Thank you for all your good wishes. We’re both widowed (#f*ckcancer) and this is a happy ever after that neither of us even hoped for, far less expected.

But I really would like to lose enough weight to be happy in my wedding dress and with the photos. So, here I go….

That’s a beautiful ring @0ncemorewithfee1ingand even more wonderful that you’ve found each other to make something joyous after both experiencing such tragedy. Wishing you all the love & happiness! ❤️

PenelopePoweringOn · 28/08/2025 06:25

Congratulations @0ncemorewithfee1ing 😍, what a beautiful ring, I wish you both every happiness.

Hectic week for me, haven’t read everything 🤯, will check in on my train if I can. Feeling grumpy tbh.

I’ve got several offers on my house, including above asking, haven’t made a decision yet as my head didn’t have any space for it yesterday but I need to get my arse in gear today. I’ve taken a couple of days leave to try to view a few properties.

My weight is getting on my nerves, I seem to be dancing 💃 around 84kg in the same way I did at 90kg, bloody tedious.

Happy Thursday 🌼.

meatyryvita · 28/08/2025 07:04

Official weigh in day and the 1.5lbs that showed as lost on Monday found their way back and so another STS week. I’ve asked SheMed to give me a Wegovy dose equivalent to 10mg Mounjaro given I was due to move up this time around. Let’s see if the faff about.

I've taken 5mg today and going to get back on the calorie counting wagon. I am a healthy bmi now so I can lose some more ( would like a buffer) or not!
This month I haven't really lost anything so that has been a bit if a plateau with holidays etc.
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing xxx

Let us know how you get on!

myladyjane · 28/08/2025 08:12

Morning all.

@PenelopePoweringOn I am sorry you are n a grump. I hope the day gets better.

@Jins I hope you have a better day too.

@HeidiLite have a good trip. I still get no comments from anyone on anything and actually I am getting unreasonably offended. I demonstrably look better all round. I am dressing better, my skin looks healthier so it’s not just about weight. But it’s like I’m not worthy of notice.

I got my 2 pens yesterday so phew. I may also have one coming from juniper (they wanted photos of my uncovered stomach- they are the only ones) but if it’s not at the pre sept price I will cancel so let’s see. Works night out tonight for a leaving do which should be fun but I will feel like their mum bless em. Then jab night when I get home, down another click I think.

good day all

BreezyPeer · 28/08/2025 08:23

@HeidiLite enjoy the wedding and the inevitable compliments!
@0ncemorewithfee1ing ooh wedding dress shopping! 👰 how exciting xx
@PenelopePoweringOn you are a house sale genius! It's great that you have many offers. Good idea to take a bit of time to look at places to move to. 😀
The plateau is a real issue as we all get towards goal. I am taking the zen approach that its a 'reset' of my 'set weight' and I need to 'settle ' at a new weight before I lose more. However, I also recognise that, for me, my plateaus have always been around the weights that are somehow significant, eg overweight rather than obese, healthy bmi rather than overweight and now, I am just keeping above the first weight I ever started dieting at in my early 20s. I'm on it now- counting calories to lose this 5lb to my next interim goal ( which might become my final goal!)
I hope you break your stalemate with 84kg

Jins · 28/08/2025 09:22

Morning all. Not really keeping up with the thread at this point but the highlights are fabulous. Feeling a bit better today, I think it’s probably end of summer vibes coupled with a bit of poor sleep.

Still going well on 5mg. Obviously no idea of where my weight is but I’m not feeling the same enthusiasm for stopping for pub lunches as DH is. Yesterday was a winner in the Haddon Hall tearoom - jacket potato with lamb ragu and salad for him and a GF florentine for me. It’s been a revelation seeing just how much that man eats in a day. I haven’t noticed before because I’ve generally been matching him to make sure I get my share.

Today will be a pottering around sort of day and we’re going to head home tomorrow night rather than Saturday lunchtime in the hope of avoiding traffic on these fiendishly narrow lanes. The best route has been closed so the only way home will be nerve racking.

@HeidiLite Enjoy the compliments! 🤗

@myladyjane Most people feel that it's not appropriate to compliment someone on weight loss (they might be ill etc.), very similar to it not being appropriate to ask someone if they are pregnant! Most compliments I've been getting so far skirted around the weightloss, it was all more 'you look so well' etc. It's a funny world we live in!

