I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

Bloody hell these jabs are amazing! After moaning endlessly about how slowly I lose, I have eventually got within a hairs whisker of goal - just 1lb or 300g to go!

Its felt slow and has often stalled, but averaged 1lb a week, which does add up in the end. Im absolutely thrilled 💐
I know in the past I would have given up after stalling, but having invested in these jabs it makes you keep going.

I've been on 5mg these past 6 weeks, got 1 dose and 1 pen left. So im going for a final 5mg jab on Friday then 3.75 to 2.5 over the final pen.

Im hoping the lessons I've learnt with portion size and snacking will stick, and was already eating healthily and exercising so that continues.

So excuse my waffle but just wanted to share and reassure the plodders on here, we get there in the end! 😃

@DBatteryBand - your dog sounds like my cat ! It’s the expression on her face when the toy has been batted under the sofa that gets me ….🙀

Ooooooh , @stripesdotsdashes , that must feel amazing - well done you ! 🥳
I’m not losing weight as quickly as many on here, but hoping it will be more sustainable this way - and as you said, every pound adds up.

And now you’ve only one more to go !!!

I'm impressed by the click and dagger skills, @ElsieJay

I have a startling NSV to report. I have a stupid dog that likes to roll his ball under the furniture, where it invariably gets stuck. I always have to lower myself carefully onto the floor, crawl to retrieve the ball then crawl across the floor to the sofa to heft myself back onto my feet. This evening, I retrieved the ball and just stood up! I didn't have to clamber or crawl anywhere....I simply stood up! Astonishing.

We have your dog’s twin! We call it dog golf because he’s not happy unless he’s potted all his toys underneath something. Then I have to retrieve them. I think he thinks I like retrieving (he’s a lab, it’s all they live for) and that he’s doing something nice for me. He always has a pleased goofy face when I go to get it. And he likes to then stand on my hair so I can’t get up!

I moved up to 10mg last month and it made me so very ill so I’ve moved back down again

SW 11st 10
CW 9st 3
GW 8st 3

For clarity I’m extremely short so my GW looks low but it’s appropriate

SutekhsEars · 25/08/2025 09:41

@stripesdotsdashes well done!

I’ve been here since early May so 4 months. I seem to lose a lot then stick that seems the pattern. I’m currently losing a lot because I have finally given up wine. No wine in last 4 days and losing consistently each day. Giving up wine was one of my incentives to start this so I am pleased. It took a while but hopefully persists. Mounjaro seems to make it a little easier to give up. Wine meant buying unhealthy food as well so it’s a double win. I find it easier to eat healthily without it. I am on my last pen but will use it every 2 weeks with a 5mg dose. That will hopefully take me to 10 stone and I will do that final 8lbs myself. I don’t want to give them the money after the price increase. Anyway I am just about to retire. Hope all are well.

HereIGoOnceMore · 25/08/2025 10:31

Well done @stripesdotsdashes that’s a fantastic achievement.

I actually love this thread and it’s so nice to hear of so many goals and mini goals being achieved as we make progress. In London Marathon terms, I feel like we have made it over the cobbles and we will get to the mall.

SutekhsEars · 25/08/2025 10:41

@Dominoeffecter you're 2/3rds of the way there! Well done!

Hey, is it ok if I join? I started in May but didnt join at the time. I am on 7.5mg at the moment.

SW 83kg
CW 67kg
GW 58kg

So Im by no means losing as fast as some but that is ok. I will get there. I'm really enjoying living life without the food noise, or at least with manageable food noise. I am focussing on the journey, not the end goal.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 25/08/2025 15:10

Just got back from long weekend away. Well done to all those that have reached healthy weights, hit goal or are within sniffing distance of goal!

We did a lot of activities over the weekend so I'm absolutely knackered. I also got my period just as we arrived (typical) so I invested in a modibodi swimming costume and I'm so glad I did, I would have missed out on swimming with the kids otherwise. I had to buy a size 18 though and that was tight on the bottom half - I am trying not to let it bother me but it is, I was a size 18-20 when I started this process! I'm now a 14-16 on top and 16-18 on bottom.

Anyway, aside from feeling as though my weight loss has been mocked by a swimming costume, I was so happy with how easy it was to go for long walks, run about and swim in rapids. I had much more energy and moving about was just... Easier. I could not have done any of this when I was 240lbs. Being obese is so exhausting!

So happy I started on Mounjaro. What a life-changing medication.

SaintAgatha · 25/08/2025 15:51

My NSV today is that I have squeezed myself into a pair of New Look size 14 skinny jeans and whilst they are tight, they’re not impossibly so. So I wore them to the park with DC! Incredible. I intend on carrying on until Christmas, it’s mind-blowing to imagine myself in a size 10 again for the first time in over 15 years.

Apprenante · 25/08/2025 17:54

My NSV is that I got down to sit on the grass this afternoon and then got up again all on my own - no helping hand and not clinging on to a handy tree. This is massive for me.

