Lots of very useful discussions going on on the old thread, so I thought I would continue it!

I noticed earlier that Medicine Marketplace already has the prices from 1st September showing. Their prices are

2.5mg - £137
5.0mg - £178
7.5mg - £215
10mg - £239
12.5mg - £ 251
15mg - £271

Given they are usually between £109 and £145, it will be interesting to see what prices other providers come out with.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by these prices I can’t lie. It is remaining an option for me to swap to them and then back to Oushk as I near maintenance

I don't think they should be allowed to put prices up so dramatically, it's appalling when so many have found it so effective and are now depending on it. Prices should be coming down, it's sheer greed. I ordered another 15mg earlier than usual after a reminder email but who knows whether it will come through. Grrr. So annoyed, and I don't have much to lose now.

Wibbs · 15/08/2025 14:57

I only started in July, but already know I will be taking this for a long time. I ordered a 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg pack from my provider, but it hasn’t been approved yet so fingers crossed. I see no need to increase from 2.5mg dose at present, but realise it will be difficult to predict going forward.

My husband is seeing his diabetic nurse on Monday and he will ask if Mounjaro would be good for him - I am convinced he will do well with it as he has more food noise than I do. He won’t qualify for it on the NHS as although his HBAC1 levels and his BMI is high he doesn’t have enough other conditions. Hopefully he will be able to order a 3 pen start up pack (2.5mg, 5mg and 7.5mg) before the price hike as well. This would be enough to be getting on with though.

Longer-term, this price increase will make me a bit less risk averse and I may well end up sharing a high dose pen with him by using it as a vial with sterilised insulin syringes. It would certainly make it more affordable and possibly safer than using higher dose pens over a longer period of time. I found using the syringe for the 5th dose really easy.

I thought just having diabetes was enough to be eligible isn't it?

I personally think its wrong they have put the prices up today , greed at its best 🤬
Medino has gone up over £100 since last night for 12.5mg .

Told them to keep it .
No warning , no nothing.
Even Voy said they will honour the prices till September 14 th.

The others are just greedy ***

Daylight robbery!

bugalugs45 · 15/08/2025 15:57

Just throwing BOOTS into the mix, they’re quite expensive which is why I’ve avoided them until now , but offering 25% off for new customers so brings it to a similar price as the others
code is NEW25 but is on their website

Those figures don't look too bad. I'll actually be able to afford a maintenance dose after all, at that level, if I need to.

LifeOfAShowGirl · 15/08/2025 15:58

Looks like Oushk are starting to get orders out - orders are already ready for collection.

I really can’t imagine how all of these pharmacies must be doing right now. I have seen rumours of up to £80 off the highest prices as discounts, so it depends what their markup on that will be.

I guess now the initial panic is wearing off, it’s starting to look a bit better.

Yes, and I was quite lucky because I'm only about 6 pounds away from a healthy weight (although ideally I'd like to lose another stone), and I had just ordered my next pen a couple of days ago before the news broke (delivered today), so I have a six-week supply to fall back on.

I feel terrible for anyone who's going to struggle to get their next dose for whatever reason.

Over on Reddit it seems like utter chaos.

I’ve accepted that I won’t be hearing from Oushk about my orders this side of the weekend. It seems like they’re just going by the stock they have.

I couldn’t order a 10 on Ousk this morning but could order a 7.5mg

i can’t even login now 😥

MisseyLurker · 15/08/2025 16:11

I had been swithering about going up to 7.5mg but the 5mg is still quite potent. I’ve got a 7.5mg in the fridge which I’ve had since March, luckily it’s good until February. But I’ve only got 10lbs to go until I’m at my target and so I’ll be tapering down soon.

One thing that does strike me is the number of people who say they had planned to be on this for life, yet it’s supposedly only to be used for 2 years for weight loss at least. I’m not sure how people expected to be able to keep on this journey with medical intervention indefinitely because a few providers don’t even do maintenance after a certain BMI.

TorturedParentsDepartment · 15/08/2025 16:12

I've ordered one extra pen just because it became clear the second the "buy three" nonsense started that the stockpiling was going to lead to supply issues.

Buying masses from multiple pharmacies and bragging about saving money is a dick move though.

WeAllHaveWings · 15/08/2025 16:16

@MisseyLurker there is no restrictions from Eli Lilly or any of the regulators restricting how long the medication can be used for. I think there used to be a limit for Wegovy, but also think that has been removed too.

I just went to check their pricing and the website crashed. I wonder when the first of the big pharmacies will announce their price increases

I was chatting to you all yesterday when all this was going on, on the previous thread. I had time to stock up. I have not done so, because I am not a twat.

I realise you are personally very triggered by the calling out of your behaviour, but you have behaved unethically. Your choice, but take the calling out with good grace rather than trying to suggest we'd all do it.

This is medication that people need, and some of us consider a fair supply to all more important than saving £££.

I’m sorry, but you do not walk in other people’s shoes. For some people the barrier to getting Mounjaro will absolutely be the few hundred pounds saved and for others it will be about a temporary lack of stock. Who is to say that the person who orders extra pens to afford it is a twat, rather than the person who has more money but waits until they are running out to order? It is a life changing drug for both.

Neither person is a twat - unless everyone is including me and you.

If you can stockpile pens from one or multiple suppliers, ordering many in one day, money is not an issue. Enough of that nonsense.

TorturedParentsDepartment · 15/08/2025 16:25

As the first person I'm unfortunately related to has started flogging dodgy jabs on FB already today...

I suspect not the last to be seen trying to jump on this.

I put my extra two on a credit card. I’m not arsed one bit. It’s a long interest free one.

Could have used a credit card. Might be able to bulk buy a few pens now at the lower price, but not able to afford hundreds of pounds extra when the prices change. You don't know people's circumstances.

Rubbish. I’m retired. I get my incone 2 x per year. It’s a finite amount, to spend within 6 month, but when I spend it is irrelevant. Again, you do not walk in other people’s shoes, so maybe don’t judge them by your own (obviously narrow) experience.

Sasssquatch · 15/08/2025 16:31

I ordered my usual dose early yesterday from medicine marketplace before this news was hitting the headlines, total coincidence, it’s the time I usually reorder. And I’ve just had notification that my order has been cancelled. No reason or further communication.
