I’ve loved reading everyone’s new ability to move, do exercise and the freedom it has given but have been scared so far to start. I have a sedentary job and quite a home-bod so don’t even get exercise from being out and about. So, I bit the bullet this evening and have just done a 10 minute walking workout from You Tube.

It was hard.

Adding to my complete lack of coordination I am so unfit so I must of been a right sight for the neighbours if they’d seen me. However, the only way to change that is to do something so I’ve made a small start, the small start I’ve made in losing weight is adding up so hopefully this will as well. I’d like to think I’ll do this everyday but I think I’ll aim for 3 times a week to start and build it up.

Wish me luck! 🍀

OMG OMG OMG Yay Me

I don't believe it!

I'm finally just OVERWEIGHT.
I didn't realise but since the other day, when my weight went down to 12st 1lb, my BMI is now 29.9!

So I'm no longer OBESE. About time, too.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne congratulations!!

I'm not diagnosed autistic, I suspect I am and it has been suggested by a professional that I am, I don't really want to go through the diagnosis process. The link between the 2 conditions wouldn't surprise me.

Wow so many of us!! I also wonder if we're more likely to worry about "getting it right" /hyper research /join threads like this...

Congratulations @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne and well done on the walk @TheZingyFish !

TragicMuse · 31/08/2025 22:50

Fantastic @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne!

I have a train NSV! My reserved seat was next to someone and for once I wasn’t afraid about squashing them or overhanging my seat into the aisle. I just…sat, without trying to compress myself! (The seat was incredibly uncomfortable for my rapidly decreasing arse!). It felt rather momentous

That had occurred to me.

I'm not diagnosed but almost everything I read about ADHD makes sense to me with how my brain works. I've described it as being noisy chaotic in there, with a thousand things ricocheting around at once. And now I can hyper fixate on the like between ADHD and obesity!
Congratulations @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne , you skinny bitch!

Dontjumptoconclusions · 01/09/2025 09:02

@TheZingyFish congratulations on your workout! Everytime you do it, it will get eaiser. Set small goals, very small doable goals.

There's something called the "just" method.
And it gives you slow steps towards doing something, especially something you might not always want to do, such as exercise.

For example, if I don't want to exercise, but it's time. I say "just" put on my workout clothes. "just drive to the gym and sit in the carpark" . "just" watch the workout on YouTube (I don't have to get up). Guess what, after watching a few mins, then yes I'm exercising. It might not be the best or fastest but it's done and that's the point.

Not every exercise has to be a personal record.

For everyone, don't get into a trap of getting everything absolutely perfect. If you mess up with food in the morning, don't make a morning turn into a full bad day. If you miss your window of exercise, do a shorter workout or do what you can.

TheZingyFish · 01/09/2025 09:06

I love this idea @Dontjumptoconclusions!

I figure for now that doing something badly is better than doing nothing at all and hopefully it will improve with time.

This is Medino's price list now. I think it's the same as the one they published the very day after the increases were announced.

I've got a 10% code if anyone is interested.

Those are very good prices. I think they will get a lot of new customers. Will they take me at 26 BMI? Or lower as I have a few pens in the fridge

Lds1 · 01/09/2025 09:34

I'm going to leave the prices to settle whilst I use up what I have

I honestly don't know, but as you have obviously been on MJ from another provider I think it'll be okay.

Oh, and the bundle of two 15mg pens which I panic bought from Chemist 4U nearly three weeks ago, are going to be delivered today.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Please can you DM your code. I'm going to wait a little longer to decide where im switching to, but by then I'll no doubt have forgotten who had a code so it'll be good to have it in hand.

Also another NSV for me over the weekend....I walked into John Lewis, saw a branded dress in the sale in size 18, and it fit! Im so used to having to buy online from plus size shops or curve collections. But this was just the standard sizes in a high street shop. Feels like my world got a little bigger (and my bank account smaller!).

Mum2Fergus · 01/09/2025 10:41

It’s been 3 days since I submitted order for my next pen and no reply yet which is highly unusual. They (Boots) normally send an email a week before I’m due to order but didn’t even get that this time round - so sent request online confirming staying at 5mgs, that I’m ok with price increase, last jab date and current weight - they normally respond within 24hrs and pen ready for collection a day or so later.

Going on a short break at end of this week too … getting a bit nervous 😬

What was a game changer for me last time I lost significant weight was that walking a mile burns off the same calories as running a mile. I hate running, so the discovery that hating running 5k could be replaced with not hating walking 5k instead helped loads.

Oh no well done yet, I’ve got several inches of towel gap to close (or maybe rentals should provide bigger towels?!). I can’t wait to walk around with a towel that covers all of me 🤣

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden your musings on links between autism and obesity are fascinating. So much of that chimes in with my experience of autism in my family.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne congratulations on being overweight!

I had a stand on the scales this morning, hopefully not too much damage done by my week of holiday.

EverybodysALebowski · 01/09/2025 12:47

Amazing @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne wow wow wow!

Now that you're just a garden-variety overweight person you can't sit with us anymore.
