Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Hope everyone’s doing okay. 1lb on last week, 1lb on this week. Not too bothered though as just tonight and tomorrow to get through and then life can return to some sort of normality!

Happy New Year all and I hope 2026 brings happy, healthy lives for us all 🎉🎉🎉

Merlin23 · 31/12/2025 09:20

What scales do you all use?
I am thinking of buying some body analyser scales so I can see what my weight loss means in terms of fat loss and muscle.
I don't want to spend a lot of money.

If only the calories had disappeared!

Oh if only they had @Merlin23 😂. It’s the increased grazing of visible and constantly accessible party nibbles that got me, so will definitely be glad to see the back of them.

I use the Renpho scales and app (although I have to use the older app because my data won’t port over) and it’s great for tracking the changes and trends…although you’ll be starting from a lovely clean slate of healthy weight etc 🌟 . Currently around £20 on Amazon depending on which model you go for.

Thanks, I have seen them on Argos in the sale under £20

I have just been through my pantry and binned 2 bin bags of out of date food, lots of herbs and spices and any ultra processed food that I won't be using in my new outlook.
Obviously I kept the biscuits and chocolate for my slim family, who won't be avoiding UPF.
New year, new me, new healthier outlook!

wlinewbie0425 · 01/01/2026 06:15

Happy New Year everyone!! Hope that you’ve all managed to enjoy the festive season in a way that’s worked for you and we can all now look forward to 2026 and getting back to our longer term successful health progress!

NY resolution for me is to really focus on toning up. Got to be more consistent with strength training. Sticking with 2.5mg a week for quite a while now is my plan, aiming to maintain, not lose.

I’ll add a new thread soon too! Couldn’t have imagined so many of us would continue across all these months supporting one another so thank you to all of you for an amazing 2025. I couldn’t have dared to hope for starting this new year so much healthier and happier in myself.

Happy New Year to you all.

Have had an incredibly disappointing start to 2026 as I've had a massive gain (+3.5lbs!!!) which has been my only gain since starting.

It's all a bit skewed as I was ill with the flu so lost like 4.5lbs in 10 days (I weighed in early before Christmas). So comparing it to my last none flu weight I'm still 0.5lb down.

I haven't eaten crazily but after a week of no food when poorly - the thought of eating literally made me heave for 3/4 days - I've managed 4 Christmas dinners (4 days not all at once!) and 2 take aways. So I think that explains it 😅

Back to it from today though.

Merlin23 · 02/01/2026 09:23

Happy New Year!

Weigh in day.
1lb off
I'm happy with that. My good choices over the last 2 weeks have paid off.
SW 202lbs 14st 6lbs
CW 127lbs 9st 1lbs.
My new year, new me plans are to eat clean and only eat ultra processed food as a treat. I will do one more 5mg jab next week then tritrate down to 2.5mg.
I pick up new scales later that will educate me as to my body composition. Then I will see if I need to build more muscle.
I have been reading lots of books about UPF and their dangers. I am very worried about stopping the jabs completely so I may look at a maintenance plan in the spring. I have enough mj until the end of May to microdose but I think I need to be on a low dose longer. I need to make my brain change it's weight set point. I think my brain wants to be at about 14 stone as that's where I end up.

PumpKim · 03/01/2026 17:44

@Crunchymum sorry to hear you've been unwell. I'm under the weather too, can't say it's flu as I'm still functioning but feeling really rough and exhausted, with a cough and just can't face food. I was thinking my suppression was too high and was considering microdosing back down from my current 10mg, but with you also saying you couldn't eat, I'm thinking it may be this virus - I've literally just heaved taking a bite of toast (sorry TMI) which is weird because I don't have stomach ache or anything just the thought of eating it brought on that reaction! The dog was pleased!
Hopefully this won't last much longer, I hate having no energy and it's felt like such a waste of my time off work 😞
The scales also haven't moved! How is that fair 😂

Crunchymum · 03/01/2026 17:55

Bless you @PumpKim it could well be actual illness?

