We have all been on for over a year now

Last month the year before , we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

Some are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it
And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did

Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots - I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

Blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This year will almost be harder. To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely

@Weepixie you sound extremely sensible regarding counselling. I went through a quite flat phase about 6 months into taking MJ and I am sure looking back that it was due to me being unable to turn to food as my comfort in times of stress and unhappiness. I can reel off the different reasons for having overeaten for much of my adult life, but haven't really been able to go beyond that if that makes sense.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2025 08:19

Sorry work is stressful @Timetochange24

@Timetofindme hope surgery wasn’t too bad

doesn’t matter how much you have lost

its the fact we have all lost weight so please do post your losses or whispers gains /sts

tbh I don’t know about pharmolous. They literally sent it the next day so was impressed at that and sure I didn’t have to sign for it and they left it in my safe place as knew I was going to be out

WWJ

Don’t hate me

ive lost a lb again.

wails . I’m not even trying to lose weight ffs

The lb I tried so hard to gain last week ffs by eating chocolate has come back off

I am struggling to eat 1800c a day unless I bulk it up with a 300c chocolate bar which obv isn’t the healthiest thing to do daily so ……….

im back to 10.5 so 1 lb off 7s loss. I only wanted 6 ish and be around 11s

@Blondeshavemorefunis that 1800 below your bmr? Might it be worth seeing if your thyroid is ok? I’m sure it’s just your metabolism, but the GP always asks about unintended weight loss and the worry with mj is that it could theoretically mask that. Is your anaemia ok now?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2025 08:51

Sorry what do you mean is it below my
bmr ? 1800 is what I should need to maintain tho some tdee sites say 1600

i think I have a blood test next week to check my anemia levels

I’m still tired and still bruise like a peach but have been taking iron Vit C, B12 & Folic Acid as low in all those

Weighed today and I am 2 pounds under my goal of 8 st 7 pounds. That's deliberate as I need wriggle room for winter sun hols 🌞

But it's definitely my last dose of 15 mg (12.5 pen used) That dose makes me feel quite sick but it did the job to lose the pesky last few pounds.

I am happy with weight and how I look with clothes on. Just have to live with the baggy body 😅
On another note, do people at maintenance weight miss having the weekly focus of losing weight? It's a transition phase I think 🤔
@Blondeshavemorefun after a year of working so hard to lose weight, it must feel very strange to now want to STS or gain weight. Are you onto 7.5 now?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2025 12:54

Woof woof well done for being under the weight you have tried so hard to get to always good to have some wiggle room.

I’ve got one dose I think left of 10 and then I think I’ve got 3 x 7.5 pens and a 10.

Maybe I need to do 7.5 and be able to eat more but I eat three good meals a day

had a three egg omelette yes that makes me a piggy compared to some for breakfast 😛😛😛. 1800 cal is enough for me

I am definitely feeling more aches now. I’m not on 15 so I’m not sure what it will be like 7.5 today

I do ache a lot and that was before I did Boot Camp now I’ve done my Boot Camp I’m literally crawling on the floor ha ha

Just in the car on the way home from shopping, have a shower and go and pick DD up from school

this was a long one but it’s done by text talk and I didn’t have to type it yay

Azuresky68 · 12/09/2025 14:22

Awww thanks @BlondeshavemorefunI used to have 3 egg omelette but on 15 mg I nearly threw up.
I wish MJ helped my back pain 😢
It's a tricky one for you..maybe on 7.5 you can increase portions of healthy food with an odd extra treat here and there?
You have done amazingly well. Do you feel significantly happier now at target?
I am over the moon. Selling more clothes. I have a jacket in Large that cost £50 but selling it. Just rebought it on Vinted for £10 in S and it's as new 😀 that was a bargain as same coat is on Vinted between £15 and £25.
Having a Vinted splurge today!

Only thing getting me down is back pain but it's something I have to live with.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2025 15:06

And was meant to say whoop whoop

not woof woof 😂😂😂

im not sure I want to increase portions as what I eat is filling me

tho maybe as on 10?

3 egg omm. Ham cheese pepper onion

jacket tuna cheese salad

micro meals 500c and veg

chicken breast rice veg

spag bol

prawns and rice and veg

if I eat more of what I eat surely I will just get stuffed ?

