W12 D1, another 2lbs loss. Seems to be that amount pretty consistently for me at the moment.

I've just started my third MJ pen of 2.5mg, I'm down 21lbs and have had a couple of trips away in that time so I'm pleased with my results.
I hope to stick to 2.5mg for as long as possible, not sure how much suppression I'm feeling but it allows me to make healthy choices. I'm using the Team RH app to track food and they prioritise protein and fibre. They've set me a high calorie intake (due to my starting weight) which is a game changer for me as whenever Ive dieted before, I restrict my calories and carbs. None of that this time round for me, and I'm eating really well. Just hope this is the last time I need to lose weight.

GW: no idea

Hello folks, hope all well. I've plateau'd again this week, been on 90kg for 3 weeks in a row 🙁but had a look into it and think my protein might be too low, so going to try drinking a 20g protein drink each day and see what happens. Don't really want to go up to 7.5mg as still have an untouched 5mg pen to use up. My friend went up to 7.5mg and reported feeling awful, that and the increased cost puts me off. Will try to optimise on 5mg before deciding.
SW: 102kg
CW: 90kg
TW: 76.5kg

Im one of the ones that changed to Wegovy due to price increase. I lost 13lbs on my first MJ pen with no side effects. Week 7 on Wegovy and I have not lost anymore weight, constipated and just feeling a bit off.

Returning to MJ I think. I haven't even jabbed with Wegovy today as I just don't see the point as I feel grim.

Will leave it a couple of weeks I think then go back on MJ 2.5mg.

Nice to see people's success here, makes me wish I had just carried on with MJ

MrsSuu · 19/10/2025 18:33

I moved up to 5mg last week. No side effects thankfully and I’ve lose 2.6lbs this week. The suppression is back and it has been really hard trying to eat normally as I just don’t fancy anything. Forced myself to have scrambled eggs today for lunch and I struggled to finish. I have now lost just under 26lb since August, so close to two stone!

I have returned to weight training and running so feeling really happy that I’m slowly returning to my old self. It is such a shame it is now so expensive as I don’t think I will be able to justify the cost much longer.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 19/10/2025 22:18

Hi everyone

No loss for me this week, I’ve been ill with an head cold and also had to have a tooth out. As a result I have eaten poorly. Not overeaten in calorie terms but not enough protein, too much sugar and haven’t been up to exercising.

At least I haven’t gained so that’s something!

Started my 3rd pen today and decided to stay on 2.5 for the time being, will see how the next week or so goes before moving up.

Hello everyone
I’m on week 12 and for last 4 weeks I have barely lost (2 lbs in total). I should have moved up a dose 4 weeks ago as I’m still on 2.5 but just as I was due to move up my mum passed away and my dad took ill and was admitted into hospital. He wouldn’t eat or drink and the only way I could get him to have any intake was to bring food (and family members) in to sit with him and eat alongside. I have just started another 2.5 pen as the funeral is this week so again, I don’t want to risk feeling poorly. With all the stress and running around I should really have lost … I tend to go off food rather than comfort eat but nope! Scales barely budged! I think I will go up to 3.75 after this week is out of the way and see if things start moving again. Need to work out how many clicks I need to do on a 2.5 pen?

RedPony1 · 20/10/2025 11:46

You're all doing so well!

Hope you're feeling better today @MrJollyLivesNextDoor

Weigh in number 8 today and 2lb down
Total loss so far = 23lb 🙌

Moved up to a 5 pen last night, hoping i can stay on that for the rest of my journey

3.75 is 90 clicks in total of a 2.5 pen, i had to use the GD from pen 1 and GD from pen 2 to achieve 4 full doses of 3.75 😊

Very random question, but now that food is no longer the dopamine trigger... is anybody finding they are doing things that are maybe... not as healthy? So I've been spending more and there's been a real urge to smoke (I quit like 10 years ago).

I know it's probably my brain wiring trying to default to old coping mechanisms for boredom, but its feeling a bit like... well, how long can I last. LOL

LnicMJ · 20/10/2025 14:57

Started 3rd pen, 2nd of 5ml yesterday, weigh in this morning -2.5lbs, that's 22.25lbs lost so far CW 11st9.5
Really pleased! Been sooo tired this last couple of weeks though, just got to think of the end goal.
11st 7 has been my nemesis in previous weight loss efforts, got to that and couldn't get passed it so gave up... im hoping this time with the support of MJ it will be a different story 🤞

That’s interesting, I’ve not had that but I have been feeling really anxious and quite depressed and I wondered if it was a side effect of MJ.

