I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

Thank you all for your support - not sure why i feel so self conscious about people noticing i lose weight! I’ll probably say ive been eating healthier - which is true and that ive started exercising again - which is also true!
saying that i did a total body workout from Carolien Girvan on youtube this morning and i enjoyed it! Planning to do more as often as i can.
and for the NSV: i have a bag of 11 pairs of trousers that are too small for me. This morning i tried them all and three are fitting me well!! Three are nearly fitting me and the rest i need to lose quite a bit more. Very pleased with myself!
Have a lovely day all 😊

Woohoo just had email from Asda saying my order has been approved! I’m so relieved that’s my 2 pen bundle of a 10 & 12.5 that I’m planning on doing 7.5 from as long as it’s working! I’m hoping I can then save up and afford another pen or 2 and hopefully if my weight loss continues as it is currently I’ll be almost there then . Long way to go still!!!! But currently just happy I’ve got them coming!!!!

I've started doing Slimpod, and one of the tips is you hang up an item of clothing as a goal - not one that's way too small, but just one size down. Pick something lovely that you're really looking forward to wearing again.

ElsieJay · 20/08/2025 12:47

Thanks , @Seahorsesplendour , that’s very encouraging .
Lots of you approaching goal weight , too - bags of positivity this morning !
For some reason, my phone corrected positivity to “pistachios” - now that would be the start of a very slippery slope for me ….

BerfyTigot · 20/08/2025 12:50

Thatsa really good idea @SutekhsEars I've got a pair of monsoon jeans from 25 years ago 😳 which I'd love to be able to fit into again 😀

I tried a few things on but most of my old trousers are lower-waisted than I wear now. Even if I got really skinny,I don't think they'd be comfortable. ☹️
They're still lovely, so I've hung a pair of embroidered linen trousers on the side of my wardrobe to admire every day when I get up!

Has anyone tried Freja broths? I ordered the chicken ones and had one this evening, 65cals for 500ml and 16g of protein. I'd like to use it as the base for a lentil soup I think, I make a really nice beetroot, apple and lentil soup and I think adding this broth would really amp up the protein and flavour.

The amount of protein I'm getting per day has dropped, I think I was getting around 80g in the early days. More like 30-40g now. Anyone fancy a protein challenge? Try to get to 60g a day?

I've just been given a LOAD of apples. Your soup sounds lovely and would help me to use them up. Is there a recipe? 😊

Apprenante · 20/08/2025 13:46

Continuing the food theme .... following a recommendation on another thread I tried Longley Farm cottage cheese. Full fat but not too many calories and surprisingly nice!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 20/08/2025 15:00

Cottage cheese review = 'surprisingly nice' made me snort. They should put that on the packet, I'd almost be tempted to try it!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 20/08/2025 15:06

Ooh sorry I missed the comment about the soup.

I tend to do a version of this recipe - https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/recipes/roast-beetroot-and-apple-soup - but I use the pre-cooked beetroot rather than roasting my own. Add cumin and marjoram. Rather than veg stock, use beef or chicken broth for the protein and some healthy dollops of greek yoghurt (again, for the protein - I feel like I say that word so often now that it should be shortened to something for ease - potes, maybe. Do it for the potes! Totes potes bro. What is happening to me...)

Yes perhaps I should try Longley Farm cottage cheese- their stuff is usually good, and it’s fairly local to me too.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 20/08/2025 15:38

Maybe it should be protes, not potes. Totes protes.

BerfyTigot · 20/08/2025 16:07

Is insanity a known side effect of MJ? Asking in case @DidILeaveTheGasOn needs to see her GP 😉😉😘

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 20/08/2025 16:45

😂😂😂

FlorenceNightshade · 20/08/2025 17:27

Oh God it’s contagious! I read totes potes and meaning loads of potatoes like totally potatoes @DidILeaveTheGasOn !!! Of course totally protein makes(marginally!) more sense

So gals I’ve genuinely needed 24 hours to process this! I went jeans shopping again yesterday after the last attempt left me still a size 12/14, down from a 14/16 but not reliable in every shop.

I was wearing a pair from Next that are a 14 and my husband has been commenting on my jeans looking saggy on me so bit the bullet and tried again.

I have three pairs of Size 10s in my wardrobe from Next! Two pairs fit fine and one gives a tiny muffin top but wearable. I also picked up a few T-shirts, a few mediums that I tried on and then some were numbered sizes and when I compared what I had tried and knew fitted it worked out at a 10 on top too!

I have never owned Size 10 clothing!! In fairness I feel I should point out that 12s in New Look didn’t fit properly nevermind 10s but it still feels like such a huge NSV for me!!!

Ive also re-tried some smaller work trousers I was issued and they now fit fine too. Tomorrow, for the first time ever I will be going to work in a Small Tunic and Small trousers!

I think wearing smaller clothes has opened my eyes to my new size, sounds stupid but wearing the same stuff as before definitely hid it from me! A lot of my clothes are gym/running leggings that are a bit looser but not falling off but some of my baggier T-shirts have been moved out the drawer!

Im too scared to through anything away. I’ve got it all bagged up and will tuck it away somewhere hopefully never to be seen again. I guess it’s the opposite of keeping clothes you’re too big for but I can’t bring myself to do it yet!

Anyway thank to anyone who has made it to the end of my essay!!! This is what happens when you don’t have people in real life (apart from my DH!) who know that I’m on MJ - you guys are all I have to share it with!

This thread makes me giggle 😂. I’ve also been heavy on the protes this week. Totes protes and totes water! Hopefully that helps the lbs keep moving.

P.S please can we keep totes protes as our group phrase 😁

dc82 · 20/08/2025 18:57

Well done all the losers and well done on the NSVs! I think adjusting mentally to what others see and what we see is probably going to take time @FlorenceNightshade. I honestly can’t remember when I was last in size 10 jeans - that’s a fab achievement!

Apprenante · 20/08/2025 19:03

Thanks @DidILeaveTheGasOn! For the recipe and for the new team name.
Totes protes and heavy on the fibes vibes???

PinkScot · 20/08/2025 19:14

Just thought I’d check my Asda order for two more pens placed on the 14/8/25 and it’s been approved! So it says delivery in two days. Although I am very relieved I then went on webpage regarding price increase and saw that all doses except 2.5mg and OUT OF STOCK. I feel so bad now. It’s like I’m ok but everyone who didn’t order may be struggling. I feel very very guilty.
i really hope everyone who needs another jab before they re stock manages to get one from an alternative supplier 🥹

HereIGoOnceMore · 20/08/2025 19:25

Congratulations @FlorenceNightshadethat’s amazing!!! I do sort of get the size denial, especially if it’s been a few years but here’s to the fitter, trimmer you.

Sallycinnamum · 20/08/2025 19:31

Evening all. Noticed my appetite is at a level ive not experienced for a long time so I'm going to increase my dose on Friday.

I've been on 3mg for 3 weeks now so I'm hoping I may be able to tolerate 3.33mg.

I've got 3 more doses in my current pen and another 5mg in the fridge. I keep saying this is going to be my last pen especially as I'm now under my target weight but I'm worried about stopping. Think its become a comfort blanket for me. I even look forward to jabbing! Don't really know what to do to be honest but I'll see how dramatic the price rises are and decide then.

DBatteryBand · 20/08/2025 19:33

@FlorenceNightshade That’s amazing!!!!

Apprenante · 20/08/2025 19:34
