I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

@DidILeaveTheGasOn I also usually have a little bit left on my skin after injecting. It doesn't seem to make much difference- i find the hunger fluctuates anyway.

Gingercar · 30/07/2025 10:55

I’d wait it out. Sometimes it’s good to fight the hunger a bit yourself. It gives you confidence that you can do it yourself.

Last night we tried to do a 6mg golden dose with an insulin needle. My husband does my jabs. But the needle bent and he lost a mg, so ended up extracting that with another needle and I ended up with 5mg again! Not that it matters, I got a 5mg pen again anyway. But I’m wondering about getting a 7.5mg pen and doing 5 x 6mg to eke it out a bit as am a little skint (got a £600 vets bill to pay).

I think I'm going to sort through my clothes this weekend. I'll be child-free so it will be a nice distraction. My wardrobe is rammed full of all sorts of things that probably don't fit.

It's weird no mans land at the moment isn't it? I've got some clothes now that are definitely too big and others that are OK ish.

I have bought a few tops in the sales but am so hesitant to buy much as firstly it's odd not knowing what size I am and secondly I have quite a few more stones to lose so I don't want to keep buying clothes in lower and lower sizes until I settle a bit more at the destination weight.

I am amazed that I have purchased various tops in size 16 that fit, accepting that one is still a bit tight. It is going to be incredible going into shops up my high street and browsing the rails in the future.

VashtaNerada · 30/07/2025 13:44

My wardrobe has clothes from size 12 to size 22 so I should be good for a while yet (albeit slightly retro as my body shape sends my fashion sense back in time 😁)

Gingercar · 30/07/2025 14:19

I’m struggling with clothes. I was wearing size 18 at the start with an occasional 20 when I couldn’t cram myself into an 18. But I was probably a 20. Now my 20s are falling down. My 18s are comfortable, some literally fall down after a days wear (I think many jeans are slightly elastic nowadays). But others are perfect. I have one pair of size 18 trousers that won’t even go over my backside. I’d have sworn they were 16 or smaller, but nope! And I’ve thrown LOADS of smaller clothes away over the last year as we are moving house, and I didn’t think I’d succeed in losing weight as I haven’t for the last decade. Plus finances are tight, so I also don’t want to be buying clothes for a couple of months.
Im almost two stone down, I’m hoping to be three stone down by autumn - so perhaps I can treat myself to a few winter outfits by then. I’m also crossing my fingers that the house may be sold by then too, so we won’t be so broke (currently have two sets of bills and council tax).

SignedUpAgain · 30/07/2025 17:43

Just done one week on 7.5mg

Disappointed with suppression as it kinda disappeared.

Side effects not so bad either.

Dont think I've lost anything. Weight in is tomorrow.

This will be first week after 12 weeks of slow results. Disappointed.

SutekhsEars · 30/07/2025 18:44

Flippin Medexpress (who I've been with since May) sent me a discount code, then decided to randomly withdraw it before the deadline! <Grumps off to the referral thread to find a code.>

Seahorsesplendour · 30/07/2025 20:03

Evening all! I’m noticing with me my suppression levels still seem to fluctuate in line with my hormones and are definitely affected by stress, generally all the things that used to drive me to eat & drink still try to do it!!

It is easier to resist though and if I do indulge I can stop a lot quicker!

not having a good week this week with uni deadline, work stress & holiday packing!!!

break up tomorrow and still so much left to do!!!

it’s going to be a long night & day!!!

having had 10 days Pepsi max free have had 3 cans today!!!! I can confirm it has driven up my sweet cravings!!! 🙈 or maybe that’s the stress who knows!!!

roll On Saturday for holiday but also for next jab!!!!!!! 😂

Seahorsesplendour · 30/07/2025 20:06

Oh and also struggling with fit of thing all of a sudden! My main problem is pyjamas, suddenly the waist bands are all either riding up or falling down!! My summer onsie which is a solid old favourite keeps getting all twisted & annoying me!!!

sorry - apparently needed to let out a lot of whinge tonight!!! 🙈

tostaky · 30/07/2025 21:33

This thread moves fast! It is lovely to hear about pyjama falling down, old clothes being resurrected and having nothing to wear because everything is too…baggy!

i have a few new (old) things to wear and it is great but i definitely need to buy new clothes! Im getting rid of all my “hiding” clothes at the moment and i am SO pleased.

work is a bit of a nightmare but im off for a month (with some study leave thrown in) ao it is going to be nice, not having to commute, not having to be worried about office politics…

DS makes the most amazing “ice cream” - uou do need a blender though. Mix 1 egg white, a teaspoon if sugar and lots of frozen fruits (without pips work better). Blend and enjoy! It is fluffy, fat free and almost sugar free… a delight! He sometimes makes it with protein powder instead of egg white and although it is a tiny bit less fluffy, it is still delicious!

no nsv at the moment, im not weighting myself either because i know i will feel disappointed!!
debating what to do for upcoming holidays… i’ll probably leave the jab at home as i cant face the faff of taking it

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 30/07/2025 22:53

I’ve had an SV today. 9 stone 13.6!!!!!! Not seen a 9 on the scales since about 2006 so I am bloody delighted.
also a NSV in that I have developed some nice definition in my chest and collarbone.
I have ordered a size 10 pair of jeans (off Vinted - bloody love vinted and it’s technically recycling so nice and guilt free!) because all the size 12’s I got to replace the 14’s are starting to feel loose. I’m possibly premature with this order mind.
@tostakythe ice cream sounds delicious!

Fedupoftheshits · 31/07/2025 08:30

Morning all, just found the new thread! How is everyone?

