According to my measurements and Next size chart, I am now size 6. six! Never in my wildest dreams. All I dreamed about was getting back to my slimmest at size 10. One of those odd weeks where I haven't lost weight, but have suddenly lost a few cm all over.

BreezyPeer · 30/07/2025 07:16

@HeidiNotSoHeavy a size 6!! That's amazing xxx

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 30/07/2025 07:57

Just spent an hour catching up on posts after a good couple of weeks off. Glad to see people are still doing so well, niggles aside. And belated sympathy @RockyisMYRhino - hope your husband’s health is improving.

I’m still the dunce of the class - before I went away I still hadn’t quite lost a stone and a half (total). I’m so far off my goals that I try not to think about it. I haven’t weighed for at least 3 weeks as I’ve not been back to my flat - will be weighing tomorrow morning and have been getting gradually more and more anxious about it. I’d say I ate a lot less than I usually do (usually it’s woo-hoo, the brakes are off) and we did a lot of hiking. But exercise has never made any difference to my weight so I’m expecting the worst. Knowledge is power though, right. That’s my most positive thought anyway.

Zempy · 30/07/2025 08:03

Well done @HeidiNotSoHeavy, amazing stuff. To those avoiding the scales, I hope they are kind to you when you finally hop on.

I had another good weigh in today (daily weigher) at 9:6. So now over four stone lost. I am going to have to sell some more jeans - should have listened to Heidi!!

DD has a BIG job interview today and I think I am more anxious about it than she is! 🤞🤞🤞

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 30/07/2025 08:09

@zempy I don't listen to myself either and have a drawer full of jeans a size too big..

As it's just a size, will keep them for a while though - expecting to put some weight on in August when I can't exercise.

Jins · 30/07/2025 09:10

My scales weren’t rude this morning, they were just unkind. I’ve fluctuated between 9.2.4 and 9.0.4 since 13th June. Today I’m at the top end of the scale. I think I’ll go back to framing it in my head as maintaining rather than plateauing as that felt better. In fact it was only an unexpected whoosh that made me think about trying for goal again.

I’ve not needed to replace clothes like some of you but I’ve lost just over 2 stone compared to the 4 that others have managed so the need isn’t as great. My wardrobe is full of loose drapey clothes and I’ve only needed to alter a couple of things. It’s quite strange really as my measurements have decreased significantly.

I did buy a bra yesterday. It was heavily discounted in an already cheap shop and ticked the unpadded, unmoulded boxes. It was the first I’ve ever seen IRL in a 40B so I just had to give it a go. It’s about 90% perfect and if I can bend the wires a bit it’ll be 95%. Based on underbust measurement I should be in a 34 band but here we are

Polkadotdash · 30/07/2025 13:51

Welcome back @0ncemorewithfee1ing you’re my slow loss twin! I’m still hovering around the two stone loss mark. Obviously surgery and the two week MJ break hasn’t helped much so I’m not getting too stressed yet about being stuck in the 12st bracket. But it is frustrating.
I also had an annoying discovery last week when I checked on my BMI range. I thought that the top weight for normal bmi for my height was 11st 9lbs. God knows where I got that from (wishful thinking maybe) but it’s actually 11st 3lbs. So I have further to go than I planned. Bugger!

myladyjane · 30/07/2025 16:40

@Polkadotdash hope all going ok and you are healing well

I’m ok thanks. Scar is healing but is still sore and I can’t lift/drive/walk too fast or far at the moment. Of course, I’m mega bored and the children are now at home and glued to their screens because I can’t take then out anywhere! But in the big scheme of things, I think I’ve made good progress.

PenelopePerseveres · 30/07/2025 19:38

Waves to @Polkadotdash and @0ncemorewithfee1ing , welcome back, I am pleased you're both doing ok, both healing and having a nice break. I'll be keeping you company for a while.

I'm fluctuating upwards again, it is bloody annoying, I wonder if stress does have an impact on my weight because it isn't food intake. I've upped my walking since I returned from holiday, three pilates classes a week and I've gained a kilo.

@2025istheyeari sorry, I had missed your job update. I think you are right.

@Polkadotdash you have every reason to take life a little more slowly and treat yourself gently. Healing has to take priority!

Must say, I’d be very happy to be your weight one day! I’ve got a long way to go yet . But a sort of bright side is that I have to buy a dress for a wedding in October and I doubt I’ll be much slimmer then (maybe half a stone on my trajectory) - so can start looking now!

2025istheyeari · 30/07/2025 20:39

So good to hear from you @Polkadotdash i was wondering how you are. Glad you’re making good progress but must be frustrating to be out of action, hopefully a bit more time and you’ll be feeling much better.
@HeidiNotSoHeavy wow, go you!
congrats @zempy and good luck to your daughter!

@0ncemorewithfee1ing , hope you had a great holiday. You’re doing so well, we’re all on our own individual journeys, hang on in there!

