I had a sneaky weigh in this morning. I’m 4lb of getting into the next stone down. It’s been an extremely long time since I was in that stone bracket! I think 5/6 years.

Somethingsnapped · 07/10/2025 09:37

Morning everyone!
I weighed myself today for my monthly weigh-in. I prefer not looking at the scales too often, so I settled on once a month just before I order the next pen. It's actually been 3 weeks since I decided that, and I've lost 6 lbs in that time. So on average 2 lbs a week, which I'm very pleased with.

SW: 15 st, 11 lbs
CW: 14 st, 9 lbs.
GW: 12 st, 7 lbs.

So a third of the way there! I've decided to stay on 2.5 lbs for my 3rd pen. I'm enjoying the process, with very few side effects. I do have a good appetite now and can get pretty hungry. But it feels controllable, and I still get fuller on less food, and am not really having cravings. I know some people prefer to go up a dose when they start experiencing hunger again, but this is working for me for now, and I do like feeling hunger again, both because I enjoy my food more, and can experiment with will power too, albeit with the kindly helping hand of MJ!

Im not calorie counting. I'm just trying to eat mindfully, avoid UPFs, restrict carbs and sugar. I'll still have cake occasionally if I'm out for example, but I'll cut a third of it off to eat, and take the rest home for the children or dh. Before MJ, I used to do intermittent fasting. I've mostly stopped that now, but I'll keep it up my sleeve for if/when I got a frustrating plateau, to try to kick things off again.

Big well dones to you all!

thatsalad · 07/10/2025 11:06

I took a 3 week break because I had chest pains and was scared MJ was causing it, but now I'm back.

I'm so ashamed but during that time my cravings were back and I spent over £200 on take aways and eating out alone, not counting snacks. So at least I know that MJ is actually cheaper than my food addiction.

But somehow I didn't gain anything during that time ??

Anyway...

SW 92kg
CW 89kg
GW 70kg

TheArtfulCrow · 07/10/2025 13:36

I'm feeling much better than yesterday. The pain is gone and I have an appetite again. If it happens again I'll maybe have to consider reducing my dose again or stopping completely 🤔

saywhaaaaaat · 07/10/2025 14:45

So I'm one week into 5mg and the scales are moving again, hurrah! I'm now down at 84kg which is brilliant. I canot remember my starting weight but I think it was definitely 93/94kg ish.

Really noticing the difference and my body fat and composition are definitely changing.

Started to put more emphasis on calisthenics in my workouts as well. I will be doing pull ups by this time next year!

Went back and checked. Yep it was 94kg. So almost 10kg down total. Wow

Pumpernickelbrakes · 07/10/2025 15:12

Well, I did my first 5mg yesterday morning and so far I am fine. No side effects so far other than leg day being a struggle straight after the shot, which could be chalked up to having had a tiring weekend, and not having much appetite for dinner (had a protein shake, kombucha and a few slices of chicken breast and mango).

Not much appetite today but I’m planning to eat some yogurt and berries and then head to the gym to get in some walking on the treadmill

(it’s morning here and it’s hot AF with savage mosquitoes. Very jealous of you all having nice cool weather for walks)

Sausagedogsarethewurst · 07/10/2025 18:45

W9D1 0.7kg lost this week, which seems to settling to be my ‘normal’ weekly loss, bringing me to a total loss of 8kg. And I’ve gone down a clothes size too, probably really a size and a half as 16 trousers were snug to start and now 14s fit nicely 😁 Decided to stay on 5mg for the next pen as it seems to be working ok still and I don’t want to increase too quickly/unnecessarily.

SW 87kg
CW 79kg
GW 65kg I think!

Sausagedogsarethewurst · 07/10/2025 18:45

@Pumpernickelbrakes where are you?

MrsSuu · 07/10/2025 19:52

I obviously lost track of the weeks and did what I thought was my final 2.5mg this evening (they always provide 5 needles) however it became stuck after priming so I forced it a little and just realised it was actually the golden dose! I am moving up to 5mg next week as I no longer feel the suppression. It would be so lovely to get to my target weight for Christmas.

