We have all been on for over a year now

Last month the year before , we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

Some are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it
And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did

Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots - I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

Blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This year will almost be harder. To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely

The lidl fresh high protein ready meals are quite nice. I've had the lasagne and the chicken tikka.. low on calories and think them 2 are the lowest salt intake..
Also gym kitchen frozen chicken tikka is nice.. not tried the others..

Wonder if Lidl taAste better than Aldi as their protein meals are rank @morbidcuriosity

I had some of their chicken skewers with seeet chilli sauce for lunch from the snack / deli section, they were nice. I might try some if these micro meals for lunches.

Iceland and Aldi do some nice sweet/sour chicken skewers which I have with rice /veg

Ah @Blondeshavemorefuni couldn’t remember what I was watching the other night to catch up, it was that. We enjoyed the first episode of it.

Weepixie · 12/09/2025 21:56

Blondie, I’ve no idea if the surgery worked or not. I know I lost some weight initially. Became ill. Regained the little amount of weight I lost in the short timespan between things but whether or not that was because of medication I was on for the breakdown I had I’ve no idea. My memory of that time really doesn’t exist apart from the terror I felt.

I have also considered that perhaps the MGB was the wrong surgery for me and I should have had the full gastric bypass instead.

Then there was the gastric band Ive also had, as well as the gastric ballon - but they both came before the MGB. The ballloon I had removed because it was vile and the band I had removed because of complications - I developed adhesions. The MGB came after both of those things.

Do I think I benefit at all from the MGB as someone also on Mounjaro? Nope. Absolutely not all. I don’t feel as if I’ve ever had bariatric surgery and never really have done, which is why I think I was given the wrong surgery to begin with. Maybe a sleeve or a full bypass would have been better. Who knows? I certainly don’t and I’m never likely to know either.

Suffice to say Mounjaro has worked for me but it hasn’t worked on its own. It’s been Mounjaro, years of all the different things I’ve tried, counselling, lifestyle changes, exercising, calorie counting, eating clean, no UPF, practicing saying no, the bigger picture, the whole me, and from day 1 of starting mounjaro thinking of everyday of the rest of my life.

How much have I lost - I’ve lost 4 stone and having put everything into it that I have - I know there was no chance in hell I’d ever have been able to do it alone.

Have I cracked it this time? Yes. Absolutely yes.

Hi there 😘. If we can’t be honest we’re not going to be any help to each other and some might say I overshare, but if it helps someone then in my mind it can only be a good thing.

And on a different note - I just had a very pleasant surprise. I had decided to source my next pen here at home as I thought it would be cheaper than the next one from my supplier in the UK due to the price increase. I was expecting over a hundred pounds more taking the cost to over 400 pounds but it’s only increased by 25 pounds and still works out cheaper than here by about 25 pounds.

How can it only be an increase of 25 pounds when you guys have mentioned much higher figures? I’m feeling very nicely shocked. It’s a 15 and we pay the same for a 15 as we do for a 2.5. It’s standard practice in lots of countries.

Weepixie · 13/09/2025 06:27

Re the telly - I may have binge watch Lioness over two evenings last week. It was excellent and im gearing up for season two over the next two evenings. I watched it on ITVX

@poppym12 I often joke that I have a claustrophobic body - hate the sensation of any clothes with a tight waist, and must have lots of space around my neck, always. But now at this weight I look a bit 'lost' in my clothes...

@weepixie Several years ago I had catastrophically high blood pressure that almost had me hospitalised. What a scare! I took medication, lost weight, changed my life style and thought I'd never go back there... Ashamed to say I did, hence the MJ. But this time I am determined to put my physical, emotional and mental health at the forefront (and like you it is motivated by being around and active for my dgc, and also for one dc who really needs me). So much more than fitting into a size 10 trousers - although that feels damn good too!

I'm fortunate in not having much of a sweet tooth, so my treats are a fantastic spicy home made prawn cocktail, or a chilli made with real steak.

20bloodypounds · 13/09/2025 08:40

I'm on holiday and we had a ferry trip yesterday. Dh had fish and chips and I persuaded him to order me the same from the children's menu. He made me hide, so they wouldn't see i wasn't an actual child! It was great, but still too many chips and peas! I left quite a lot.

Weepixie · 13/09/2025 09:13

@20bloodypounds I love that this thread has brought so many of us together.

I think even the fact we’re older is a bonus when it comes to keeping the weight of ‘this time’. We’ve lived most of our life and there really arent anymore weight loss rodeos left for us.

Your child who really needs you - I have one as well. He’s 33, severely autistic and if that wasn’t enough to contend with he also has a dx of Tourette’s, Epilepsy and Bi Polar Disorder. Still at home with me though ❤️

How is your darling child. I hope they’re doing well and happy. ❤️

I’ve been ordering again. God I’m turning into a shopaholic via Temu

have 3 weddings next year - dd big brother and sister (so ex dh kids and tech my step kids but in their 30’s) and friend

so need 3 outfits and 3 hen do outfits

I tried this on. The red/burgundy dress

NSV - Bloody loved it but was huge on me and literally fell down. It was a 12 🙀🙀

now I know I’m not a 10 at all but seem dresses are a better fit in a 10

anyway gutted they don’t have in 10 in red but do in blue so have re ordered that in a 10

I also love this but not sure if too casual for a wedding. Again this is size 10. Purple dress.
What do you think ?

@Weepixie you've certainly got a lot of experience of different weight loss attempts beyond the ‘usual’ dieting ! You’ve done amazingly well and you’re right in terms of age and knowing using this medication is quite a final attempt for a lot of us. I wish I had been younger when I had access to MJ but grateful I’ve lost the weight now and yes, desperate not to pile it on again. The mounjaro type meds must end up having a huge impact on weight loss surgeries in the future.
ive been trying maintain (on my last few doses of 15mg before going down) and increase to 1200 cals this week but had two days when I didn’t eat all the calories due to being busy and not having food in that I wanted. So am 7st 12lbs today, I’m trying to stay about 8st (I’m 5ft) so that feels ok and will probably go up next week when I stick to calories. I have that wee voice in my head saying to keep going and lose some more but also saw myself in changing room mirror yesterday when I was trying on jeans and wasn’t thrilled. Looked a bit scrawny and old and clothes just weren’t looking right , everything swamped me. Ended up buying leggings and joggers from primark kids department in age 11-12 as the length was perfect but felt a bit unsettled that my weight isn’t quite right.

Slimhopes · 13/09/2025 12:18

And @Blondeshavemorefun i really love that dress on you, it’s perfectly for an occasion and is so flattering.