@PenelopePerseveres thats so annoying😳. A nutritionist friend did some tests for me a while back when I was going through a really stressful time that showed significantly increased cortisol levels. Stress can have a huge impact on cortisol which in turn can lead you to put on weight. Obviously the key advice is to reduce stress but that’s often easier said than done, so there are some things you can do with your diet to to try to reduce cortisol levels including eating magnesium, vitamin b and c rich foods and the normal advice to reduce caffeine, eat a balanced diet etc. may be worth looking into a bit more? Good luck

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 30/07/2025 20:46

@Polkadotdash sorry it's taking a while but take it easy!

And yes stress definitely affects how our bodies work.

BreezyPeer · 31/07/2025 06:33

SW before MJ 16st
SW 15st 12
CW 12st 0.5lb
1st GW 14st 6lb MET!! 🎉
2nd GW 13st 3lb MET!! 🥳 🎉
Final GW 12st 0 MET!! 🥳 🎉 🎊

Week 29 1.5lb gain 🙄
Total loss so far 13st 13.5lb
Well, it was my birthday week! I was so desperate to get to goal beforehand that I think a boomerang was inevitable.

On it again this week!
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing xx

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 31/07/2025 06:38

massive - or is it now slim congratulations, @BreezyPeer ! How does it feel?

Zempy · 31/07/2025 07:14

Congratulations @BreezyPeer!

I just reset my goal to 9 stone exactly. I do love a nice round number!

@0ncemorewithfee1ingI really wouldn’t start looking at dresses now for October. You could be much slimmer by then and not only want a different size, but a different style of dress.

BreezyPeer · 31/07/2025 07:33

@Zempy @HeidiNotSoHeavy thank you both! It's funny how this far into the journey even a gain doesn't feel better like a disaster.
I also feel weirdly slim when I know that the last time I was this weight ( about 15 years old) I thought I was massive 😅

RockyisMYRhino · 31/07/2025 08:09

Weigh in and jab day for me today and despite a rather stressful week with an injured DH (who is still waiting to hear when his operation will be) I’ve still managed a fairly good loss of almost 2lbs! I also have a NSV of buying a brand new pair of size 14 jeans from Sainsburys and them fitting almost perfectly at first try 😍

SW: 15st 1lb
CW: 12st 11.6lb
GW: 10st 7lb
Total Loss: 2st 3.8 lb

BreezyPeer · 31/07/2025 08:24

@RockyisMYRhino congratulations! That's a great loss even without a stressful week!
I love Sainsbury's jeans👖it's so nice to find another fan 😍

MJalltheway · 31/07/2025 08:25

sorry to hear you still don't have op details for DH @RockyisMYRhino , how frustrating. But good work on your loss and NSV!

I'm having one of those odd weeks where, despite doing everything I normally do, the scale is staying stubbornly stuck. Not official weigh day until tomorrow but I generally lose around 0.8-1kg a week and so far this week have lost nothing at all. Fingers crossed for a whoosh overnight.

I've been doing some calculating because my body fat %age is still high, even with now being in the healthy weight range. My scale tells me my fat-free body weight is 56.1kg and the top end of the healthy body fat %age range is 27%. So I need to get down to at least 70.7 kg in order to get to the correct body fat percentage (assuming my muscle mass doesn't change).
since my target weight is 70kg, that's reassuring that that is about right to aim for.

DGonMJ · 31/07/2025 09:37

Morning all! Great to hear from you @Polkadotdash and fingers crossed for a surgery date soon @RockyisMYRhino

@BreezyPeer I think a mere 0.5lb over your goal is very much a win for post-birthday indulgence. Do you have a bracket that you’re happy to bounce within? Mine was originally 60-65kg, but I’ve gone below it and so I’m thinking 60-62.4 would keep me comfortable in the same size clothes.

Maintenance update:
Another hungry day yesterday, less so in the morning after 2 eggs, smoked salmon and avocado. I think the fat helped keep my appetite in check. But by the evening I was still hungry after dinner - so just drank lots of water and went to bed early. My TDEE maintenance is 1750 but last two days my calories have been at 2000. I did 20mins strength training yesterday morning so wondered if that’s adding to my appetite. Weight today is still only 59.6kg so have maintained since Sunday, but it’s been consciously using lots of my own willpower not MJ-magic.

This morning I’ve had porridge with berries and nuts, and I’m already hungry. Not enough protein or fat. I think I’m in final week before my period, two massive spots on my upper lip - just as I have to give a big presentation this morning!

Jins · 31/07/2025 09:47

Morning all. I’m sitting in a car park waiting to meet a consultant who specialises in the thing I retired from. I am the secret weapon to assess whether he’s fobbing someone off. It’s weird going to this sort of thing without charging a fee 🤣

Jab later and weigh day tomorrow. Great results from the weigh ins so far. I’m loving the fact that we’re reasonably relaxed about fluctuations. That’s got to be an improvement from previous attempts.

meatyryvita · 31/07/2025 10:02
