I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

QQ for those who are at or near target please: can you still get mounjaro when your BMI is less than 27? Or even 25? When do you get cut off? Thanks

tostaky · 01/08/2025 18:28

@SutekhsEars i think a few companies like Oushk do maintenance but i am not there yet!

Not very happy as my scales oscillate between 87.9 and 88 but then give me a final reading of 88.3!! I even took my socks off to see if it made a difference but no… so i have put on 0.3kg… nothing to worry about especially i am due early next week but still….
then it was jab time… i took my brand new pen, did the clicks and started to inject but somehow it jammed! I tried to see if i could un-jam it and stabbed myself again for nothing…. I had to use a syringe i keep for the golden dose… i have no idea how much went in with the first jab before it jammed so i was conservative and did a bit less than my usual dose… nothing is going right i feel…

Happy weekend everyone! I’m week one on 7.5mg so I’ll update next week on how it goes. I’ve done two months on 5mg which has gone well but it had definitely stalled at the end two weeks of less than 1pound loss. I’ve now lost 25 pounds in 13 weeks which I feel is amazing much better than I have ever managed before. I’m resolved in keeping going until I get to my goal and I’m 53% of the way there.
one not so great thing this week, I met some friends in the pub I’d not seen for a while, one of them knew about the MJ but the others didn’t. She then proceeded to ‘out’ me in front of them. I was going to tell them but surely that was my choice? Then proceeded to be really nasty about it saying how it was sooo easy and basically jab and the weight falls off you don’t have to do anything. (Bit of background) she tried to get the jabs and couldn’t because she wasn’t quite big enough her bmi was just under 30.

The other girls were raving about how amazing I looked and how fantastic it all was and she was literally FUMING.
I can only think jealousy but I was was so shocked she has been one of my closest friends but I’m honestly thinking of cutting the cord I’m so upset. I mean we are all ‘middle aged’ surely she doesn’t have to behave this way.

im so glad for this group it’s so supportive and keeping it real with all the ups and downs and struggles as we launch into our new selves !
anyone else had negative reactions?

Keep going team May onwards and downwards ! !

Gingercar · 02/08/2025 08:54

That’s really horrible @PinkScot, I’d have been really upset. I haven’t told a lot of people yet. It’s strange how people feel they can be rude in their comments about someone on MJ. I think you should possibly say to the friend that outed you that you are upset that she told people something personal about you without asking, and tell the nasty friend she really hurt you with her incorrect information and friends shouldn’t treat each other like that. Tell her you have worked really hard at your diet and exercise, and that the MJ just supports you. And tell her you dont want to hear any more of her nonsense. And if she can’t do that, she’s not worth it. I think you’re right, it’s probably jealousy. You’ve done really well. Be proud.

Seahorsesplendour · 02/08/2025 09:17

@PinkScot i’m sorry it must have been horrible having that happen during a meal out with friends! @Gingercar is right you’ve got everything to be proud of don’t let ignorance/jealousy steal that from you!!

I'm off on hols this morning! Really stressful busy week so food choices were not great and no exercise which I have really missed despite being fairly new to it!!

I have not weighed as feel bloated & don’t want to know what I’ve gained! Had a fuck it moment yesterday when my brain said just don’t jab this week then you can eat & drink what you want while away!

appreciate this works for some people but it felt too much like my classic self sabotage for me … when something is working stop doing it… so I jabbed a day early so I couldn’t talk myself out of it!!!

we’ll see what the week brings but either way it’ll be so lovely to be with family and by the sea!!!! I can’t wait!!! Just need to finish packing and off we head!!!!

FlorenceNightshade · 02/08/2025 09:23

Aww @PinkScot your friend was totally out of order and definitely sounds jealous. Did you call her out at the time? If not I’d message her saying how disappointed you are with her choice to break your confidence like that and tell her you need some time re-evaluate your friendship. A true friend would be disgusted with their behaviour so would be interesting to see her response.