I had a few days of cough / cold / high temp / sore throat etc but that cleared up and I was then left with the inability to eat much at all. I was slightly nauseous but no tummy ache or dodgy tummy etc. I just couldn't face food at all. Not even my favourite stuff (we had all our Xmas goodies in by then and even the thought of them made me dry heave). I have been on 10mg for some time though so know what my 'normal' suppression level is like and knew it was definitely illness. Although I did jab mid illness and with hindsight I should have skipped a week.

I was never bed bound and didn’t have all the classic flu symptoms (no headache for example) but I was incredibly poorly for a good 10 days.... most of that was lack of appetite and lack of energy from eating so little. I just felt so poorly without being able to pinpoint how/why/ where. It was very odd!!

The loss I did have from it didn't stick either.

Hoping you feel better soon ❤️

Merlin23 · 03/01/2026 18:06

@Crunchymum
@PumpKim
I think there is a virus out there that is somewhere between cold and flu.
I had a really bad cold leading up to Christmas I was so exhausted but not achy like flu. Im still bunged up and coughing, back to work Tuesday to a room of germ infested toddlers.
Hope you are both better soon. It's such a horrible time to be ill.

PumpKim · 03/01/2026 18:29

Thanks @Merlin23
@Crunchymum yes, I'm having the same symptoms, feel really unwell but can't pinpoint it. I'm on my third 10mg pen so did think it would be odd if all of a sudden it was too much. I also jabbed on my first day of feeling unwell which was probably a silly thing to do.

Zebracat · 03/01/2026 22:21

85.3 today, so a small loss, still a few pounds above my pre Christmas weight. I don’t think I’ve been silly, but we’ve had this shocking cold and I’ve not been swimming for ages. Also I have been a bit silly, scones and Yule log today.

Hawkmoth · 04/01/2026 09:48

Happy New Year everyone. As of today, 38.8kg down, which is, amazingly, over 6 stone. Just keeping going with it, slowed a bit, but sure it will pick up once my Christmas Lindor have gone. They taste even better than normal when it's 1 a day (tried 2 and felt v sick).

dozywelshbird · 04/01/2026 13:46

Sorry to hear lots of people are poorly 😔 hope you are all feeling better soon

I've eaten and drank whatever I've fancied this Xmas/NY which has been reserved some days and all out on others, got on scale and I've gained 2lbs which I'm not mad at, most festive periods could easily have been 5+lbs previously 🫣

Looking forward to getting back into the routine of work etc and getting rid of about another 15lbs, I'm currently on 7.5mg and debating whether to move up or not? Might give it a couple of weeks and see how it goes...

Happy Sunday everyone 😁

bridgetreilly · 04/01/2026 14:31

Well, I started the new year with a lovely, not spicy, homemade curry on Jan 1st, that was apparently still too spicy for my MJ tummy. That was a grim night of stomach cramps, eventually succumbing to D&V. No one else ill at all, and didn’t feel like food poisoning. Pretty sure it was the MJ.

Anyway, I have lost my Christmas pounds, as a result! Starting 2026 at 3.5 stones down.

Hope it is a great year for you all!

wendywoopywoo222 · 04/01/2026 19:44

Happy New Year to you all. 🎉🎉🎉 I managed to lose three pounds over Christmas so started the New Year 5 stone and 4 pounds lighter 😊. Have set a new target so 3 stone 2 to go which I will hope to have got rid of by next Christmas. Still motoring along at 2.5 every 9/10 days. Looking forward to lots more targets being met by us all this year. Xx

PeachSnail · 05/01/2026 07:55

Happy new year! 🎊
Just stepped on the scales and it's a 0.6kg gain for me this week... Hardly surprising as I went to a NYE party, had a new year's day hangover and have been trying to polish off the Xmas chocolate and cake this week! Could have been much worse, I suppose!
Will need to try to knuckle down to some good habits this week as the kids return to school 💪🏻

Merlin23 · 05/01/2026 10:58

Well I got my new scales. I went for the Renpho morphoscan.
Exactly the same weight as my other scales Phew!
The insights are fascinating.
I am healthy and have the right levels of muscle.
Fat could be lower but it's in the healthy range.
At least I've lost fat and not muscle.
I am going to eat freshly prepared food and as little UPF as I can. A treat should be treat.
I am thinking of joining a maintenance sight from April. I have enough MJ until May but I want to stay on a low dose, so my body resets its set point!