WHOOP! Congrats @SaintAgatha and @Apprenante its these real life wins that count the most!

SussexLass87 · 25/08/2025 18:03

Hello all

Congrats to the losers out there! So happy for you all.

Back from holiday and braved the scales ... I've gained 3lbs.

That's okay though...I know full well that I didn't hydrate enough. I don't drink booze or caffeine but the Sprites I was having are full of sugar. I also started my period a week early whilst out there.

NSV - I happily walked, enjoyed the sea and the pools at the camp. Walked around the Eurocamp supermarket in a cozzie and nothing else (just like everyone else and felt very comfortable)

HKG · 25/08/2025 18:26

Hey all, I hope everyone is enjoying the late summer sunshine!

I don’t wish to be a downer but I’m starting to freak out about my lack of MJ - the chemist4U order input in is still pending and I ordered on 15th. I called my local pharmacy who I’ve been with since the beginning and he was so rude, essentially said ‘you’re the 50th person calling me in the last 24 hours panicking about this - I don’t know what’s happening yet’.

I have two doses left in my 5mg pen, due to jab in a couple of days.

im now thinking, if worse comes to worst, I could just sign on as a new client somewhere and start again on 2.5? My pharmacist doesn’t print the ‘proof’ required on the box so I can’t transfer straight to another 5mg. What do we think?

I am unreasonably worried that this will be the end of my MJ journey when I still have many many many lbs to go…

ElsieJay · 25/08/2025 18:30

Brilliant NSVs, @SaintAgatha snd @Apprenante ! 💐 💐
Welcome home, @SussexLass87 - sounds like you had a wonderful carefree holiday , and what a confidence boost, browsing the aisles in your swimsuit ! 👙 🛒
Only gaining 3lbs is great , you’ll soon have that off and be on the downward slope again.

SussexLass87 · 25/08/2025 18:47

Thanks @ElsieJay ☀️

Sorry to hear you're feeling this way @HKG - I can relate. If it helps, my reorder of my next pen is still waiting to be dispatched.

I've got 2.5mg left in my current 5mg pen and I'm trying to see how long I can go without taking it.

I'm hoping (potentially naively!) that once we get to Sept 1st that supplies will even out once we all know what the prices will be?!

I just wish there was some actual proper advice out there - saw an article in The Guardian earlier. Which was so unhelpful!

The National Pharmacy Association is quoted:
“Instead, we’d encourage them to speak to their prescriber, who can support them with any concerns they may have and provide them with the safe care they need.”

Which is exactly what you did @HKG and he was rude to you! The advice is just unrealistic.

ElsieJay · 25/08/2025 18:48

Cross-post , @HKG - I feel your pain, it’s so flipping stressful waiting to hear whether or not the orders are going to arrive.
And yet another snarky pharmacist doesn’t help either ! What is it with these people?
I honestly don’t know if it would hurt temporarily dropping to 2.5 if needs be,but can’t imagine it would be a problem.
Trying to look on the bright side (and I know how hard that is at the minute) , if you have two doses left then that’s a fortnight and a lot can happen in that time .
I went to bed on Friday night with my 15th Aug order pending- it was approved either late that night or very early on Saturday - and DPD delivered my order on Sunday morning. So I’d gone from despair to huge relief in the space of 40 hours.
Sending a hug of solidarity, and keeping everything crossed for you . 🤞

ElsieJay · 25/08/2025 18:57

Belated welcome to the May 2025 cohort, @Lndnmummy - we’re quite a chatty bunch as you can see !

Gingercar · 25/08/2025 18:57

@hkg have you tried ringing Chemist4U? I had to wait perhaps 20 mins to speak to them last week, but my order was processed the next day. They didn’t even ask to see my previous prescription.

@SussexLass87 i think there will be lots more supplies (but higher priced) next month. Combination of lots of us having bulk bought and not needing to reorder, and the USA supplier having held back stock (imo). For example I should have enough to get me through five or six months, hopefully to goal, without reordering.

SutekhsEars · 25/08/2025 18:57

Aren't they obliged to give you a copy of your prescription @HKG ? Could you just ask for it, 'for your records', then you could sign on as a new customer with an online provider. I think there are a couple of nurses in this group who might know more about it.

I guess the NPA members are inundated at the moment , but that really is singularly unhelpful advice ….🤬🤬
Should have known The Orange One had his (freakily small )hands all over this fiasco .

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 25/08/2025 19:06

@HKG I ordered 8am on 15th with Chrmist4U. I’ve just had the tracking come though with it being delivered tomorrow. 2x5mg pens. I did raise a ticket (on your order there is a bit where you can message), saying I was away 28-1 so if it wasn’t going to be delivered before 28th could they delay it till after the 1st. They answered the ticket quickly saying it was being prepped for dispatch and would be sent the following day. I’ve now had the RM tracking. Maybe this might give you some comfort.
