I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

Be wary of Voy though. I went back to them, after leaving them 2.5 weeks ago. Their application process looked like it would send a 2.5 pen out, so I queried it with their AI coach, who said it automatically put 2.5 then the clinician reviewed it. So I applied. Again it put that 2.5 was being ordered. I requested to speak to someone because I was currently using a 5mg pen and wanted to go up to 7.5. They noted that and said they would pass it onto the clinicians. Today I got an email saying a 2.5 pen was on its way! When I contacted customer services again they said that all returning or new customers automatically get 2.5 and they don’t issue higher doses. So now I’m arguing with them that if they’d been honest enough to say that before I paid I’d never have ordered. But I’m fuming. I’ve sung their praises for weeks, but I think this was low and dishonest.

BluNavy · 25/08/2025 19:11

@HKG
I placed two orders with new providers and haven't had to show any proof of my previous prescriptions. Other than confirmation emails and photos of the boxes I wouldn't have anything. They never asked and I assumed that the clinicians check your records and then prescribe accordingly+ I had to do pictures for both.
Hopefully Chemist for you come through for you. They were one of the ones I tried and I went straight to 5 and. 7.5. I don't think you need to go back to 2.5 unless you want to.

HKG · 25/08/2025 19:13

Thank you @SussexLass87 and @ElsieJay super helpful to have your thoughts and sympathies so I don’t feel like some kind of unreasonable addict!

@ElsieJay i actually thought of you when I was speaking to him, and your experience too. Like we’re not giving them business??? It’s not a donation! Fingers crossed I have the same positive delivery experience as you too!

@SussexLass87 i hope you’re right about post-Sept supplies. I your post made me think though, I could take smaller doses from this pen and eek it out to three weeks instead of two…

HKG · 25/08/2025 19:17

@Gingercar calling them is on my list of to dos for tomorrow - I tried today but bank holiday and all. Keep everything crossed for me!

@SutekhsEars i would have thought so - I’ll call him tomorrow too. This is stupid of me I know but I just scurried off from my last convo with him slightly ashamed of needing the meds in the first place like a berated child. I can’t believe it - I can stand up for myself in every other situ in life but when it comes to my weight I still struggle with the shame.

Sallycinnamum · 25/08/2025 19:31

Happy bank holiday all.

I'm another pound down so currently 9st10lbs. Its been a very slow few weeks so I think my body is very much resisting losing any more weight.

Jabbed 3mg in my stomach on Friday. No side effects at all so think I may stick at 3mg now or throw caution to the wind and go up to 3.75mg and see what happens!

I really need to get used to feeling more hungry if I'm going to come off MJ soon. My colleague has slowly titrated down to 2.5mg every 10 days but has worried me as her appetite has returned with a vengeance.

Well-done on everyone's losses!

HKG · 25/08/2025 20:05

@lifetheuniverseandeverything42 tahnk you for sharing - yes this does give me hope! Thank you!

@BluNavy thank you too! Fingers crossed they come through. I have been asked for evidence of current does by a few suppliers now - weird, maybe I sound dodgy??

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 25/08/2025 20:19

@hkg It seems odd that they don't put a sticker on the box showing who it is prescribed to, the date it was prescribed and the dose - that's pretty basic stuff. Do you get a slip with your order showing that instead, or do you have consultations/prescriptions saved in your account?

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 25/08/2025 20:21

Can I just be a massive knobhead and suggest that eek is to declare shock or surprise, whilst eke is to try to maximise the lifespan/duration of something by consuming it in a minimal fashion.

I know, I'm a twat.

Oh my god. This is right up my alley! I didn’t even know eek vs eke!!! Thank you! Not a knob head at all - I am smarter for it!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 25/08/2025 20:29

Thank goodness @HKG!

In my defence, I possibly have a UTI. I have a long and, frankly, bizarre history of panic attacks connected with a fear that I'm going to wee myself (started when I had to do a 90 minute commute to work pre-pandemic with tiny children and a lot on my plate and has never really left). Luckily now I work from home and the bathroom isn't exactly a long walk.
Lots of painful, microscopic wees for me today.

HKG · 25/08/2025 20:31

@DidILeaveTheGasOn well that sounds thoroughly unpleasant! The UTIs are a nightmare, I remember once we thought my MIL was showing signs of dementia until we found out it was a UTI! So scary.

I hope it passes quickly for you - lots of cranberry juice?? That’s always worked for me when I had them whilst pregnant.

sending hugs!

I didn’t know that. I’ve said eek many times this week. I stand corrected. Happily.

BerfyTigot · 26/08/2025 08:46

Weigh in today, and as expected, ive stayed the same. Difficult week healthwise so I'm ok with it.

Need to get back on track this week.

Good luck to other Tuesday weighers 🤞

dc82 · 26/08/2025 09:27

Well done losers and hug to @BerfyTigot - hope you have a better week this week health wise!

