Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

Morning, warriors!

Weigh in day for me and I’ve reached 4 stone off! 🏆 1 Stone to go. Let’s hope I have the MJ to help me do it 😬

SW: 15.5
CW: 11.5
TL: 4 stone
GW: 10.5

Now wearing a 12-14, and it would be a 12 in most things if it wasn’t for the boobs. I hope they shrink a bit more. Nothing but a nuisance!

Have a great weekend, all! 💐

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 16/08/2025 11:24

Updating my comment as I posted this a couple of days ago in response to the price hike conversation. On it's own it looks a bit strange 🤣

I use My Pharmacy Planet and you can order starter or continuation packs with 2 or 3 pens in each if anyone is able to order through them.

usedtobeaylis · 16/08/2025 11:47

I accidentally ordered 3 pens yesterday - I ordered one from pharmacy2u because they were cheapest and then forgot all about it, then last night ordered two from my current provider after wangling space on a credit card. Because I've been taking lower doses but keeping ordering up a dose on the pens (I recommend this to everyone I can but it was very dependent on discounts and price matching), I currently have a 10mg and 12.5mg in the fridge. If I can get just one of the pens I ordered at 15mg and commit to staying on 8mg come hell or high water (hunger and compulsions I guess), that will take me up to Christmas. So my vague plan at the moment is, even if the price rises aren't as bad as feared, that I will think about either trying to start tapering down around November, and/or to go longer between injections. The problem is that I wouldn't be able to get another pen at Christmas if I felt I needed one as I wouldn't have bought since August. So I need to really think carefully about this as I won't lie, I'm feeling some palpitations at the thought of having to go it alone before I'm ready. I don't want to go back to being Miserable Mum. I actually don't know if Mounjaro itself is somehow improving my general mood or if it's the weight loss and exercise and better nutrition and feeling better in general. Thinking about the other things it helps with eg alcohol, gambling etc - has it actually been responsible for decreasing anxiety and ruminations?

Also has anyone experienced changes to their menstrual cycle? My periods have been shorter and lighter which is great but my cycle has randomly lengthened this month. I was definitely feeling premenstrual in weigh day last Sunday and would have expected my period on Monday or Tuesday but it's yet to put in an appearance which is highly, highly unusual. I am a bit stressed with work so can put it down to that but I'm wondering if there's anyone else experiencing the same.

MynameisJune · 16/08/2025 11:59

After speaking with DH yesterday I ordered another pen from medicine market place as that will take me up to November and getting it at a guaranteed price seems sensible if we can.

I’ll probably order one in September from somewhere offering maintenance maybe oushk depending on price and then hopefully if I’m on a maintenance plan I can order September and then maybe nov/dec time but I need to look into this more.

I did my first 10 on Monday and weighing myself today I’ve lost 3lb in 5 days which is insane. I’ve also had a low level headache all week. I’ll see how I go on 10 this week but if the weight loss is too fast I’ll drop back down to 7.5mg.

I’m only 10lb away from TW now, which hopefully I’ll get to within the next couple of months and then can taper down onto maintenance for a bit. If I can order a pen every other month and do 4 weeks on 4 off for a while until I feel ready to go it alone then I think I can manage the new pricing.

But you know what they say about best laid plans!

MynameisJune · 16/08/2025 12:02

@usedtobeaylis my cycle has become regular again on MJ. It’s been irregular and short for most of my adult life since coming off contraception at 23. Now it’s 27/28 days like clockwork which is crazy to me.

CoolLimeSheep · 16/08/2025 12:04

@usedtobeaylis yep my periods keep going regular then messing up currently 9 days late and negative pregnancy test 🙃.
Well done on your weightloss victory's today
Ive posted on my facebook this to mark a year on mj and for me also a journey of self discovery on this journey. I have had lots of positivity which is good as I know alot of you on here haven't which I feel is a real shame
Keep going everyone

Well done @SpiralSister that's an amazing weight loss milestone!

I have had yet another STS. I've taken to looking at my weight previously and it's seems I have lost about a kg in one month, and 2.5kg in 2 months, so I am going very slowly now. I did have a salty meal late on Thursday evening (I usually have a very low salt diet), plus it's been super hot again, additionally I have increased my weights this week, so there could be a bit of water retention. Although a little voice wonders if I am just making excuses. It feels like the dose (6.25) is working well when I consider what I am eating. It feels neither too little nor too much and no side effects. Its quite effortless to eat healthily and just the right amount. So you'd think this Goldilocks situation might equate to some movement on the scales.

Regardless, it's still a 22kg weight loss overall, and I think I might be going through body recomp, as I definitely feel a lot smaller than the tiny amount of weight loss would suggest. I have just bought some new bras in a 34E. I started out as a 38F, which when you factor in the back changes is the equivalent of dropping 3 cup sizes. I feel like I have tiny boobs now, and the bras look so small! Being just an E cup means the bras are so much cheaper which is a bonus. It's nice to not pay the big boob tax!!

@MynameisJune I don't really understand the science behind Mounjaro but it seems like it fixes something in our bodies that has so many knock-on effects. Especially for women.

There’s always been a body of thought that the gut is almost as important to the brain for health and I wonder if the changes to digestion help gut health which in turn helps heal other ailments. So far for me MJ is a miracle drug.