I guess I am happy slimmer

just I feel the ache of ankle knee hips. More hips and that’s why I lost weight

tho guess if I didn’t I would be much more unfit - tho I’m unfit anyway and don’t go out to gym etc

OP posts:
Azuresky68 · 12/09/2025 17:23

I thought woof woof was some sort of southerner's expression 😅 😆

Well done on eating so healthy. Alcohol is my downfall!
If/when you have time could you give me some ideas for micro/convenience meals please?
I shop at Aldi most of the time, but also Sainsbury's

Needing some new ideas 💡 🤔

@Weepixie you sound extremely sensible regarding counselling. I went through a quite flat phase about 6 months into taking MJ and I am sure looking back that it was due to me being unable to turn to food as my comfort in times of stress and unhappiness. I can reel off the different reasons for having overeaten for much of my adult life, but haven't really been able to go beyond that if that makes sense.

@Motnight re the counselling. For me it’s the same as going to the Drs - you have pain in your leg you go and get it seen to. Something is bothering you/somethings on your mind - go and get it seen to. It doesn’t even have to be something you do for months, which is what people can be inclined to think counselling/therapy is. It can actually be as little as sitting for an hour just having a chat. Sometimes you’ve got it all worked out even before you get there but it’s nice to bounce your ideas/plans off someone else anyway. But I think the latter is more life coaching than counselling. I had my chat with my listener the other night, I’ll see them again this week and that will be that for now. And I don’t know how to broach what I want to say next because I could easily make a mess of saying it, but I’m hoping that doesn’t happen.

Since being in Mounjaro/being on the WLI board one of the biggest things I’ve taken away from it is - that for an awful lot of people losing the weight has only been about losing weight and nothing else. There hasn’t been a bigger picture and I think this is one of the reasons why so many people eventually regain their weight plus more, regardless of how they’ve lost it in the first place.

It’s taken me a long time to look to the bigger picture and live it. Yes, I’d paid lip service to the health benefits, putting changes in place blah blah blah but that’s all it was - lip service. Don’t forget I’ve even had bariatric surgery - a mini gastric bypass. Would it have had a chance to work if I hadn’t got cancer a few months later? Who knows. But one thing is for sure - Mounjaro was my very last chance to get as healthy as I possibly could in order to add years to my life. I’ve stared death in the face and I’ll never ever again stare it in the face because I’ve regained the weight and ended up with an obesity related life shortening illness. Yes I love being slim, I love walking past a shop window and thinking that woman looks great - then I realise it’s me. Today I wore a matching belt on my jeans for the very first time and did a French tuck with my new Bretton top. I’ve waited months to decide my tummy area could take the attention and I felt like a million bloody dollars, I was floating on air. But it was looking at my grandchildren and knowing I could have another 25 years of Fridays at the beach left in me because of what I’ve done, and will do everyday for the rest of my life, that made me want to do handstands.

Could I have got to this stage without my very corny sounding ‘whole person’ approach to this last year? No Absolutely not. Which is why if in future I have a situation where I might want to eat my way through it the way I did for years - I’ll be making an appt to see someone if I can’t work through it myself. I’d encourage anyone to do. Even online sessions if you can’t get out of the house for any reason, or you just don’t have the travelling time involved in going to see someone. And don’t wait to look for someone till you need them - have a look for someone now and tuck them away in your arsenal so they’re there when you need them.

We really do need to remember we’ve been through/are still going through huge changes and whilst it can bring great joy, it can also be really unsettling. Not that we hear much about the latter.

FurForksSake · 12/09/2025 18:19

I loved the woof woof 😆

@Azuresky68i took my self to Aldi yesterday, I must have looked like a total granny as my hip is so painful I walk at a snails pace. They had loads of nee stuff in since I last went, I was tempted by so much!

we had chicken curry for dinner, frozen sofritto, frozen ginger and garlic, frozen spinach, frozen peas, chicken, squirt of curry paste from a tube, tin of chickpeas and a tin of tomatoes. Cooked in about 25 minutes. It was so filling! Served it with rice but I didn’t have any as I don’t like it much.

aldi had some nice looking frozen ready meals, they often have some great protein bits.