@PenelopePoweringOn Grumpy here today, too. I managed to catch a stinking cold and feel rotten. But I do need to complete this assessment today for a new job I'm applying for, even though my brain feels like cotton wool. I got made redundant at the beginning of August, and can't really afford to take much time out between jobs - not if I want to continue with mj!! 🤑

myladyjane · 28/08/2025 12:30

@cloudjumper I do get that. It’s more a case of I want them to say ‘you look well’ because I think I do! I’ve had a lifetime of ‘such a pretty face/ohh you have nice hair so I’d just like one person to do a generic ‘you look good’. Maybe I do look like a sack of spuds though and am delusional ;). I know iabu though!

I hope you feel better soon. Seems to be a lot of bugs flying atm.

@jins- safe trip back. I find the husband observations amusing. Mine has suddenly clocked that he is perhaps overdoing biscuits now - he’s not mj levels, just slightly overweight but he is perhaps a bit more aware than he was…..

Grecianrainbow · 28/08/2025 13:31

So it looks like my provider price will be about £80 more than before. I think I can swallow that to stay on mj rather than switching to Wegovy. I may need to change my plans re ongoing maintenance though.

That's pretty decent @Grecianrainbow . Had the SheMed price uptick been around that figure, I'd have been fine. It's going from £99 to £299!

WOW I didn’t realise it was that much of an increase?! That is crazy.

Grecianrainbow · 28/08/2025 13:56

Oof that is a massive jump!

discov · 28/08/2025 14:12

My 5 and 2.5mg pens arrived today, and I’m due to do the first dose from my 7.5 this evening. It feels weird going downwards now! Hopefully it won’t be too awful. I am very worried about food noise taking over my life again - I can’t go back to living like that.

I think I’m going to start increasing the time between doses to 10 days too and see how I get on. The past few weeks I’ve forgotten to take it and accidentally increased the time anyway so might as well carry on.

BlueLimes · 28/08/2025 14:37

I’d love Voy to tell say what the new price is, they are one of the more expensive ones anyway - so I may need to swap. I’ve a pen arriving next week at usual price.

when you swap - have you submitted GP details? I quite like the privacy of my small GP village practice not knowing.

I’ve just had my Jab 5 days late - pretty immediately has switched off my snacking urge. It’s hard to know how much I was in holiday zone or if I’ve no will power whatsoever.

Re necks - in the photos at start of trip - it’s looking scrawny (at 9 stone 4). Hard to know what I’ve gained - possibly 4/5 lbs. Neck not as bad, so maybe I now need to tone rather than lose apart from my stomach has a lot of fat still.

@discov thats a good plan
@myladyjane there's no way people won’t have noticed - loads of people haven’t commented at my work (the skinny people !!).
@jins hope you feel brighter today.

Sorry if I’ve missed anything.

BlueLimes · 28/08/2025 14:48

@cloudjumper hope you feel better soon and good luck with job applications.

@PenelopePoweringOn so much progress !

2025istheyeari · 28/08/2025 15:50

That’s really wonderful @0ncemorewithfee1ing , I’m so happy for you both!

@PenelopePoweringOn, @Jins and @cloudjumper hope you all feel
a bit brighter soon. Amazing news on the house @PenelopePoweringOn !!!

Some of these price increases are bonkers, others less so, I wonder if some of the pharmacies were almost selling this as a loss leader or whether they were getting mahoosive discounts which have now gone!

I’m constantly hungry atm and have noticed snacking has crept back in. I am exercising more, I’ve swum every morning this week, walked more than 10k steps may days and done an aqua class today so wondering whether that may be why. I’ve also put a pound on, no idea how, I had those fish and chips at the weekend but counted calories. Hoping it buggers off before weigh day on Sat!

enjoy the wedding and the UK @HeidiLite.
@BreezyPeer well done, you are had an inch taller than me and we had a similar starting weight. I love your approach, trying to tell myself the same- in healthy weight range, at a set point etc but sometimes it’s hard!

@myladyjane it’s hard, I’ll always compliment people I know well, but some people won’t. I know what you mean though, nice for someone to say it!! Enjoy your night out.

Right, back to my Linked in profile. Like you @cloudjumper i was made redundant at the end of June and after pretty much the whole summer off I really do need to pull my finger out! Just been contacted about a fab sounding job and a couple of other possibilities in the offing so 🤞🏻 for us both!

MJalltheway · 28/08/2025 16:31

Gosh, so many messages to read and catch up on!
Huge congratulations to @0ncemorewithfee1ing , beautiful ring!
@BlueLimes Voy said initially they wouldn't increase the price until mid-sept so that might be why they are taking their time?

Good luck to all the job hunters 🤞
Ive done quite a bit of thinking and talking with DH since I pulled out of the interview this week and I have a potential retraining plan in mind.
