Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

I'm on my second cycle of hair loss. It's textbook telogen effluvium - it slowed down and stopped within the space of the last 6 weeks but has started again now, although not to the same extent so far. I've got regrowth all round my hairline which just sticks up and looks ridiculous. I freaked out about it at first which probably didn't help matters but once I realised it was textbook I calmed down - the message was sent to shed the hair weeks and weeks ago so not much anyone can do. I take collagen and I also wash my hair with a biotin and collagen shampoo and that seems to give the impression of a thickness I no longer have. I'll keep doing that through this round of hair loss because my hair definitely isn't unhealthy, just thin.

WoolerOwl · 19/09/2025 13:36

Yes, I am losing a bit. It feels like a lot in the shower plug hole. I think I was losing some before weight loss and MJ, just because of age. But definitely more now. I still have a lot of hair (thick curls) so it's not very obvious to anyone except me, but I think it looks a bit thinner at the front and I have a higher hairline. I am taking collagen and iron.

This is so similar to my experience - also thick curls, and although it still has a decent amount of volume, if I put it up in a pony tail, there's so much less hair to pull through the bobble. Hopefully it will calm down soon; my toddler is constantly picking up strands of my hair and returning them to me 🙈
I also experienced premature menopause in the last 2 years and have been up and down with HRT, so imagine this has been a factor too.

Mounjaroday · 19/09/2025 14:53

@strongermummy God the hair loss! The hair loss is suddenly insane!!! What’s happened to trigger this again? I thought we were finished with that phase.

@usedtobeaylis people are such twats, uninformed and judgemental. IRL everyone knows my story and expect there’s been some unkind words behind my back (and a couple to my face too!) but fuck em. The results speak for themselves. It is undeniable!

@SpiralSister get in! You’re in the 10s!! I’m coming for you - 11.1 stone this morning! Wahooo!

Lots of love to the rest of you as well. Having a really manic week and been struggling to keep up!

P.S. where has @Zibb gone I miss her updates xx

I've posted these before but these helped with my hairloss- I stopped taking them for a bit as I misplaced the packet and I was losing shedloads again within days! www.nutritiongeeks.co/products/iron-energy-high-immune-support-complex

MrsHero · 19/09/2025 16:26

@sweetpickle2 I'll have a look at those, thanks. Have already got their biotin supplements. Bedside table is starting to look like a pharmacy...

Not just me then 😂 I started taking a whole load of things and found myself unbelievably tired and my brain fog got worse so I think I was getting too much of something. I've stripped it back to L Tyrosine, calcium with added vitamin D, and collagen. The rest is sitting beside my bed gathering dust 😅

I have really bad brain fog and extremely tired but my b12 injection is due early October so thinking its that. I take female multivitamins with some collegen in. But I will keep an eye on that. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Gone into size 10 leggings I think i do need to go on vinted as ive spent so much on this journey on shein and donated clothes to charity looks like I need do it again.

PurpleCoo · 20/09/2025 10:45

@CoolLimeSheep Hi, yes, still on my travels. Haven't done Snowdon yet, that should be in a few days.

Signal is on and off so it's harder to keep up with the thread, but I have browser now and then. Well done on some amazing losses, and of note @SpiralSister well done for getting in the 10s!! That's a fabulous achievement.

My total step count/miles for the 9 days so far is 110 miles, so not too shabby. That obviously includes general mooching about, it's not all hill climbs/hikes, but I am pleased nonetheless.

My stomach and shoulders really hurt though. The waist band on my backpack must have been cutting in due to the weight of it (I carry photography gear, plus water for me and the dog, plus books etc). It does feel like bruising or like I have done a really extreme core workout, so I guess I need to travel lighter if I can. I think the skin there is so soft now and my waist is quite small, so feels tender easily I guess. My legs don't hurt at all though, and I caught sight of myself in a full length mirror and was astonished. My quads are solid and I look slim and athletic. I bought a size 10 hoody woohoo. I feel like I might actually be a size 10-12 now in general, but do feel I need to try everything on, as it can vary.

No idea what my weight is as I can't weigh when travelling. It does make me feel slightly uncomfortable not being able to weigh for so long. I am not tracking as such, and I am eating out some nights, but I am being sensible, with the odd treat. I do like to monitor my weight daily at home as I reduce what I am eating if I gain and eat more if it seems like I am losing too quickly, but I am blind right now.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 20/09/2025 11:09

Good morning! Sorry I haven't read back as I'm hating the new colour scheme. Wtf have mumsnet done? Hope everyone is still doing well!

Broke my crisp break last night which I'm not at all bothered about but wanted to keep accountable.

Will raise my head above the pulpit another time!

