@jan2310 I plateaued for 2 weeks and found that not enough water and eating carbs make a huge difference. I was still in the calorie deficit but it seems what I eat is equally important for my body than how much I eat.

I reduced my carb intake quite a lot, especially pasta.

Same as me 😂👏🏻

This is how much of a fish I lost in 2015 on slimming world (and almost how much of a fish I had regained 10 years on… 😭) I remember being so proud of not carrying that extra weight around. I’m not sure how much this fish weighs exactly but I lost about 3 1/2 st back then.

I've just moved up to 5mg this evening, after 9 weeks at 2.5mg and then one at 3.75mg. I haven't weighed in yet though, I'll do that first thing in the morning.

I'm really hopeful that I've lost some weight this week, after 3-4weeks without any loss. My clothes feel a little looser and I think the roll of fat on my back looks smaller than before which I'm delighted about!

Moving up last week from 2.5 to 3.75mg has done the trick as I've just weighed myself and have lost 4lbs this week after weeks of stalling. Feeling much happier today now

@NeedSleepNowthat’s great!

Onto week 10 now. Second 5mg jab. Lost only a pound this week so a bit disappointed as I had such high suppression and really struggled with eating or drinking anything until the latter half of the week.

Today’s weigh in - 1lb down. Not earth shattering but it’s in the right direction. I have now lost 1.5 stone in 8 weeks which is just brilliant.

I had a horrible cold earlier in the week and consoled myself with jelly tots and Toffifee 🫣
I also drank more tea and less water so I must switch that back. Also even though I have stayed in a calorie deficit (except one day slightly over) I have not focussed on protein and allowed more carbs to creep in.

Interestingly, I used to LOVE toast. Doesn’t matter which bread or which topping although preferably butter. No marmite, I’m not crazy. I could eat it at every meal and in between. I had one piece of toast this week and although ate it I did not really enjoy it. It felt a bit pointless, like what was the all fuss about. Have I really kicked my toast habit??

Also this week I have been more constipated than before - TMI alert - if it wasn’t for this mornings poo (I last went on Wed) I think I might have gained this week 😆.

Had a good wardrobe sort out and now have so many wearable clothes for the winter which has made me very very happy. No more hiding behind big scarves and bottom covering cardigans.

I’m going out on Friday night with friends, I haven’t seen them for months and I am planning to wear a size 14 top which I tried on yesterday and looks really flattering!
I haven’t worn this top for about 5 years and I can’t wait.

So this week: more water, more protein, more fruit juice, no toast, less Toffifee 😋, more exercise.

Good goals, OP! I’m going to adopt them as my own. I was a day late taking my (9th) 2.5 jab and didn’t have much suppresssion on that last day. I tried toast, a couple of bits of shortbread, some chocolate biscuits and a scone - but didn’t enjoy any of them! Onwards and upwards…

Hello everyone, good to hear about your ongoing progress, seems like we're all moving in a positive direction. I'm now on Week 9 and have managed to get down to 90kg so am officially just overweight rather than obese for first time in many years 🎉 I've also lost 4 inches off my bust, 3 inches off my waist and 5 inches off my hips. I'm having to tuck my tops and blouses in as they are all too big now. Realised have been hiding in quite roomy clothes for some time, perhaps was a bit in denial about how large I had become.
SW: 102kg
CW: 90kg
TW: 76.5kg
I'm staying on 5mg for forseeable, don't think I would move up unless I started feeling need to eat more. Hope you all have a good week xx

Some smashing loses! Well done everyone :)

6th weigh in this morning and another -1 gone. No surprised its not as much as it has been, had two meals out last week and went over my calories slightly for those days

Total loss so far = -1st 4.5lb

TheArtfulCrow · 06/10/2025 10:21

I took my second dose of 5mg over the weekend and spent the night sweating, nauseous, awful heartburn, whole abdomen hurts 😫. Pain coming and going now.

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 06/10/2025 11:52

Well done @RedPony1, it’s nice to still be able to have a life on this.

@TheArtfulCrowthat sounds awful. Have you told your prescriber?

RedPony1 · 06/10/2025 12:21

@TheArtfulCrow oh no!! i hope it eases soon!! i'm scared of going from 3.75 to 5 :(

@SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease Oh yes, we have to be realistic with our lives, events happen and i wont miss out on them!

