@DandelionPockets I stayed on 2.5 but have tweaked it up to 3 (first dose this week) by doing a second jab just after the first (new needle). I think there's a bit more suppression this week. Had slight nausea which i hadnt felt since week 1 and 2
If my calcs are correct the pen should still last 4 weeks.

I turned down an ice cream today, I did want the ice cream but I thought to myself that I didn’t want to undo some of the work I’ve already done so I said no. I’ve also resisted the wine tonight. Again, I do want it but I am
able to see the bigger picture and can turn it down. I am sure I would have had both pre-MJ.

Has anyone who stayed on 2.5mg regretted it? I stuck to 2.5mg because I had two weeks off with late ordering after the panic buying. I feel like I don't have much suppression at all which has surprised me and whilst I'm not bingeing, I am eating more than during my first couple of weeks.

I’ve stayed on 2.5. I am using a 5mg pen but got worried about side effects so stuck with 2.5. However I now feel it isn’t working as well as it was, so I’ve been injecting every 5 days rather than 7. I think next time I will go to 3 or above as last week I didn’t lose any weight although I’m definitely eating a lot less. I weigh in on a Wednesday and I think I won’t have lost any this week as I don’t feel like I have. I’m at 13lb so far and that 1 stone feels elusive!

Anyone have any tips for overcoming the vomiting and nausea? I was okay on the 2.5mg but increased to 3.75mg (as I was worried about side effects) and I have vomited two mornings in a row post-jab. Feeling pretty rough with nausea and a headache now

Happy, that's 11lb gone in two weeks so now expecting it to slow down and be more consistent. Lets see what week three brings!!

This is my mindset too.

Trying to turn treats in to just that - treats. Once a week isnt a treat it's a routine.

So i'll save things like ice cream, pudding etc for special occasions. Learning to say no even when i want it is going to help so much when i come off MJ

I started about 35 days ago, still on 2.5mg, but beginning to feel the efficacy wearing off a bit (or else just the novelty of not snacking). Too much on this weekend, reached for digestive biscuits for breakfast 😩.

Need to get back in the saddle!

Good afternoon,

3rd jab done today. I was humming and hawing where to do my jab. I just didn’t want to chance it with going on holiday this week so stuck to my tummy, in case I got horrible side effects. Full jab done this week😂 I had 0 side effects last week at all, and okay suppression now and again. But was definitely a lot more hungrier but that’s maybe my own fault with only having half a dose.

I have such a busy week this week so I’m hoping I’ll be okay side effects wise. I have a bit of a sore tummy today, had that before jab though.

SW before MJ - 13st11.9lbs.
CW - 11st10.4lbs
GW - 10st7lbs

7.3lbs lost so far, 4.9lbs first week and 2.4lbs second week.
im happy with that.

@Texanchilli I have lost interest in wine and spirits, it just doesn’t taste appealing. Still enjoying black coffee though.

At the end of W4 and going to attempt golden dose tomorrow by twisting pen. I ordered 2.5mg and 5mg to beat Sept price increases. So I will be doing 2.5mg for another two weeks. I hope the suppression continues. I have extra needles for the pen so I can up the dose to 3mg or inject every 5 days if 2.5mg stops working.

I have had times of genuine hunger but that is because I have genuinely needed to eat food.

started at 195lb on 12th August,
currently 183lb today, 8th September

Really pleased with 12lb off in 4 weeks. Have also put on muscle and lost inches, can’t wait to see body composition scan on Wednesday when I go back to endocrinologist.

When I was first scanned by endocrinologist a month ago I had 43.6% body fat, and 20% visceral fat (healthy visceral fat levels should be under 10%) My BMI was by 30.6 (obese). The only good thing was my muscle mass was 27% - in the healthy range. I used this to explain how I had indeed been training. And I showed my food log apps to show I had indeed been eating healthy. Yet the weight wouldn’t come off (menopause, Hashimotos thyroid autoimmune condition).

Hoping there is an improvement in my body composition stats as I have been working SO hard. Anyone who thinks MJ is “cheating” can do one. I’ve exercised hard and often, logged, prioritized water and sleep. Just like I have done over and over throughout my life when trying to lose weight.