I’ve finally lost a stone after 9 weeks on MJ. I’ve got one dose left in my second pen, then I’ll be going cold turkey as I can’t afford to continue.

I've been feeling very similar @Texanchilli . I've been feeling quite jittery, anxious and down - I even cried at work the other day which is so unlike me. I only started feeling like this a couple of weeks ago, I'm wondering if it started when I went up a dose. I'd originally thought it was due to stress as I have a lot going on at the moment but thinking now it might be linked to MJ

RedPony1 · 21/10/2025 08:56

I have had the opposite. I've never suffered with anxiety or depression, but i do have 10,001 things going through my brain at all times, which has definitely quietened down and finding it easier to focus now

AsteriaBuffy · 21/10/2025 09:46

Interesting re psychological side effects - I'd say:

  • I don't find it easier to focus (I'm usually dreadful anyway!)
  • I feel more 'down' more often (although the weight loss helps with feeling more cheerful)
  • tiredness increases when suppression is high, could be related to blood sugar though I do eat 3 meals
  • I'm probably getting more distracted with shopping and researching new home decor projects than usual...

On week 3 of 5mg, it's getting better re side effects (tiredness, slight nausea, feeling bit crap) and lost 2 lbs last week, which was an improvement. However suppression not so great this week. I've got one more dose of 5mg on current pen, and another 5mg pen in the fridge, so will see how it goes, I guess it's an option to do a half-dose more in a couple of weeks time. Though the price of pens as you go up the doses is quite eye-watering!

Does anyone know if there’s a thread for sharing referral codes? I have looked but can’t see any.
I got one for Numan and used it last month and if anyone uses mine they get £100 off and I do too. Anything to save money on this very expensive journey.

@Blowingrasberries I'm so sorry about your mum, and the difficult time you've had. You have a lot on your plate. I wonder if there is some link between your stress and the plateau you've been having. Maybe something as simple as not drinking enough water while you've been doing so much/not thinking about it as much? I seem to get better losses when I have concentrated on my water uptake.

Somethingsnapped · 21/10/2025 19:14

I've reached a bit of a personal milestone today. I weighed myself after two weeks, although I usually try to only do that once a month for various reasons. I'm going on holiday next week and wanted to get an idea where I'm at first, so that I can better monitor any losses/gains/plateau after the holiday. I also wanted to check 2.5 is still working for me as it's been feeling significantly less effective. I'd lost 6lbs, which takes me to about where I was before having children, and out of the obese category. I'm now officially overweight... Woohoo!! 😁

Sorry very boring question here but is everyone eating breakfast and if so what are you eating? Are you prioritizing protein even at breakfast?

Most days (even before MJ) am not hungry so skip it, but I worry that's a habit that doesn't set me up well for rest of the day (I've previously been a mad snacker in the afternoon). I'm torn between feeling pretty silly forcing myself to eat while paying all this money for drugs to make me eat less, and thinking maybe this is the time to build better habits for post MJ life.

Pleeeeeease do not suggest adding protein powder to smoothies, porridge, etc. I would if I could but I assure you that is not for me

I think it's a really good point re where the dopamine comes from now. I also think for those of us who have spent so long numbing or distracting ourselves with food, there's a piece of work around simply getting used to sitting through those feelings. Not something Ive ever really done before if I am honest😬i could also see how other behaviours might start sneaking to to cover that numbing role as well

That's a tough period, I'm really sorry about your mum. I think if you're maintaining during all that, youre doing amazing.

I have been moving up slowly from 2.5 as I was wary of side effects (mainly toxic burps and intense heart burn) so I did full 2.5 plus 10 clicks, then 2.5 plus 20 clicks, this week I will do 2.5 plus 30 clicks which I think comes out as 3.75. so then I will stick there until need to move up.

I eat Greek yogurt with a bit of honey and some oats.
Raspberries if I have some or some fruit puree.

i tried toast at the weekend as I miss jam but i don’t feel great after eating carbs in the morning so i try to limit it to when i eat quite late.
