My brain is ahead of my body! In my head i am far thinner than I am in reality. Then I see last week's holiday pictures!
Anyhow, lost the holiday gain very quickly so pleased with that. Total lost now 34 pounds and have stayed on 6mg for the 3rd week. I am finding suppression much less but find side effects in the first few days horrid so dare not go up further yet. Weight loss is slow at 1 pound a week.
I stock piled a few 7.5mg pens prior to the price hike. It is playing on my mind how I will get further needles once these run out.

I'm the same. I feel so much better in myself. Asked my son to take a full length picture of me in my new coat this week, because I felt FINE.

I still look like a fat lady.

Ah well.

I am a THINNER fat lady, and it's all heading in the right direction.

Current weight is 16st 11 lbs. I've lost somewhere between 4 and 5st - I didn't weight myself properly to start with. My first goal weight is 14st - because the lightest I've ever been as an adult was 13.5st, and I can't imagine ever being that thin again.

At 14 stone, my BMI will still be obese. The guidelines say I should be targeting between 8st 7lb and 11st 5lb. I have massive boobs, even when skinny. I think one of them weighs 8st on its own. I was 12 stone at 17, when I had an absolutely banging body and danced in cages in nightclubs. So wherever I get to, I will have a lifetime of being weighed and told I need to lose weight. Whatever.

When I get to 14 stone, I will review and set a new target if I feel I need to.

MissMogs · 25/10/2025 17:53

I’m worried about next pens too. Also worried about reaching the max dose and it not working and having nowhere else to go! I’m on 10mg now, but have struggled over the past week with sugar cravings again and wanting to eat more (and giving in). Up a kg over the week. I have another 10mg pen and a couple of 12.5s waiting. I could take more from the 10, but then where will it end? I feel like I should be slowing down the increases and trying to manage better with willpower, but a lifetime of binge eating tells me I’m rubbish at that! The only thing that has worked is fullness and craving suppression on MJ. And the Halloween treats are starting to creep into the house, and then it’ll be Christmas. Anyone else wobbling now?

SomethingAboutYou · 25/10/2025 19:30

@Bloozie that's epic, you're doing so well 🙌 I'm starting to realise that how I feel is equally as important as how much my bmi says and what the doctors/nurses think I need to be. Let's celebrate the wonderful clothes and how great we feel in the moment 🎉

@MissMogs I'm not wavering as such but my losses have slowed to under 1lb a week. I have given myself November to continue to lose then switching my mindset to aiming for a maintain/low gain over xmas then will be back to losing mode in January. I want to enjoy the xmas foods and chocolates, and I hope I can do it in moderation and not go silly, but I also don't want to be beating myself up every time I enjoy a treat so hoping that this shift will allow me to be kind with myself but not just go off the rails completely...we'll see how it goes 🤷‍♀️

Crinklecat · 26/10/2025 13:49

yes I’m trying to stay on as low dose as possible but really should increase. Currently on 6.25mg and will increase to 7.5mg soon I think

SecretIrnBruDrinker · 26/10/2025 19:48

I've got two and a half 5mg pens left, which covers Christmas then I'll have a think about stopping or going up for a final push. I'm doing 1200 cals and >90g protein a day and gym at least 3 times a week but I'm down to losing 1lb a week for the last month.

I was planning on treating myself at Xmas too, but it would be dangerous for me to start that now - I’d eat everything in sight!

SomethingAboutYou · 26/10/2025 20:33

Half term and the impending sweets on halloween will be tricky 🫣

FoxRedPuppy · 27/10/2025 07:28

Despite increased suppression with 7.5mg, I seem to be gaining and losing the same kg, or part of a kg for about 3 weeks! Not sure where I’m going wrong.

I did 50 clicks of 7.5mg pen this week, so hopefully not as much suppression.

Crinklecat · 27/10/2025 09:10

@FoxRedPuppy that’s the same dose I’m doing. I’ve not had much suppression although jabbed last night and feel sick after a piece of toast this morning (had been back up to having 2…) so hopefully I’ll start feeling the effects again.

youll probably get a whoosh soon

my losses have definitely slowed but need to keep looking at the overall trend

June 2025 Starters - Mounjaro (thread 5)
MtKiloMounjaro · 27/10/2025 10:48

Hi everyone. I really need your help so please please respond if you have advice or experience.
I'm 4 months into the mounjaro journey and have been on 7.5mg for the last 2 months and continuing with 7.5mg. However the last few weeks i've been losing a lot of hair! A LOT! It's not noticeable on my head yet but i'm so scared of it falling out that it's making me want to quit the jabs even thought i'm only half way to my goal :( I know it's not the jab doing it but rather the weight loss (1-2lbs average per week and slowing). So will it still happen if i lose weight the natural way or is it because Mounjaro is causing a nutrient and water deficiency?

Did any of you experience hair loss and how long did that last before it went back to normal hair loss?

I'm so worried, i went through this when i was in my 20's on accutane and it just dried the shit out of my hair and so much broke off.

Gingercar · 27/10/2025 10:54

I’ve read that pumpkin seed oil is good for blocking the hormone(?) that causes hair loss.

I would speak to your GP as a first port of call. They may want to check it’s not anything else causing the hair loss. Always good to be sure and not just assume it’s the MJ. Good luck!

FoxRedPuppy · 27/10/2025 11:37

Also I think creatine and/or collagen? I think it’s to do with rapid weightloss, not something specific to the jabs. So maybe it would stop/slow if your weightloss has slowed?