Zibb · 16/08/2025 20:10

I've started taking probiotics and drinking kefir and kombucha. MJ causes really low mood for me but since starting the probiotics and the ferments I've noticed an improvement in mood. No idea if it's actually related but I'm gonna stick with it.

usedtobeaylis · 17/08/2025 11:02

W26 day 1
Week 3 on 8mg

SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 13st 1lb
Loss this week: 0
Total loss: 3st 4lb

So nothing off this week which is absolutely fine since it's been so hot and my period still hasn't put in an appearance. When I first stepped on the calendar it said 3lb ON and I was fine with that for those reasons but then I decided to try again and gave the underneath of the scales a wipe over. I feel a bit bloated which is an unusual feeling these days.

usedtobeaylis · 17/08/2025 11:03

Stopped on the scale, not calendar 😆

Ke11 · 17/08/2025 11:30

Just checking in for this week, finally got below 80kg, weighed in at 79.9 this morning, down 36.6kg. I'm sure it'll fluctuate through the week as usual but that's good enough for me to order the new peak design backpack that I set as my 80kg reward.

Next goal for me is 72.1 kg which gets me just into a healthy bmi of 24.5. Ultimately I'd still like to get to 65kg to be right in the middle of healthy bmi but I'll definitely evaluate that more when I get to 72 and see if it's realistic and practical since the last this I want to do is be miserable and surviving off 800 calories that's not sustainable for me. I think I might start by trying to maintain at 70kg and give it a couple of months for me to get into a routine etc.

NSV for me this week is that I can put my over ear headphones round my neck when I'm not using them and I don't feel like I'm choking myself.

I do feel awful for those in this group that are being priced out by the changes announced, I hope you'll stay and keep posting though, good or bad, I'm sure we can all support each other still. This place has been a real lifeline for me since I don't know anyone personally that's doing this. It's so helpful to read the everyday stuff that were all dealing with and know that it's not just me thinking/being this way, that I'm not "lazy".

I'm mostly staying out of the discussions since I'm aware of how lucky I am that I can still afford this even with the price hike, I just hope they don't think about doing it again in future.

WoolerOwl · 17/08/2025 14:13

Week 25 jab just taken: 9mg, which included a little bit of the golden dose to top it up higher than the 7.5. I will go up to 10 next week

Monthly weigh in next week but I can already feel my clothes are looser again. Definitely mostly size 12, and smaller size 14 is pleasantly loose. Had to throw lots of old pyjamas away in the latest phase of my clothes clear out, as they were falling down around my ankles! It’s also quite a shock when trying on trousers with a waist drawstring that I haven’t worn since before starting MJ, to notice where the knot in the drawstring was. I’ve clearly lost about 10cm off my waist!

MynameisJune · 17/08/2025 14:43

I did my measurements for the first time in a while the other day. I keep a section in my notes on my phone. Last year in June my waist was 92cm now it’s 78cm, so 14cm since then.

usedtobeaylis · 17/08/2025 14:45

I just had to take an updated photo for my order and they asked for one from before I started the treatment due to the switch in supplier. I actually didn't think I had any full length ones but I found the very first one I ever uploaded to order Mounjaro and I can't believe how much fat I've lost from my stomach. Between that and the fat lost from my back I can kind of understand why my dress size hasn't yet changed. I actually look vastly more in proportion than I did 6 months ago. I wonder if now it will be a slower losing of fat all over and this where I'll start to see the size change.

Just on the price increase. Is there anything stoping me ordering lets say x3 pens now at todays price? Do these register somewhere and would anyone know and say no its one pen at a time?!

No, you can buy a few at a time. Some pharmacies offer bundles. You can also just order from multiple pharmacies at once. On other threads I've seen people saying they've been stockpiling for months. Multiple people with 10+ pens and more on the way.

The only problem you might have now is that most pharmacies aren’t accepting orders from new customers due to increased demand. They’ve also stopped most of the discount codes.

But if you can wait until mid next week things will probably start to settle down and ordering will re-open.

sweetpickle2 · 17/08/2025 19:20

My provider (WePrescribe) have already hiked their prices, so I won’t be able to order my next pen from them- but not sure I’ll be able to switch suppliers at the moment either. I’ll need a new pen in the next week or I’m going cold turkey! Feeling very disappointed with how it’s all been handled.

It’s such a shame so many pharmacies have upped their prices and that so many people panic bought so much too.

What are people's favourite foods to eat on Mounjaro? I went off tuna but have tried it with greek yogurt instead of mayo for the first time and while it's edible it's pretty tastleless. I need some new ideas!

SpiralSister · 17/08/2025 20:30

Greek yogurt for sure! Spelt. Roasted veg. Feta. Really nice cottage cheese. Grapes. Nuts and seeds.

Who even am I? 😂

I'm eating things like chia pudding and seem to be adding black beans and sweet potato to everything.

Greek yogurt with everything!

WoolerOwl · 17/08/2025 22:00

Protein yogurts, peanut butter, blueberries.
Porridge, banana, nuts
Scrambled eggs, cheese, avocado, tomatoes
Tinned sardine and boiled egg salad
Purition chocolate nut smoothie made with kefir and frozen berries
Purition bars and a piece of fruit (if travelling, eg with work)
Fruit (berries) and Greek yogurt or Skyr, plus nut butter

And then lots of regular main meals, such as homecooked stews, curries, chillis, dhals, bolognese, fajitas, roast chicken, but with more beans and pulses added in as well as chicken or lean beef, and then served with half a plate of veg or salad and a very small portion of carbs. Also burgers with lots of salad and just half a bread roll.

I don’t worry about fat content as long as it’s home cooked. But I have massively reduced my carb consumption so I have only small amounts of potato, rice, pasta, and bread.

If eating out, steak and salad, or chicken Caesar salad but leaving half the croutons. If catered food, half a plate of salad and veg and a portion of whatever sensible protein is on offer.

I feel like I get stuck in a rut sometimes, so keen to hear new ideas.
