I've lost 21.5 kg since beginning of February with about 10 kg to go to get to my recommended weight. I had estimated giving it nine months till November and I'm roughly on track for that. This news hasn't panicked me as much as I thought it might though.
Six and a half months in, I'm starting to despair about the low level side effects I've been tolerating all that time. Certain extreme ones like feeling freezing cold, diarrhea then constipation have resolved but it's the low level depression, low energy levels, nausea for a few days after each injection and recently since I went up to 10mg, mild headaches that make me want to spend the next few months gradually bringing the dose down and trying to put in place what has worked in the past to prevent weight gain .. 16:8, High protein and veg with max 100g carbs a day, steering clear of UPF foods and using my Fitbit to make sure I stay active enough to register a minimum of 2500 cals used a day.
I know I can do it as I lost 4 stones that way 8 years ago and didn't regain it . Just couldn't lose any more though as food noise/food obsessing became too overwhelming.
Mounjaro has been just the thing I needed to get rid of the food noise and carry on to lose that last 4 to 5 stones. Although I've probably got another stone and a half to go, I don't look overweight now and visceral fat is down from 15 to 9 so I reckon I'm a healthy weight for me aged 68.
What I can't understand/accept with Mounjaro is the contrast with how my energy levels were through the roof on a low carb high protein diet but I've felt so tired and sluggish throughout on Mounjaro despite losing 3 and 1/2 stone.
I've got about 6 x10mg doses in the fridge and this news has made me rethink the next few months. Instead of ploughing on, I'm considering seeing how I get on with taking just 5mg weekly and focussing on preventing weight gain with what I know works.
