Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Thanks for the answers. I’m not even sure I did eke it out . It may just be that I finished the one dispensed later, first. I don’t really know what happened, but honestly the original suppliers have 2 websites in addition to the dispensing pharmacy ,so whenever I tried to sort something out, I’d go from pillar to post. I’ve been provisionally accepted by GetaDrip now, after taking 4 hours to complete their oh so simple application. If they have any questions I’ll try to explain. I got so desperate I was looking for somewhere local rather than online, but only found a slightly dodge aesthetics clinic.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 01/11/2025 19:00

@Zebracat I've used weprescribe and chemist4u and both were quick and very easy to use. I used simple online pharmacy once too and they were ok too but the photo uploading thing they use was a bit tricky and I had to try on a couple of different devices to make it work.
Edit to add please stay away from any dodgy clinics!!

Merlin23 · 01/11/2025 20:29

Has anyone else heard or stuck to the 30 day mj rule?
I don't understand how a medication that is enclosed would not be usable after 30 days of the first dose. I've been using my pen now for 6 weeks and the medication still works.
Is this just manufacturers trying to make more money by putting us off doing lower dones.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 01/11/2025 23:32

Today is officially my 6 month anniversary on mounjaro so I did my monthly progress pics and measurements. Feeling a little bit pleased with myself tbh

I still have a long way to go but in total since I started on May 1st I have lost 19cm from my waist, 16.8cm from my hips, 15.1cm from my boobs, 14.3cm from my shoulders, and I seem to have misplaced my whole ass, if anyone finds it it's finders keepers I do not want it back please. The losses from my limbs are much smaller thanks to the evil lipoedema but I have lost a few cms from them too.

Wow, you lot, amazing weight loss stories.

I was there at the beginning but I opted out around June. I wasn't getting great results but I lost 1 stone, which for me was good. Just before the price rise, I opted to join a gym, to maintain the weigh loss. I am happy to say that I have indeed maintained it.

I still have a (7.5) pen in the fridge and I might just use it before xmas but knowing that I had such bad side affect, puts me off. Still tempted though.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 02/11/2025 00:51

Hi @TheSilentSister nice to "see" you again, well done on keeping that stone off! Losing weight is only half the battle, keeping it off is damn hard too.

I often wonder about the people we've lost along the way and how they are getting on. If anyone else is still out there reading the thread it'd be lovely to hear from you and get a 6month update, I hope you are all doing well x

TheSilentSister · 02/11/2025 01:10

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy - thank you. Yes it's hard but doable. I certainly don't think it's a cheats way to lose weight. There's so much negativity and no one in RL talks about it.
I was seriously thinking about going abroad for weight loss surgery at one point. So so glad I found out about MJ. As I'm sure many many people have found.
Am so pleased to find that with a little bit of effort, you can keep the weight off. Win win. x

AdotHam · 02/11/2025 09:00

Hi everybody!
You are all completely amazing. I was here at the start too and have been quietly following along, but life stresses have just kept me a bit less vocal.

I have just reached a 60 lb loss which puts me at a weight of 159lb and a BMI of 25.3 (so close!) but really hoping to get down to 140lb if I can (I'm just under 5 foot 6).
Main side effects are thinner hair and a bit of a generally low mood but hoping that with the good diet and biotin the hair will improve in time and the mood is honestly something I've struggled with most of my adult life.
I'm about to go up to 10mg despite the bonkers cost since hunger seems to be back with a vengeance these last couple of weeks.
Thank you all for the amazing updates and encouragement, you have no idea how much it has helped following along.
Happy Sunday everyone! xx

PumpKim · 02/11/2025 09:18

Lovely to hear from @TheSilentSister and @AdotHam.

Official weigh day and it's 0.1lb on. Tiny I know, so I'll call it 'stayed the same'. It's been a weird week of fluctuations, I'm a daily weigher and take my weekly average, at one point this week I thought I was heading towards a 3lb gain! I can't figure out why I would have had the 'heavy' days, but being a daily weigher keeps me sane enough to understand it's impossible for it to be 3lb of fat.

I've ordered a 10mg pen from Bolt, £213 with new customer discount 😱 it was the cheapest I could get as I've already been a customer of some of the slightly cheaper pharmacies. I'll be bouncing around every time I order now I think as the standard price is crazy!

