Happy 1st birthday to us all - somewhere in this month we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

the amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+

in a year or for some 11-11.5mths - I was middle of August - we have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

some are at goal - and working out how to maintain

some nearing it

some still have weight they want to lose

Some have stopped for cost / various reasons and blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

but ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

maybe if brave - post your before and after pics to see how far we have come in a year

only 2 words to say 😂😂😂

I would love to know how many people on MJ are petite. I’m a short arse and I’m sure that makes it easier for me to gain weight as “normal” portion sizes and calorie guidance are meant for normal height men and women.

FurForksSake · 22/08/2025 19:11

@Glittermoonlight well done for getting to goal and maintaining! It sounds like you’ve done really well.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/08/2025 20:29

Well done @Glittermoonlight

do stay on here tho

innthe ideal world we would all be off it forever and not gain but stay here giving support

Hello, I've missed so much to catch up on, i will need to do it in stages 😂

I am still maintaining, I have had a lot going on with health and I am now on the referral list for orthopedics again! Hopefully I will have my next hip replacement done for next year. My GP has prescribed me Amitriptyline after a consultation and has checked regarding the interactions with quetiapine, so that's one help for my pain at night. Ive to be taken off cocodamol and moved to Nefopam, so I'm down to 3 a day plus paracetamol. I've not had withdrawals yet (hopefully not) I had enough with the tramadol 😂😂
Has anyone had any experience with Nefopam?
I will go and catch up now, I'm on 11th August ❤️😂😂 xxxx

Fingers crossed, if it arrives early tomorrow that will be fine but I can't stay in all day and RM don't deliver on a Sunday

With RM they will leave in a safe place that you inform them of.

@FurForksSakenot petite I’m 5’6 so pretty average and average build as well.

however I completely agree that the world isn’t set up for petite people with portion controls being aimed at men (as with everything else in the world!)

hey @NippyNinjaCrabgreat news about referral.

the new prices are very expensive feel so sorry for people that are a few months in! We’re all very lucky we started when we did.

I came across this lady on Instagram and liked what I saw. She’s based in the USA but her style could easily be copied and sourced from UK based shops.

Thanks for sharing @Weepixie - I never thought to follow people for style tips but I’m now fully immersed- excellent style suggestions!

The tracking information doesn't suggest it will arrive today ☹️

My worry is that if there's a problem I will be refunded and the order won't be fulfilled

I get all my style tips on insta...my favourite is On.My.Marks She always lets you know latest things in stock in M&S and H&M I guess it all depends on your own personal style too.

I agree. I wonder that if I had been starting now, the price increase would just make me stop taking MJ. I had no real idea how much my life would change being on MJ.

poppym12 · 23/08/2025 13:41

I've got a pen stuck at a depot somewhere too that probably won't be delivered until Tuesday now due to bank holiday.

I've accepted pens a day later than expected before but I don't think being in the postal system for 5 days is acceptable is it? I won't be using it yet anyway as it's a 10mg to help me through maintenance.

I've emailed the supplier but no doubt I'll get the usual response of 'it'll be fine' blah blah.

Not happy but not sure what I can do.

I would love to know how many people on MJ are petite. I’m a short arse and I’m sure that makes it easier for me to gain weight as “normal” portion sizes and calorie guidance are meant for normal height men and women.

I'm also short and 'petite' with narrow hips, and I put most weight on round by tummy. At 64 I (and an exercise hater) I don't think I'll ever have a flat tummy, but I'm pretty pleased with where I've got to and how I look in general.

It was quite a shock to realise how few calories I need to maintain this smaller weight. I've got the hang of making smaller portions of food, eating fewer meals (some intermittent fasting) and eating off a smaller plate. The freezer is bulging with single portions of left overs! I find it much harder if I'm out as portions in restaurants are so big, and it feels quite rude to not finish. I need to work on getting over that feeling.

The prices of MJ are quite shocking. I didn't ever go very high, but at the start of my journey contemplating a potential £300+ every month might have stopped me from even starting. I think it could also lead to more risky behaviour, people either buying from unregulated sources or extending the time they use the pens waaaay beyond the suggested. I know many people do this anyway, but probably at the margins when they're coming down the doses rather than deliberating planning to purchase a pen in a much higher dose then they use and making it last for more than a couple of months.

20bloodypounds · 23/08/2025 13:50

I'm another with an undelivered pen today. The depots must be bulging with MJ packages!

What are you going to do about yours? I'm annoyed because my usual pen was ordered 2 days later and turned up the next day.

Timetofindme · 23/08/2025 17:33

Those price increases from medexpress are bad! I wonder if suppliers will keep going with discount codes (I don't mean medexpress referral codes). I've still got a way to go so am just going to have to plod on and see where I can get to and hope that some of the others don't have such drastic increases as medexpress!

poppym12 · 23/08/2025 19:22

My delivery has just arrived. Warm. The 'ice pack' was reading as 24° and its a lot cooler now than it has been all day. It's not going to be any good is it?

owlyboo · 23/08/2025 19:24

@poppym12i think it’ll be fine as I used my last pen for months and didn’t feel any decrease. Having said that I wouldn’t be happy to accept it having paid for it and it’s against the guidelines.
