Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

W30 Day 1 (week 7 on 8mg)
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st 12lb

So 2lb on, very slightly tinged with disappointment but very expected. I think this is only the second time I've had a gain so keeping it in perspective as I imagine this happens more the closer you get to any kind of 'normal' weight.

And as I said, despite expecting it, it hasn't dimmed my enthusiasm this week for myself and my future and how thrilled I am. My body does not look bad at all. Don't get me wrong I need to work on my flat pancake backside and my jiggly under arms, and I do have that bizarre muffin/apron we all seem to get at our stomach, but so far it's nowhere near as bad as I expected. My boobs are shrinking which I am over the moon about but sadly of course they're not as perky as they were 15 years ago. And my body feels so much better. Nothing is a big effort, it's just so nice to move around freely.

SkintSingleMumm · 14/09/2025 12:37

A week ago today i took my last jab (for the moment, due to cost). I weighed today and im 4lbs off 3stone! Im going to white knuckle it but keep to the same principles with food, weighing daily

SW: 17.3 stone (size18)
CW: 14.7 stone (size 14)

Determined not to put the weight back on

WoolerOwl · 14/09/2025 12:58

Awesome, @CoolLimeSheep !

WoolerOwl · 14/09/2025 13:04

My Uniqlo black trousers in large are now much too large. I thought I’d had a good wardrobe clear out in August but must have either missed them or have shrunk round the waist even more. (Yes, this is a stealth boast!). I have a “storage box of shame” under the bed for the nicer items that I have grown out of, to remind me of how big I was, to keep for a year as a challenge to keep the weight off, and to wear again if it ever comes to that. But my intention is that it won’t!

But now I am wondering if I need to go through the whole wardrobe again. Especially the trousers. Jackets can just be a little oversized. Stretchy t shirts just look loose rather than stretched. But the trousers look ridiculous and are in danger of falling down round my ankles.

WoolerOwl · 14/09/2025 13:07

You can do it, @SkintSingleMumm . Same principles of eating and exercising as while on MJ. Let us know how you get on. In my experience although the weight loss is slower after a while, it shows more in terms of how things fit. The kitchen roll theory is true. Definitely true in relation to my falling down trousers. I hope that helps with motivation.

strongermummy · 15/09/2025 22:40

new NSV x2 today….
i found a UK10 M&S dress (for City job) in a local charity shop.

IT FITS!

then I was in Oliver Bonas at Waterloo station today and looking at a jumpsuit. The assistant said I should try the 8 or 10!!!

I was a little embarrassed (no idea why) and grabbed the 10. IT FIT!!! And. She may have been right and I should have tried on the 8. Ffs. I ran out without buying anything as I was too shocked.

I was a size 16 only 9 months ago. I have been an 18 in the recent past. A 16 or 14 for all of my adult hood.

I have not been a 12, nor a 10, let alone an 8, in my adult life. Not even when I got married.

blardy amazing.

strongermummy · 15/09/2025 22:42

so. Now I need to work out how to taper and how to maintain…. Anyone got some hints tips recommendations?

where do I find good advice on how to do this…. To avoid going backwards!

strongermummy · 15/09/2025 22:43

And….. on a theme….. I’ve also started to clear out my wardrobe today. No point keeping my Big Clothes in there taking up space . Perhaps I should store the 16s in the loft to hedge my bets for a while….. ?

what are you doing with your Bigger Clothes?

SpiralSister · 16/09/2025 07:16

Amazing, @strongermummy! You must feel fantastic!

Bigger clothes? I’ve got rid of the lot of them, on Vinted mainly. I’m not going back, no way.

I don’t need them any more and nor do you. 💐

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 16/09/2025 09:53

Forgot to post after weigh in yesterday, just half a kilo off which I cant help but be dissapointed with. I know slow is better but I'm so close to being under 70kg, I'm getting impatient.

@strongermummy amazing, well done. I tried on every item of clothing in my wardrobes over the weekend and anything that is too big has gone. It felt very cathartic, and now when I open the wardrobe, I know everything fits and makes me feel great.

SW - 82.6kg
2nd SW - 75.5kg
CW - 71.1kg

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 16/09/2025 12:01

@strongermummy I had as many of the clothes as possible of the clothes that I liked taken in. It was cheaper than buying new clothes. The rest will either go on Vinted or to charity.

Thank you! I feel good. I have a healthy BMI and a plan to get stronger and fitter.

my original push into the journey was seeing how frail and unwell my parents are in their early 70s, especially compared to their peers.

so my objective at the start of the year was: by the end of the year: Stronger. Fitter. Healthier.

im doing it!!

Yes I’ve also considered having clothes taken in. Particularly my wardrobe of work dresses. I have a huge jumbo vacuum pack bag over half full with clothes that are now too big.

I think I will wait to the end of the year and see where I end up weight wise. And then go through that bag to identify clothes I want to keep…. Then find a seamstress who can do that project!!

I’ve already identified a Ralph Lauren suit and a Katherine Hooker 2 piece which need taking in. It’s quite a substantial take in though so I want to wait until I’m sure my weight is stable before I undertake that project. I wonder how much fabric will be left over!!

