I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

I haven't posted my progress for the past two weeks - with everything going on with the price rise it didn't seem pertinent. Posting now though for accountability.

Week 15 lost 1kg
Week 16 lost 0.4kg
Total loss now 21.5kg (3st 5.5lb / 47.5lb)

I was disappointed with my 0.4kg loss last week but I'm focusing on the bigger picture of over 3st lost already. I've started going to the gym x3 weekly so perhaps I've gained some muscle. I do well with protein but could increase my water intake so I'm going to do better with that this week.

Huge NSV - I sat on the floor!!!!! First time in ages (last time it was about 9 months ago I think, and even before that was many months). Back then it was tricky getting down and then I had to summon all my strength to get back up. Don't get me wrong, this week was still a struggle but I did it, and it was easier than before. Now I need to practice 🤣 At the gym I have to have alternative exercises because I can't do the floor ones, so my goal by the end of the year is to be able to get up and down like a 'normal' person. Once I can do that I will be able to try yoga or pilates, which is impossible at the moment.

Second NSV - I went swimming for the first time in about 25 years. I found a swimming costume with a non-flouncy skirt (like a tennis dress) that skims over my belly bulge and hides the top of my thighs. I had to give myself a big talking to in front of the mirror to get up the courage to go though. I was very self conscious getting in and out of the pool, but I just took a deep depth and tried to do it as quickly as possible (as quickly as the penguin walk we all do on a slippery floor would let me!). Eventually I'm sure I'll get more confident the more I do it and the more weight I lose. I try to remember that everybody had body hang ups, even the skinny minis.

Now that I'm 4 months in, I've decided to try and move my body every day in a way that gets my heart rate up. I want to be healthy so it has to include fitness as well as weight loss.

FlorenceNightshade · 26/08/2025 14:11

@AlicesMum2025 well done you!!! I think you are so right though, I’m sure everyone of every size and shape has SOMETHING about their body they don’t like or wish they could change!

@AlicesMum2025 That is an excellent NSV! I managed the same yesterday and have done it a few more times in case it was a fluke.

@ElsieMay Where are you going for your holiday? Maybe you told us and I forgot.

tostaky · 26/08/2025 17:07

Lovely to hear about all the NSV, especially the big ones like going swimming for the first time in a long time!
well done all!
I am with you on the exercising. After starting MJ i started going to yoga again and to go to a bootcamp once a week. Now i am also adding some youtube video for weight training. I did one yesterday focusing on lower body.. i can bately walk today! (I can but it is painful. I did manage 10.,000 steps though) - what i realise is that exercise doesnt only make me feel better in my body or make me stronger, it is also making me work on my stability and on my balance! When things are challenging diring a workout, my 75 years old self thanks my 48 years old self for looking after her body!!!

ElsieJay · 26/08/2025 18:13

@Apprenante - Cyprus again!
DD and her DH met at Uni, married in 2002 and been living there ever since.
We went over in June, DGS was doing his military service (only two more weeks to go 🥳) so understandably didn’t see too much of him. DGD was taking Uni exams in Italy and we missed her by 48 hours …🥲
So just a little bit very excited to be returning.

dc82 · 27/08/2025 08:11

Well done @AlicesMum2025! Fab loss and they’re two really motivational NSVs!

I know exercise is important and I should be working to make it a key part of my week. I’m doing weights and walking, but I’d like to add something else in that I might enjoy more or to actually just be more consistent with what I do do. I find it hard to juggle with working full time and being a single mum, so tend to stick to things I can do at home when I’ve a spare moment so I have no set pattern to it at the minute.

DBatteryBand · 27/08/2025 08:33

Well done @AlicesMum2025 ! You have inspired me. I’m going to invest in a new swimming costume and look at the opening times for our nearest pool.

(Please note just looking at this stage. One step at a time!)

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 27/08/2025 09:02

Measured this morning for the first time in a month and lost a total of14cm off my neck/waist/bust/hips/thighs in the last month. I weigh every day but don’t measure very often. Nice to see the body measurements coming down. Think all my old size 16’s fit now. I’m trying to put off buying new clothes for now as I don’t want to be a 16 for long.

I did need to buy a new swimming costume though as my one was looking very faded and getting loose (baggy swimsuit is not a good look). I have very randomly bought a leopard print one with neon pink trim. I don’t usually buy from Shein but it was the only place I could find some dresses my daughter liked and I didn’t want to spend lots on clothes that won’t fit me for long. Cozzie is very unlike me but I doubt anyone in the pool will care what I wear so I went for it. Feels secure enough to do lengths in. Daughter loved her new clothes too so that was good.

@dc82 have you ever considered skipping? I love the idea and did a bit during lockdown and as my kids were/are young it’s something I could do without leaving them (I even did it in my third floor flat!). I still terrible at it though - some really inspirational people on insta with tutorials.

congrats to all the new swimmers and swimsuits!!!

in other news, my Chemist 4U order has been approved!! Wonder of wonders!!!! So relieved! Thank you for all the emotional support over the last few days. You guys are gold medal-ers!!!!

MyScaredCat · 27/08/2025 09:18

Feeling very pleased this morning. I made the decision last Wednesday to jab 2.5 from my 5 pen going forward and this would be my last.
im not going to lie, this week was a struggle. I felt like I had zero suppression at all. I had to exercise serious willpower. The scales this morning show 1.5lb loss, taking my total to 40. BMI is now 24.9 🥳 and I’ve now 7.5lb to goal. Gives me hope for when I stop completely

HKG · 27/08/2025 09:27

Whoop @MyScaredCat !!! That’s like a double win! A loss on a loser dose - well done you!!! Inspirational!

