Full message-

Mounjaro prices are changing
Hi there,

You may have heard that Eli Lilly, the manufacturer of Mounjaro, will be adjusting prices from 1st September 2025. This update affects the entire industry, and is not specific to Chemist4U.

Here's an update from James O'Loan, CEO & Chief Superintendent Phamacist at Chemist4U, about the price changes.

"In light of recent news regarding price rises for Mounjaro, Chemist4U’s top priority is shielding our customers from price volatility and supporting patients to keep on track with their weight loss journey.

“We are currently in negotiations with Eli Lilly on future pricing for Mounjaro but in the meantime, we have no immediate plans to increase our prices inline with theirs on the 1st of September and have plenty of stock including bundles available. Our team of pharmacists are on hand to provide advice to any new or existing customers who need our support.”

We have plenty of stock available, with bundles available to select for customers that this is an option for.

Alternatively if you wish to switch to Wegovy we are equipped to assist you with the change. Ultimately, we are here to support you and our priority is to keep your weight loss journey on track.

I’m considering another option perhaps injecting on day 8 next time and increasing a day each time if I can. I would like to see how far i can get before I have to abruptly stop.

This couldn't have come at a worse time for me, huge vet bill and car repair bills this month. I won't lie I am very jealous of those who can afford to stock up and am feeling very sad that I can't 😂.

I have one in the fridge and one on the way. I'm on 12.5mg at the moment and going forward if the prices at Medical Marketplace stay the same I could probably just about afford to continue, but I don't think I can justify it so looks like I will definitely be as my username suggests a fat bride next year 😂.

Edited

So sorry to read this…who knows maybe there will be a price war to reduce prices? You will be a gorgeous bride I’m sure.

LifeOfAShowGirl · 15/08/2025 17:10

Oushk have also confirmed their plan for people to move across to wegovy. Interestingly they leave room
for higher doses of wegovy than 15mg of Mounjaro

Just tried to order two pens from Oushk, but the system only allowed me to order one.

I’m waiting for ASDA and Medexprss at the moment. ASDA estimating 4-6 days for approval and Medexpress 7-10 according to their emails

@chowmeinz do you have a screenshot of the email from.med express at all I've not had anything. Had a text encouraging me to order before prices change but nothing about timescale

You're saying you can afford multiple pens now, but not a single pen in a few weeks time?

That is what I was thinking.

I’d imagine it’s because 2.4 of wegovy is more expensive than 15mg of MJ on most sites I’ve looked on. Definitely was on medicine market place. So cost wise it wouldn’t work for people to go from 15mg of MJ to 2.4 wegovy and they know it.

LifeOfAShowGirl · 15/08/2025 17:28

CloudyYellow · 15/08/2025 17:20

That is what I was thinking.

It’s not that though. It’s the fact that I have saved £420.

What upsets me is the total out of the blue announcement. No warning it was even a possibility. Plus it's not like you can just go cold turkey. It's two weeks notice that you might be priced out of the market.

I'm planing on going back down to micro dosing 5mg from my 10mg until I know what's round the corner. I also feel a bit worried waiting for my next pen to be approved. I would feel a whole lots better if there was 6 weeks or two months notice. But if your on say 15mg and can't offord double how can those people taper off?

I really don't want that kind of uncertainty and that's making me rethink more than the price hike.

Wistfullysleepy · 15/08/2025 17:32

For those stockpiling, please be aware that providers will start you again if you haven’t had a valid prescription written in the last 8 weeks. So you might have a bit of a job persuading them you’ve not stopped it.

SecretSquirrel703 · 15/08/2025 17:33

chipsticksmammy · 15/08/2025 17:01

Medicine marketplace are refunding anyone who ordered more than 1 pen.

They have been told by Lilly not to issue more than 1 per customer.

Interesting…

If this is true, someone had better tell WePrescribe this asap as they've emailed this afternoon stating we can buy a maximum of 3 pens for when their stock arrives on Monday, (subject to availability).
Comments all over saying latest orders for more than 1 pen have been approved ok.
Are we already at the #PissUpInABrewery stage??

I had a pen surplus a while ago due to buying them on deals etc. Hira said that if I wrote on the box when I started using the jab and sent a photo when reordering after a gap it would be fine. I had no issues and that was with pens from a different supplier. If they supplied the three pens in the first place it’ll be on their file anyway.

Snozzlemaid · 15/08/2025 17:36

I placed an order with Bolt yesterday. They’ve emailed today to advise it may take 1 - 2 weeks before it’s processed and shipped. Good job I don’t need it quicker than that.

@LifeOfAShowGirl do you know if oushk have said this is for new to oushk customers aswell? I was thinking of switching to oushk after 1st September but it will probably have been around 8 weeks since my last order with another pharmacy

She won't benefit if she's got no money and/or she has to give up the medication that is making her healthy, though, will she? She can pay it forward in numerous ways that don't mean she has to sacrifice her health in the process.

It seems Med Express web site is under maintenance!!