Interesting read and pleased the mainstream media are catching up!

Great read @Merlin23
Love this quote: "Obesity is not a failure of character. It's a complex, chronic condition shaped by biology and a highly obesogenic environment. Willpower alone is not enough and framing weight loss as solely a matter of discipline does harm."

Well done on making the effort to minimise the UPFs... I think that's a really powerful way of trying to combat living in an "obesogenic environment" 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

BudgieMom · 05/01/2026 17:59

Wee 35-36 weigh ins and I've put on 1lb over the last 2 weeks I'm so chuffed with that!! Last christmas I put on 5 and then couldn't get back into it MJ is a saviour! Hope everyone had a great Xmas and New Year 😊

BeachBodyAim · 05/01/2026 18:28

Hello everyone!!

I’ve been quiet on here over Christmas and New Year!! Hope you all had a wonderful time and those who were poorly are feeling better!!!
I’ve put on 2lb over the festival period and I’m delighted with that (previous Christmas’s and New Years it would have been 7lb plus!!!)
I’ve had what I wanted, when I wanted but honestly not a tenth of a normal year!!!
So, ladies and gents, let’s get our shit together now and get focused on our new glorious bodies 😝 we’ve got this!!!! 💪🏻☺️

wlinewbie0425 · 06/01/2026 04:22

Nice to see lots of us are still around as we move into the first regular back to school week of 2026 - for me new year health kick/weight loss plans have always started the Monday when DDs go back to school. This year we were all away over new year so I had a long break from my scales (usually a daily weighed). I’ve been very active, but eating whatever I fancied over this time. jabbed before leaving but had the longest gap since starting now it’s been 10 days and dose diary level is lowest since start. I’ve been aware throughout that I wasn’t snacking like I usually do and didn’t finish all meals, drank much less than when we did this winter break in the past, but have definitely had more unhealthy and high calorie/fat food than the whole of my MJ journey so far…

So I weighed, expecting anything from a few lbs to half a stone gain… but amazingly, I have maintained at the lowest weight I saw in December. I’ve not felt deprived, enjoyed everything I fancied and been able to do all the activities like I used to, which would have been really uncomfortable due to my size a year ago, fit into all the clothes for it that I still had, so didn’t have to buy new stuff and there are also so many photos including me - that I don’t hate, lovely memories of a wonderful family trip.

Feeling reflective, so I also did some more calculations - my year-on-year loss from start of Jan2025 (all time highest) to today is 4stone 9lb/ 65lb/ 29.5kg. Which is a loss of 32%. Almost 1/3 smaller person. When I look at it in hard numbers like this and remember how awful and out of control I felt this time last year I am in awe. Mounjaro really has given me myself, my health and happiness back. Worth every penny and terrible photo I had to submit! And thank you to all of you for the support and laughs along the way.

Hi @BeachBodyAim @BudgieMom@PeachSnail@dozywelshbirdand congrats on negligible gain and starting 2026 feeling positive 🎉

insaw that headline too @Merlin23will go have a read shortly, agreee with @PeachSnailand will be focusing on reducing crap and increasing movement and strength in place of weight loss from now one. @Merlin23i think I will run out of MJ around April/May too based on current stash and sub dosing plan, so I want to use that time to maintain and embed healthy habits to see if my body can do this without.

sorry to hear you’ve been poorly @PumpKim @Zebracat@bridgetreillyand @Crunchymumnot a nice way to start the year and hope you’re both doing better now.

@Hawkmothover 6 stone is a phenomenal achievement well done 🎉 and @wendywoopywoo222with your great loss over Christmas too - amazing that this is now possible 🎉