LnicMJ · 07/10/2025 20:54

7th weigh in for me on Monday, only lost 0.5lb which was frustrating, am now 12st 1lb, 16.75lbs down, which is still a good loss, but I tend to weigh daily to try and keep myself in check and on Sunday I was 11st 13.5lbs, gutted I wasn't that on Monday but that's my official weigh day. Been a very long time since I've been in the 11's and desperate to get there, but I do struggle on the stone and half stone marks, it all slows down for a couple of weeks. Just got to keep on as it will shift at some point. Was also super bloated on Monday too.
Im still keeping on with the gym and weight training and will carry on as I haven't changed anything to cause the slowdown, so assume its body regulating.
Anyway, well done gang for all the hard work and losses, its all going in the right direction and we will be pleased with our progress by Christmas!
Have a good week all!
Ps... sorry for the rant 🤣🤦‍♀️

My weigh in this morning at the end of week 10 and I’ve put on nearly 2lb. Really disappointed as despite doing all the right things my weight loss has definitely stalled. The only positive thing is that I’m not immediately giving in and eating chocolate etc, I’m determined to continue. 3.75
just wasn’t making any difference for me so I’ve just taken my first 5mg jab. I took it before bed last night in case of any side effects but all seems ok so far. Fingers crossed.

Bluefloor · 08/10/2025 10:38

I upped to 5mg on Monday, I’ve struggled to eat a lot since. Any advice.

The first week or two on 5 is like that. By the third and fourth week it’s easy again.
I just made myself eat when I wasn’t hungry because I log every calorie and macros so know what I’m aiming for for healthy diet.
Im at the end of 5 now about to do golden dose tomorrow and I can definitely tell I’m hungrier!

saywhaaaaaat · 08/10/2025 13:30

Jab day today and I haven't done it yet. I feel so fully, i have managed to force down a huel shake which isn't the best but is something. Feeling like I'm going to struggle to eat dinner as well. Bit worried I'll jab and be absolutely unable to eat.

Pigeonenglish · 08/10/2025 13:54

Since starting on August 1, I’ve had no side effects at all until now. I had 7.5 on Sunday and yesterday was plagued with diarrhoea. The stomach cramps woke me in the small hours and I had to make several visits to the toilet. I’ve been burping sulphur [puke] and feel quite grotty.

Not sure how best to manage. Frustratingly I’ve only lost a pound this week so am now 12’12

That sounds rough. Had you eaten anything like pizza or anything a bit unusual like fatty etc? Think that can trigger the tummy at this stage?
This happened to my friend at 7.5 I think, think the diarrhoea is still a bit present for her but not feeling rough anymore.
I hope it passes quickly for you!

Pumpernickelbrakes · 08/10/2025 16:35

Hope you feel better soon @Pigeonenglish

Pumpernickelbrakes · 08/10/2025 16:39

My first significant NSV!
14 yr old DS has shot up to 5’10 and has outgrown his adult size medium combat pants
they are faded af and I was going to chuck them but decided to randomly try them on and they fit!

So new gardening and painting trousers for me.
I am now excited to inherit all his size M trousers. I am now the same size as a medium sized man, which is bloody great.

Everything is learning - including the affordability of not taking the jabs. I darent even think how much I typically spend on shite food, certainly less than the jabs. Not gaining during that time is great progress - well done. Hope the chest pains stay away and you have a great week.

LaGioiosanotLeviosa · 09/10/2025 16:18

So weigh in day for me today. Lost just under 2lbs this week bringing me to 18lbs loss in 8 weeks. Pretty pleased with this as hope it continues as I frankly don’t think I’ll be going down a dress size or look any different until I hit a two stone loss annoyingly!
Anyway I messed up my golden dose AGAIN this month by worrying about the tiny air bubbles (see my panicked thread I created) what an idiot! So did my first jab of 7.5 this afternoon, hoping to stay on this dose for at least a couple of months but will see how it goes.

Is anyone suffering with hair loss? I seem to be losing quite a lot when I brush/wash my hair and I'm sure I can see a lot more of my scalp than I used to be able to.

I'm trying to eat a lot of protein but not managing as much as I probably should. What supplements should I try taking?

Othersideofworld · 09/10/2025 22:18

11th injection (as in 2.5mg third pen) and down over 15kg! One third of the way through my weight loss - suspect the next two thirds will take longer! Been eating super well but little exercise. Congratulations to all, losses or not we are focusing on our health so well done to us all!

I’m sorry to hear that - hair loss does come up quite a bit on the Mounjaro subreddits as a side effect of rapid weight loss. Posters link it to lack of protein and vitamins so it would be probably worth while logging your protein intake and making sure you’re hitting 100g if you can every day. Plus a solid multivitamin - pregnancy vitamins are anecdotally good. You want one that has vitamins A, B, C, D, E, zinc, biotin and iron, and try to eat healthy - Mediterranean style is great, lots of veg pulses olive oil, lean meat and fish etc.

I researched this side effect quite a bit before I started taking MJ. I have Hashimotos thyroid disorder and had bad hair loss before I was diagnosed (and after I had a baby at 40) so was really keen for it not to happen again as it can be very upsetting.

Sending good wishes
