Has anyone tried Wegovy?

MissPobjoysPonies · 16/08/2025 21:35

Whilst it’s going to get pricey, I am of the view that it will still be worth it and to cut back on other things (even further).

I’m a slab of butter off being “healthy” and not overweight. My plan was always to to and get to half a stone below that (or 10lbs) for wiggle room. I also always planned to only be “reliant” for a year if possible so if I need to buy a mega dose and micro jab then that is what I will try and do for maintenance.

however this is all dependent on how much everything g will be and how much I will have to spend to get it. Currently I’ve been bouncing and am waiting for Oushk to approve me (Tuesday) and then they will apparently post to arrive the day I will need to dose again. So I may well stock up at full price with Pill Sorted if I can.

its all a bit of a mess really isn’t it. Ironically my bank is offering me a 12 month interest free transfer so I’m tempted to load it all on there 😞 something I hate doing but needs must and I know Im Lucky I have this option.

2025istheyeari · 17/08/2025 07:32

Polkadotdash · 16/08/2025 20:06

Has anyone tried Wegovy?

I haven’t but my brother lost 4 stone on it.
@MissPobjoysPonies good luck, hope Oushk approve soon. I’m waiting too!

Has anyone else had issues with the needles that come with the pens not working? I tried 2 from Oushk yesterday and neither of them worked, luckily I had some from a previous provider which did. No point in speaking to Oushk at the moment but I’m wondering why ( and worried as I only have 2 non Oushk ones left!!).

have a great Sunday losers, off wild swimming here.

PenelopePerseveres · 17/08/2025 08:13

Morning, official weigh day today and I’ve gained 1lb 🤣. I’ve just injected 6.25mg, hopefully that won’t be too strong and I’ll be able to eat.

I’ve never had needle trouble before @2025istheyeari , all Ouskh needles too, must be a dodgy batch.

Enjoy wild swimming 😍.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 17/08/2025 08:58

oh how annoying @PenelopePerseveres , your weight is especially sticky!

@2025istheyeari over here I buy my needles separately, got a big box so no issues if a few are dodgy. Maybe you should get some spares just in case? They're not expensive.

Over here stomach is slowly deflating - I hope it's back to normal in 2 weeks, as I have a wedding to go to, and otherwise won't fit into the dress.

Zempy · 17/08/2025 09:03

I’m 9:3 today, my lowest point on this journey. My weight is quite up and down at this point, just the last few pounds. I know when I get to nine stone I will want to push it so I can see that 8 on the scale, even if it’s just for one day!! 😍

SteveHarringtonsHair · 17/08/2025 09:30

Good morning all.
And well done to all who are still losing, maintaining and generally being awesome. I’m sorry I don’t share more about my personal life with all you losers because I recognised a lot of myself in some of your posts.
A bad ex experience has left me cautious about sharing anything on any type of platform that can be viewed publicly.

I’ve stopped weighing myself as regularly now. Thought as I’m about to start the process of maintaining/titrating down it might be a good idea?

Lost another pound this week which I’m happy with. Still going to try for the new GW of 126lbs but not too fussed now. It’s more of a ‘be good to get there’ than what I think my body is comfortable at.

I’m actively looking forward to planning meals again. I’ve realised there’s something exciting about trying new recipes that I’ve missed over the last few months.

Big shock about the prices going up this week. I can just about afford it now so would struggle on the higher prices if I had to continue. So that’s pretty much decided that I won’t be on MJ long term. I’m nervous about that but still hopeful that I can do it alone. Well with the support of this thread 💪

Good luck all for the week ahead.

SW 196lbs
CW 132lbs
1st GW 133lbs achieved
2nd GW 126lbs

Jins · 17/08/2025 09:42

@Zempy seeing the 8 once has been good enough for me. I’m back in the 9s now but don’t care as weight does fluctuate (and setting a round number goal wasn’t my best plan.)

@SteveHarringtonsHair great results and sharing personal stuff is not necessary at all. Posting updates is obligatory 🤣. This has been a great thread and I think it will come into its own when the price hikes hit and people inevitably decide to go it alone.

