Lots of very useful discussions going on on the old thread, so I thought I would continue it!

I did panic this morning, but Curate have sent out another email explaining how to transition to Wegovy. So that's what I'm going to do. Not going to worry about it now, nothing we can do 🤷‍♀️

We regret to inform you that Mounjaro is currently unavailable due to an unprecedented surge in demand and limited supply from Eli Lilly (the manufacturer). We understand how important this treatment is for many of our patients, and we believe it would be inappropriate to accept payment for orders we cannot guarantee to fulfil.

As a patient focused healthcare provider, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to stop accepting new Mounjaro orders so we can prioritise those we have already received. This ensures that patients who have already placed their orders are supported first.

Our team will be focusing on completing current prescriptions as promptly as possible. Please note we are closed over the weekend, and no further Mounjaro orders will be processed during this time.

We truly appreciate your patience, trust, and understanding while we work through this challenging period. We will provide further communication with updates and guidance

I’ve seen from some people that certain pharmacies have said Eli Lilly are now preventing orders until such time as the price increases have happened?!

I’m just wary of this as it’s possible that these prices could also increase

Yeah me too, Curate were talking like they don't think that will happen. But after being totally blindsided by this, I don't trust anything.

I actually thought Mounjaro was going to come down in price quite dramatically, I was planning on staying on it long term 😔

I think the issue is Trump can be very erratic, so even though he signed this order nobody knew he was going to do this.

Me too. I can’t see Trump won’t apply similar pressure to the Wegovy manufacturers and the US market is so huge they won’t want to lose it

Update from Oushk saying they have over 3000 emails in their inbox and basically to stop messaging them about stock levels and prices. They will honour the 3 pen orders that went through but the new limit is now 2 pens.

Think when my current pen runs out I will switch to Wegovy and see how I get on. I just hope that if you have to start from the beginning on Wegovy (which I suspect you will do with it being a different drug) that the hunger isn't too unbearable.

I know what a healthy diet looks like, my problem is I eat too much because I'm hungry, I can't lose weight on 1,700 which is what I was aiming for (despite all the TDEE calculators telling me that I would lose 1lb per week eating just over 2000 calories for my weight and height) so the challenge for me will be painting a low daily calorie amount without caving into hunger which keeps me awake at night.

I ordered another pen on The Family Chemist this morning. Haven't had a confirmation email, not heard anything. So not hopeful

He’s sent the letter to them. They have a huge amount of sales from Ozempic. Eli Lilly were just the first to announce

has it back fired? They raise the price, they increase the profit, they do better financially, the shareholders do better financially.

or do you mean everyone will go on the alternatives now? I thought this was meant to be the best one.

In Curate's email, they stated that if you are on a higher dose of Mounjaro, they will work with you to start you on a higher dose of Wegovy. So fingers crossed.

Really feel for them to be honest. They’re being the most open and transparent

I mean on the pharmacies. They tried to deal with it the best they could

im so sad for the people this will price out and for the people that are now having to stop before they want to. I guess the lack of warning is partly to do with the fact people would have wanted to buy as much as possible at current prices and stockpile for the next year or so.

Ordered my next pen yesterday from MedExpress (1 x 10mg) and its not been approved yet. Starting to panic as need it by Thursday next week - I also go on holiday on Friday so if it isn't delivered before Thursday it'll be left outside to get warm :(

I've managed to order my next pen from Zava, but will look to moving onto Wegovy at the end of September depending on the price. I can't afford to stock pile pens, so that was never an option anyway.

i think patience is required now to just let pharmacies sort out the hundred and thousands of orders they’ve got. I ordered from Pharmacy2u last night, haven’t had confirmation but all I can do now is wait. Trying to contact them about it will just make their already overloaded systems worse.

It’s scary isn’t it. I ordered my 15mg pen yesterday morning before this even really kicked off. Then suddenly everyone is stockpiling and I decided to just go ahead and stick two on my credit card

The maths isn’t that straightforward because as the price increases, the number of customers inevitably decreases. I assume they have done modelling on that though and maybe fewer customers at higher prices is at least equally profitable for them, while appeasing Trump and keeping the US market share