Crinklecat · 27/10/2025 11:52

I’ve been taking collagen and protein powder to avoid hair loss. Also rosemary oil is good

Unfortunately it is a known side affect of rapid weightloss. I was prone to it after COVID, but have noticed more hair loss recently. I'm 21 weeks in on MJ. I'm taking collagen, biotin, magnesium and B12/K2 to counteract, using a scalp massager and heat protection spray too. Kérastase has also been great but spenny. Ultimately the most important thing is to keep protein as high as possible.

Dellabella83 · 27/10/2025 15:17

Hey everyone
so, after months on 5mg and determined to stay on a low dose I’ve taken my first 7.5mg last night. The last two weeks suppression has been zero and I’ve eaten so much rubbish (although my dh has pointed out that my idea of ‘so much’ is minute to how I used to be.) I had very little willpower and it has worried me that without mounjaro I will fail but, I’ve still got a long journey ahead of me (chuffed to be 15st 7 after starting at 19st 3!) side effects of dose increase hit like a hammer this morning. Sulphur burps, feeling so bloated and full to my eyeballs I haven’t been able to eat yet (having lots of peppermint tea and water tho). After loads of you have recommended it, I’ve downloaded nutricheck which I’m finding tons better than my fitness pal so need to get back on track.

HappyWineDay · 28/10/2025 10:44

@Dellabella83 if you find you're struggling with 7.5mg side effects, maybe try 6.25mg next time and see how you get on? (That's 50 clicks in a 7.5mg pen).

MissMogs · 28/10/2025 13:56

I’d definitely recommend stepping up slowly - it’s worked for me each time (and makes the pens last longer!)

I’m doing similar but dosing up. Hunger has been all-consuming this past couple of weeks so I added some extra clicks to my 10mg pen today. Took some maths to work it out! I wanted a halfway step up to 12.5, but the extra 2.5 is 1/4 of the 10mg dose = 15 clicks, so I did 7 extra clicks instead. At least I think that’s right!!
still so hungry at lunch so ended up eating cheesy pasta. I need this to kick back in!! Half term and lack of routine is also not helping I’m sure!

SunandMoor · 29/10/2025 08:57

@MtKiloMounjaro I was worried about this from day 1. Everything I read says it’s temporary and because of the diet not Monjouro. I know someone who lost a lot on Wegovy and she had it but it has grown back. I think it’s worth seeing a GP and asking for a blood test to test for vitamin deficiency. I take every day Biotin and Zinc tablets (nutrition geeks) and collagen powder (also nutrition geeks). I am also using a new Elvive Shampoo and conditioner which boosts growth (boots) along with a serum you massage into your scalp. All 3 were on offer in Boots and they are nice products. I have also cut down on the number of times I wash my hair from every other day to just twice a week unless I am going somewhere special. I have had a bit of shedding but my hairdresser seems to think it’s nothing unusual. I am on week 22. If it was me and I was getting a lot of loss I would pay for a private blood test if the doctors won’t do it. But just to reassure you everything I read says it’s temporary and I would probably keep on MJ but maybe focus on getting lots of vitamins etc in your diet. Hope this helps!

SomethingAboutYou · 29/10/2025 18:39

I lost a lot of hair a year ago, before mounjaro. I had lost a stone and a half earlier in the year (slowly through exercise and calorie counting) but I was also experiencing quite strong peri-menopause symptoms. Once I went on the mini pill to try and control peri symptoms the hair loss slowed down (timing might have been a coincidence) but hasn't continued to come out. It's still thinner than before but loss is more normal now, just when brushing and straightening. Not sure if it was the weightloss or peri-menopause but I feel your pain, it's frightening when it comes out in clumps x

Librariesrule · 30/10/2025 07:14

So after a few weeks jab free, I started again last week on 2.5mg (put on 1lb while jab free). So just weighed and have lost 3lb this week, really didn't think I'd lost anything. Feeling quietly confident that I'll be 13st something before I go away at beginning of December.
SW (23.June) 16st 11lb
CW 14st 8lb
GW still to decide

Morning all, still bimbling along here. Jab 20 yesterday, average over that time currently at 0.6kg/week which is about 1.2lbs. Would like it to be more, but shouldn't have had those three weeks off in August!

Yesterday I was absolutely exhausted again, but jab day fatigue is happily my only side effect at the moment. I'm not getting great suppression, but enough to make my exercise and eating goals comfortably attainable, although I could happily eat more. I also have so much social stuff at the moment and for the next few weeks, so will not be upping dosage before the new year.

MissMogs · 30/10/2025 19:39

Well, my 10mg + 7 extra clicks strategy seems to have worked. Much less food noise again now. Some mild nausea coming and going, but I’ll take that over the constant hunger and thinking about food! Weight down ever so slightly so I feel like I’m back in the game. Still worried about increasing and running out of doses to increase to though, when I'm not even halfway to goal…

RussianDoll76 · 31/10/2025 09:07

Weigh day and this plateau is coming up for 4 weeks now I’m bouncing between 11 st 2 lbs and 11st can’t get into the 10’s . Counting cals exercise and keeping up water and protein. Getting very frustrating have moved up to 5mg but although suppression is there not as strongly as in the beginning , food noise is definitely back . So feeling a bit miserable that weight won’t budge and having to fight the food noise every day too 😏. Shouldn’t be so miserable as I am at a nice size really. I really wanted to lose this extra stone as a buffer really for maintenance. I am still overweight bmi wise I should be 7 stone 4lbs to 9 stone 4lbs to be healthy bmi according to my height but would look to gaunt. Anyone else struggling with a plateau, think I am at week 19 🤔.