The difference is, this time my efforts are getting the results they deserve.

I’m in the exact same boat as you…that last pound is hanging around, frustrating to say the least. I was considering going to 3.75, but I had my first beer over the weekend. I had all the side affects the next day! Which has made me reconsider. Hoping to have that last pound off by my next weighing!

I've also been thinking of shortening the gap between jabs by a day so I can get onto a 5mg pen sooner...

Morning everyone

W5D1 and I have lost another 3lbs, so 13lbs in total over the last 4 weeks..very happy with that. Had a couple of days this week where the suppression wasn’t as strong, but will stay on 2.5 for the next pen and see how it goes.

It’s such a good feeling seeing 13 on the scales instead of 14, it’s been YEARS since I was under 14 stone and I feel so happy. Obviously there’s some way to go but I’m feeling really positive.

Going to use the golden dose later, does anyone have any tips? Do you just use it as normal with a bit of brute force? Thanks

I tried to do golden dose last week but gave up. After doing first dose with new pen I sat and fiddled with the old does… and the pen twisted all the way up once I’d twisted it back and forth a few times! So it’s in the fridge ready for tomorrow 😂🤞🏻
So persevere with it I’d say!

I feel rough today. Headache, nausea, I ended up forcing down a protein shake but just blughhhh. No reason I think. I am a bit more stressed out today which could be why.

Take it easy, drink water and eat some plain foods. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Peppermint tea
plain crackers like TUC
maybe a banana

I had it when I did my first 5mg jab but after that only when I eat really rich or fried food.

@MrJollyLivesNextDoor I just forced the golden dose out of my pen. I started with it on August 12 and today is 8th September so still within use by date. Normally my injection day is Tuesday but I was getting antsy and hungry so went in a day early.

No luck turning the pen manually but got these out my tool box and cranked it, then primed it - went in fine. Looks like the same dose as the other 4, I’ve always been “just a drop or two” when priming as I was hoping to get the extra dose out. I think it was just over 60 clicks.

Injection day yesterday and I cant look at food today at all. Forced myself to eat but couldn't get much down. Trying to drink a protein shake now and not having much luck with that either. Horrible eggy burps and nausea 😵

It's W4 D3 for me, I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to post.
Lost 2½ lbs this week for a total loss of 11lbs or 5.06kg.

I'm trying to find little motivators each week, last week I wanted to get under the 200lb threshold, this week I really want to be under the 90kg mark and leave the 14st bracket.

Went shopping at the weekend for my dd to spend her birthday money, I saw so many gorgeous things I wanted to buy, I'm impatient to be at the end of my journey so I can wear lovely things.

No snacking, not had much to eat during the day tbh, but having smaller portion of the family evening meal. Been out tonight for tea as DDs 18th and had what I wanted and wine but stopped when full as trying to get balance with it all... have been to the gym 2-3 times per week and Yoga once a week to try and get in to a good routine and aid with muscle / loose skin etc.

Would like to carry on with steady weight loss as should be near goal by Xmas if I manage it 🤞. Periods all over the place though, had 2 x 4 day periods for last 2 weekends, I normally don't have them often as on the rod... who knows but just an observation.

Well done on everyone's progress, love reading and hearing how people are getting on, I use it as motivation for myself x

One question, has anyone had the golden dose and been poorly with it? It would be mine at weekend and debating on if I should give it a go what with it not being an actual dose, expiry etx x

I’ve just done the fifth dose of my first pen using an insulin needle. I felt far more nervous than when I first used the pen. I struggled to draw up the liquid and then struggled to get rid of air bubbles from the syringe but it’s done now. I think I would feel more confident next time but I didn’t enjoy it much (needle was blunted so I had to push it quite hard to break the skin but it didn’t actually hurt).

I would do the golden dose. Mines due Thursday and I can’t wait to give myself just a little extra than the 2.5! Also it’s not expired, you would be taking it on day 28.

End of week 6 and 2.5lbs loss this week taking me to 16.5lbs overall - nice to see steady progress.
Week 2 of 3.75 and finding the suppression to be uncomfortably strong on day 4.
Started magnesium and that’s helping but looking at upping my fibre intake this week too.
