Well I did an extra shift yesterday on a unit I used to work but haven’t been at for a few months. I had someone ask me (privately!) if I’d been ill and multiple others comment on how loose my uniform looked. NHS Scotland have unisex tunics for staff and I’ve always been a Large in part because I’m tall but mostly because I’ve been a size 14-16 for most of my adult life!
On a whim I tried on a small and it fitted! My trousers have always been a medium so I was issued some small ones which I can get into but are a bit too tight when sitting down. So I’ll be wearing a new small top and my old medium trousers for a while.
On the back of this today I headed into town to try on new jeans, I have a pair of 16 skinny New Look ones that are now a bit baggy around the knees and some 14s from Next that are now a bit loose.
How the actual fuck is anyone supposed to know what size they are?? In Next I got on a pair of 10s in one style but not 12s in two different styles. All the new look 12s were a bit too tight but the 14s too big. And river island the 12s fit but the cut was weird on me.
I ended up with a new pair of gym leggings from Primark in a medium! No wonder people get so upset about sizing! It’s a nice problem to have but I’ve always been able to find jeans that fit! I guess I’m in between sizes or something at the moment. Anyone got any shopping tips??!
I’ll have to hope the next loss comes from my hips as I’m sure that’s what’s the problem! Maybe need to increase my walking and cycling for a while too to try and even myself out! I think my goal now will be to get myself to a standard UK dress size to make my shopping easier but it was stressful 🙃