Got two weeks left of my 7.5mg, 3 if I extract the bonus dose, but I'm thinking of extracting 10mg for the next two weeks and increasing now ( disclaimer: my personal choice, not recommended).

Fingers crossed my downward trend makes a comeback this week 🤞

Hi @AdotHam Well done 60lbs is amazing and you're so close to being in the healthy bmi range!!! I've lost so much hair too, I even bought a tiktok wig just in case I wake up bald one day. I keep telling myself it's just hair it'll grow back eventually but it doesn't feel good. Good luck with 10mg, hope it helps x

Thank you so much @slightlysmallerPoisonIvy and good to hear I'm not alone with the hair fears, although of course so sorry you have it too and yes I have to believe it will recover and all be worth it 🙏.
Hope that everyone has a really good week, half term is over here so hopefully a bit more structure to my days fingers crossed! 😘

Merlin23 · 02/11/2025 22:52

I've made the decision to jab late. I haven't missed anything jab in 27 weeks. We are flying to Venice tomorrow, not home until Saturday late. So I'll jab when I get home on Saturday instead of Thurday. Just didnt want the faff of keeping the pen cold.
NSV bought a belt for my jeans it was a small!
Also had a sneaky weigh in this morning and I'm now just under 10 stone for the first time in my adult life.
Have a great week everyone!

PeachSnail · 03/11/2025 10:27

SW 87.65kg
CW 71.1kg
GW 65kg

I lost 1.1kg this week, which is more than usual for me... But I think it may be a bit of muscle as I've stopped exercising due to illness & hip pain. Anyway, that's just 6kg until I reach goal now... Feels like it's within touching distance!

Thanks for doing the total 6 month weight loss @wlinewbie0425... The thing that stuck in mind was the grand piano! I could imagine one falling out of a high rise window and the weight of it crashing to the ground, like in a cartoon! 😂

Well done on the losses everyone 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

And nice to hear from @TheSilentSister and @AdotHam
Glad you guys are still out there plugging on! 😊

ymemanresu · 03/11/2025 10:35

Hi everyone, congratulations on your losses and NSVs, i haven’t looked on here for a while so will read back. I only had 2 half stone to lose and i’ve kept this off with 2.5 weekly. I did try to cut down to 1.25 for a while but appetite and food noise definitely came back 🤦‍♀️ .

No more side effects except noticed my hair thinning last month 😢thought i’d escaped this as i lost slowly and been taking supplements. Just started Biotin now, i knew it was a potential side effect but it’s been quite upsetting as i’ve always had good long hair. The loss isn’t severe but it’s enough to be alarming.

Has everyone here also had this? Will it stop eventually? I’m looking at real hair clips but i have no experience of this kind of thing as I’ve always been quite low maintenance with my hair 😞

Hawkmoth · 03/11/2025 12:45

My hair loss is starting to tail off a bit now, but I can notice it. I'm going to get layers at the front and I think that will be enough to distract from it.

I reckon there were 2 months of it coming out alarmingly and just being everywhere. It does look a bit sad and flat now.

Pinkapron · 04/11/2025 06:39

Hi everyone and congratulations! 🎉🏆
You're all amazing! Thank you for keeping us long term lurkers going too! I’ve been in since the beginning, but haven’t contributed for a long time. I love reading about how everyone is getting on, and feel I know you all 😊
I'm a slow, steady one, 2 1/2 stone in just over 6 months, 33lbs at exactly 6 months.
Not quite decided on my end goal, mainly due to loose, saggy skin around my upper arms and thighs. Probably due to being 58 and doing no strength training/real exercise!
I’ve hardly told anyone I’m on it, and have actually denied it. Only a couple of people suggested it gently ie. “You’re not on those injections are you?” I just shook my head! 😂
I don’t want to hear anyone’s judgements or opinions on it! I love it though, this has been my easiest weight loss journey ever, and I’ve had a fair few! I’ve been very fortunate with no side-effects that I’ve noticed.
I’m still on 5 mg, and have a couple of spare pens in the fridge, so that I can titrate down.
Well, this has ended up being quite the essay after months of lurking! I’m very grateful to you all, and feel very fortunate to have you all on the edge of my life on this exciting journey 😊😘

GoGoGovy · 04/11/2025 07:49

Hello.

