Lots of very useful discussions going on on the old thread, so I thought I would continue it!

But the people who have bulk bought a couple of pens because they can't afford the price hike would be in the exact same position, just a few more weeks down the line. Why is your need greater?

My need isn’t greater. Everyone has the same need. That’s my point.

India4 · 15/08/2025 16:47

Has anyone had shipping notification from Med Express?

chowmeinz · 15/08/2025 16:47

I’m waiting for ASDA and Medexprss at the moment. ASDA estimating 4-6 days for approval and Medexpress 7-10 according to their emails

We live in a free market economy.

Yes, but than you need to understand that Eli Lilly can up the price as high as they wish, living in a free market economy and so on.

Yes, but you think they shouldn't buy pens now when they can afford them, so that you can get one, despite the fact that it would mean they couldn't afford their pens in a few weeks' time, and would be in exactly the position you're in now. Why should they sacrifice their health for yours?

Ordered my next pen yesterday from MedExpress (1 x 10mg) and its not been approved yet. Starting to panic as need it by Thursday next week - I also go on holiday on Friday so if it isn't delivered before Thursday it'll be left outside to get warm :(

In my experience medexpress always come the day after they are despatched. Can't a neighbour take it in for you if you are away?

Do you know the increased price for Mounjaro 5mg please?

Medicine Marketplace are saying £178 for 5mg. Which is up from £135 but as a comparison, Simple Online Pharmacy are saying that Monjaro will start at £171 which would be 2.5mg so like always,
provider prices will differ greatly and I can see people moving around more now.

Fatmumslim01 · 15/08/2025 16:51

Does anyone know if oushk have released their prices for September yet?

We live in a free market economy.

We also live in a community and throughout your life you will benefit - knowingly and unknowningly - from the quiet actions of others. Pay it forward.

They seem to have confirmed to others that this is the best they can do with what they have agreed. I agree that they don’t look THAT bad but you just know there are places going to take the absolute mick! My provider is already quoting between £178 to £464 (but are also advising they can’t confirm prices yet) wonder if they’ll still price match.

I’m still fairly certain that some providers knew this was coming, the fact they’ve managed to get prices out so quickly plus some had already begun restricting the number of pens from earlier this week. My provider did and said it was due to the supplier.

Edited

Seeing as the government have been involved in the NHS side of things id imagine they all knew.

She won't benefit if she's got no money and/or she has to give up the medication that is making her healthy, though, will she? She can pay it forward in numerous ways that don't mean she has to sacrifice her health in the process.

You're saying you can afford multiple pens now, but not a single pen in a few weeks time?

LifeOfAShowGirl · 15/08/2025 16:58

Oushk have confirmed £160-£320

This couldn't have come at a worse time for me, huge vet bill and car repair bills this month. I won't lie I am very jealous of those who can afford to stock up and am feeling very sad that I can't 😂.

I have one in the fridge and one on the way. I'm on 12.5mg at the moment and going forward if the prices at Medical Marketplace stay the same I could probably just about afford to continue, but I don't think I can justify it so looks like I will definitely be as my username suggests a fat bride next year 😂.

Pipplestop · 15/08/2025 17:00

JustPinkFinch · 15/08/2025 16:32

You can all keep grasping to justify why you've done it. But there are many users (spend 5 mins on Reddit) who don't have your financial means, can only order 1 a month and whose pharmacies have now sold out / stopped supplying because of bulk buying.

Maybe, but it's not your place to preach

chipsticksmammy · 15/08/2025 17:01

Medicine marketplace are refunding anyone who ordered more than 1 pen.

They have been told by Lilly not to issue more than 1 per customer.

Interesting…

@MisseyLurker Where have you seen Simple online prices? I’m with them but haven’t heard anything. I’ve seen on their website that they don’t price match GLP1 anymore

I’m surprised the manufacturer has that say to be honest but I guess as they have monopoly it’s either fall in line or stop being a distributor

LifeOfAShowGirl · 15/08/2025 17:05

Oushk also confirmed more stock next week - so I don’t know how true it is that other pharmacies are saying no more orders.
