Lots of very useful discussions going on on the old thread, so I thought I would continue it!

Not sure how much we can share on here but there’s some good info on Reddit about the golden dose and how to get it out. I’ve been doing it wrong the entire time, lol!

@JustPinkFinch I was grand on 2.5mg, had loads of energy and better attention. My pharmacy prompted me to re-order a month or two ago so I went up to 5mg on the spur of the moment but I’ve definitely had more dizziness at that dose and the lethargy has been really hard going. I’m happy to go back down to 2.5mg and as you say, slow losses don’t bother me as I’m hoping it’ll mitigate the drawn look one sometimes get with fast weight loss.

@MisseyLurker Where have you seen Simple online prices? I’m with them but haven’t heard anything. I’ve seen on their website that they don’t price match GLP1 anymore

If you read the update at the top of their site or go here care.simpleonlinepharmacy.co.uk/switch-support-faq and go to the bottom they’ve listed Monjaro as Cost From £171 to £464 per
month whereas it’s currently starting at £128 per month.

And yes, no more price matching either. Oh well unless it’s pretty much the same as other suppliers I’ll find another.

Managed to totally miss this over the past 24 hours, thankful this popped up on mums net for me!

Oushk are out of 10mg and 12.5mg already so I’ve ordered a couple of 10mg pens from Chemist4U. Seems to be processing ok so far. I had planned to start tapering down after Christmas but I think I will have to start once I’ve got through these as honestly the prices were already a stretch for me

Oushk are expecting more stock of all doses next week. So worth keeping an eye out if you need them.

Valenciaoranges · 15/08/2025 22:12

Voy have dispatched my order as a new customer but not debited my account? Pharmulous have debited my account but still processing my order.
I tried two new companies as IQ doctor rejected my order after 6 months.
I'm just trying to get set up with a new provider.

Time4changeagain · 15/08/2025 22:21

@MisseyLurker
Thank you. I didn’t scroll all the way down & hadn’t seen it. I looked on the Q&A but nothing happened when I clicked on the top few questions so I asked the bot instead 🤦‍♀️

@LifeOfAShowGirl How can you do it wrong? It sounds very straightforward but maybe, if I think that, I am wrong too. Can you link to that please?

I posted on the previous thread but it was right towards the end so many won't have seen it. I said:
This palaver has, for me, reawakened the intense anger I felt during Covid when, having delayed my retirement from the NHS to help the public and their relatives, I would call at the supermarket to find no bread, no milk, no loo rolls, etc then get home to see absolute pillocks posting gloating pics on social media of their spare bedroom stacked to the rafters with stuff "just in case". It feels as though there are many who simply do not care about others or the society we all have to live in. I don't care if people think I'm being sanctimonious but I do think those who have panic bought multiple pens should feel some shame. I ordered one and think most sensible folk would but multiples from multiple suppliers is just selfish in my view.

I am now retired but got a panic stricken phone call from a friend this morning who has been away so due to order and closer to the wire than normal only to find her normal supplier, the only one she has ever used, out of stock. That's the direct result of this debacle.

lv565 · 15/08/2025 22:26

God it’s so stressful isn’t it! Just when I’d found something that works too!

I’ve actually been side hustling to make money for my jab, so I’ll just have to up my efforts with that! I follow a really good account that helps me learn how to make extra cash (genuine things I can do online that don’t take ages).

I’m happy to share with anyone who might find it helpful - I don’t think I’m allowed to share a link am I? Can you message me for a link? I have no idea how this works 😬

Hoping my next dose gets dispatched soon as I just ordered a couple of days ago. I need to start it on Monday.

I’ve been using the same needle to extract the golden dose out, and then inject! Which explains why the needle is so blunt and hard to use on the second go. You’re meant to buy larger needles to take it out, and then get 34 gauge to inject it.

I placed an order earlier that was confirmed but no further information yet.

If you are using sterile insulin syringes with the needle "built in" they are designed to be used that way. Always get them from a UK pharmacy/medical site, not Amazon to get the right ones
This is from a site advising how to inject insulin and clearly states to use the same insulin syringe to withdraw and inject. MJ pens are identical to insulin ones.
I do this every time and have never had a problem.
As a (now ex) healthcare professional I would never advise members of the public to use anything with changeable needles as there is far too much opportunity for contamination. I wonder if you are seeing information from the US as their healthcare advice is very different

Lots of people do this. I do, and I don't find that the needle is blunt or hard to use. It is also the only way to use the simple single-use syringes that come with the needle attached.

Using 2 needles means buying a completely different type of syringe, one that comes separately from the needles, and then also buying 2 different types of needles. For a subcutaneous jab it is overkill.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Do some research...

LifeOfAShowGirl · 15/08/2025 22:48

Nope, it’s UK advice. Seems easy enough and I’ll definitely be moving to that going forward because I can’t stand the 30 gauge insulin needles im on at the moment!

I had several free pens when I started with Voy last summer, and also 60% off from referral credit since then which was really helpful on the higher doses as it meant 15mg was under £100. I've still got a lot of credit which they have told me I can still use or transfer over to wegovy as well. the offer has changed to £100 off each pen now not 60% off but it is still something.

If you dont mind me asking, how did yiu go about sharing your Voy code? I keep thinking I should do something with mine but I've not told many people in real life so not sure who I'd share it with

That must have been absolutely soul-destroying during Covid.

It’s the way the people bulk-buying brag about it on here that gets me, including the delightful poster who said that those objecting are only doing so out of jealousy, and we’d all be at it if we could… So telling when someone can’t even imagine that others really can have different perspectives and ethics to themselves.

Thank you, it was soul destroying and particularly when so many of my cohort delayed retirement or came back from it for the greater good.

I absolutely agree and, for what it's worth, I am fortunate enough that I will be able to manage either way but the total lack of consideration for others is what gets me. It's no wonder our society is falling apart

LifeOfAShowGirl · 15/08/2025 11:43

I think the issue is Trump can be very erratic, so even though he signed this order nobody knew he was going to do this.

The executive order applies to all pharmacy companies operating in the US not just Eli Lilly so I expect they will all have to make adjustments at some point, and it’s not about being erratic, it’s fact that Americans have paid way more for the same drugs than people in other countries for a long time.

QueenOfHiraeth · 16/08/2025 00:35

@SpryUmberZebra One of the many benefits the NHS gives us is that all healthcare providers work to the same NICE guidance and prescribe the same way whereas the system is more fragmented (to put it politely) in the US and prescribers do not work to universal guidelines. That gives the NHS better purchasing power despite the smaller population which has worked to our advantage
DH's aunt returned to the UK after many years of living in the USA and the cocktail of medications she was on had to be seen to be believed, largely because she saw different specialists for different ailments and there was no overarching co-ordination as there is with the NHS

Ordered a 5mg dose last night as I was due to increase. Once that’s gone I won’t be able to afford to buy anymore.

A shame as it works.