Weigh day for me and after a gain last week, I’ve lost 3lbs this week. The body be a funny thing. Only thing I did do this week was refocus on protein - so every time I have eaten a meal this week I’ve said has this got a good amount of protein in it and if the answer was no I’ve picked something else. Also think my metabolism just likes to play silly buggers with me.

dc82 · 26/08/2025 09:28

@DidILeaveTheGasOn sorry to hear about the UTI. It’s the worst feeling!! Another mumsnetter recommended waterfall d mannose to me and it really does help keep the utis away.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 26/08/2025 10:04

Great, thank you @dc82, I'll get some!

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 26/08/2025 10:41

Shot day today for me to. Lost nothing this week. Normally id be thinking of going up a bit but with the lack of stock i didnt. Stayed on 5mg and will until the kids go back to school now. Then i im still not loosing on 5mg in my normal routine i should know if i can get my next pen or not and how much it will cost.

I honestly don't care anymore about the 30 days thing and I have gone to half dosing my from my 10mg pen. Not ideal but better miss a dose at 5mg than at 10mg because of no stock. That's my risk assessment anyway. I still have the option to do a few 5mg then 2.5mg and stop this way too and right now I want that safety net

DBatteryBand · 26/08/2025 11:20

Well done to those losing and those battling on.

I am joining the ranks of the slightly poorly today. Despite knowing full well that too much wine and too much fancy food is not something my MJ will let me mess with, I overdid it this weekend, not massively, just maybe one gunpowder potato chunk or two too far, a tablespoonful too much of DH’s lush curry, two glasses of wine too many and so on. There was a bag of crisps at one point, too, which is never a good idea. I am thoroughly nauseated today and burping like a fiend. I have a child free day, for once, but at the moment can only sit at the kitchen table, sipping mint tea and feeling sorry for myself. Serves me right. My inner Dowager Duchess is looking very disapproving.

Oh my word...CRISPS are lethal for me now. I can cope with one or two, any more and I'm so ill. Almost instantly.

They used to be my absolute favourite thing as well 😭

ElsieJay · 26/08/2025 11:56

Hope you’re feeling better today , @BerfyTigot and@DidILeaveTheGasOn - and commiserations to@DBatteryBand- I ate more than I’d intended on Sunday, and although I wasn’t nauseous the burps were back and had barely any sleep, so you have my sympathy.Hope you recover enough to enjoy a rare child-free day!
Well done to the losers , and the STS-ers.

I jabbed this morning, a day early as plan on jabbing next Monday before we go away - so all being well, one week of suppressed appetite and one week of supreme willpower - and then jab on the night of the 16th,if we have no delays coming home.
Last weigh in will be this coming Friday. 🤞

In other news, DGD takes her driving test tomorrow- so positive thoughts and/or divine intervention much appreciated ! 🚗 🚙 🚘

ElsieJay · 26/08/2025 11:58

Rereading the posts above, do we think it’s the fat content of those particular foods that upset us ?
Onvs not the case with the alcohol 🍷 so maybe not the fat ….

DBatteryBand · 26/08/2025 12:08

@SussexLass87 and @ElsieJay Carbs, beyond a small portion, don’t seem to suit me, and mixing fat and carbs (crisps, roasted potatoes, chips etc) seem to be the final straw. Wine is full of sugary carbs, of course, so that might be significant as well.

I think a spell in the culinary arid desert of lettuce leaves, plain chicken and sparkling water might be required.

ElsieJay · 26/08/2025 12:22

Hmmm yes, it was the roast potato and parsnip that did for me ( plus the cauliflower cheese , Yorkshire pud and lemon cheesecake ….).
Lettuce hope you’re better soon 🥬.
You have made me smile, though ! 💐

DBatteryBand · 26/08/2025 12:25

I see what you did there!😃

FlorenceNightshade · 26/08/2025 13:28

Week 15 check in for me today! Today is Jab 16!! I’ve stuck with 3.75mg as it seems to be working well with no side effects. Once this pen is finished I will start titrating down.

SW 92.9kg BMI 30
CW 72.8kg BMI 23.5
GW 67.4kg BMI 21.8 maybe 🤷‍♀️

Loss this week 0.9kg, total loss 20.1kg or 44lbs/3 stone!! I’m in size 10 jeans (from one shop anyway!) and small uniforms for work! Who even am I????

I ran out of clicks in my pen today, I started a 5mg pen but only took one full dose due to side effects. I’ve looked back and today is actually dose 6 out that pen with at least one dose left. I opened it 22nd July so I’m over the 30 days. I did notice some air in it after I’d used a needle to take out today’s dose so if it looks cloudy or anything next week I will discard it.

Obviously I would never advise anyone to not follow the prescribers/manufacturers instructions and I’m aware there are risks.

I also cancelled my next pen, I actually have 3 5mg pens in the fridge not just 2 so decided that will be enough. If I break the rules and reduce my dose they will last for a long time. I might even try and keep one unopened as a back up.

Really need to focus more on exercise now! I’ve not done any weights for ages, I do walk with a weighted vest most days and have been increasing my running and cycling but need to tone up!

Inspiring as always reading about everyone’s progress and all the ways we are making our lives better. So proud of us for sticking with it even when it’s hard and putting our health at the top of the list where it belongs!

Onwards and downwards ✌️