I also like salmon, frozen edamame beans and rice. I got some hot honey which i can use on the salmon. That’s very quick.

Weepixie · 12/09/2025 18:20

Re the cravings a few of us have experienced recently. I spoke with my son in law and he said it’s nothing to do with the Mounjaro - it’s lifestyle/life related. In short -

Stress - if you’ve dealt with stress in the past by having/craving something sweet it’s probably happening again. So, are you stressed/wortied/unhappy etc.

Lifestyle - if you’ve been restricting yourself you could have been overdoing it and the craving something sweet/alcoholic/fatty is a normal reaction to restriction. A treat is ok in moderation and can help with cravings but you have to make sure you can do moderation otherwise it becomes a habit.

HTH 🤣

Weepixie · 12/09/2025 18:43

Omelettes - I could a three egg one filled with veg, or a two egg and one egg white one filled with veg, but I couldn’t have toast with it. And I like even half a slice of sourdough in the morning so a two egg with veg omelette it is for me.

morbidcuriosity · 12/09/2025 18:44

Little win today. I used to always feel so self conscious going into fast food places thinking people would be looking at me thinking she clearly doesn't need McDonald's etc..

I was out today and needed some food, nice big sandwich from greggs sorted me out and didn't feel self conscious at all walking in there! .
I look like a normal sized person, not an overweight greedy person.

FurForksSake · 12/09/2025 18:44

Thanks for reporting back @Weepixiei bought some doughnuts yesterday and had one. Today, no interest in one at all and I made a really healthy high protein and high fibre curry.

FurForksSake · 12/09/2025 18:46

@morbidcuriosity I can completely relate to that! It’s so strange to me not being big and being judged. I feel this urge to tell people and almost apologise for being slimmer now.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2025 21:13

@Azuresky68 I am bad on micro meals as always have 3 times a week for tea the nights I work

and sometimes for lunch /when I cba to cook

and often on a Friday night coz I can 🙀😂

I know bad blondes

But that’s maybe 7 meals out of 21

that sounds bad lol. But sometimes it’s 4. 3 work nights and fri and I cook proper stuff for lunch or have a sarnie or soup

and obv must work and not be too bad as I have lost almost 7s 😂

I shop at Aldi so all micro meals there and one from coop

coop is braised steak and mash

Aldi

lamb hotpot
beef stew and dumplings
chicken tagatelle
shepherds pie
chicken and bacon pasta bake
tomato and mozzarella pasta bake
creamy chicken and pesto pasta
Sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice

I rotate these. I seem to live off pasta and chicken as you can see 😂😂

they do a lovely meal which is prob my fav one with fat noodles chicken and veg and often have on a Friday night - I had it tonight

I’ve added the pic of that one. It’s lush and 514 cals

I think of all the above are around 500

Thanks...yes I have tried them and agree. That's why I haven't tried any other ones

morbidcuriosity · 12/09/2025 21:36

The lidl fresh high protein ready meals are quite nice. I've had the lasagne and the chicken tikka.. low on calories and think them 2 are the lowest salt intake..
Also gym kitchen frozen chicken tikka is nice.. not tried the others..

FurForksSake · 12/09/2025 21:37

I had some of their chicken skewers with seeet chilli sauce for lunch from the snack / deli section, they were nice. I might try some if these micro meals for lunches.

FurForksSake · 12/09/2025 21:38

Oh yes, I’ve tried the gym kitchen ones and they are good.

I’m going to make Soup this weekend.

Azuresky68 · 12/09/2025 21:45

@Blondeshavemorefun and @FurForksSake thanks so much for the ideas. I usually cook from scratch but need a break from it. Blondes don't apologise for micro meals, I know what it's like being busy and cooking for one adult..done it myself in the past many times but I needed an update..thanks so much for that.
Tonight I had chicken breast and squash slices in a tablespoon of red pesto cooked in the air fryer along with cabbage for some much needed fibre!
Listed more stuff on Vinted and bought some more stuff!
Going to watch Karen Pirie series 2 now.
Looking forward to Coldwater on Sunday. Riot Women and Hacks coming in October...ooops I am on the wrong thread 😅