CoolLimeSheep · 20/09/2025 12:28

@PurpleCoo let me know how snowdon goes bet your having a great time.
Not good with the bruising tho. Definitely pack lighter if possible and don't worry about the scales for now. You've packed loads of walking in 😄 @Nomoretopswithblacktrousers i still have the odd crisps cant help myself 🤣
I hate when they change things on apps etc drives me mad

CoolLimeSheep · 20/09/2025 14:16

Had my wegovy delivered this morning from juniper came with scales and body tape measure which I didn't expect so preety happy let you know in couple of weeks how I get on

sweetpickle2 · 20/09/2025 14:19

The Juniper scales are great- I use the app to log my weight every week, even though I cancelled my subscription with them months ago I am still able to use the app to track my weight and measurements.

Thats really good. I like the look of them 😆

SpiralSister · 20/09/2025 17:51

Just got a multipack of knickers from Sainsbos for my holiday. Got size 14 because I always favour sizing up in the arse covering department - nice and comfy - but bugger me, they are falling down. Curses! 😂

usedtobeaylis · 20/09/2025 20:14

I know this has mentioned before in various places but what an absolute pleasure it is to have a bath, to fit in it with loads of room to spare, to get out of it without causing a tsunami, and to shave legs that are about half the size they used to be.

CoolLimeSheep · 21/09/2025 06:26

SpiralSister · 21/09/2025 06:35

Hope you’re ok, @CoolLimeSheep - that sounds a bit worrying? What was the nerve conduction done for? I might have missed an update..

My left arm goes numb and tingly has been for about 2 years plus my feet are numb and tingly at night. I am little worried but also relief as I knew something wasnt right

SpiralSister · 21/09/2025 06:54

I’m glad you’re getting the tests done in that case. And at least no one will be able to fob you off by blaming your weight now!

usedtobeaylis · 21/09/2025 11:18

W31 Day 1 (week 8 on 8mg)
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st 10lb
Loss this week: 2lb
Total loss: 3st 9lb

The 2lb I put on last week is off so that's good. Currently feeling very squishy so I was hoping by today it would mean a slightly bigger loss but it hasn't materialised. It feels excruciatingly slow going, 5lbs in a month. I know it's still within healthy range and is steady but I only lost 3-4lbs the month before. So just over half a stone in two months. Better off than on but still, I've still got 3 stone to lose and I feel like it's not actually coming off 😆

It is though, and if I keep losing 1lb a week then I would hopefully be around another stone down by Christmas.

Edit: actually I'm revising my target weight upwards to 10st, so 2st 10lb to lose. I did have it at around 9.5st so I would be bang in the middle of the healthy BMI range but realising it has EIGHT stone 5lb also in the healthy range makes me think I'm being silly. There's no way on gods green earth that 8.5st would be healthy for me, I would be emaciated. I think I would actually just be content to get into the 10st-something range and be happy to try and maintain within that.

WoolerOwl · 21/09/2025 11:28

So, I'm on the downhill slopes now. Back to 7.5 after a month of 10. Attempted the bonus dose from 10 but ended up with the syringe end coming out of the bottom and the whole lot spilling down the sink! So much for attempts to save money by using the fifth dose. So I've started the 7.5. Felt oddly dizzy just after I took it, but a chocolate biscuit seems to have sorted that out.

In other news, my gorgeous brown leather boots that I used to zip my calf skin into (ouch!) in my attempts to get them to fasten are now slightly loose. They look great!

About 2.5 kgs to get to goal, I reckon, and just half a kg to join some of you in the 60 something kgs/ten stone something range. Weigh in next week.

Mounjaroday · 21/09/2025 13:28

Goodbye 100kgs
90kgs
80kgs
70kgs
… yesterday I touched 69.9kg. Back up this morning, but still. The sixes! They’re real! 😂

@usedtobeaylis 1lb a week is so healthy but yes it’s frustrating isn’t it!!

Also totally hear you with the target question. I actually don’t know where to ‘stop’ now. To be bang in the middle of healthy is around 65kg, so another stone from where I am today. Argh!! … but equally I can see my tummy is still a bit podgy so maybe another stone should be the target? Gah!

I remember being 65kg when I was in my early twenties. Can you believe it (of course you can) my boyfriend at the time used to call me fat. What a gent. And I believed him! Makes me so cross for my younger self!

I remember my grandmother saying “Ooh, she’s put on weight” when I’d gone from maybe nine and three quarter stone to ten stone after my first term of university. People are just weird and cruel.

CoolLimeSheep · 21/09/2025 21:41

@Mounjaroday I feel sorry too for my younger self its strange as we didn't have social media then like kids do now and still felt fat or ugly.
@usedtobeaylis totally get target struggle i do feel happy in myself and body. It's strange but then think im not at healthy bmi yet and should I give myself wriggle room 🤔
@WoolerOwl awesome on the boots bet they look amazing.
I told doc yesterday ive lost weight and my bodys breaking at 39 🤦‍♀️ as the days gone on after tests yesterday my neck hurts which is weird but hey sorry if I so talk about myself too much just sometimes need to talk 🤣
