Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

I'm sorry Zibb- it really is a terrible situation all round. Hopefully come Sept 1st things won't be as bad as we think, and some of the larger pharmacies will be able to swallow some costs with the rebate schemes that are being touted.

I think for me as I'm now past my target, I'm going to use my last two pens to taper down over the next 3 or so months and see if I can go without them. My concern is now my BMI is (almost) at 25 I wouldn't be able to restart again if I changed my mind down the line, so maybe I'll change that opinion and stick on a very low maintenance dose as it doesn't look like those prices will be too bad. It's just all so unknown isn't it!

SkintSingleMumm · 19/08/2025 22:23

I agree with what youre saying, theres so many aches and pains ive not felt for the past few months. Today, i must have slept funny, and my arse cheek was aching like a sciatica achy pain. I used to have this constantly. Only lasted a few minutes on waking and getting up. That had vanished with MJ. My feet would swell in hot weather. Nothing these days. Crouching down used to hurt my thighs, now i can do that and stay there. I feel my brain is much more calm. Its a wonder drug and does much more than weightloss.

usedtobeaylis · 19/08/2025 22:51

My hair loss has definitely slowed in the last couple of weeks, I know some people have been struggling with this also. It's still falling out but at nowhere near the same rate which is a big relief, and I've got significant visible regrowth now all over my head. If that continues then it seems to be textbook telogen effluvium - started Mounjaro end of Feb, noticed hair loss around June and it definitely peaked throughout July when I was almost afraid to wash my hair. And now has slowed in August.

My second week on 8mg, only going up from 7.5mg, and since Sunday I've had a bit of an upset stomach and some minor burping and heartburn. I hate digestive side effects. Still no sign of my period either which I have no explanation for and so Mounjaro is getting the blame.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 19/08/2025 23:09

I'm angry at the UK pharmacies who could have seen this coming. It's been handled so badly.

On life after Mounjaro, I feel like the 6 months has reset my habits so far. I'm keeping alert to when I start thinking about food more too. Still haven't eaten any crisps - practically unheard of for me.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 20/08/2025 06:59

I feel overwhelmingly sad though. Emotions were definitely dulled on Mounjaro. I'm very tired too, and that's not helping. 😔

MrsHero · 20/08/2025 08:04

Argh, my MMP order was apparently sent on Mon night, and no sign of it - we go away tomorrow!

MynameisJune · 20/08/2025 08:17

Should probably turn up today, my pharmacy2u order had no tracking at all early Monday morning then all of a sudden it was on its way and delivered within a couple of hours.

When did you order from MMP? I ordered Friday lunch time and haven’t heard anything yet

MrsHero · 20/08/2025 08:40

Wednesday - but showed as Processing until Mon morning. I've never paid much attention before as wasn't on a deadline, so hopefully you are correct!

Mounjaronewbie25 · 20/08/2025 12:09

This weeks results

Highest weight - 16st 9.5
Mounjaro SW on 15.2.25 - 14st 12
CW - 11st

Loss this week: 1 lb
Total loss on Mounjaro: 54 lbs (3st 12)
Total loss overall: 79.5 lbs (5st 9.5)

Going away on holiday next Friday, we usually inject on a Saturday so will probably do it on the Friday morning before we go and just leave the pens at home. Only going for a week so should hopefully be ok!

usedtobeaylis · 20/08/2025 14:40

I missed my delivery yesterday and it's been delivered today. The pen doesn't feel particularly cool but neither does it feel particularly warm - will it be ok? It was well wrapped etc.

Also what do you do with the sharps bin when you want rid of it?

Edited

Your local pharmacy should be able to tell you where to dispose of your sharps bin.

I’ve had pens that came that weren’t particularly cold but not warm. They’ve been fine I just put them in the fridge straight away.

skyscrapersinging · 20/08/2025 15:30

@Mounjaronewbie25 I reckon you’ll be just fine. I did exactly that- jabbed a day early, to avoid holiday travel day, had a week away and then jabbed, so 9 days between. I ate and drank and had a lovely time and still lost weight!

Zibb · 20/08/2025 22:19

So I've always had trouble seeing my weight loss and any changes in my body. I feel like I look exactly the same 99% of the time.

Today though, I looked in a mirror that cut off my head. Could just see my body from the shoulders down and all of a sudden it was like "whoa, who is that?!" I could actually see how much I've lost.

It was so weird!

usedtobeaylis · 20/08/2025 22:22

Was it on this thread someone was talking about how before a whoosh you feel like you're all wobbly? I'm wondering if (or hoping) I've got this as I have been the polar opposite to Zibb today!

SkintSingleMumm · 20/08/2025 22:37

Omg went out for a catch up with some friends today- i was shocked at how much they were slagging WLI off! Talking about people they knew on it, how old they look now, how their hairs so thin, when they come off it- they will put it all straight back on, we dont know how its going to affect them long term blah blah blah. Ive not told anyone that im on it yet but i did say - for those people struggling with weight, its great for a kickstart to being healthy/healthy weight etc. crikey, a couple of them could actually do with taking it as well imo! 😁

sc0ttishlass · 21/08/2025 07:48

Hi all sorry for those that are feeling so low /concerned about what happens next. I ordered 10mg from med express (who ive been with most of the time) on tuesday and it arrived yesterday! I was planning on changing as its £195 which is too much for me but now wondering about ordering another this week before the first sept and that may be last pen ish..(I had looked at medicine marketplace as recommended here as it was only 130ish but was sold out when I went to order). Anyway..

