Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Hello all,

Friday weigh-in and its another -1lb for me. I'm about 12lbs from GW now but expect it to take me another 3 months to get there.

Anyone else have no plans to completely stop when they reach GW? I will hopefully tritate down to a smaller dose but sadly don't feel confident in my ability to not gain weight.

I've noticed a real turn in my mood lately? I don't think it's actually MJ related (although I know anecdotally it can affect mood). Probably a combination of peri and S.A.D. I was prescribed high dose Vit D last winter as I was deficient so I may see if I can get tested again?

Feeling just a bit "meh" but at least I'm feeling it at 48.5lbs lighter than I was!!!

I spoke to my husband the other day about how I'm very confused as to if or when to stop. Christmas is my goal to see what weight I am on 1st Jan. Then my plan was too start lowering dose to come off. But the nearer it gets the more anxious I become, about not being on mj and being on my own. My doctors won't talk about it as I've paid for it and I guess the private companies will want me to stay on it. But the new prices are too high for that.
I think realistically we are going out to the USA for my sons graduation next May. It would be good to be off by then. Then jump back in if needed within a few months. Hopefully the price will come down.
I've joined a maintenance group on mumsnet to see how other people are coping.

Coffeeandallthebooks · 07/11/2025 14:36

Lovely to hear from some infrequent posters and I'm so pleased to hear you're getting on well.

I have put on 1lb this week, despite me being on what I have dubbed 'doggie boot camp'

DH is away this week, leaving me to walk our bouncy 32kg beagle foxhound cross by myself. She's very thorough; 1.5-2 hours of walks a day(step count). Mad running through the grass every so often so I have to run too or trip (interval training). Greeting all her dog friends by bungeeing me around on a lead with a heavy weight attached as she runs round and wrestles (resistance training).

I am a little disappointed to gain after such efforts, on her part and mine, but I did have Chinese takeaway with the kids. I think some of it is inflammation too from sudden exercise when I'm usually a sloth.

Nearlyhadenough · 07/11/2025 18:27

@Crunchymum @Merlin23 I’m not intending to come off as soon as I get to target (about 9 lbs or so to go). Not really sure what’s it’s going to look like, as I’m only taking 2.5mg. I want to titrate down slowly over a reasonably long period.

Possibly moving over to Pharmulous for maintenance as they allow you to re-order up to a year after your last prescription unless you go below a BMI of 19.

I’m going to have a red of that maintenance thread, thanks.

@Coffeeandallthebooks I have a beagle- though she’s only 17kg - and she’s hard work! But very lovable.

PumpKim · 07/11/2025 19:17

Is anyone still quite far from their goal? It seems like everyone is getting close but I've got loads to go yet and I'll be plodding along in here on my own soon 😂

I went up to 10mg on Wednesday, can def tell the difference in appetite already but I had the most horrendous dicky tummy yesterday 💩😬
Been ok today so hope it was just a blip and not an ongoing issue with the higher dose.

Seahawk80 · 07/11/2025 20:19

Hi everyone and lovely to hear from the lurkers! @PumpKimI still have at least 1 stone and ideally 1.5 to go but we’ll see how it goes. I have started to get loads of people noticing which is amazing and I do feel really different. However had a 3lb gain this week!! I think last weeks 4lb loss was a bit too good to be true plus we went away with my in laws last weekend and while I ate pretty well I drank a lot - only way to get through a weekend with the hopeless PILs and BIL and his girlfriend and their spoilt daughter who terrorises my youngest!

StartingApril2025 · 08/11/2025 09:59

Hi everyone , weight day for me and half a pound on!! My first gain in 6months. Did have a take away last night so maybe inflammation from all the salt! This month I’ve only lost 2lbs and feel like 5mg has lost its effect but still reluctant to go up as I only have another 9 lbs to go and wanted to avoid going up but maybe need to. Need to order my next pen today so need to decide! Great to hear everyone’s progress and all the successes xx Hope everyone has a good weekend !

Hawkmoth · 08/11/2025 10:22

@PumpKim I probably have about 5 stone to go, so about halfway.

