Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Well done @Crunchymum- 1.5lbs is amazing! And well done everyone else on the losses and STSs - even a teenie weenie gain is an accomplishment at this time of year. Next week will likely be challenging for many of us - I am fully expecting to have a gain, a Boxing Day weigh in seems harsh! But the gain will come off and look at how far we’ve all come. Wow!

I’ve lost 0.7lb this week taking me to 8st 10.8 which is 0.8lbs from goal. I had hoped to be at goal before Christmas but that’s not really important. Maybe I would have made it if I hadn’t stopped jabbing? Who knows and I’m not bothered 😀

My level now (according to Shotsy) is 0.26mg - forecast to be 0.05mg on Christmas Day, so basically going it alone. However, the massive change in my eating habits and resulting inability to scoff vast portions should keep me from falling too far.

I have been quite hungry off and on this week. I enjoy the hunger as I feel in control of my eating. Apart from at bedtime - I hate feeling hungry at bedtime!

I still have my 2 x 2.5mg pens in the fridge for January if needed but I have cancelled my Juniper subscription - they have said that (after cancelling) they won’t prescribe for me again until my BMI is over 22, which doesn’t worry me as that’s just one large meal away from where I am now 😂

Have a fabulous 50th @Coventree! My fifties were my favourite decade so far - strong and confident, with less demanding childcare and not quite in the parental care area (although I appreciate we all have different situations). I must say I’m thoroughly enjoying my 60s too!

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas! Thanks you all so much for your company, support and wisdom this year - I love you all 💕

See you on the other side 🎄🦃🥂

Merlin23 · 19/12/2025 09:41

It's another 1lb gone. 74lbs total loss.
1lb loss after being surrounded by chocolates at work. I succumbed to one celebration chocolate after lunch, that would have been 6-10 last year.
Jabbed last night 5mg, 3 more 5mg to go then I'm going to go down to 2.5mg. Got to be so careful as watching the scale numbers go down is addictive. I need to get my head around trying to keep them the same in a few weeks and not stressing if the number goes up a little.

Happy 50th @Coventree
Welcome to the 50s club!
Have a good week everyone! Enjoy some treats we are allowed to have a treat!

Well done everyone and happy 50th for Monday @Coventree !

I have sts this week, but I have been really bad over the last couple of weeks. It was DH's birthday and everyone has been ill in the house. It hasn't been good for food choices!
But I'm due to go up to 10mg on Boxing day so I hope that will help me get back on track for my last week of 2025, and start 2026 well.

Happy weekend my lovely April MJ buddies!
I feel a little delirious this morning. I finished up work for the year yesterday, had my first very large Baileys of the season as well as a hearty pub lunch (left most of the chips of course but that’s just normal now) and my period is due any day, but…

my weight on the scales today started with a 9! I’m a bit shocked - really would never have believed it possible.

Anyway - I don’t have work for a couple of weeks so I will make an effort to catch up properly here.

Most importantly happy birthday weekend and for Monday @Coventree- how wonderful to be starting your next decade feeling healthy and confident. Mine is not all that many years off and my goal is to still feel that way at 50 and beyond.

Well done @Coffeeandallthebooks@AbundanceofKatherines@dozywelshbird@Crunchymum@Coventree@wendywoopywoo222@cannyvalley@BudgieMom@PeachSnail@PumpKimloss or sts is fabulous this month!

@StartingApril2025half a lb is nothing - think back to previous Decembers - we would all be piling on half a stone a fortnight!

@PeachSnailwell done on the size 10s! I have been considering trying some too - some of my 12s now have comfortable slack but probably just getting worn in! I do love being back in size 10 tops (I’m a pear although my arse has lost more than ever before with MJ so I think I might he be like you now and able to squeeze into some) -will try when the shops aren’t so busy!
@Merlin23thank you for reminding me about my dream of getting back into combats and a vest - all saints style - that I had before this journey - that will be my next purchase as I lived in that look in my 20s! No baby bump though 😅

@wlinewbie0425
That is an amazing difference. I don't do photos. So I have no progress pictures.
The only photo I have is a head and shoulders work profile picture.

Christmas is nearly here! How we have all done so well in 2025. We are all going into 2026 as much healthier versions of ourselves!

wlinewbie0425 · 20/12/2025 12:23

I didn’t take pics back then normally either I found those on my phone when searching back that I had forgotten to delete when consulting DH from a changing room about choice of Xmas day jumper in a last minute panic last year when nothing fit 😩 so happy that this year the hardest part is being spoilt for choice of what to wear.

That’s all my larger clothes gone this morning! Took them all to a local charity shop. Feels like a big positive step that I finally believe I won’t go back there to need them.

Morning. 83.6 today so that’s a small loss of 200 grams. But that’s nearly a stick of butter! I know I’m eating properly and moving so I’m not worried (also I’m a bit bunged up, time to start with the 2nd kiwi). Got hordes of visitors arriving today so we will see how it goes. I love you lot too, been such a help. I think I might be here again before it’s all over, but if I’m not, Happy Christmas!

Zebracat · 20/12/2025 13:17

@wlinewbie0425 I want the green jumper. Where’s it from? You look fabulous!

Thank you - just Peacocks last week so they may still have some! Love a sparkly Xmas jumper that’s not too full on!