Jab day yesterday.
Starting 13 stone 5
Current 9 stone 13.5
Now in healthy BMI.

Haven't been this weight in over 25 years. Really is a wonder drug. I feel so much better in so many ways. If I could id stay on it forever. Likewise im on sertraline and would also stay on that forever..

Happy Thursday warriors..and remember..drink lots of water! It really is a miracle product too 😀

Mounjaroday · 21/08/2025 13:06

@sc0ttishlass it always totally amazes me how much impact water has! Congrats on your achievement you must be thrilled 🎉

@SkintSingleMumm those comments from your friends defo reflect what a lot of people still think, sadly. My DSis had a go at me last week for “chasing perfection “ and “going about it the wrong way”. Oh dear. Not only am I not atoning appropriately for my sin of being gluttonous, I am now doubly sinful for being vain! 😂 It seems I cannot win. Well I can. By getting healthy and feeling bloody amazing, so there!

Btw have ordered 2months supply of Mounj through MedExpress with no issues at all and both very quickly delivered within 2 days.

How is everyone finding 'lying' about this? A lot of people I meet now say 'you've lost so much weight how did you do it' and i just say unfortunately exercise more and eat less ( which as we've said isn't really a lie!) I suppose I'm just assuming nobody believes me anf feel a bit awkward but also dont want to say.

MynameisJune · 21/08/2025 14:06

I’m very vague or just don’t elaborate. People will
likely think you’re on the jabs even if you’re not. My
mil commented yesterday ‘you’ve lost a lot of weight’ and I just answered ‘yeah’ and let the awkward silence stretch because we shouldn’t be commenting on people’s bodies anyway. Would they say ‘wow you’ve gained a lot of weight how did you do it’ unlikely!!

WoolerOwl · 21/08/2025 14:07

I get a few questions like that. Though it is interesting how few people do comment. I think it's just become less acceptable to comment on people's bodies.

I just tend to do anything other than answer the actual question, or answer only the actual question but offer no more.

For example,

Yeah, my doctor said I really needed to lose a bit of weight because of the knee pain I was having.
I've really changed what I eat, and when. I've found intermittent fasting really helpful.
I feel so much healthier on a lower carb, healthy fat, high protein diet.
I feel much better in myself with a lot less sugar/UPFs.
I've taken up exercise. Started couch to 5 k. It's hard work but I definitely feel better.
I'm just following what my GP said I needed to do.
I made some changes to what I eat and have found some exercise that works for me.
Thanks, I feel great.

I think that people know how to find out about ways of losing weight and they know that there are no magic wand tricks (whatever the misconceptions about WLIs) so they aren't really asking for your exact formula of how you did it, and you don't actually owe them any details at all. The key is not to feel the need to overshare or justify.

I dont feel bad at all, it's nobody else's business.
Interestingly I inadvertently found out that a close friend is on it too, I was invited to join a WhatsApp chat but saw she was on it before clicking join. I feel bad because I know about her but she doesn't know about me. She's not one of the judgy friends though so maybe I’ll confess!

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 21/08/2025 14:31

NSV today, i was in a teams meeting and notice something inside my t shirt, it was my collar bone 🤣 been a while since ive seen that.
Still going slow amd steady, and i still havent put any hope onto a magic number, im enjoying the feeling of being healthy and losing weight.

I think a lot of the time, those really slagging it off have their own, very deep rooted body issues. It's really quite sad 😔

usedtobeaylis · 21/08/2025 14:49

I haven't had to as nobody has really asked. Maybe if I EVER go down a dress size I'll need to think about what I say if anyone asks. At least it's not coming over as a sudden and dramatic weight loss.

Kind of NSV but I've had a silly crush on this woman at work for a while, just a very low key, low level crush that makes work more bearable really (I'm in my 40s ffs!). I think it's due to my weight loss but for some reason I feel a bit more confident in talking to her a little bit now. I mean I feel my face going hot and I cringe like absolute fuck at my inadequate patter afterwards but still 😂I think it's like a symbol of the new lease of life you can get with Mounjaro and weight loss. Not that long I felt far too awful about myself to even imagine that daft teenage feeling from talking to a crush. So it's not only about how far you can come but also how much obesity and food issues can stunt you and hold you back from normal life.

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck that is hilarious about the collarbone😂

PurpleCoo · 21/08/2025 17:22

I weighed in a day early today as off to Scotland on holiday.

So end of week 27, 3rd week of 6.25mg. This feels ideal as not very hungry, but manage to eat enough.

SW: 96.55kg
CW: 73.6kg
Sort of weekly loss (since Saturday) 0.95kg

This feels like a huge milestone as for probably around 25 years, my weight has fluctuated between 74-90kg, but had reached a new max of 96.55 prior to starting MJ. I am below 74kg which feels amazing. I feel, well, not quite slim, but almost for sure. I'm still carrying extra weight, so I need to continue. I'm evidently not aging with the weight loss. I mentioned to someone about going on holiday with my grandson, and she exclaimed OMG, how is that possible, what are you 40? Her shock when I said I am actually going to be 50 early next year, was nice as well as being told I look amazing. Hopefully the last 5kg or so doesn't age me overnight