BeachBodyAim · 08/11/2025 10:34

SW 17.7
CW 13.8
Week 28 loss 1lb
Total loss 3st 13lb

lost 1lb this week - happy with that!! The 4st loss is within touching distance!!!!
I have a stone I’d still like too lose to get to a happy weight but honestly I feel bloody fantastic now compared to 6 months ago!!!!
A small NSV yesterday- carrying my shopping bags from the car up the (maybe 10) steps to the house, my knees used to really hurt and almost feel like they’d snap. Id have to go up each step with both feet (hope that makes sense!!) but yesterday I shot up them with my bags, no pain in my knees and just one foot on each step!!!! Literally I’m a new woman!!!! 😝
Well done everyone and have a fab week!!!!

wlinewbie0425 · 08/11/2025 11:15

Lovely to hear how well everyone is doing and a big hello to all those who’ve popped back from earlier in the year to update 👋🏻

I wasn’t able to do my usual weds weigh in for first time this week as had to be away, but was shocked on Thursday that my scales jumped down past the target weight I set on them in January (10.5 stone) and did a celebration thing on the app I’ve never seen before! I’m back up slightly on that today, but weird to realise I really could be done now and it’s all about the maintenance.

I’ve decided to have a wardrobe clear out today and remove all the shapeless baggy stuff I’ve been clinging onto. I’ve treated myself to duplicate pairs in assorted colours of the size 12 jeans I bought a few weeks ago as now confident in the fit and also a short style jumper I tried on a whim and love. The old me only bought long length ones to cover my tummy and bum. I can’t believe I’m now someone who tucks tops in! I actually never was even when previously slimmer - I think it’s the change in diet, I always had a bit of a carb bloat in the past. Thankfully I don’t have expensive taste. it’s all from new look with 25% off on top. Worth knowing if you put stuff in your online basket then don’t buy it straight away they email you a 25% off code to encourage you to check out. Wish that happened with Mounjaro 😂

wishing you all a good weekend as we all start to look forward to our first Mounjaro Christmas.

86.7 this morning, so a gain of almost a kilo. I don’t think it’s real though, just some weird body blip from a saltier than usual meal and some beer. I’m still trying to buy my next pen, won’t bore on with the saga. @PumpKim I am about halfway to a normal bmi, so you won’t be alone. You may already be there, but if not I would recommend the 5 stone to lose thread, it rolls on so we get new joiners all the time, and, like this thread, it’s very supportive and funny.

Coventree · 09/11/2025 18:54

Well done to the losses, bypassing of goals, and bounding up the stairs NSVs! One NSV I realised this week is in car parks and that I don’t have to painfully squeeze my bum and belly between car and door to get out of a tight spot quite as much any more 😂. Hope anyone’s gains are temporary and don’t derail the amazing efforts on our fantastical journeys x

I went up to 10mg recently @PumpKim and have really felt the benefit. I’ve still got over 1st to get to goal and now I’m wondering if goal should be under what I’d set it at as it’s only 5lb under the top of my healthy bmi weight. Maybe another 7lb would give me more wiggle room, but it will likely mean at least one more pen purchase 😬. Feel I don’t want to cut myself short though and I’m lucky in the sense that I can add more credit card debt and pay it off over the next year or so. Still feel awful for the people priced out of this solution 🙁.

PeachSnail · 10/11/2025 07:14

Morning all 🌄

SW 87.65kg
CW 71.85kg
GW 65kg

So that's a 0.8kg gain this week... Oops. Did kind of expect it, if I'm honest, but it's still disappointing! I've still got this lingering cold and I'm only very tentatively doing exercise (mostly Pilates for my hip) so I'm still not really feeling match fit.

But I do think these blips help us to check ourselves and not take this weight loss for granted. I'll need to knuckle down and try and stick to good habits this week.

It's also making me nervous about what Xmas will be like as it's so easy just to casually munch much more than usual... Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it!

Thanks for sharing all your updates everyone! Great keeping up with how everyone is doing - especially the old school posters who have come back to say hi at the 6 month mark @Sheldon4k @Pinkapron @ymemanresu

Well done everyone 🙌🎉🏆❤️

Merlin23 · 10/11/2025 09:05

Weigh in today as we were away last week!
1lb off
Not bad after 5 days in Venice and 2 days away in the UK.
Service station food is not good for losing weight. Trying to buy a sandwich or a salad and they all start at over 450 calories unless you don't want taste. On Friday I ended up buying a loaf of bread and a packet of cooked meat and made a basic sandwich for Friday and Saturday. While my husband went to KFC.
SW 202lbs 14 st 6 lbs
CW 138lbs 9 st 12 lbs

Total loss 64lbs 4st 8lbs

When i started i hoped to lose 50lbs I never thought I could lose this much. 3 lbs until a healthy weight.
Have a great week everyone!