I had a few pairs of trousers when I started this journey, which needed shortening. They still have the labels on and are way too big for me now. Not sure how easy it would be to take them in. Might just list on vinted and find smaller trousers on there to fit.

im mostly buying in charity shops at the moment. I can’t afford to replace at full price with a smaller size and then risk having to do that again this year.

we shall see. Best of luck getting to the next milestone.

I hear you! That is absolutely my motivation too. I am older, and only have mother and MIL left, both in 80’s and terribly frail (especially the younger, more passive one).

Watching them over the years do zero exercise, have poor diets, and in one case completely disengage from social connection and community whilst and at the same time expecting all their ailments to be solved by someone else, has given me an iron resolve not to end up like that, or inflict it on my own DD.

I simply can’t afford to enter my 60’s overweight, weak and unfit. And how marvellous that now I won’t be!

WoolerOwl · 16/09/2025 14:31

Me too. I want to be stronger, fitter, more mobile, and better equipped to face “later middle age”. I look at my mil in her late seventies and even some colleagues in their fifties and sixties and can see what the path could look like. I want it to be different for me.

Generally my seamstress can take in about 2-3 sizes but it depends on the material and cut. As you say it can also get to the point where it's not always cost effective and Vinted is an easier option. And a good idea to wait until your weight is stable.

I had one pair of trousers that were huge on me but I loved the material so much she unpicked the hems and effectively made a new pair of trousers for me.
That's not the most cost effective option but I have a pair of perfectly fitting trousers in a material I adore.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 16/09/2025 15:08

Sorry forgot to hit send as I was in a meeting. Naturally conversation moved on 😂

Oddly my parents and step parents all look after themselves better than I have looked after myself. They have more discipline than me but it gives me something I know I can achieve. I quite like that.

PurpleCoo · 06/09/2025 14:46

@CoolLimeSheep Wow, you look amazing! What a transformation! Very well done

Yes totally agree about the clothes making you look bigger. I was determined not to put my hand in my pocket and 'waste' money on clothes that would be too big after 5 minutes, but I can't get over how much better I look in walking trousers that fit. My coats are now looking ridiculous (I do have a lot of different kinds because I am outdoors walking all year round). I just bought a size 12 light-mid weight long waterproof coat and I look so much better. Unfortunately this has triggered a spending spree and bought myself new Hokas, plus my frying pan is knackered and couldn't decide between the ninja ones and the Le Creuset cast iron skillet, and after a long discussion with foodie friends about the merits of different types of pans for different types of cooking got both (each are different sizes though), which reminded me my blender needs replacing so got the soup maker/blender from Ninja. My poor bank balance 🤦‍♀️🤣

The dresses are staying though. I tried all of them on yesterday, from size 12s to 16s and even the 16s still look good with wide belts.

I am a bit of a sucker for Ninja products as they have always been great for me. I have a Ninja foodi-can use as pressure cooker, slow cooker, large saucepan type cooker, air fryer and steamer. Then one of the double drawer air fryers. Plus a hot and cold blender which I use for soups and sauces all the time. Love being able to throw all the ingredients in, turn it on and come back in 30 mins to delicious fully cooked soup. I have the ninja pans and saucepans which I love. One of my daughters cooked some pasta in a pan and literally burnt it dry. I soaked it in water for a couple of hours and it all literally slipped off with no damage to the non stick- no idea how it works lol. Even have a ninja apron I got free with one of my orders.

I was close to 4 stone for ages but after a holiday and struggling to get a pen my weight losses stalled a bit. But finally today hit the full 4 stone loss yay. Some clothes I still love are so big and baggy now though.

sweetpickle2 · 17/09/2025 10:48

Having a very weird time of it at the moment, I think breaking my foot has sent me all out of whack.

I was due to jab on Monday, but I didn't, I just didn't want to. It's now Wednesday and I still haven't. I've been eating more than normal so I know I have to, I just feel weirdly over it all now? But I know I'm not coming off it yet, I have two pens in the fridge and I know I need to taper down.

I also know I don't want to pile the weight back on, but I just don't know why I'm feeling so ambivalent towards it all at the moment! Anyone else?

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 17/09/2025 11:22

@sweetpickle2 I felt like that just before I tapered down. I just didn't care for taking Mounjaro anymore.

Mounjaroday · 17/09/2025 19:54

Weighing-in to keep myself accountable!

SW 103.9kg
CW 71.5kg
Target 68kg! Very difficult!

@sweetpickle2 I feel the same. Feel ‘done’ with it all although I know I’m not. Have 4 jabs left then that is it.

Realise I have no winter clothes! And I am really COLD without my insulating chub! .. seem not to own any jumpers. Have no idea what I even wore last year.

Just bought some thermals as I’ve been shivering all day, and some velvet lined leggings too. There’s some gems I spied in tkmaxx that I’ll go back for tomorrow.

@sweetpickle2 I too keep going lightheaded. Have you had your b12 checked im on b12 injections from Feb this year my next one is due the 8th oct im so tired all time when its coming up and defo lightheaded a lot. I think I eat enough but last time I went they said im excercising too much for how much im eating but you said your not exercising as much since you broke foot so id go with having bloods done. Hope that helps 😀

Edited

Also low blood pressure can cause this, have definitely had the odd episode of feeling faint. My BP is now super low, almost too low and it is a known side effect of MJ… not sure what the solution is for me? Put all the weight back on and have high blood pressure?!?! Prior to weight loss it was on the higher side of normal.