Progress has been super-slow here but I finally made it to 3 1/2 stone today, and I am very glad to have done so. That’s a stone in the last six months, and frankly if I keep going at that rate, that’s fine. Talked to my nurse (am on NHS prescription for diabetes) and she’s clear that, so long as it continues to keep my blood sugar under control, I can stay on MJ permanently. So there’s no hurry to lose the weight within a specific time frame.

I am now pretty reliably a size 18, down from 22-24 and in the new year I am going to try some size 16 jeans.

bridgetreilly · 20/12/2025 14:00

Zebracat · 29/11/2025 13:49

Well I hate feeling left behind with lots still to lose. BUT oo absolutely love hearing all the insights from those on maintenance. Thank you @violetmondays , and, of course, lots of thanks to @wlinewbie0425

I still need to lose another 4 stone to get near a healthy weight. My real goal is just be be officially overweight, tbh.

How tall are you @wlinewbie0425?
I am 9st 2lbs and definitely not as slim as you!
Just shows how our height or in my case lack of it makes a difference!

I’m 5’6.5” so I think a lot taller than you. I carry the weight fairly ok into an overweight bmi as it goes on my bottom half as a pear shape but as I got to over 30 BMI in recent years it really piled on my torso. For me healthy bmi 25 is 11stone 1 lb.

wlinewbie0425 · 21/12/2025 09:08

Just had a thought this morning. I imagine most most of us are planned ahead these post-pendemic days… but if anyone will need a new pen in January and is in a position to order now, I have a feeling there is going to be a spike in demand only second to last August this January as everyone steps on the scales in the new year. Whereas in the past they would have joined slimming world or the local gym, this is going to be the year Mounjaro goes fully mainstream I reckon! Get ahead of any possibly delays!

You look amazing @wlinewbie0425!

Another 0.8lb off for me today and I'm in the 10 stone bracket at last 🎉 Next mini goal for me is to reach a 3 stone loss - 4lbs away from that now.

Stupidly got myself confused with my dosing schedule and thought I had more left than I did, so I've now run out and ordered from another new supplier but possibly won't get delivery in time for my next jab, then who knows with Christmas post. I'm not stressing about it, I'll still have some in my system over Christmas and it'll be a good test of my self control.

wlinewbie0425 · 21/12/2025 11:25

Congrats on the new stone bracket @PumpKimwhat a great goal to hit right in time for Christmas 🎉. Good that you’ve ordered now and should get it ahead of the rush after Christmas and like to say even if it’s a few days late you have Mj in your system it’s not like ot suddenly plummets to zero. I will have a bigger gap as away when a jab is due over new year but decided against taking pen with me as due to start a brand new one. I’ll get back into a proper routine with that in January.

I’m thinking of my new year resolutions and it’s very much focused on building up healthy calories and exercise now. So wonderful not to have losing weight as one for 2026!

I've been listening to Utra Processed People by Dr Chris Van Tulleken.
Almost half way through. It's science jargon loses me at times but the parts I understand are fascinating. It finds that a day of rest can burn as many calories as going out for a long walk. When you exercise your body stops other processes so when you rest your body heals which burns calories. If you work in a physical job you burn much the same calories as someone sitting at their desk. Because the desk job is stressful and burns calories that way. Conclusion exercise calories don't count towards weightloss.
When I lost weight in the past the lowest I got was almost 2 stone heavier than I am today. I was eating 1200-1500 calories and burning 3000 calories at the gym, this new evidence just confirms what I thought but it was only my lived experience.
It's an interesting read/listen.
I am definitely going to be looking at eating far more pure foods and limit upf (ultra processed) to treats.l

PeachSnail · 22/12/2025 07:55

Morning everyone! ❄️🎄🦌☃️🎁

All the Christmas feels happening here! Me and my other half had a big night out on Saturday night, so we spent yesterday huddled up the kids watching Christmas movies. Unfortunately it also meant that I was mopping up my hangover with carbs all day and I put on 0.7kg this week!

SW 87.65kg
CW 69.8kg
GW 65kg

Oh dear... Well, these things happen. In my experience, the gain will disappear fairly quickly once the carbs have passed through my system. I'm going to give myself a bit of a break over Christmas as I want to enjoy it (while not going TOO crazy).

We'll be packing to go and stay in my partner's family's home town for 4 nights from tomorrow. There will be lots of eating and merry making and I definitely won't be able to control much about what I eat... Just hoping I can keep some kind of control over the quantity I eat 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Merlin23 thanks for sharing what you've learnt from reading Ultra Processed People... That's really interesting. Probably a good read for new year to get us all back on the straight and narrow in terms of food choices. 🤔📖

@wlinewbie0425 you look fab! It's amazing how much healthier you look now! Well done for reaching the 9s - amazing achievement 🏆😍

@bridgetreilly well done for reaching a 3 1/2 stone loss! So amazing! I still haven't quite reached a 3 stone loss yet... So that's really great work 💪🏻

@Zebracat well done on the 200g micro loss...That's really useful to think of it in terms of a pack of butter! Definitely still worth getting rid of!

@Coventreeif I've got this right, it's your 50th birthday today? If so, very happy birthday to you! Really hope you can enjoy swanning around wearing something suitably fabulous! 🎂🎈👸🏻🥳

And well done to everyone else for your fabulous losses @PumpKim @slightlysmallerPoisonIvy @AbundanceofKatherines@dozywelshbird@Crunchymum

And for everyone else who has either gained or stalled, like me... Keep going. We'll get back on track! 😊🤗🫶🏻