StartingApril2025 · 10/11/2025 12:22

@PeachSnail yes completely agree, the lack off weight loss over the last month for me really isn’t a surprise as chocolate has crept back in, less drinking water, less movement so this shouldn’t be a surprise but you are right this should be a time to actually check in and nip it in the bud!
given the last few weeks and the amount of chocolate and wee treats have crept in I am now worried about Christmas too!!
need to give Meself a wobble!!

StartingApril2025 · 10/11/2025 12:25

@Merlin23 that’s fabulous well done!!

wendywoopywoo222 · 11/11/2025 21:45

I’m stuck on 17 2. Been here two weeks. I don’t mind sticking as I know I’m doing really well and it’s just a stall but it drives me crazy when I’m stuck so close to the next stone down.

Coventree · 12/11/2025 07:16

Hope you’re feeling a bit better @PeachSnail. Yeah, Christmas is going to be a test for us all @StartingApril2025!

Great news @Merlin23 👏. Those 3lbs will soon be gone and a healthy weight is yours for the taking…you’re doing brilliantly!

Ah, frustrating @wendywoopywoo222. Is it worth thinking of increasing? I know there’s a cost implication now to factor in 😬, but going up a dose has worked wonders for me. But hopefully you’ll be in that next stone before you know it 🤞

Coventree · 12/11/2025 07:23

Wednesday weigh-in for me…an amazing 3lb lost 😮, making an incredible 7lb lost in two weeks, which is bonkers. Can only put it down to going up to 10mg but can’t really see much of a difference in what I’m eating or drinking…it’s just working better!

60lbs lost in total now and teetering on the edge of the 10 stones.

dozywelshbird · 12/11/2025 13:51

PumpKim · 07/11/2025 19:17

Been ok today so hope it was just a blip and not an ongoing issue with the higher dose.

don't worry, I'm a fellow plodder 🙄so will still be here with you

another lb down today taking me to a total loss of 2 and a half stone (35lb)

I am happy to have lost this since end of April but I wouldn't lie and say I don't feel jealous when I read others have lost nearly double that in the same time (I know, comparison is the thief of joy!) but obviously I am happy for those who have lost quicker 😃

my BMI is currently 27.3, so still overweight and my healthy range apparently is between 8st 3lb and 11st - which I think is ridiculous... I must have last weighed 8 stone something 40 years ago when I was 12 years old FFS. I am going to reassess when I get to 11 and a half stone in terms of how I feel and whether I can still afford to carry on

I am noticing a bit more hunger creeping in but given price hikes I am defiantly sticking to 7.5mg for the next few weeks.

Hope everyone is having a good week 😀

BudgieMom · 12/11/2025 14:33

Week 28 weigh in and its 2lbs off! Moved up to 6.25mg the last 2 weeks which is giving good results. Hope everyone had a good week and well done for all the losses and nsvs 😊

StartingApril2025 · 12/11/2025 16:58

@Coventree oh flip that’s an amazing loss !! Youre making me second guess my theory of staying on 5mg despite the slow/no loss, just ordered a pen though so not sure if I can change.
i feel like despite no loss my size has gone down a bit , some jeans are getting baggy again. I didn’t take one measurement or picture of the before which I’m slightly regretting now. My gp does have my waist measurements I think.
@dozywelshbird you’re doing fab, I’m with you thinking aiming for bmi is not always accurate or sensible , I would look dead if I was halfway into a healthy bmi!

@BudgieMom 2lbs is great well done, I may try 6.25mg from my 5mg pen to try and see if can promote some loss this month!!

dozywelshbird · 12/11/2025 17:26

Nice NSV of saggy jeans @StartingApril2025 😁 I'm sure you'll get a whoosh soon 🤞

Fantastic losses @BudgieMom and @Coventree plus all the others I can't recall

Coventree · 12/11/2025 18:57

@StartingApril2025 I’m taking 10mg from my 7.5mg pen initially just to make sure I got through an all-inclusive holiday (treat for a special birthday upcoming in Dec!) in the half term, but it’s worked so well I’ve kept going! I know there’s a cost implication but I’ve also come so far that I don’t want to compromise the good work by not wringing the most that I can get out of this (and completely appreciate how fortunate I am that I can put one more pen on the credit card and pay it off).

Coffeeandallthebooks · 13/11/2025 14:39

A pound off for me this week. I'm happy with that as my weight loss is slowing down.
I am wondering if I should do what you did @Coventree as I'm just about to start a 7.
5mg pen but feel I could do with a 10mg dose. I've still got a way to go, 18lbs to a healthy weight and 28 ideally to get to a comfortable bmi.
