Anybody else planning to start in September?

I’ve been procrastinating for months but decided to go for it despite the price increases. Waiting for my delivery from Medexpress and planning on 1st Sept start.

Oh, and it's my week 3 weigh- in day today.

Start Weight: 211 lbs, BMI 34.1
1st Goal Weight: 190 lbs (10% bodyweight loss)
Current Weight: 202.6 lbs, BMI 32.7
Total loss: 8.4 lb

Mounjaro, 2.5
Week 1: -1.4 lb
Week 2: -4.4 lb
Week 3: - 2.6lb

Georgelassosthemoon · 26/09/2025 07:53

3 week weigh in for me too. I’m a bit frustrated tbh. Big loss the first week which will have been water then seems to have slowed to 0.5lbs this week.

outofofficeagain · 26/09/2025 07:58

I’m away this weekend and had sneaky weigh in before I went.

I’m 99.7kg. So under 100kg which mentally feels like a big step.

I’m not getting much food suppression though and not telling friends I’m away with about the jabs so who knows!

A loss is still a loss and I do think our bodies sometimes cling on- you might see a big loss again next week.

I asked the pharmacist about this as mine are up and down, and she said its normal to have a big flush of water and glycogen and then a pause. And then after that its actual body fat you're losing. Fingers crossed its just that!

I lost nothing last week. Moved my jab from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning and have lost 1.75lbs this week. I think I was sleeping through the strongest suppression of the week.

lulu1921 · 26/09/2025 08:56

Well, what a difference a day makes!
I really needed that to happen, yesterday my headaches subsided and I felt interested in food for the first time since Sun.
This morning, wow, the bloating is back and I'm full of wind, sorry tmi but totally normal for me.
So there is the reassurance that I needed that this feeling will wear off until I jab again.
I had the fear that I was going to me miserable the whole entire time but I can totally cope with headaches for the first few days.
Hope you're all ok 😀

Having lost a pound or two each day, today I put on 2 pounds - but according to my scales it's all muscle, not fat. Thought that might be reassuring to anyone who's finding the weight isn't coming off as quickly as they'd like, maybe your body composition is just changing

Shwighty1 · 26/09/2025 10:00

Morning all, voting this over from the July thread I accidentally posted on 😂 I’ve joined the gang in September, still only on week one. I reopened my fitness pal after a year or two so interesting to have that historical log of my weight, I’ve always been a size 12/14 up until covid. I just haven’t been able to reduce down since then, so giving it a go with this as I’m approaching menopause, in a much more sedate job, currently recovering from a knee ligament injury all of which has not been helping my efforts without mounjaro. I’m 5’10, 14:12 sw, goal is 11:7 and encouraging my husband to lose the same. I’m finding the suppression really good for snacking and reducing portion sizes great, I’m not thinking I need to raid the snack cupboard. Am hoping this continues, I’m working on increasing protein and really focusing on upping my water intake. The only side effects so far is feeling a little nauseous.

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 26/09/2025 10:04

@namechange0998776554799000 what type of scales you’re using? I might need to upgrade mine as it would be interesting to see the change in fat/muscle.

I've got Withings ones, they're a few years old now

Weigh in day as I will be taking my third injection today

Stats since starting Mounjaro

SW 248lb
CW 243lb
Do not have a target loss!

WK 1 loss 3lb
WK 2 loss 2lb
BMI 40.6

I’m quite pleased with that as I had two difficult days this week with social events and I know I ate too much cake at my Cake Club meeting! I did have a couple of low eating days due to diarrhoea though!

My initial loss is not water related as I’ve been dieting without Mounjaro for about three months and already lost a bit - no idea what as I only started weighing part was through when my weight was 261lb. I was 269lb when I last saw my knee consultant and my target is to reduce my BMI from 44.7 before knee replacement surgery.

Q about protein powders.. I bought a blender and looking into smoothie recipes. Does anyone have any recommendations which one to buy, nothing too sweet so either no flavour at all or something with berry or vanilla flavour.

Hello 👋🏼 First time posting here. I usually have Per4m Whey Advanced Protein, as there's so many flavours to choose from. Hope this helps 🙂

Today is my fifth injection. Just got the golden dose from my first pen!! 🥳

I bought a 10pack of the orange 1ml insulin syringes from Amazon and extracted 60 units as per the videos and injected it. It was actually much easier to extract and inject than the faffing of twisting and clicking the original pen.

I’ve got my next 2.5mg pen in the fridge but I might order a 5mg pen next time and stick with half doses of 2.5mg, to save money. I’ll give that some thought over the next week or two.

I’ll check and update my weight tomorrow morning.
Hoping for another 2lb loss. 🤞

I have been following all these threads and I decided to follow suit so I started mounjaro today. I don't know what to expect but I pray I fall into the no symptoms team....fingers crossed :)

SW: 13.35

24 hours update - I have been experiencing headaches and tiredness but all manageable. Feeling the suppression, also feeling full after small portions of food

functionoverform · 26/09/2025 18:25

Week 5 weigh in for me, also managed to get the golden dose from a 2.5 pen using med express syringes. Next week I want to step up to 3.75 next using my 5mg pen I think as I can feel the suppression wearing off but managing to control the snacking.