ElsieJay · 27/08/2025 10:20

Some great losses and NSVs this morning !
@MyScaredCat - that takes your BMI into the “normal “ range, I believe , amazing total loss also . ⭐️
Wow, @lifetheuniverseandeverything42 , very glam cozzie there to show off your shrinking body , well done ! ⭐️
And @AlicesMum2025 - sorry I missed your post yesterday , congrats on braving the pool and all the other NSVs. Really wish I could swim, it’s a great all-round exercise.⭐️

@HKG - 🥳🥳🥳 At last ! - great news !!
Hopefully they’ll be speedy in despatching your order, it’s a great relief getting that notification isn’t it . 😍

And in other news - DGD passed her driving test earlier this morning, at her first attempt.
We’re all very happy !! 🍾🥂

Onwards - literally in my case , as need to get some snacky bits for tomorrow. We’re going to a country farm park - luckily quite a lot of indoors entertainment for youngsters if the predicted rain arrives….☔️☔️ ☔️

SutekhsEars · 27/08/2025 11:06

Oh my god. That's was the most traumatic hour and a half I've had in a few years. Been at the dentist for a fairly grim treatment. Started out by throwing up over myself after trying to explain that I do have a strong gag reflex. I thought it was a 40 minute appointment but it just kept going on and on. She gave me a temp crown for my front tooth that looks awful and I don't think will stay on for 2 weeks. Fortunately, I don't think I ever want to eat or drink again!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 27/08/2025 11:25

Ah @SutekhsEars you poor sausage, that sounds horrendous. Hope you can take it easy today?

Gingercar · 27/08/2025 13:45

Oh no, that sounds traumatic!

DBatteryBand · 27/08/2025 15:19

Oh heck. The dentist!!!! Thinking of you, @SutekhsEars. It sounds awful.

In more cheery news, another NSV...for the first time since about 2010 I have managed to remove my engagement ring. What a relief! (DH looks a bit put out at my jubilation - wait til he sees how excited I'll be when I can get my wedding ring off!) I am always worried I'll have some medical emergency and have to have both rings cut off my fat finger. On holiday this summer I had a mosquito bite on one of my fingers that made the whole thing swell up - I was expecting the same to happen to my ring finger, requiring a medic to get the pliers out. I wouldn't want anything to happen to these rings - they are not exciting or fabulous to look at, but they do mean a lot and are the only rings I have (I have always turned down others due to my ginormous sausage fingers). Well pleased!

ElsieJay · 27/08/2025 15:44

Aaah, @SutekhsEars - what an awful morning , hope you’re feeling more yourself now! Wishing you a quiet afternoon to recover.
Another lovely and unexpected NSV, @DBatteryBand.
It’s these little bonus victories along the way that keep us going.
Onwards and downwards !

Apprenante · 27/08/2025 16:32

Oh @SutekhsEars that sounds like a nightmare. Well done for getting through the ordeal. I bet it doesn't look as bad as you think. (Is there a particular meaning/reason for your unusual name?)
@DBatteryBand Congratulations! NSVs are very special.
@MyScaredCat healthy BMI is wonderful!
@ElsieMay Congratulations to your DGD

HereIGoOnceMore · 27/08/2025 16:48

Congratulations on the victories, it’s so lovely reading everyone’s progress.

And commiserations @SutekhsEarsthst sounds like a miserable experience. I hope you aren’t too uncomfortable now.

notgonnafail · 27/08/2025 16:57

Anyone with Juniper, or know how long they take to approve consults?

Congrats on SVs and NSVs, commiserations to thoee feeling poorly or having dental trials and tribulations!

My neighbours just arrived with a bag of plums from their garden for me, which is excellent timing as I had run out of fresh fruit today!

BerfyTigot · 27/08/2025 20:51

Just had an email from Asda apologising for the delay and giving me an estimated delivery of 30th Aug- 2nd Sept.

This is the order that was delivered last Saturday!! Seems like chaos!

Kittkats · 27/08/2025 21:05

Lurking from July, but for hair loss take folic acid. Certain medications deplete folate and hair loss is the first symptom, so it makes sense that less dietary folic acid (because of reduced intake overall) would cause similar.

lissie123 · 27/08/2025 21:26

Can I ask what dosage peeps are using three months into this journey, as I’m thinking of going up to 6mg this week after stalling last week and dithering about going up to 7.5mg. I’ve tried not to rush through the levels of dosages because I’ve been losing, albeit about 1lb a week.

Gingercar · 27/08/2025 21:33

I actually had an apology and a partial refund from Voy today after they’re not being upfront about only prescribing 2.5 pens to anyone but existing customers. I think my review on Trustpilot swung it. They asked if I would consider editing it.

@lissie123 Im just finishing my first 5mg pen, after two 2.5 pens. I’ve a golden dose to go, then I’ve two 7.5 pens. I was hoping to get more 5mg doses from the 7.5 pen to make it last longer, but I feel a bit hungry and less positive this week, so might try 6mg perhaps.

I moved to 7.5 after 15 weeks. I was on 5mg for 2 months, but the effects didn't seem that strong anymore. I did 6.5mg (bonus dose) for my 15th injection, and then moved to 7.5. I'm loving 7.5 for now (2 weeks in)