Well done to everyone losing and try hard to lose!

I’m on my 10th jab of 2.5MJ and have lost 14.1kg. I did feel like I’d stalled and made a list of monthly and weekly losses to track the progression - helped me see there was progress even though it stalled. Will discuss higher dose with Dr.

Ive been super strict with my food intake and MJ has made it easier to stick to the diet with manageable cravings. Very little exercise but hoping to prove there.

My first goal will be moving from obese to overweight and I’ve still got 12.9kg to go before I hit that goal. It feels achieveable but not quick. I’d love to get there by Christmas but I don’t want to set myself up to feel pressure or failure. I’m just happy to be dropping weight.

You’ve made really good progress, that’s more than 2 stone in 9 weeks (I’m assuming you only jab once a week). I’ve only lost half that amount in the same timeframe. Which I’m still happy about as it’s more than a stone. You definitely shouldn’t feel like your weight loss has stalled. Well done.

Quick weigh in - W8D1

SW 14 st 4.5 lbs
CW 12 st 12 lbs
GW 11 st 7 lbs

Happy with how it's going - still on 2.5.

Pumpernickelbrakes · 06/10/2025 16:10

Anyone had any issues going from 3.75mg to 5mg before I inject? 3.75mg seems to be working quite well for the last two weeks in terms of energy levels - but I think 5mg will be better for weight loss as it’s officially the first dose the manufacturer recommends (with 2.5mg just being to get your body used to the med).

But I’m worried about side effects and not being able to work out and eat enough.

I haven’t lost lbs this week. I’ve fluctuated between 178 and 177 lbs, slightly up on previous low of 176.5lb.

Trying to work out what the sweet spot is for body recomposition - losing visceral fat and subcutaneous fat but retaining/building muscle. All the weight training sources are telling me to eat more calories. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve worked out with weights and elliptical 5 days out of 7, and eaten under 1400 calories 5 days out of 7. The other two days I came in under 1600 calories.

My protein levels are high - usually over 100g a day and my fibre levels and water intake is also high.

I feel like I’m conducting a science experiment on myself, all this data 📊🤓.

I have lost an inch off my stomach, waist, bum and chest since I last did a body scan on Sept 22 so that’s good.

Good luck everyone, great to read all the positive things happening

AsteriaBuffy · 06/10/2025 16:34

@Pumpernickelbrakes I did two weeks on 3mg, one week on 3.75mg, and am on my second dose of 5mg now. I felt fine on the 3 / 3.75 but didn't lose much, about a pound a week.

After a few days on 5mg I had more suppression but also felt a bit rubbish, more so after the second dose of 5mg as it had built up. When I say rubbish my symptoms are mainly tiredness, mild nausea and generally feeling meh. So nothing dramatic, but not much fun.

However looks like I'm probably going to lose 2lbs this week (weigh in Weds) - so at least that has sped up a bit. I'm going to stick to 5mg next week and hope I get more used to it! I don't do a lot of exercise apart from walking so am not building up muscle. Hope that's helpful, but everyone's different! Good luck whatever you decide.

peanutbutty · 06/10/2025 16:47

Well done everyone, some great losses and even those who feel your loss might be slow, some great habits being good which will all help with maintenance.

I am on my last day of a holiday, I jabbed night before still 2.5 and would love to have lost something with all the extra walking, but who can tell. I'm thinking I might do a few extra clicks and move the dose up a bit, and will probably jab tmrw night instead of waiting for the weekend so that I'm only a few days late. I'd like to see how a bigger dose feels at least, and hopefully that will give a boost to the loss so far.

Pumpernickelbrakes · 06/10/2025 16:57

Thanks @AsteriaBuffy thats really helpful. Hope the side effects are easing and well done on the loss!

Well done everyone with all that weight loss!

I’ve been on holiday and have just started again at 2.5. It’s been good to have a break as it’s focusing my mind on how I’ll cope when I reach my target and go into maintenance. Constantly logging calories, and avoiding ultra processed foods meant that I didn’t put on any weight while I was away. So I’m trying to keep the dose low and calorie count for now. The Mj price increase still stings so I want to use as little of the product as possible.
