Lots of very useful discussions going on on the old thread, so I thought I would continue it!

Just a heads up it looks like some providers who have stock are wacking up their current prices now. Both Chemist4U and MyBMI have added at least £100 to their pens

I’ve just ordered a 5mg and 7.5mg as a new patient with Chemist4u and it was £318 which is a £10 saving over buying both individually (£149 & £179). I’ve logged in again, ran through the consultation, still the same price. Where are you seeing the additional £100?

Burnserns · 17/08/2025 15:06

WeAllHaveWings · 17/08/2025 14:52

I don't want to see any business shut down over this, but if that is for deliveries before 1st September hope their customers get some extra steps in and walk away from them once this all settles down and tell them exactly why.

Edited

I went through the consultation process for Chemist4U to see, and they were going to charge £299 for a 12.5mg (previous price had been 189.99). Being charitable i did wonder if it is for new customers only? If they are protecting their existing customers then fair enough.

MisseyLurker · 17/08/2025 15:08

@Burnserns you’ve just answered my question. So it’s the higher doses. Wonder if they’ve run out hence the price.

ThirdStorm · 17/08/2025 15:12

Chemist4u used to publish their prices as I used to often price match against them with MedExpress. Having to go through consultation to view prices makes me think they will go up and down? Supply and demand!?

They haven’t even got 15mg on there which makes me think think have run out of it, and greedy with the 10&12.5

LifeOfAShowGirl · 17/08/2025 15:22

IQ doctor have now refunded my order placed on Thursday lunch time. So there’s one 15mg pen there!

I wonder then if it’s something to do with potential other issues? As for me it’s been wonderful at just calling me. But I’m a very anxious (and suspected ADHD) person.

I think I've been low in dopamine for years before starting M as I didn't eat meat for 5 years and dopamine is mainly converted from tyrosine from meat and i had all the symptoms of low dopamine. I also had ibs, anaemia for decades and prediabetes for years so all combined probably affected absorption of nutrients. I definitely noticed a positive difference when taking L tyrosine, it was like turning into an energizer bunny, even on low cals. I definitely think M has worsened my low mood, like I say I notice my mood lifting at the end of the week. With anxiety that's more linked to serotonin than dopamine so that could be why M has worked well for you and if you had high levels of dopamine then you won't be affected with low moods etc.

Weepixie · 17/08/2025 14:44

I think this is very different to the mood changes/flatness that people experience.

Oh I dont disagree was just sharing my personal experience

Im pretty sure I read she asked for a refund.😀

Doidontimmm · 17/08/2025 15:51

I ordered a 5mg through Bolt.

I ordered a 5mg through Bolt.

When was that? Has it been confirmed?

flameprincess · 17/08/2025 16:03

What I'm not understanding is why are all these pharmacies raising the prices now when the increase doesn't happen until 1st September? The pens they are selling now for inflated prices have been purchased by them at the lower original price right?

Some pharmacies have put restrictions in place like 1 pen, some haven’t. They’ve also had supply limited to them so if they run out, the likelihood is they won’t be getting stock until September 1st and these will be the new prices.

To be honest if they don’t have the stock, they shouldn’t be taking orders at the moment. Fine raise the price and mark it as out of stock until then.

MisseyLurker · 17/08/2025 16:11

CloudyYellow · 17/08/2025 16:06

As a new patient it’s not yet been confirmed but I have been asked to provide them with a copy of my last prescription so at least it’s been looked at.

Plain old profiteering.

usedtobeaylis · 17/08/2025 16:53

I've had an order approved with pharmacy2u today just in case anyone is waiting, it's for 15mg. Ordered on Thursday evening. I was also asked for further info so I've been in contact with them all day but hadn't received any emails about either about the query or about the order being approved, I've only known because I logged in.

Oh I ordered from them Thursday evening too, hopefully I’ll hear something soon then. What mg did you order?

Doidontimmm · 17/08/2025 19:01

@CloudyYellow i ordered Thursday and approved yesterday for delivery this week.

JaceLancs · 17/08/2025 19:32

I’m with SheMed and my order was approved as usual should be delivered tomorrow

Goatblu · 17/08/2025 19:45

I've had a 10mg approved by my usual supplier, Cloud. I'm currently on 15mg but there was no stock of 15 or 12.5. I've only got another 5 or 6 pounds to lose and I'm partway through a 15mg. Not feeling very confident about coming off it but I can't manage the increased prices.
