Lots of very useful discussions going on on the old thread, so I thought I would continue it!

Yeah I think it’s easy to post pompously about it, but if someone said ‘You can save £300+ if you do this’, I don’t think there are many people who wouldn’t. It’s a lot of money. The people who are understandably upset are those who either can’t afford to pay upfront or who missed the opportunity, but I’m pretty sure all of them would have taken the chance to save hundreds of pounds if they could.

There are limits to how much I care about random other people v spending hundreds more pounds than I need to I’m afraid. I’m not Mother Theresa and I’m not rich.

You bought all the toilet paper and raided the gluten free pasta during COVID didn't you?

Edited

Nope. Didn’t panic shop at all. But this has saved me potentially £500.

Good for you meanwhile others will have no prescription. But as long as you're ok.

ThatsNotMyTeen · 15/08/2025 14:26

My order from cloud has been approved. So that’s me going to have 2 pens. Another 8 weeks supply at least. And if I can, I’ll try and get one more after I get paid

Does Wegovy even have a bonus dose?

Edited

No. I started on Wegovy and it wasn’t even a 1/4 as good as MJ.

It’ll be a false economy for lots of people if it takes them 4 months to lose a stone like it did with me.

I ordered a bundle from chemist 4 u this morning. Only got £10 off but I just wanted to know I have some as I think there’s going to be major supply issues soon.

Because people are bulk buying. Surely you can see that you are part of causing the problem?

I’m afraid I don’t believe for a second that if you had the chance to save £300+ on something you wouldn’t take it. Talk is cheap, but no normal consumer willingly pays hundreds of pounds more than they need to. People are upset because they missed out on the chance to do the same. Understandable. I didn’t want to pay hundreds more than I need to either.

It’s just faux outrage when it’s something that 99% of people would do to save large sums of money.

Wow.

This is exactly what happened during COVID. I don't care a random person may have none or pay extortionate prices, I NEED to stockpile. Whereas if you just bought the usual amount it wouldn't create this panic and shortages. I need to leave this thread I find this attitude so selfish and disgusting.

Exactly. I needed a 15 mg pen. By the time I would’ve ordered it, I’ve realised it would’ve been in the window for the September prices anyway. So that would have been an extra £140. I’ve saved £420. I’m not going to apologise for that.

But Covid was supply chain issues. This is purely money-saving. There will be plenty of this medication available in the weeks to come.

I'm still waiting to be approved by Asda. I submitted my photos on Monday night so today is day 4. Feel like i'm going to be rejected :( if by some miracle, I am accepted, there's probably not going to be anything in stock for me! 🫠

Asda have closed to new customers for 5mg-15mg and will only accept you for 2.5mg if you haven’t used them before. I’m guessing you haven’t as 4 days is pretty normal for them anyway. I guess it might be more delayed due to this situation but if you are only after 2.5mg you should not have any problems.

My supplier has advised no stock of 12.5mg and no date of when will be back in stock, so how do you know this?

12.5 and 15 have had stock issues for a long time before this.

And yes I will be selfish when it comes to my health and my finances I’m afraid. I do feel sorry for those who missed out but my health and financial situation are my priority. I won’t spend £400 more of our family’s money than I need to if I can help it.

I don’t think anyone would when they’re actually in that position, but it’s easy to post on MN about it. Values are all well and good when you’re not actually being tested on them, but I can pretty much guarantee that those so scandalised would grab the opportunity to save £400 with both hands if it actually presented itself 🤷‍♀️

bugalugs45 · 15/08/2025 14:38

I’ve ordered 2 x 12.5 from 2 different suppliers this morning , the family chemist is out of stock ( my normal supplier ) .
Neither has been approved , I’m not waiting for it ( yes I’m the stock piler, shoot me ) , but worrying that neither company has approved 6 hours later 😬 .
Both pens cost me £30 more than I previously paid too !
ordered from IQ doctor & farmacie .

CloudyYellow · 15/08/2025 14:39

Stock availability is my concern. Money not so much as intend to stay on 5mg. Panic buyers will make sure many people will not be able to continue their MJ journey.

Because there have been long-running stock issues with the higher doses that always get rectified. They will restock as always. It’s always good to not leave it till last minute to reorder for this reason.

SwitchingUpWLI · 15/08/2025 14:41

Hi everyone, I think this has blindsided all of us 😢

Just a quick note as am heading out with my DC but wanted to say I tried the following pharmacies this morning and they were all out of stock (or had pulled their existing stock offline to prioritise existing patients perhaps, rather than process new patient requests)

So the following were out of MJ stock or otherwise unable to order (that I had time to check):

Pharmulous
The Private Pharmacy Clinic
Cloud
Medicine Marketplace
The Family Chemist

People are mad about people stocking up because it prevents other people stocking up? Where's even the logic in that?

Southwest12 · 15/08/2025 14:42

sumbum · 15/08/2025 13:52

Thanks! I used yourmedicals and they do bundles of 3! So far they have taken payment, just hope it gets fully approved. They have a £50 discount which is still working too!
Used Pill sorted too and am waiting for OUshk video call thing.

I've just ordered from them too thanks to your post. Just one pen, but with £50 and no postage it was cheaper than I've been paying with referral discounts. Have uploaded all the photos required so fingers crossed!

Time4changeagain · 15/08/2025 14:43

@Clareat2021 Have you tried other suppliers before they sell out too? The more expensive suppliers don’t seem to be having stock issues according to monj.
I’d rather not pay the extortionate prices so I’ve ordered a couple of extra pens from different suppliers and will definitely not feel guilty about doing so.

They are using faux ethical outrage to disguise the fact they are furious they didn’t get the chance to do the same thing really. I understand it tbh, I would be sad if we had to pay hundreds more because we had missed an opportunity. But blame big Pharma/Trump/the way this has been implemented.