It’s shit though when people let you down like that especially when you’ve trusted them! The only person I’ve told is my Husband, if a close friend asked I wouldn’t lie but I don’t feel the need to tell people. Everyone is different this is just how I feel.

Happy holidays @Seahorsesplendour!

Morning campers! Well done losers all losers!

@PinkScot thats so wrong - to share something told in confidence without permission would be such a red flag from a good friend for me. You’re 100% allowed to feel angry and upset. It does sound like jealousy but that’s no excuse for letting you down. So glad your other mates were supportive!

@Seahorsesplendour enjoy the holidays! Have a ball and enjoy the sea!

@SutekhsEars I was originally with Asda then tried to switch to Zava, but they wouldn’t let me as my bmi was just below 27. So then I went to oushk, and then I’m now with Lotus. Both Lotus and Oushk support maintenance (I’m not at maintenance yet and still over 25) but Lotus is so quick at dispatching (next day from ordering in my experience) and very straightforward which I really like.

This week I’ve definitely had more food noise but period also due and I wonder how much my hormones and overriding the mj…..

ElsieJay · 02/08/2025 10:36

Not weight-related, but for my fellow crazy cat ladies - Milo is home ! 🐈 🏡
He’d been locked in a neighbour’s workshop , she makes candles and (thank goodness) needed to check something in the shed before going away for a month 🙏 .
DD reports he’s ravenous, thirsty, slimmer and has lumps of candle wax in his fur- but what a relief ! 😅

ElsieJay · 02/08/2025 10:38

The wanderer….🙏🙏

SaintAgatha · 02/08/2025 10:47

@PinkScot I’m so sorry you experienced that. It’s one of the reasons why the only person who knows I’m doing MJ is my best friend who’s also doing it. When people have asked me about my weight loss I’ve simply said I’m focusing on my health - which I am. I don’t blame you for wanting to reevaluate the friendship, and a PP has written what I think is a very measured potential text for you to send to her.

Onwards and downwards! 👇

Gingercar · 02/08/2025 10:49

Aww @ElsieJay thats fantastic news! Thank goodness he got out.

SutekhsEars · 02/08/2025 11:07

Great news @ElsieJay ! So pleased he got out before your neighbour went away - it doesn't bear thinking about!
Sorry your 'friend' is a wanker @PinkScot . Hopefully she'll apologise.
I've lost 10% of my bodyweight in 11 weeks. Not the fastest loser, but I'm happy enough with that.

Foreveronaplane · 02/08/2025 11:10

Just catching up post hols. Hard to keep up with all the news!
@ElsieJaywonderful news and such a relief.
@PinkScot your friend was completely out of order - she probably knows this too. It was very mean spirited -lots of great advice from others on the thread on how to approach her on it. Ignore her negativity and be proud of your achievements. MJ is an aid, but it’s your hard work that has enabled your weight loss, it’s not a simple fix. Onwards and downwards!

PandaIsMySpiritAnimal · 02/08/2025 11:37

I took my progress pictures today after 3 months. I'm about 12.5 kg down/just short of 2 st and I didn't really think my shape has changed as much (I can feel a tiny bit difference in my clothes, but not massive)...but oh my gosh, seeing the pictures really opened my eyes...made me so happy and I still can't believe this medicine exists. Can't wait for what another 3 months will bring.

@PinkScot sorry to hear that your friend was so unsupportive. Definitely jealousy. But great that the others were so enthusiastic about your loss

FlorenceNightshade · 02/08/2025 13:09

Wow well done @PandaIsMySpiritAnimal on your near 2 stone loss and also @SutekhsEars on becoming 10% off!! 👏

Aww @ElsieJay you must be so relieved! They have no idea what they put us through do they????

