Lots of very useful discussions going on on the old thread, so I thought I would continue it!

I don't. I reorder at 2.5 weeks into my prescription as per my suppliers advice, which is plenty of time to receive an order if selfish people don't stockpile medication. As I said I'm leaving this thread as people's attitude generally of 'me first' isn't exactly helpful advice.

Totally agree. Disgusting behaviour. I could stock up but I don't think it is ok to behave like that.

JustPinkFinch · 15/08/2025 15:16

One thing I have thought about MJ in the UK since I started (only in June) is that many pharmacies were in a race to the bottom. Markups eroded with discount codes and everyone bargain hunting. Pharmacies were making their money from volume, and that may well continue, but it's a stressful way to run a business. If they could all reach some sort of equilibrium price-wise, and focus on shit-hot service including reliable cold chain delivery, it would be progress in a different direction. But when your business model relies on volume, and you advise people to quickly make a bulk order (as yesterday), that's immediately shady and not something medical professionals should be doing.

There are more dual-acting anti-obesity meds in the pipeline that are likely to be more effective than mounjaro. Hopefully, this would drive up competition and drive down prices.

Good for you. I'm going to save myself hundreds of pounds instead and feel NO GUILT at all.

I’m in the same boat. I ordered my pen on Weds, it was approved but has not been despatched and now I’ve had an email saying there are delays in despatch. I go on holiday on Tuesday so it will end up being wasted and I am worried I won’t be able to get another due to shortages.

I’m just at the start of my Mounjaro journey and its only my second pen. I know people want to stockpile but its having an impact on those of us who are just ordering normally. I was feeling so positive about this but now feel very fed up.

I ordered from Med Express earlier, unapproved as yet… they had supply issues a few weeks ago so have all Xd.

This, more than anything makes you look like a dick. Recognising that you’re in a place of privilege to be able to stock up and also recognise that this does cause a short term stock issue.

I get why people are doing it, I’m lucky I can afford the potential new prices for the remainder of my MJ so I’m not ordering more than one pen now. But there’s just no need to be like this. Everyone is stressed and worried.

I ordered yesterday afternoon with MedExpress - they have said up to 7 working days for approval, then up to 1-3 working days for delivery.

Hopefully a lot quicker than that. They usually approve almost instantly. 😖

i think this is the first time the list prices have become available though. I didn’t realise what a huge profit these pharmacies were working at.

I think I can get over being a bit of a dick when you have posters saying stockpiling is Disgusting behaviour and calling people Vile over it.

Yet more then one pharmacy actively encouraged people to buy multiple.

LifeOfAShowGirl · 15/08/2025 15:30

I’ve just been called a twat for stocking up, so.

I do recognise that I’m lucky to have been able to do so, and I am so so grateful that it looks like I’ll be able to continue my journey on Mounjaro. I am so lucky to be young and living at home, with parents who see it the same way I do - an investment in my future. But I don’t think that warrants me being called all these names.

I've yet to see one single person being unable to obtain their prescription. Especially not from sites that are offering 3 at a time.

I ordered one pen yesterday from Oushk before all the “order 3” hype and have had confirmation today that the order has been processed. Their website does now say out of stock (for the 15mg at least anyway).

MynameisJune · 15/08/2025 15:33

No the name calling is not on but report the post don’t then post more goady shit to rile other posters up.

MynameisJune · 15/08/2025 15:34

I’ve had an email from Pharmacy2u saying that a decision on my clinical review may take up to 5 days due to the massive demand they’ve had.

No pharmacy is encouraging people to go and order from multiple places though.

Wistfullysleepy · 15/08/2025 15:35

Oushk have always been somewhat shady. In May they were reprimanded for not meeting appropriate prescribing conditions and their storage was highlighted as not being up to scratch. Literally, their fridge was too warm. I believe their CEO did another emotional live then claiming the fridge was open as a delivery was happening just as the inspectors arrived…..uhuh. That wouldn’t stop them providing the inspectors with their previous readings, which they should have monitored and detailed. Which they also didn’t have. In fact it said their staff didn’t know how to monitor!

they also raised an issue with them prescribing ‘large volumes’ of medicine at once. Something encouraged yesterday

So hopefully they sorted their fridge issues or some of those stockpiling will be in for a shock when the pens stop working. Happened to me with another provider when I got a few at a time - they’d obviously started degrading when in their facility.

So? The pharmacy I order from didn't allow more then one so I ordered from multiple pharmacies.

You still had pharmacies encouraging you to stock up. That's just what I did, same result.

Catladyof7 · 15/08/2025 15:39

I personally think its wrong they have put the prices up today , greed at its best 🤬
Medino has gone up over £100 since last night for 12.5mg .

Told them to keep it .
No warning , no nothing.
Even Voy said they will honour the prices till September 14 th.

The others are just greedy ***

ymemanresu · 15/08/2025 15:40

Can anybody tell me how you can switch supplier when you have evidence of a previous prescription but are now at a healthy bmi.

There doesn’t seem to be a maintenance option. Obviously when you put your new weight in, you aren’t eligible so how do you do it? E mail direct?

My delight? It’s a warning as it happened to me.

What is wrong with some of the aggressive posters on this thread? Just try and be a little nicer to people!

Normally it asked if you have previously been on any weight loss medication, I always answer yes but it will depend how long ago you bought your last pen etc

MisseyLurker · 15/08/2025 15:44

I noticed earlier that Medicine Marketplace already has the prices from 1st September showing. Their prices are

2.5mg - £137
5.0mg - £178
7.5mg - £215
10mg - £239
12.5mg - £ 251
15mg - £271

Given they are usually between £109 and £145, it will be interesting to see what prices other providers come out with.