SW: 100.3 kg
CW: 95.3 so happy with the gradual loss. Need to still up protein intake though - have been tracking everything so that has helped.

Happy with progress so far, but the cost of a 5mg pen is eye watering...

Well done to everyone - am enjoying lurking and reading the progress/ experiences.

Hoping for another 2lb loss. 🤞

Would that be affected by the 30 day use by limit? I have been considering this too but am not sure how good it would be if used over 2 months. I read around a little bit and people said it’s not strictly bad for you after 30 days but the chances of the red seal letting infection in may start to outweigh the efficacy of the medicine. Hope that makes sense and I haven’t misunderstood you.

Pinkbox · 26/09/2025 19:39

Also I have lost 4.5lb over the first nine days, so half a pound a day. If this continues I make that approx a stone a month, here’s hoping!

I have done MyFitnessPal religiously at 1200 cals and yesterday I almost hit my macro targets, which I find really hard as there seem to be carbs and fat everywhere 😂

I got a 24 hour temple ache after the second jab and was nauseous today (day 2) but nowhere near as bad as last week.

SerafinasGoose · 26/09/2025 21:13

Dose #5 and weigh-in day:

Start Weight: 15 st, BMI 30
1st Goal Weight: 13 st 7 (9% bodyweight loss)
Current Weight: 14 st 5 lb, BMI 29.7

Losses

Pre-starting - 2 lb
Week 1 - 5 lb
Week 2 - 0
Week 3 – 1 lb
Week 4 – 1 lb

JustPickleRick · 27/09/2025 09:23

Did jab number 5 last night and weighed this morning. I tried to do the golden dose from the pen as I forgot to buy some insulin needles. It tricks you thinking it will spin then only spins some way 😅 never mind! 2nd pen of 2.5 started. I will stick on this for as long as I can. I'm definitely using more will power than when I first started taking it but still losing.

3lb down this week

SW: 12 st 9
CW: 11 st 1

22lbs lost in total!

Last week -3lbs, total 18lbs!

I’ve taken the golden dose with syringe, no issues. I ordered my next pen and decided to stay on 2.5mg as the weight is coming off, suppression feels right, no side effects and I can manage now 1200-1400 calories per day.

This week’s investments: blender, protein powder and new scales!

@JustPickleRick I checked the clicks after taking the 5th dose and as you say, it starts turning and stops after few turns. I tried to force is but couldn’t get it moving so definitely need a syringe to do it. And well done on your loss so far, you’re doing great!

So are you! That's a really impressive loss, you must feel so much better.

I've been doing weights and am gutted to be experiencing some joint pain in my left elbow! I'm going to have to knock it off until this improves, but it was making such a difference to the way I feel. Always something eh? 😆

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 27/09/2025 10:20

@SerafinasGoose thank you! I’m pleased so far. Apart from wk 3 when I was starving, mj is working. I feel hunger before meals but then fill up without eating too much. I feel like I have more energy and stomach area feels lighter. The lack of cravings surprises me, my downfall is sweet stuff and I have been able to resist these really easily. Another eye opener has been the calorie counting and reality of my portion sizes… and how much I used to eat 🤦‍♀️

Thanks, well done to you too! I wonder if we'll start slowing down soon? I've looked on the August thread and quite a few are reporting a stall after a while.

I knew it wasn't going to turn but thought I'd try anyway (had spare needle heads). I guess i could have grabbed some pliers but I didn't like the idea that i'm not sure of the dose going in. Syringe is the way forward. Maybe i'll get some for my next golden dose.

That's inevitable but it doesn't negate what's been achieved so far.

I lost 5 lbs in week 2, nothing the week after that, and then slowed down to a steady 1 lb per week over the subsequent two weeks, but with a calorie deficit of about 1300 - 1200 is about as low as it's possible to go safely and I did hit that average one week.

I've been known to plateau for weeks at a time. It's very dispiriting. But this does happen as part of the bigger picture, and sometimes the body does let go of a few pounds after this.

I've tried to focus less on what's going on on a daily basis, and to think about my weekly and four-weekly averages. I use Nutra Check - it maps how much protein, fats, carbs, sugars etc you eat and works out your averages for you. This stuff never sees linear progress. As long as the basic trends are there, if you stick to your goals you should eventually reach them.

These apps are a godsend and worth investing in for a nominal fee. I've found mine really helps me stay on track.

jigsawmeup · 27/09/2025 11:06

Wow those are amazing losses @JustPickleRickand @SnowWhiteisMyFavouriteAny tips?!

I am not noticing any greater suppression on 5mg yet. I have been quite ill this week though. I was worried it might be the dose increase as had really bad headache but it feels more like seasonal flu type thing as also have had cough/cold symptoms which means I haven't felt like exercising.