DH is due back later so my quiet weekend will be over. When I’ve sorted the menagerie out I’m going to have a long bath and read or enjoy the sunshine. I see no virtue in doing housework while my equal partner in such tasks is having fun. 🤩

MissPobjoysPonies · 17/08/2025 09:48

I weighed this morning and RENPHO has put me in the green. IN THE GREEN
😭

I’ve gone from 31.1 BMI to 25
total loss of 2st 11lbs

🥳

myladyjane · 17/08/2025 10:02

Morning losers

@Jinsyes. this is correct.

well done others, fingers crossed for speedy healing @HeidiNotSoHeavy

@CurlsandCurves you are exactly where I am. I went up to 52 clicks of a 10mg pen for the first time on Thursday and it’s definitely made a difference although only time will tell if that’s reflected on the scales.

can I ask for any recommendations for clear protein powder. Ideally not too expensive. I do generally try to avoid but I am really struggling at the moment with protein intake and think I need a boost. Dh has a normal one but I really dislike it and most other standard ones so hoping clear tastes less ‘claggy’

meatyryvita · 17/08/2025 10:34

I went it a family event yesterday after not seeing many of them for a good few months. Apparently, I am LOOKING WELL - it’s definitive 🤣!

I’m a shade off having lost 4 stone and am markedly smaller. I’ve mentioned before that I don’t have real access to a full length mirror and so I don’t often see what others see. I put my size 16 linen trousers on (I’m very much a small 14 these days but haven’t bought many new things as I’m not quite where I want to be) and I could take them off without undoing all of the buttons (they’re fitted around the waist and hips).

it is lovely to hear such lovely compliments when, because you see yourself day-to-day, you don’t really register changes so much. One elderly family member was apparently worried that I might be unwell (his wife told me), one quiet word later and all was well with the world!

Chattwd with DH about the price increases - I told him I see it as an investment in my health and that I would not be stopping. He agreed with me (I’m lucky enough to not have to worry about the cost in this stage of my life - and I truly acknowledge that it’s lucky - 10 years ago, it would not have been an option for me).

Aimingdown · 17/08/2025 10:40

I’ve always associated the expression “You’re looking well” with “You look fat”, but have recently found people using it to mean thinner. Which is nice.
Glad your DH is on board @meatyryvita !

discov · 17/08/2025 11:11

@2025istheyeari yes I’ve had issues with Oushk needles in the past. One week I had to change it 3 times because nothing came out when priming! I think I was just very unlucky that week as I think I’ve only had it happen again one other time.

@Aimingdown fantastic, well done!

@Zempy well done on your lowest weight yet! I am sure you’ll see that 8 soon enough.

@SteveHarringtonsHair I was a religious daily weigher but now don’t bother and just do it when I remember. I’m the same in that I’ve now changed my plan and will titrate down and come off completely, which I’ve made peace with now. I feel positive that I can keep on track. I’ve found this thread brilliant too! I am so glad it exists. Everyone here just ‘gets it.’

@MissPobjoysPonies amazing work well done!!!!

@myladyjane I’m also in the market for a clear protein. I was using the vanilla vegan protein from ProteinWorks but I find all ‘milky’ proteins so grim and I just can’t face it any more. I’ve given my huge bag to DH to finish off because he will consume anything without a care in the world 😄

@meatyryvita pleased to hear you can carry on despite the price increases. I have said this very recently, but if it was making a difference to health issues for me I would absolutely be trying to find a way to carry on. It must be life changing for a lot of people in that regard.

MJalltheway · 17/08/2025 11:24

I've tried a clear protein from MyProtein, peach flavoured. It was ok, more palatable when made much weaker than the suggested amount of water and mixed with some squash. I haven't really incorporated it into my life though I must admit!

oushk sound like they are really struggling to cope with demand at the moment, I guess they are one of the most popular suppliers as they were first with the maintenance plans and are relatively cheap. I hope they can get enough sorted to fulfil everyone that's waiting. I ordered from Lotus on the day that the news came out and got my delivery yesterday. That plus my next scheduled Voy delivery this week should see me to goal and then I can taper down I hope.

Smidge down today from Friday which always seems to happen when I have a week with not much change.
going through my wardrobe again today, I found a few 18s still lurking in there yesterday, some more wintry clothes or not-often-worn dresses etc. I think I'm now edging down to a size 12 top (depending on whether there's boob-room!). I've put aside 2 size 18 simple tops to have a go at altering. Whole new wardrobe is costing a fortune on top of the cost of the medication!

PenelopePerseveres · 17/08/2025 11:29

@meatyryvita that must have been lovely to hear. Well done.

I’m with you on trousers today, I found some linen shorts in a basket of summer stuff I’d forgotten about yesterday, forgotten about because I struggled to do them up, they’re now really loose, I’m wearing them today.

I’ll probably carry on until the end of the year (which was sort of my plan anyway). I’ve revised my goal to 11.5 stone which is showing as achievable by end of November, but who know with my trends!

Hopefully I’ll leave work sooner rather than later and have a bit more time to invest in myself and less stress (defo work stress, not sure about 💸💸 stress).