Week 10 update - I’ve had a 2lb loss this week, got one more jab next week before I go on holiday so fully expecting to gain when I get back as we are going all inclusive, although don’t think I’ll be able to eat as much as previous years! It’s weird as I don’t really feel like I’ve lost weight and no one has noticed but my clothes are very loose now!

SW: 13st 7lb
W1: -4lb
W2: -3lb
W3: -2lb
W4: -3lb
W5: -2lb
W6: -2lb
W7: stayed the same
W8: -3lb
W9: -2lb
W10: -2lb
CW: 11st 12lb
Dosage: 2.5mg

FlorenceNightshade · 31/07/2025 13:49

Well I did an extra shift yesterday on a unit I used to work but haven’t been at for a few months. I had someone ask me (privately!) if I’d been ill and multiple others comment on how loose my uniform looked. NHS Scotland have unisex tunics for staff and I’ve always been a Large in part because I’m tall but mostly because I’ve been a size 14-16 for most of my adult life!

On a whim I tried on a small and it fitted! My trousers have always been a medium so I was issued some small ones which I can get into but are a bit too tight when sitting down. So I’ll be wearing a new small top and my old medium trousers for a while.

On the back of this today I headed into town to try on new jeans, I have a pair of 16 skinny New Look ones that are now a bit baggy around the knees and some 14s from Next that are now a bit loose.

How the actual fuck is anyone supposed to know what size they are?? In Next I got on a pair of 10s in one style but not 12s in two different styles. All the new look 12s were a bit too tight but the 14s too big. And river island the 12s fit but the cut was weird on me.

I ended up with a new pair of gym leggings from Primark in a medium! No wonder people get so upset about sizing! It’s a nice problem to have but I’ve always been able to find jeans that fit! I guess I’m in between sizes or something at the moment. Anyone got any shopping tips??!

I’ll have to hope the next loss comes from my hips as I’m sure that’s what’s the problem! Maybe need to increase my walking and cycling for a while too to try and even myself out! I think my goal now will be to get myself to a standard UK dress size to make my shopping easier but it was stressful 🙃

Gingercar · 31/07/2025 13:55

I agree. Sizes are so different in different places. It must be so much easier for men who just go off measurements!

MyScaredCat · 31/07/2025 13:59

Sizes are a nightmare.
i went to buy jeans recently in next and a 14 in one style were perfect, and I couldn’t get the 16 over in hips in another style.
went sale shopping in river island before I went on my hols and bought things in 12, 14, 16 and L and they all fit 🤷‍♀️
it’s madness

SussexLass87 · 31/07/2025 14:48

Argh I agree. Sizing is absolutely bonkers and so unpredictable. I just tried on a 14 dress from Vinted...it doesn't quite fit. That's okay. But I have the same dress in a 16 and it is dangerously big (i.e my boobs are about to pop out)...make it make sense!!

And jeans shopping?! It is the absolute worst.

I've really appreciated M&S naming their different jeans...I can just about cope with looking for jeans that way 🤣

Gingefringe · 31/07/2025 15:51

Hello fellow May starters. I’m 2st down since 1st May and have stayed on 2.5 dose from the start. Had a great NSV today - I ordered a jacket from Seasalt in size 16 some months ago but returned it as it looked awful as it just didn’t suit my fat shape. Today I bought it half price in the sales in size 12 and it looks great - so a double win. X

Gingercar · 31/07/2025 16:04

That’s fabulous! You must feel great.

gettingalife · 31/07/2025 16:16

Hi all, great to hear all of your svs and nsvs! I’ve just finished week 13 and remain on 5mg, having lost one and a half stone which I’m thrilled about. Couple of questions though:

  1. My already thin hair has got even thinner which I’m scared about. Anyone else? Any tips? Will it thicken again?
  2. I injected today and as I removed the needle it squirted a good amount of liquid. Never had this before. Does this mean my suppression will be poor this week? Thank you to anyone who can advise and settle my worried brain!
Apprenante · 31/07/2025 16:22

@GettingALife I think several of us have noticed some liquid around the injection site. So long as it's a drop rather than a puddle I'd guess you're OK.

In other news ... an NSV today I think. Currently wearing an M&S 40DD bra, just bought two new bras - 36F. Please don't tell me that 36F is the same as 40DD. I don't understand cup/band sizes but currently I'm feeling 😃

SutekhsEars · 31/07/2025 17:52

Just ordered a 5mg pen. I'll probably take about 3mg I think. My weight has been about the same all through July, so definitely time to move up

GherkinsOnToast · 31/07/2025 18:00

I had another wobble about not losing actual lbs but feeling trimmer, my PT at the gym asked today if I was working out more so I whinged about not losing lbs but feeling smaller and she reminded me that a lb of fat takes up more space than an a lb of muscle. So I may well have lost fat but built muscle to the same weight but not the same volume, hence trimmer but not lighter! This may help some of those who feel they are working out, in calorie deficit but weight isn't moving much.

FlorenceNightshade · 31/07/2025 19:21

@GherkinsOnToast Trimmer not Lighter!! Love that!

Just caught up and really enjoyed reading all your updates.

Congratulations to everyone on your SV/NSV, and hugs to those who are finding things more challenging.

@PandaIsMySpiritAnimal what an incredible thing to do for your family, I found that so touching to read.

A few of you have mentioned Vinted. I only discovered it the other day and have been selling some of my clothes that are too big. But I have spent far more than I’ve made so far; the dopamine of the ‘buy now’ is irresistible! Some amazing bargains but it does add up…!

I have lost 8kg since June 4th (an interloper!) and I am struggling a bit with eating due to boredom (school holidays but my kids are away with their dad) but it’s nothing compared to pre-MJ days.