I admit, I did slope off for a bit. I got so close to my target that I decided to titrate down and lose the final few pounds on my own. Long story short, it didn’t work! Appetite came back and I started gaining. I’m now back on a larger dose but still not losing - lose a pound, gain a pound sort of thing.
6 month anniversary was yesterday and I have lost a grand total of 30lbs. Nowhere near as much as you mounjaro girls, but enough to get me into a healthy bmi and size 12 (just) clothes, so overall I’m very pleased.

Ive decided to stay on this dose until Christmas and then titrate down slowly and then stop. I think keeping my weight down will be a life long struggle, but at least I’m at a good starting point now.

…and finally, a huge well done to all of you. I can’t believe how much you have lost. Truly amazing!

Coventree · 05/11/2025 07:29

Well done for all the fab losses and NSVs everyone 👏👏👏. Hair loss is still an issue here too but hoping it’s just a temporary measure.

Wednesday weigh in for me…and an incredible 4lbs off since returning from holiday 🎉. I can only put it down to the 10mg which is working great, but I don’t feel I’m eating any differently to justify the loss. I was pretty static for most of October so maybe it’s a bit of a catch up whoosh? Whatever it is, I’ll gladly take it though!

SW 15st 4lbs
CW 11st 3lbs
TW 10st

Merlin23 · 05/11/2025 08:12

Well done @Coventree amazing losses.
I had that 2 weeks ago did everything the same but lost 3lbs after nothing for 2 weeks.
We're having a great time in Venice. We decided to eat mainly at takeaway pasta and pizza fresh ingredients restaurants. Much cheaper especially as I cant eat full portions. Eating in a restaurant would be upwards of €50 for the 2 of us last night we spent €20 on delicious pasta served in cardboard boxes, which i ddidn’t finish.
We walked just under 10 miles yesterday.
My husband cant believe how little I eat, I think being together all day he has properly seen how little I eat.
He was more shocked when he got on the scales (same weight as always - 27 years) and I declared that I'm now 10lbs lighter than him. 😂
Have a great week everyone!

Coventree · 05/11/2025 08:26

Thanks and have a fab holiday @Merlin23…it sounds lovely!

PeachSnail · 05/11/2025 11:48

Just listened to a really good podcast on GLP1s with the brilliant Professor Giles Yeo... Think it's the most reasoned and well-balanced discussion I've heard so far. Thank goodness he is out there creating a more enlightened narrative so we can attempt to move beyond all the sensationalist pearl-clutching!

I'd recommend giving it a listen, if you're interested. Giles has a really great way of explaining things in simple terms and he makes an interesting point about how the cultural obsession with 'skinny aesthetics' blocks more responsible narratives around health 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hi everyone. I have also been quiet for a while. Thought I would pop back to see how everyone is doing (i havent had time to read all 649 updates as yet) and maybe a bit of a last 8 week drive before my final pen is done. Weight loss has stalled but dealing with a painful frozen shoulder, meaning no gym and a few weeks off the jab whilst I had the steroid injection (was recommended for me), along with maybe being not far away from my 'expected final end weight' im sure are all playing a part in this.
I see a few people have already stopped the jab and are doing well... thats great news and inspiration for those of us who will be doing the same soon and its nice to see that people are still on track for their goals. Going to go and have a read through all of those messages now x

AbundanceofKatherines · 07/11/2025 08:55

Hello everyone. Lovely to hear from some “older” team members 💕

Friday weigh in and it’s a 0.2lb gain for me this week. I’ve had a fairly sociable week and maybe taken my eye off the ball a little. Officially 6lb to goal but I’m very happy as I am so not concerned.

Have lovely weekends all.

Crunchymum · 07/11/2025 11:35

Hello all,

Friday weigh-in and its another -1lb for me. I'm about 12lbs from GW now but expect it to take me another 3 months to get there.

Anyone else have no plans to completely stop when they reach GW? I will hopefully tritate down to a smaller dose but sadly don't feel confident in my ability to not gain weight.

I've noticed a real turn in my mood lately? I don't think it's actually MJ related (although I know anecdotally it can affect mood). Probably a combination of peri and S.A.D. I was prescribed high dose Vit D last winter as I was deficient so I may see if I can get tested again?

Feeling just a bit "meh" but at least I'm feeling it at 48.5lbs lighter than I was!!!
