much more aware now post MJ. So now I’m thinking I was probably always an awful snacker but just buried myself in the sand & was in total denial about it. Probably why I got so fat in the first place!
I’m actually still a healthy BMI because I lost so much. I’m now 9st 10.4lbs & BMI 24.2
I had put aside 2 pens. So on Thursday I started my 2.5mg one. I have a 5mg one also. But plan to halve the dose so it lasts 2 months. So that gives me 3 months on 2.5mg. I am hoping to get back down to 9st & hopefully with the gym I can maintain around that weight.
The good news is that even though I noticed going back down the doses I didn’t feel they were effective. Actually they were but I just didn’t think they were. Anyway having had a break even though it’s only been a couple of days I already can feel some suppression on the 2.5mg
So my goal is to try & get back to 9st, become totally committed to becoming more in shape & build muscle & hopefully that will be enough to maintain a healthy weight.
I also recognise that this is something I will always have to work at.
Hope this has not been too boring to read! Just wanted to give a realistic update. That it’s been a struggle without MJ