DGonMJ · 17/08/2025 11:37

@2025istheyeari I’ve had a needle that took 3 attempts to prime (used up 6 clicks). But got there eventually. Never had a totally dud one though.

@meatyryvita yes to ‘looking well’!!! Really lovely to get compliments.

congrats for green on the Renpho @MissPobjoysPonies 🏅🏅🏅

@SteveHarringtonsHair i also had to make a conscious decision to stop the daily weighing once I got to maintenance. One thing that helped was the batteries ran out on my juniper scales and I didn’t bother to replace! Renpho scales are downstairs so it’s more effort.

Jab day for me. I’m on hols and no scales here, so haven’t weighed today and won’t be weighing for two whole weeks. But yesterday was a new low weight of 58.7kg, despite exercising much less this week - so only 100g lower than a previous new low, but for me it’s time to titrate down.
I’ve gone down from 3.33mg to 3mg.
Maybe next Sunday I’ll do 2.75.

Feeling a lot calmer today about the whole price hike thing, but I know I’m lucky to have started this in January and be well into my maintenance journey now. I remember when I first contemplated doing back in December this I expected to pay about £200-250 a month as that’s the price I saw Juniper advertising. So when I saw I could get it for under £150 I already thought I was lucky. But your mind quickly adjusts and when the prices kept dropping we assumed it would remain competitive amongst pharmacies. Never thought that the manufacturer would increase while so much other research was being done to find alternative and improved meds. I guess we’ll see how this plays out over the next few months. My totally amateur biz-analyst brain is thinking that the massive hike along with the short notice was designed for maximum PR. No-one’s going to talk about a 3 month lead time on 20% increase. But everyone is going to talk about 2 week lead time on 170%. It’s a Trump Tariff media tactic.

Anyway, I too am very grateful for this safe space of amazing kick-ass women who I’ve been able to share this journey with over the last 8 months. I’ve lost 20kg, I’ve gone down 3-4 sizes, and sold half my wardrobe. I’ve learned to take control of my own WL journey by counting clicks, switching to recommended suppliers and found the courage to do the bonus dose. I’ve also discovered Vinted, collagen, Vit-c serums! Yet to try microneedling, the double cleanse, biotin - but never say never!

BreezyPeer · 17/08/2025 11:41

Morning everyone! I am just surfacing from a massive lie in. I reckon it's the tail end of being ill earlier in the week as I feel proper bright now!
Weprescribe did email to say they had reinstated stocks and existing customers could order again. I went through the process but the discount and free postage had been removed which really irritated 😤 me. I know it was still cheaper than if I end up having to buy after the increase but I am going to have faith in my maths and this thread and leave well alone! 😂
I jabbed yesterday 3.75 and will go back to 5 on Thursday this week. I went to a bbq last night. Found I could eat ok but absolutely no interest in second helpings, picking at crisps etc which is what my pre MJ life looked like.
@MJalltheway having sewing skills is something I am really jealous of! Although, tbh, I had kind of lost interest in clothes lately, if it fitted I bought it! Usually the day before an event. I'm trying to only buy things I love now. Quite tricky to get dressed though because I have so few clothes now! Anyway, the capsule is coming together and I have some new pieces coming from Vinted this week. So hopefully that will help!
@Aimingdown 'you're looking well ' is such a strange phase. I've always taken it at face value but now when people say it I know they mean 'slimmer' but are too polite to say, so I guess they did mean 'fatter' before! 🤣
Also congratulations on the milestone! I agree with mixing units in these circumstances 🥳 🎉
Have a great everyone 😀 it's sunny here and I am going to get some outside jobs done x

discov · 17/08/2025 12:05

I’ve got a big pile for Vinted but I have no motivation to sort it, even though once you get into it it’s very easy and fairly quick. My actual wardrobe is dwindling at a rapid pace. There’s a few bits I’ve been able to get away with but now I’m going to have to cull. DH keeps telling me to go shopping but I honestly have no idea what I need/want/like any more! I’ve been reading threads on here and stuff elsewhere about building a wardrobe from scratch but it’s all a bit too grown up/serious for me and not my style. There’s a lot of neutrals, wear a blazer with your jeans type advice which is 100% not me. I am mid-thirties and have lots of tattoos and piercings but I don’t dress what you’d consider alternative. I’m more of a ‘dopamine dresser’ which is a term which seems to be popping up everywhere at the minute. But even then it’s a very fine line between cool block colours/graphic prints and juvenile prints with stars and rainbows on, which isn’t my thing at all.