Yesterday a friend came with her toddler to my cafe. I picked him up for a cuddle and he was so heavy. I couldn’t carry him for long. I asked what he weighed- two stone, which is around what I’ve lost so far. And according to my new app “my weight” I’ve got 75% more to lose, so I’ve been carrying four hefty toddlers around! This app plots my weight loss, and estimates that I’ll be there by February if I keep this pace up (2,4lbs/week average, which I doubt will continue, but it’s a nice thought for in the bleak midwinter!)

PinkScot · 03/08/2025 07:23

Thanks for all your lovely responses to my friend issue. This group is amazing! Welll done @PandaIsMySpiritAnimal amazing shape change! I saw my friends again yesterday and she confessed she has been going through a really rough time with non related stuff, not an excuse but I think she was just feeling really crap and grumpy, so I’ve decided to forgive and move on, she let me talk about it a bit without commenting so that was good enough, but I will remember how she was if she does it again. Everyone else was sooo uber supportive so I can’t complain too much. Have a lovely Sunday everyone I’m just day two of 7,5 and really feeling it it’s kicking my butt, so a lazy Sunday is on the cards.

dc82 · 03/08/2025 09:44

Fab news @ElsieJay!

Amazing pics @PandaIsMySpiritAnimal! Sometimes it’s hard to realise the loss.

Weigh in day for me today and I’ve stayed the same. Stuck to my deficit all week despite more food noise but no movement. Might take this as a sign to go from 3.75 to the 5 today. Shall muse on it for the next hour or so. I sadly need to cut the grass - hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

SutekhsEars · 03/08/2025 10:19

Morning all! Hope everyone has a chilled Sunday.

In weightloss-adjacent news, I have started Project 333. If you haven't heard of it, you pick out 33 items of clothing and stick to just those for 3 months. Then you choose 33 items again for the next 3 months. I thought I'd be really struggling with 33 items, but actually, it's loads, especially at this time of year. And it's much easier trying to find things that go together, if you only have a few things in your wardrobe. The only difficulty I'm finding is working out where to store the mountain of other clothes I'm keeping, 'just in case'.
I'm doing a lite version, so I probably won't wait 3 months to swap my clothes round. But it's handy that everything in my wardrobe fits me now.
I'd recommend it if anyone needs to sort through clothes that no longer fit them.

GeraniumRoseblush · 03/08/2025 11:11

Hi everyone 👋 haven't checked in for a while but have been reading - there have been some amazing losses and NSVs, well done losers! 🎉

@PandaIsMySpiritAnimal fantastic progress pics!

Losses continue at a glacial pace for me, so after 13 weeks, I've lost 1st 4:
SW 11st 12
CW 10st 8

Apparently that's 10.8% so maybe not too bad? I'm bored of tracking food and wondering if I should have a break from that for a few weeks. I want to come off the jabs soon-ish so maybe it's a good test for life after MJ? Has anyone tracked and then not tracked, and did bad habits creep in?

Gingercar · 03/08/2025 11:16

I don’t count calories, I haven’t since I started MJ. I’ve just eaten healthy food and roughly followed the balanced plate. I’m veggie. It’s worked really well for me.

You could try not tracking. Go off what you’ve been doing and focus on feeling full?

GeraniumRoseblush · 03/08/2025 13:18

Thanks @Gingercar yes good point re tuning into feeling full, rather than how much protein, fat etc I should be eating each day.

chergar · 03/08/2025 15:19

Weekly check in
lost 0.4lb this week, not much but still a loss.
No SE this week.
i bought a top two sizes smaller than usual and it fits well, also moved down two holes on a belt and strangely a pair of ankle boots that were too tight and crippling me now fit fine. So scales might not have moved much but definitely noticing changes.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 03/08/2025 16:51

@SutekhsEars I feel a bit embarrassed to say this, but I don't have 33 items of clothing that fit me unless I include pyjamas. I finally caved and bought clothes in November last year, but they were mostly dresses etc for a holiday.
I've been on vinted this afternoon and have ordered some tops. I've also finally ordered a bridesmaids dress for my mum's wedding, I'm hoping it fits.