Anyway I don’t really know where I’m going with this. Just that I don’t know where to shop and I’m struggling to find people whose style I like on Instagram or tiktok for inspiration as I don’t know what to search! Maybe I need to make a list of basic things I need and go from there. I have a couple of pairs of high waisted wide legged jeans which fit, but all my tops are too big. In the autumn and winter I tend to wear a short dress with tights and boots but I’ve not seen any dresses I like at all either.

I used to love fashion when I was younger, even though I’ve never been ‘slim.’ But once I had my dd at 23 and money was tight, I stopped shopping for pleasure and enjoying styling outfits. Now almost 12 years later and I’d love to get back to that but it’s so hard when you’ve no idea where to start. Maybe I need to post a thread on Style & Beauty for some help!!

DGonMJ · 17/08/2025 12:08

For my own accountability, logging stats here:
Jab#33 • Maintenance wk13 • 3mg
SW 79.6kg • GW 62.4kg • CW 58.7kg BMI 21.4
0.1kg loss this week - reducing dose

Have just calculated if I stick to 3mg for rest of this pen I’ll have 5 doses left (8 in total). Not sure how I feel going beyond 35days yet, but reassuring to know it’s there some wiggle room in case any issues with delivery.

Jins · 17/08/2025 12:48

NSV. I bought some merrell sandals on Vinted last year as I was told they were insanely comfortable. They weren’t. They were too tight for my wide feet. Just getting my next Vinted sales ready and tried them on. Perfect fit.

I was picking up a few bits from Aldi this morning and spotted a yoga resistance bar set reduced to £2.99. Hopefully that will improve my arms a bit. The electric toner belt I bought with no expectation that it would work has made a difference too. I’ve always had reasonable abs but they are buried under a fat layer.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 17/08/2025 13:58

yes, shoe size has definitely changed - and of course some of my favourite pairs are too wide now.

@myladyjane an d @discov I use Protein Works Clear protein, amazon has it. Also struggled with the flour taste of traditional powders. The clear ones are much better - I would advise to ignore the instruction and dilute them in a LOT of water though, they are very sweet.

@discov maybe a personal shopper session? There are plenty of people offering it priavtely as well - a friend of mine just did a day, where the consultant went through her wardrobe and helped to sort it, and advised her what cuts and colours work better for her. Next they will go shopping together. It's so easy to get stuck with some ideas what suits us and what not, and this of course changes with both age and weight changes. Or was never true to start with - I've had many 'what on earth was I thinking??' moments.

Thank you all for the well wishes, feeling much better. Stomach is deflating, looking only about 5-6 months pregnant now. 😁

myladyjane · 17/08/2025 14:30

@HeidiNotSoHeavy thank you. I’ll try that. Protein has always been a bit of a bete noir for me and a combination of my shedding hair and the fact I suddenly have NO ARSE has made me feel a bit worried that I need to do a bit more re muscle mass.

@discov I find some of the s&b ladies really helpful. There is a frequent recommendation for an insta account called style me happy. She’s a professional stylist and does a lot of virtual consultations/courses. Not too spendy. Dopamine dresser, probably 40ish. I’ve not used her (yet) but may consider it. She’s not totally my thing but closer to a lot of accounts I’m recommended.

I had a lovely long lake swim this morning and spent the time thinking about my next steps. It looks like I am in the approved queue for the 2 10mg I ordered last week (showing as approved and waiting to dispatch) so provided that I do manage to shift the 9lb I need to get my bmi under 30, I may then look to transition to Wegovy to take off the last 10lb slowly and maintain. I did think wegovy was only approved for 2 years though so don’t know what that means for long term maintenance but I guess time will tell. Dh is supportive of staying on mj if I need to though which is helpful in terms of me having the space to think it through.

mince3point14159265 · 17/08/2025 16:30

@myladyjane someone on one of the other threads that's probably best avoiding (!) said that the advice to restrict Wegovy to 2 years has been abolished now. I think the main problem everyone seems to be having now is finding which advice is the best for switching over! Don't think there are too many statistics for going from MJ to Wegovy. 🤔

myladyjane · 17/08/2025 16:35

Ah interesting. Yeah I did peek at that one them promptly left it. I still have a few months to see how the land lies so who knows

i did just have a lovely afternoon nap on a lounger in the garden though.

mince3point14159265 · 17/08/2025 16:37

Glad you're starting to feel more like your old self @HeidiNotSoHeavy ; I've been looking like I was about 15 years pregnant so 5/6 months is nothing!

Completely understand where you're coming from @discov ; I have no idea what I even like anymore, much less what actually suits me.

I really need to sort out my wardrobe too but it just feels like such a daunting task. I've never sold on Vinted but really should start learning how! 🦖
